Excellent service. J and J moving went above and beyond to help me move. My full review is below in case anyone was interested as I felt the moving process to be stressful so it might be helpful to see how my experience was. Price: Given there are so many moving companies and various hidden fees. I came across J and J moving company. I interacted with John who was prompt to reply and helpful answering my many questions. He provided me quote that was a great price and there were no hidden fees. The price that I was quoted was the price I paid at the end of my move. I was extremely pleased about this given that I’ve heard horror stories from my colleagues who used different moving companies. Moving process: The movers Sunny and Scotty arrived on time which was important as my Condo unit had strict rules regarding when they transportation bay is open and booked for certain hours per each tenant. They assessed my condo unit and asked where I would want my furniture to be in the new location. This was very helpful because they were organized when packaging and loading onto their truck allowing for the unpacking process to be seamless and organized. They carefully packaged my furniture/valuables and loaded it on their truck promptly and securely. I felt comfortable that my valuables were safe by the degree/way they packaged the items. Unloading process: They drove from Toronto to the Niagara region and unloaded my furniture/valuables with care and where I wanted them to. They were careful not to damage the walls and it was clear they were professional movers. Overall, wonderful experience and I would recommend their services. I saw that J and J was one of the top rated movers on home stars so I requested a quote from a few companies on the home stars website and he was one of the first to respond to me. Some companies didn't even get back to my request for weeks. He was nice enough to come over to my house for an in-home assessment during covid and took the necessary precautions to keep us safe. Having someone willing to come over was great since I was sick of filling out online forms listing all of the contents of each room of my house. He was friendly and professional and provided me with a flat rate quote a few hours after he left my house. I decided to go with them after getting a few other estimates because he was by far the cheaper option and gave me a flat rate so I wouldn't have to worry about paying by the hour. He was available by phone and email through the whole process. His movers were professional and really hard working. We had some hitches with our move which were out of the movers hands but John helped to make those issues as smooth as possible. In the end we got loaded up and unloaded as quickly as possible. The movers wrapped and moved more damagable items with care and even came back for a 3rd time to my old house to just carry the more breakable things (we were just moving down the street.) The guys stayed late until the job was all done and everything made it safe and sound. John was a man of his word with the original price and also answered my email after the move when I thought I lost something and thought it might have been left behind (which I later found in the house of course!) Great experience overall and would definitely recommend/use again.

My family has used John and Scottie for a few moves now. The movers are always great and work their tails off. Unfortunately my most recent experience was disappointing because the hardworking movers were overshadowed by a couple of things. The truck showed up one hour late apparently due to traffic and hence the move also finished one hour later. As per the contract one hour of travel time was to be charged. At the end of the day, they tried to charge me for two hours of travel time despite what the contract said and that they arrived 1 hour late. When I asked the mover why I'm being charged for 2 hours of travel and not 1 hour like we agreed he said he doesn't know and I can speak to the owner John myself. I called John and he was very cranky, and said to pay whatever I want and said he had to go then hung up on me. I texted him a day or two later with a picture of a part I was missing from my car jacks from after my move and he never responded. There are many movers out there and we have two upcoming moves in my family with my uncle downsizing soon and my father in law moving next month, but I won't be using or recommending these guys anymore. Be sure you stand up for yourself and only pay for the travel time mentioned in the contract and not for the time they're late. I just passed on whatever money for that 1 extra hour as tips for the 3 wonderful moving guys.

Best moving company in Toronto. Here’s why: J&J took the time on the phone to know my situation and accommodated me instantly. They were at my place within the same day and their rate was even cheaper than the other movers that were supposed to show. Customer service is exceptional. Shawn and Hamid were real and you felt like they belonged to the business as if it’s theirs. The two men that moved my things were extremely diligent in their work, wrapped all kinds of things correctly with not a single scratch (I saw them move everything individually and they knew how to place it in the truck as well so nothing would get damaged). Even when I was unpacking not even one tape marked as I removed it from my furniture pieces. Best price compared to what I found in other services downtown but what I liked more was that there’s no hidden fees. Like actually they’ll just tell you what it costs for the truck and per hour and that’s it. I paid Don’t look any further j&j is the best.

They are “simply the best”. They are honest, excellent, quick and efficient. We got J and J from a friend of mine that they just used them to move from Etobicoke to Mississauga in June and they were very happy about their services. They highly recommended them to us. So we used them to help us to move from a downtown Toronto location to another location in downtown 2 weeks ago. They have no min. hour charge, no need for deposit. They only charged their regular hourly rate + 1 hour travel fee + only extra $ 200 for moving our upright year 1976 piano which is a very good deal to us. John sent his staff, Scott, to come 2 days before the move out day to check and plan how they could move the piano out of the house from a tight space. On the moving day, John sent 3 staffs over. We are happy for their work. Actually, couple days later, we saw our next door neighbours also used them to move. What a wonderful surprise to see them again in the neighbourhood.

I’m only going to be using and recommending these movers from now on. I got Shawn and Hamid to move my apartment after calling J&J SAME DAY (my other movers, reliablemove.ca, just didn’t show to our appointment - don’t use those). I needed last minute moving and they helped me instantly - got to my home within an hour and took care of everything so neatly, no glass broken and no furniture ruined - they took enough time to take diligent steps to ensure everything is packed properly when driving as well so it wouldn’t fall or get scratched. Extremely professional, greatest customer service, and no hidden fees for a very good price rate (and I checked with aloott of other movers)!! They didn’t try to rip me off like other movers when they found out I wanted to move same day. They also don’t burn your money by going intentionally slow but are not so quick to the extent they’d ruin your furniture. Book with J&J you won’t regret it.

I recently used the services of J and J Moving Company to move the contents of my shipping container to my new apartment in Toronto and I could not have been happier with the service I received. John was very pleasant to speak with on the phone—polite, kind, helpful and honest. I appreciated his very reasonable quote and his reassurance that my move wouldn’t take very long and that there would be no minimum charge like with so many other companies I called. On the actual day of the move, Mike and Ronti, both very nice and very hard-working gentlemen, showed up right on time and they made the move go as quickly and as stress-free as possible. John, Scott and crew were friendly and professional from first point of contact right through to collecting all their (free) boxes once we'd unpacked. Their quote was competitive and reasonable and not padded/inflated with "extras". In fact they included for no change limitless boxes, bubble wrap, paper, saran wrap, wardrobe boxes, mattress covers etc etc and collected it all afterwards (including garbage bags full of used bubble wrap etc). We had one day of packing then next day of moving. The effort, stamina and work ethic of the crew was astonishing. Barely a minute of down time - I had to encourage them to take a break. Moving can be stressful, but our stress melted away with J&J managing our move. Will use them next time, for sure.

I had the greatest experience possible with J&J Movers. I honestly would recommend them to anyone and everyone that requires moving. Every member of their team has been so friendly, professional, quick to respond and absolutely incredible to deal with. I needed a storage unit moved from Toronto to Windsor, what had been a headache for me to try and logically plan myself. Using J and J ended up being a quick, easy and affordable option. After calling 10 companies for quotes, my husband and I were blown away by the professionalism, kindness and rates provided to us from J&J. Movers were polite, careful, kind and patient with helping. We went with John because of he assured us that he backs up their service by not taking payment until they are done. At 930pm they finish and we paid knowing there was 4 things left behind because of lack of space. When we arrived the next morning at our old home there was tons of things left behind. We informed him and sent pictures. He has responded and we ended up having to get a second truck 2 days later. I've messaged a number of times and no response. I guess as long as hes got our money hes happy. UPDATE: thank you Jon for taking care of the issue promptly. I would still recommend this moving company because of thir willingness ito correct the problem.

I had a great experience with J And J Moving Company. They were professional, courteous, punctual, friendly, and understanding. The manager, John, helped coordinate a quick and smooth move that involved four separate locations and a ton of stuff! Even when at the beginning of the move I ran into complications that prevented me from getting my keys on time, they were very understanding and fair and allowed storage of my stuff in the truck overnight. On top of this they were there for me first thing the next morning. This is a team of guys you can really count on! I'm hoping I never have to move again but if I do I will be using J And J.

J&J are a great moving company for jobs of ANY size. I needed to move one couch a very short distance within the city and had received a vast number of quotes which far outvalued the cost of the couch itself. I'm so thankful I found John at J&J. From the beginning I could tell that J&J values client relations & giving good service over profits. Of course making money is important to every business but this is a company with ethics, humanity & care. My job was done quickly and efficiently with friendliness, care and a fair price that was within my budget. Would 100% use the service again and recommend to any family or friend.

From the begininning, J and J Moving Company was great to deal with. John was a very nice guy and made me feel confident that I could rest assured that the move would go well. Had a move today from Brampton to Burlington. We ended up having way more items then expected. They had a second truck for hire on standby that was able to come in and help save the day. After all was said and done, they made an impossible hectic move as seamless as could be expected. The crew worked incredibly hard to get it done, and we cannot thank them enough. This is the team you want on your side. Even after having to call in the extra truck, the price still ended up within the margins we expected. Not a complaint to be had. Just an excellent experience. This company leaves their large trucks out in a large parking lot near Dundas and Bloor St. This is a large lot and lots of vehicles park there, but these guys insist on parking 2 trucks taking up 16 parking spaces each day, making it difficult or impossible for other vehicles to navigate the lot. If you have a huge truck, park it 40 metres over and let the parking lot function as it should. This is a huge display of arrogance and inconveniences the dozens if not hundreds of seniors in the lot everyday as there are a number of medical buildings across the street.

My wife and I used this company to move on July 31st from our 20th floor condo in Liberty Village to a condo townhouse in Davenport Village in Toronto. Absolutely first rate service. The two movers were great guys and they got everything done in the time we anticipated and were very patient putting our IKEA bed back together at our new place (patience being required because IKEA furniture never really goes back together as easily as when you bought it)! Would totally recommend them to anyone and if we move again in Toronto, we won’t be calling anyone else.

We have used this company three times in the last six months. The first time was to clean up and move the contents of the estate of an aunt who passed away. The second was to help my parents downsize their house and to finally, (the third time) move into a retirement home. All of these times the pricing was very reasonable, and the workers were prompt, courteous and careful of the belongings entrusted to their care. Easily the best hourly rate with no truck fee in downtown Toronto. Very responsive and allowed me to book the move within the same week of my desired move date. A friend in the neighbourhood recommended J&J. They are very professional and responsive. John is a phone call away, it was very easy to confirm our booking. There was no minimum number of hours. The team of three arrived early and loaded and unloaded very quickly placing our furniture in the rooms we wanted ithem in. As they say, the more you do to prepare, the more time you save. Terrible company to deal with, you could tell the workers hated their job, which was not a good start. The move too longer than expected well into the evening. The owner wanted cash or e-transfer at 10pm? Would think sending the the money the next day would be reasonable, not a chance, so shady. Stay away from this company. I never even received a invoice from them.

We are really late to this review. But, we needed support to move into our new apartment back in April, at the beginning of the pandemic. We were struggling to find a moving company to support us with 24 hours notice. John was really helpful. They were on time and very professional. Definitely would recommend to anyone!

Best move I’ve ever had. I was worried it would take all day to move a very full 2 bedroom from Toronto to Barrie, but the guys were loaded and ready to get on the highway after 2.5 hours. They were so thoughtful and professional and nothing was damaged. Great experience.
