My Opinion- Pathetic phone support and callback. At the same time the person in charge is very efficient and replies to emails and queries. Its important to know that they are severely restricting personal visits due to “Corona” excuses. Stating ,corona’ they are chronically understaffed and the consulate is run as a one-man show who is overworked by the government. Mr Dhingra should look into this and provide good service and hold up the image of the nation. Personal touch and face-to-face consultation can never be replaced. There wont be a problem for you to get services and help here- but the time taken for you to get the same is not guaranteed. Lots of respect and admiration for the one officer who is doing it all.

We went to apply for OCI of my wife and we had made a couple mistakes but they were extremely helpful in helping us file properly and incredibly patient even when we were fumbling with papers. We came from far and had a bad, rainy day, but the help from the consulate came as sunshine. 5 star for sure! *One tip, please look at the website for the updated information, and if in doubt the best way is to contact them by email, they reply swiftly and they're always helpful. Do NOT come without an appointment please, it wastes their time and your time also*

The consulate was very efficient during my husband's and my passport renewal. Especially during pandemic times, and everything over online, they were really very helpful and considerate. They always responded for my email within 1-2 working days, and would always explain the steps in detail. It is always better to write them an email for any consular services, rather than just going through the website and sending your documents. Since every document varies on a case to case basis, it is definitely advisable to contact them first.

The documentation required for each consular service may not be completely described in the website so be prepared to make a few trips to the consulate. The office hours differ from the hours when consular services are offered so please pay attention to that as well.

Decent consulate.. it's housed what was the oldest library in Hamburg.. overall good experience, and they have good initiatives like free yoga classes, free Hindi classes..
