My children are in primary school at ISF. We spent a lot of time during the spring of 2020 looking for a private school after moving to Germany from the US. We felt fortunate that there is more than one wonderful private international school in the Frankfurt area. Every family is different, but I want to tell you why ISF works for our family. First, the curriculum is in English and is very rigorous and accessible. I’ve been a high school teacher for the past sixteen years, and I was impressed with the SABIS curriculum. I didn’t want to put the kids in German language schools, but I did hope they would pick up some of the language— and they have! My child in second grade has around seven hours of instruction per week in German, and it’s been his most difficult class. It moves quickly, and met with the primary director. We determined the support he needed to be successful. In some subjects they offer after school study groups for struggling students. Second, the teachers work hard and make lessons fun. In second grade they play learning games and regularly do hands-on activities. My son who couldn’t keep track of much was taught how to organize his things and keep track of them. My child in preschool loves the frequent singing and movement activities. The whole philosophy about learning at this school is a breath of fresh air. Third, they get playground time regularly in primary. The playgrounds for kindergarten/preschool and primary are separate and very nice! In KG/PS they play rain or shine or snow. They have many sports courts and fields, and a very nice indoor swimming pool. Fourth, the lunch options are awesome. Students can bring lunch from home, but they have two lunch options daily in the cafeteria. They are sensitive to allergies and vegetarians, but also offer kid favorites. My picky eater learned to try new things this year, which is a big deal! They get different dishes at school than they get at home sometimes, which we think is a good thing. Some other things I think are worth mentioning: - They want the kids to learn to solve their problems. They guide the students to find solutions to conflicts. - The Administration is very receptive to parent concerns and feedback. They have a director at each level that you can call or email with questions or concerns. - The Parent Network (equivalent to PTA in the states) is very active. They have a parent over each grade and a parent rep for each class. They also have International Representatives that help Plan holiday festivities that represent the diverse cultures at the school. The students are taught to appreciate diversity. - They offer after school and weekend activities like dance, gymnastics, swim, etc. (as possible, limited during COVID). - The school year is divided into three terms, not four like in a typical US school. Each term they are assessed three times. The grades are weighted so that the grades in the third term matter most, as by that point they should have better mastery of the material. - Even during lockdowns, they have gone above and beyond to keep students learning. They offered face to face or online (parent’s choice) for primary grades when other schools offered online only. This was a great relief to working parents. The school is very organized with their sanitation procedures. -No school is perfect, and if you’re looking for perfection, you’ll be disappointed anywhere! If you are willing to communicate with the staff, you will be much happier. They work hard to find resolutions and make things right. Oh, and come to school early so you don’t get stuck waiting for the train to pass! - If you have questions, please consider contacting the school. (Some of these reviews on google seem questionable to me!) Even though we all have different expectations for our child’s school, I think that ISF ticks all the boxes. (These are pictures I’ve taken while volunteering at the school. If you chose ISF, please join the Parent Network with me! :))

As a parent and a researcher in the field of early childhood and school education I am very impressed with the professionalism of this school. We spontaneously decided to start our daughter in first grade and are very impressed by the daily level of support and commitment towards our daughter’s transition. The level of personal dedication of the primary school coordinator Mrs. Jarque is unheard of. She went out of her way to secure our child’s wellbeing, personally provided individual solutions to us as a family when they were needed, making sure on a daily basis our daughter had the best start possible. Her class room teacher Mr. O’Toole is very proactive, offers a lot of personal support and is a very experienced teacher with an amazing personality, always cheerful and supportive. We are also very impressed with the German teacher Mrs. Wolf who provides a high level and holistic program for the German native speakers which is highly above the level first grade students would experience in a state school. We as parents are witnessing the holistic approach of the school on a daily basis which targets educational outcomes as well as the wellbeing of children. We are very impressed with the academic outcomes and the systematic communication with parents through modern technology and face to face. Especially because concerns and feedback of parents is taken very seriously. ISF provides an outstanding teaching environment were absolutely nothing is left to chance due to amazing leadership and team work and where the individual needs of each child and their family are meet. Everyone whom we met so far from the teaching staff, the security team to the people working in administration or in the cafeteria is professional, supportive and cheerful! After only a few weeks into the school year it feels like family. After working almost 20 years in the field of quality in education I can clearly say: this is an exceptional and outstanding school for German and international children whose parents are looking for a high level of professionalism where the individual educational and emotional needs of their child(ren) are taken seriously and are being met.

Hello guys, today i wanted to write about why you shouldnt choose this school especially for 10+ grade. First of all the teaching of half of the subjects is absolutely terrible. Yes, there are some great teachers who sincerely want to do their best, but half of them makes students study on their own throwing a bunch of presentations and worksheets on them. This type of learning is really concerning and basically leaves students no choice but to study on their own at their free time. I think this is unacceptable for school that asks for the prices they have on their website. Next, the dress code rules for teenager students are pointless, it is ironically funny for me to watch at some teachers measuring the length of girl’s skirts and making them change their clothes because of the skeleton prints on their shirts. The rule about prohibition of phones anywhere but in one room seems also very pointless for 14+ aged students who need their phone not only for contacting their parents and friends but also for studying purposes. This rule doesn’t make students use their phones less; actually, they spend much more time on their phones as they seem as something “bad” and “prohibited” and they have a natural tendency to object such nonsense rule for them, teenagers that live in the digital era. Overall, do not recommend. Price is huge, quality is extremely low. In the end i also wanted to say that students here who are 14+ age are constantly treated as little kids who can’t do nothing on their own.

A strict school that only cares about grades, no fun activities for highschoolers, girls are constantly shamed for what they wear and there is no freedom of wearing something that will not make you sweat extremely in summer. Teachers don't do their jobs right, and multiple weekly tests lead to high stress, all learning is boring textbooks, and way too fast paced cramming teaching. . The counselor does nothing, no social emotional help during stress or bullying, Very disappointed in this school and the way it treats its students, there is no care for the students, only care is for reputation and strict parents.

I enrolled here for 10th grade in 2018 and graduated in 2021so I was in school during COVID and I have to say that although everything around us was changing very fast, the school and teachers did their best to continue giving quality education and support to all students. I enjoyed my time here very much and believe all my classes and exams were structured to prepare me the best for university. Great school

This is by far the worst school. Despite the high tuition, this school provides poor facilities, an exam room that always has problems, and even forces students to read ebooks and does not provide books. Even the sabis ebook is very slow, making it inconvenient to study. If you want your child to get education in the right place, do not enroll in this school.

The school focus more on commercials business and less on children. Most of the Parents have taken their children out from ISF recently as the primary school co-coordinator is very irresponsible and very demotivated to speak to kids. Always hiding school mistakes towards children. No actual social learning and No moral values in ISF.

Both of my Kids attend school here. Amazing teachers, staff, and facility. The education they are getting here is phenomenal and they have great access to lots of sports and activities. Covid19 has caused some major issues in our world and ISF works well to keep staff and parents well informed.

  • channel공작언니 (Bibliophile)

Boring textbooks, cramming method of teaching, lack of efforts for personality education, poor management for stealing or bullying...those are what I felt disappointed at. There should be something that they need to focus on more for true education. Those two stars for just a few good teachers.

My kids went to ISF and I was very unhappy with the school. It is a very expensive school but they had over 30 kids in most classes, 31 kids in my son's 5th grade class. Parents complained regularly about the class sizes to the administration and nothing was done.

  • Anshu Chandpuri

An excellent school with the most amazing facilities, curriculum and teaching methods! My daughter got into a well reputed UK Grammar school due to the strong academic foundations laid by ISF. Be it languages, music, sports, science or IT, ISF gave it all to her!

The school is always providing helpful updates on ISF procedures (e. g. hygene concept), activities, and progress of the children. The professionalism they are showing in these special times confirms our trust in ISF.

A truly international school with focus on diversity in teaching staff as well. My kids always saw the school as extension of family, this is type of caring and nurturing environment the school offers.
