Who doesn't like going to a zoo, this place is a great place to bring kids of all ages, and even adults have fun here. There are always new interesting exhibits or various animals to learn abut and watch in their somewhat natural habitat. Anyone with kids who lives within 30 miles of here should have yearly passes and come often. It's a great way to spend a nice day strolling thru the grounds and watching wildlife in person instead of letting kids play at home on video games, haha. Christmas at the zoo with a limo ride is always a great treat. They decorate everything with lights all over the place. Food, drinks, and snacks are a bit expensive, but that's expected for a venue such as this. But the money goes to a good cause and helps keep the flow of animals coming into our Indy zoo. Bring the family here for some educational and fun times. They have a huge parking lot, so don't worry about having to park far away.
I remember when the zoo was new. I remember it at 10 years old and what I saw today was sad and disheartening. Glass in the exibits were scratched and some cases so limed up you can not see what is in the cage. There was very little friendliness from the employees. For the exorbitant prices you charge for admission it seems some repairs should be paid for. You also have a prime spot for childnapping in and around the penguin area because of the extreme darkness. Hard to believe our children's museum is rated #1 and I don't feel our zoo even rates more than a 2.
This shop was full of beautiful souvenirs. Although there are a few stalks selling smaller items throughout the zoo, this is probably the best place to find something to remember your trip. The employees tried to be helpful when I asked for a bandage. Unfortunately, they didn't have any there. Hopefully they went to go get some after that.
It's a gift shop full of your typical cheap zoo stuff that's been insanely overpriced. $75 for a sweatshirt that you could buy at Walmart for $10 is crazy. Any of the stuffed animals can be purchased literally anywhere else. For the sake of getting something from the zoo it's cute and has a lot of stuff. The prices are just crazy.
Wonderful place to visit, especially on a date...had I a date ! I would ask her to set up a pic-nic basket for the three tickets I have left for myself and two others. Example : a Mother and Child and I. I'm a single man, with no one to enjoy a day at the Indianapolis Zoo with. 260.indianapolis 702.let's 1101 Zoo TOGETHER !
Outrageously expensive, unfortunatly the money they make isn't truly going to the animals to maintain quality of life. If the animals were better taken care of I would have no issue paying 25 dollars a stuffed animal. Their 10 dollar ones were very cheesey, knock off versions of big eyed beanie babies. Wasn't impressed.
Loved the dolphin show! the zoo is pretty big wasn't able to see all the animals since we were on a tight schedule. Once we come back to visit we will be stopping by here first!! Price to get in and parking were not bad either. Items sold at the Gift shop were not expensive! loved the shirts that I bought myself (:
We have been traveling to the Indianapolis Zoo for the last 13 years and we LOVE it! It’s the only place to see the underwater viewing of dolphins and the two story butterfly area is amazing. It also has an aquarium section. You can not go wrong with this zoo! I recommend it to everyone!
Okay dude straight up this was a nice and neat little gift shop. I was a little disappointed on their magnet selection but that's alright ( my mom collects them) I didn't get anything here but it did hsve alot of cool souvenirs.
Jordy was great for the dolphin adventure where you get to do some of the tricks trainers do and rub there belly and backs. The experience was one I’ll never forget. She was very nice and helped make it one to remember.
Was really looking for a hat pin because my hubby is a collector, but only one ugly one in the place. Great price on some really cool books for the grandkids though, and who comes to the zoo for the gift shop anyway?
Really nice exhibits. Super interesting details from staff at the major ones. Very cool to hear about the individual animals rather than just facts about species.
Pretty neat suviners trail decent prices. I was able to find something for everyone to bring home to the family. Worth stopping in and checking it out.
Wide variety of thing to get everyone in the family. Only down side - it expensive. Bought 3 tshirts for $70.
Very sweet check out assistants; very kind and helpful. Decent items to choose from at decent prices.
First time I've ever been to the zoo at Christmas and it was an absolutely beautiful sight to behold
Expensive. But cute stuff. Don't plan on coming away with worth while gifts for less then $40
Lots of souvenirs, expensive like most places like this.
It's pricey but they do have neat stuff there.
Not to much variety on magnets. Just saying...
