"The food is great"
"We have been clients at Ishina for MANY years"
"Worst food I have ever eaten in Ottawa"
"25 minutes is a long wait"
"I just used UberEATS to order from here to try it out and for how much you pay for heir food you get NOTHING"
The food is great. When I discovered this place a year ago, I thought it was great value however my latest visit was a shock when I discovered the portions have been reduced by half yet the price was the same so this is the same as doubling the price. One cannot blame the Covid situation for this massive increase in gouging.
We have been clients at Ishina for MANY years. I have never had anything less than an amazing meal. Great flavour and delicious. Best paneer jalfrezi ever. And when you can combine great food with friendly and helpful service you get a great place to get supper when you don’t feel like cooking. Try them.....they are amazing
Worst food I have ever eaten in Ottawa. I was at a wedding yesterday and food was catered by Ishina. Who so ever cooked it should eat it first. Udad ki vada was the worst, followed by naan, uncooked potato, worst chutneys. Parotta and Achar were the only two items that were good. Dessert was served after few guests left.
25 minutes is a long wait. We ordered saag paneer, butter chicken and chick pea curry. I love saag paneer the best, chick pea curry was also good (has a nice aroma but lack of acidity for my taste) . However, butter chicken was just ok. All dishes were very smooth, mild, not too spicy. Mango lassi was the best!!
I just used UberEATS to order from here to try it out and for how much you pay for heir food you get NOTHING. $16.00 for butter chicken and I got hardly any chicken. I wouldn't recommend this place to anybody because the plates sizes are far to small. Never ordering or going here again.
Love love the Thali options Ishina comes up with every weekend since the start of the pandemic. The Rajasthani thali and Punjabi thali are our fav. Really looking forward to Bengali thali this week. Thank you Ishina for keeping the Indian food spirit alive, so many miles away from home.
My hubby and I have been going to Ishina's for... ever! Their food is amazing, hence why we were there every week... sometimes 2-3X a week!! Gina is an awesome Chef and takes great care when I order because of my gluten intolerance (celiac). We love Ishina's and we love the family too♥
we ordered food 3h before. When we reached there we had to wait 40 minutes to get the food. waiting bumper a few gulab jamun! The roti was all mushy as not well wrapped, the briani horrible with uncooked rice and bitter taste of ajwain in it!!
I place an order for Butter Chicken thinking I'm going to get a nice meal with nice garnishes and maybe some nuts on it, so I place an order on skip and it cost me 30$ and all I got when the driver arrives is a big piece of naan bread which
My daughter and I ordered the Diwali non-vegetarian feast for two. Every dish was delicious and so well prepared. There was so much food we were able to get two fabulous dinners and a substantial lunch out of it. From appetizer to dessert,
Went there for lunch today with colleagues from work. Good food, and excellent service. The waitress was very helpful, even took photos of the group from several different angles, while continuing to serve other customers. The cost of the
Exceptional Indian cuisine with an amazing variety of choice. For me, the closest that Indian food in Ottawa has come to what I grew up enjoying in India. The weekly specials at Ishina, Rajasthani food, Kashmiri food, Punjabi Thali, Dosa
Ishina's is only open for lunch buffet. The buffet had a very delicious soup, salad items, 3 or 4 vegetarian dishes, the ubiquitous butter chicken and wonderfully aromatic and flavourful tandoori chicken. There was also rice and pappadum
This place has the best Indian food in town. I discovered this establishment about 11 years ago. My wife and I have been visiting the restaurant at least once a week (often times more than once a week) these past 11 years. That's all you
Ishina might be a bit of a hidden treasure but the food is just too good - have to share. We had takeout last weekend and it was spectacular. The vegetarian dinner for three would probably have fed 5 generously. The lentil dish and the
We got their Saturday special today Hakka Cuisine. It had fried rice, noodles, Manchurian and also a veggie stir fry. Everything was so yummy. Attached with it was cute thank you card with an offer of free desert on next week's order.
Eat here often for lunch, food quality is better than the other Indian buffet in Bell's Corners, but selection is more limited. Decor leaves something to be desired, meh. They bring fresh naan to the table, usually have 5 hot dishes,
Lunch buffet with a buddy today. I like the cosy feel of this place. It feels like you're eating at home, being served by your family. Only it's bigger. And it's not your family. But it could be. That's how welcoming the owners are.
Food was decent, but not the best Indian food. Pricey for the amount of food we received and we pre-ordered an hour and a half befor but still ended up waiting 30 minutes anyway because they didn't see our order come in.
One week, I passed there and the kitchen was filthy. The next week it was spotless and they had a pest control certificate on the wall. The eating area smells of very strong curry. Visit places before you order from them.
We picked up their father's day dinner for two, and it both looks and tastes amazing! Also there was a little father's day surprise gift in the bag. Nippi was gracious as always. Great to see they are still here with us.
Food served there is fresh and tasty. Variety of foods to serve vegetarians and meat eaters. Perfect place for lunch. Staff are very friendly, and the prices are very reasonable. Would definitely go there again.
Best Indian food in Ottawa and probably all of Ontario. Staff is always so nice and helpful. Large portions for take out and buffet is always a good call. Won't ever go anywhere else for Tandoori!
Effort+Excellence=Ishina Gina of Ishina puts in 150%to create Excellent unique dishes. I ordered the Diwali Special, the food tasted delicious. The food reminded me like I was eating
Excellent quality, fresh and authentic dishes some with a twist. Bells Corners hidden gem. Discovered them about a year ago and have become a regular! Highly recommend them!!!
Popular place for lunch time eats. The food is not spicy at all (take that as a pro or con up to you) The price is reasonable for the buffet and the staff is friendly.
We went there after reading reviews. Tried mixed veg, Makhani Paneer, Dal makhni and Chpatis. (1) Mixed veg: Frozen cut vegetables bought from Walmart. Boiled and
As work neighbours of Ishina, we are always happy to order a great lunch from them! Especially the Indian Fish and Chips! Great food!
Ordered a paneer dish for takeout while at the brewery next door. Fantastic food and kind service! Will be back. More
