Wir haben zu zweit eine dreiwöchige Reise durch den Norden und Teile des Südens mit Let’s Imagine gemacht. Die Organisation vor der Reise war sehr gut, auch wenn wir manchmal ein paar Tage auf eine Antwort warten mussten. Im Endeffekt wurde alles super organisiert und auch an unsere Wünsche und Vorstellungen angepasst. Wir hatten eigentlich Unterkünfte der „Mittelklasse“ vereinbart und waren jeden Tag aufs Neue überrascht, in was für super Unterkünften wir schlafen. Also das war schon wesentlich mehr als Mittelklasse. Wir hatten die ganzen 3 Wochen (abgesehen von ein paar Tagen, an denen wir per Flugzeug unterwegs waren) Alex (eigentlich Alemayu) als Fahrer mit seinem neuen Toyota Land Cruiser. Alex war ein super Fahrer und sehr nett und freundlich. Wir hatten viel Spaß auf den teilweise sehr langen Fahrten und es war immer wieder schön, morgens von ihm an der Unterkunft eingesammelt zu werden. Hier nochmal vielen Dank an Alex. Die Zeit in Äthiopien war sehr abwechslungsreich. Natürlich gibt es viele kulturelle Orte und Bauten zu sehen. Was uns vorher gar nicht so bewusst war, ist, wie vielfältig die Landschaften sind. Wir waren unter anderem in den Simien Mountains, in Geralta, in der Danakil, im Süden etc. Und jeder Ort bzw. jede Region ist auf ihre Art und Weise besonders und eindrucksvoll. Am meisten beeindruckt waren wir von der Erta Ale/Danakil-Tour über 4 Tage. Im Nachhinein ist es eine surreale Vorstellung, dass wir nachts auf einen Vulkan gewandert sind, in die Lava geschaut haben und dann in kleinen Steinhütten in der Nähe des Kraterrands geschlafen haben. Auch unter freiem Himmel in der Danakil zu schlafen, im Salzwasserpool in der Wüste zu schweben und Dallol waren sehr eindrucksvoll und abenteuerlich. Die 4-Tage-Tour wurde zusammen mit einer anderen Agentur (insgesamt waren wir 4 Autos) durchgeführt und war auch super organisiert. Im Süden hatten wir in der letzten Woche leider etwas Pech, da Kämpfe zwischen zwei Stämmen in der Nähe von Arba Minch ausgebrochen sind und wir den geplanten Besuch der Dörfer nicht machen konnten. In Addis wurde leider mein Handy von Taschendieben geklaut und während unseres Aufenthalts war es unmöglich, einen Polizeibericht für die Versicherung zu bekommen. Selbst nachdem wir schon aus Äthiopien abgereist waren, hat uns der Manager Bewnetu noch unterstützt und sich darum gekümmert, dass wir einen Polizeibericht bekommen. Vielen Dank dafür! Insgesamt hatten wir eine super Zeit in Äthiopien und das vor allem auch dank Let’s Imagine. Wir können Bewnetu und sein gesamtes Team nur wärmstens empfehlen.

Highly recommendable. Let’s Imagine organized our private 22-day trip to Ethiopia (3 people) in an extremely flexible, professional and fine way. Mr. Shamble provided us internal flights, drivers, guides, entrances and hotels during our stay. We took care of lunches and dinners, a very recommendable option. The whole program, including Northern, Southern and Eastern (Harar) Ethiopia, was 100% achieved. Mr. Shamble’s variety of attentions comprised a complementary car and driver (out of program) for cover our last day in Addis that was very useful for last visits and shopping. A very important part of the trip success was due to Iyasu, our driver-guide in Northern and Southern Ethiopia. Iyasu is an educated, professional and extremely honest person with a deep knowledge of Ethiopian culture and society; he is an expert in African birds and a very cautious driver, a very important point in Ethiopian roads. He was very attentive and careful with the whole family. Thanks Iyasu, you are an endearing person!!. Wir machten eine 2 wöchige Reise über Addis, Lalibela, Gondar und Simien Mountains. Alles war perfekt von Bewnetu organisiert. Auch als ein Inlandsflug ausgefallen ist und wir eine Nacht länger in Lalibela bleiben mussten, passte Bewnetu die Tour entsprechend über Nacht an und alles lief weiter wie am Schnürchen. Unsere lokalen Guides warteten alle zuverlässig am jeweiligen Flughafen. Wir wurden immer bestens versorgt. Der Highlight war die 4 Tage Wandertour in den Simien Mountains. Es wurde alles getan, damit unsere Tour so bequem als möglich war. Nur laufen mußten wir noch selber ;) . Logistisch war dies eine Meisterleistung. Wir waren mit einer ganzen Entourage unterwegs. Alle wußten genau was zu tun war. Sicherheit spielte die oberste Rolle. Äthiopien ist generell ein atemberaubend schönes Land mit tollen Menschen und vielen Überraschungen. Wenn man seine Stereotypen im Kopf ausblendet hat man dort eine tolle Zeit. Ich kann nur jedem ein Besuch empfehlen.

We have returned from a 10 days adventure of Northern Ethiopia that was organized by Imagine Ethiopia Tours. They were a referral to us and I must say they exceeded our expectations in both customer service, trip planning and complete organization. He and his team went out of the way to re-organize schedules and make sure we saw all the sites on our list despite changes in flight schedules due to weather.
