My husband and I have been clients of Pantzis James CPA since we began working (high school to present) and have had great experiences each time. We reside well outside of the five boroughs but are continuous clients. For us, it isn't about location rather it's the level of professionalism and guidance that the CPAs provide, which are not just tax filing, but also entrepreneurial work, real estate that we have access to. They ensure that our filing statuses are appropriate and if ever audited by IRS, they are there to represent their clients. Of course it is a business however the CPAs genuinely take the time to get to know their clients and there's never a point where you feel rushed out of the office. Our experience has also been great in that we can email our CPA Daniel and he is beyond responsive and helpful in ways one could never imagine. While we have only worked with Timothy and Daniel, who are absolutely great, I am certain the other CPAs are just as great.

I really don't like leaving negative reviews for small local businesses - but man did they earn it! I came to this office because they had good reviews - now I wonder where they came from - maybe staff? They were quick to charge me but did not submit my taxes. The CPA gave me papers he should have kept, the only way I found out is because I called for an update on status, which they promised to send me 3 days earlier. Called in and surprise! We need additional documents. I would have never known if I didn't call. I immediately dropped off the documents - fast forward a few days, no update. Called in and was told my CPA is too busy to get back to me. FOH -I walked right into the office and there he was - doing nothing. I was seen immediately and sat there and babysat while he submitted my taxes. He promised to email me confirmation by lunch time. Did not get it until I called in the following morning and spoke to a manager. Brooklyn, this tax office ain't it.

I love J.D. Pantzis... my mom had been going to them my whole life and as soon as I was 18. I started going to them. I have used Dan, for the past 10 years since my other CPA retired and Dan is amazing. There was 1 year I did not have any full time work just my part time work and somehow Dan worked a miracle and I got back $3,500. My birthday is tax day April 15 and Dan gets me a healthy refund every year from my favorite Uncle, Sam. I even recommended them to one of my friends and she loves Dan as well. In total J.D. Pantzis does the taxes for Mysellf, my mom, friend and Aunt. They also did my Grandparents taxes before they passed. They are a great, hard working, personable an amazing staff including the receptionist..

Almost 0 communication from my CPA after initial visit. (Scheduled a follow up phone appointment without confirming I was okay with the time and day, also didn’t even notify it was scheduled until I asked after a week of not hearing anything. Then did not call me the day of our appointment for two hours past our appointment. When they did finally reach out about running late after I had to check in, I was told that I needed to be more patient. This was half an hour before their office closed on a Friday, tax day was the following Tuesday. I also still hadn’t received a call this was via email.) It was also crazy hard to reach anyone certain times. Whole experience was unprofessional and confusing.

Chris Manukian is an absolute rock star. I always feel so well taken care of at JD Pantzis. Yes, they crank out a ton of returns, and yes, it can seem very very busy if you go in person, but once you have an in-person consultation, they support a remote relationship and it's extremely convenient with e-sign and e-file, electronic copies of your return, and year-round support of your silly year-round tax questions. I am going to have a breakdown if Manukian ever leaves there. Just saying. Well worth the money to work with a well-organized, conscientious, knowlegable accounting firm. This ain't no H&R Block. This is a real firm with trained and seasoned accountants. You get what you pay for.

I have been working with Boris at J.D. Pantzis for almost a year now. He has helped me make my company more profitable by saving me in taxes and making sure all of my books are in order. I was new to NY, and Boris has walked me through everything I needed in setting up my company, dissolving my old company and straightening out my taxes in three separate states. Jim and his firm have taken excellent care of my payroll needs. They've consistently been there for me, and always responded promptly to requests for service. Any company can just set you up to log into a website and process your payroll, and even maybe file the forms. But what differentiates the excellent from the mediocre is how they stand by their service. Jim and his staff have always been there when I needed them, and have patiently guided me through whatever crisis—real or imagined—that I had at the time I called. They were great, and I highly recommend them.

I've been going to jd pantzis for over 10 years. Christopher Manukian is very knowledgeable on the tax laws and on what you can claim or not claim. In addtion, it's also a learning experience as well especially if you are not that knowledgeable about taxes. My only issue is I wish the place was bigger but they are in an excellent location. My parents have worked with this tax group for over 25 years. All of their employees are extremely responsive, dependable and are always available to answer any questions or concerns you have.

I went there for the first time this year and I got taken care of by Boris Musheyev. Boris was very good and he explained all my options to me. All in all I was satisfied with the work however I found the price to be a little high for taxes. May shop around a bit next year for a better price.
