I booked in to the salon on the phone the receptionist asked me what I needed done 1/2 head of foils colour underneath and a trim she sai ok will send you a link for a $112 deposit! Thanks that’s fine! Arrived at the salon on time sat down and Jordan looked at my hair and said I’ll just go get you a quote for your hair ! Normally my hair is $300 which is great! Jordan came and said $680 well I said no way not possible! She said the colours cost a bomb these days and that’s the price! I went on to say no way and she wanted to do less foils and colour for less money ! No if I have my hair done it’s 1/2 a head of foils and colour underneath with a trim!! I asked her for my deposit back and she showed me her business rules and conditions which apparently stipulated no refund! This salon is a scam booked on phone why wasn’t I told then how much! They wait till you pay the deposit online then you are sitting in the salon to tell you how much $680 then when your not happy to pay that much they keep your deposit $112 even though I turned up for my appointment! A deposit is only for them to keep if you don’t show for your appointment! Not wait till you arrive and shock the hell out you! After leaving I went to another hairdresser and had my hair done for $300 and I’m over the moon with my hair ! This salon is a scam and I am not going to give up until they return my $112. I am not going to let someone keep my money that isn’t theirs to keep! It’s illegal to not refund the money that’s a known fact!

BE WARNED! When you make an appointment you will be asked for your credit card details and a deposit. I had to change my appointment on the morning of the appointment as I was the only person available that day to pick up my young daughter from school. I called as soon as I was aware of this and tried to make a shorter appointment (toner only rather than full foils) so I could l leave in time. Jordan refused to alter my appointment saying she could not fit it in?? Even though I required less time?? She insisted I make it the following day for the full service which was totally fine, however, she told me I would have to pay $340 for the original appointment PLUS another $340 for the actual service the following day!! She immediately charged my credit card and refuses to refund me, and thinks it is OK as that is her 'policy'. Totally outrageous business practice! What business has NO tolerance for things in life that can't sometimes be controlled? Jordan is a highly unethical person and business operator. Underneath her highly fake persona is a very ruthless, uncompassionate person with money her only priority! As you will see with all her reviews, she only responds to the negative ones with....Sorry you are not on our system, doesn't bother to respond to any positive feedback! Book an appointment at your own risk as she will keep your card details on file and charge them at her will. Hopefully this review will save another innocent person from the same fate!

I was debating on whether or not to leave this review but have been urged by my friends and family to share my experience. I booked a full head of foils online and was told the appointment would be $260. When I arrived the lady quoted me $560, which was outside of my budget but I was excited to get my hair done and felt too anxious to say I didn’t want to go ahead with the service. THEN, when my hair was already mostly finished, just needing to be dried, I was told that I had to pay $760 dollars instead as the quote wasn’t accurate. This was at the demand of Jordan the owner, and the lady who had done my hair was very embarrassed to have to tell me that I had to pay more. Not to mention I am very underwhelmed with my hair. It is brassy and uneven and not a product worth $760. This salon does not care about its clients. I felt so vulnerable when they demanded I pay more and had no choice but to comply as I had already agreed to the services. There are far better salons that can provide much better services and for much better prices. You will not get what you pay for, and you will pay more then you are quoted if you go here.

I Had my first experience at j.l hair yesterday, I had the lovely Emma do my hair and I am so happy with how it turned out. I initially booked in with a package deal, then when I arrived we went through what I was after and I showed her some pics of what I wanted, she requoted me, which was unfortunately out of my budget, so we just went with the original package deal & I love how it turned out. My hair has never felt softer!! I’ve never walked out of a salon with my hair feeling this good! The salon itself is lovely and the girls are all very friendly and welcoming! Thank you so much to Emma and I look forward to returning in 5 weeks! :)

If you decide to utilise the $199 ad that pops up on facebook, please clarify your price prior to sitting in Jordan's chair. She will 100% add treatments and charges that you didn't ask for and demand you pay for them. Unfortunately I found out that she has quite the reputation for doing this repeatedly to clients after my $320 appointment. Yes, her colour was perfect. Yes, her personality seems genuine. But Jordan sweetie, you will not get repeat clients if you continue this shady business practice. Do better! Your once and only client, Sonja

Jorden worked so hard and did an amazing job I am stoked with the results. I went in with kinda botched red and brown hair and after showing a photo of what id like to achieve and a whole lot of work she exceeded my expectations and got it so much better than the photo I showed. Super happy with the results. She walked me through a hair care plan and I got some after care that does an amazing job. I fully recommend JL hair collective thank you so much jorden!

I had my hair done this morning by Tayla and it looks great. I really can’t understand how people can leave negative reviews on this salon. They are a quality salon, and whilst their prices may not be the cheapest around, you get what you pay for. If you are looking for the cheapest looking hair in Lilydale then this is not the place for you. If you want good quality, healthy, lovely looking hair, then you’ve come to the right place.

I moved up to the Eastern suburbs 2 years ago and have finally found an amazing hairdresser. Jordan and Taylor listened and understood my vision for my hair. Jordan was able to offer her expertise on what would look best for my hair and it’s turned out so beautifully. Taylor also did a superb job curling my hair. I rebooked immediately! I couldn’t recommend a business more highly! Thanks so much for my new hair!

Was not happy with the results, my hair colour came out looking exactly the same bar the cut/wash and oil. I messaged the next day explaining the situation. The salon made no effort the fix or offer any solution to fixing my hair even though I paid over $200. Would not recommend this salon

First time going to this hair salon & I was super impressed. I will 100% be going back. Tay coloured & cut my hair and I could not have been happier. For an apprentice, she was brilliant she will go far! Salon is also so beautiful, offer a list of services qnd drinks.

Amazing hairdressers! I've been going for half head highlights and cuts for the last few years. I've had Jorden and Taylah before and can highly recommend both. My hair looks and feels great. They really know what they are doing!! Really reasonable prices too.

When I came in here with blonde hair and said I wanted to go red they didn’t shut me down and made me feel great. These guys are the best and they don’t try to force anything on you because they don’t think it looks “good”. Definitely recommend.
