Terrible Delivery Experience with JCPenney and Ryder Last Mile Rating: 1 Star (out of 5) I am beyond disappointed with the delivery experience I had today after purchasing a couch from JCPenney. They used Ryder Last Mile as their delivery company, and I must say, the service was appalling. The two delivery men were not only unprofessional but also seemed to lack the necessary experience to do their job. This couch was meant for my elderly parents, who are 89 and 79 years old. When the delivery guys arrived, they claimed that they couldn't bring the couch inside because it wouldn't fit through the door in its box. My 89-year-old mom suggested that they take the couch out of the box to make it fit, but they refused, saying they weren't allowed to touch the couch and would have to leave it outside. This is not what I was promised when I made the purchase at JCPenney. I was explicitly told that the delivery service included unboxing, delivering the couch to the living room, and removing all packaging and boxes from the home. The whole experience left my elderly mom so upset that she called me, crying, from the other side of town. It's unacceptable that JCPenney and Ryder Last Mile would treat their customers in such a disrespectful manner. I am extremely unhappy with the service provided by both JCPenney and Ryder Last Mile. I will never use either of these companies again, and I strongly caution others against doing so. The customer service my parents received is by far the worst I have ever encountered from any company.

I would give it zero stars if I could. One lady that works in the jewelry department called my necklace fake (it was not). I bought it from them, and I had my receipt; she didn't bother looking at the receipt. I did tell her manager about her nasty attitude. My second time at the jewelry department, they had a few women standing around doing nothing. My husband asked one of them if she could ring us up, and the lady said no go to the beauty department. Even though this lady wasn't busy and could have helped us. We walked over to the beauty department, and they only had one lady working there. She's busy with a customer and you can tell this customer will be there for a while. So I walk back over to the same lady in jewelry and I tell her can you just ring me up? There's no one else here. She rolls her eyes and rings us up. As if it's a huge inconvenience for her. Worst customer service I've ever had in my life. This place is garbage, and needless to say, I won't be going back ever again.

I really do like shopping at JCPenney as they have good deals. What I don't like are the cashiers. La Donna has been there about 25 years, I've seen her pins on her name badge. In the last year she has rang me out at least 4 times. She's always hesitant and gives you a hard time when using your coupons. She always makes uncomfortable comments about my spending. Like you would think she would be happy that I'm spending money not looking at me like I'm a thief. I once stopped coming here for over 6 months and recently started shopping here again. I don't know but that girl has a problem with Latina girls for sure.. Either that or she works on commission and refuses to take coupons. I literally told her to just scan the coupon and stop telling me I won't save. And after she was like oh look I guess you did save.. She's the reason I might stop going there again.

THE MANAGER BY THE NAME OF ALEX HAS HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! I guess they are just hiring anybody at these stores nowadays SMH.. JcPenney sold me a pair of men's dress shoes that had obviously been worn by someone else already & claimed that they were the last pair in stock..so after waiting 30 minutes for Alex "the manager" to be found he refused to make the situation right although the store was clearly at fault because those shoes were so worn to the point that they had creases in the toe area & dirt on the bottom & shouldn't have been sold to any one. Alex wanted me to purchase a different pair of shoes that were more expense then the shoes that I originally purchased & at full price.. Where they do that at?? I WILL NEVER SHOP AT JCPENNEY EVER AGAIN IN LIFE!! I'm sure they don't care anyways.

I told them I want the other half of my foundation or my money back and they tried to say that I already received the foundation!!!!! Even tho I called them the day my order came in wrong! This company has horrible customer service and I would Never recommend it to anyone. I will be canceling my card and I suggest that you all do the same !

I ordered some fine jewelry online to be shipped to the store. It stated about 5 days. I kept getting emails about 1 item saying it was in transit to the store. It had been 12 days so I called customer service. I waited awhile on hold. Got a not so nice man who told me it had been at the store for awhile. I just hadn't received the update. I said your system had the same info. He got mad & transfered me somewhere without telling me where. Called back to get his name. No one would give me his badge # or anything. Very unhappy with Custer service & the service I received as a whole. Don't think I'll order from here again. Disappointed . I do love their jewelry though!

I never write reviews but I had to because of how rude Deb was. If you are going to treat people like this why be in retail. I waited in line patiently and needed a price check. She told me to leave the register because it was going to “TAKE A WHILE” (it already had been a long time of me waiting in line and at the register). I get out of line and wait just for her to leave to jewelry and never help me. I went to her to jewelry because I really wanted the item and she told me to get back in line at juniors and wait AGAIN. I wasted at least 30 minutes and ended up not being able to purchase the item I wanted because I never was told the price.

Returned earrings at jewelry department. 1 woman was on her cell phone seen me and wouldn't acknowledge me even speaking to her. Secound woman had a friend she was checking out.I waited 30 min to return 1 thing. Then I politely asked her to return them. She asked why? I stated the clasp does not hold. Also there hurt my ears. Then she asks would you like to see anything else. I said yes please the tree of life neclace. So then she refunds me after asking. Then tells me you better buy gold then and just had a bad attitude towards me for no reason. sucks ,That it seems people are mean to me. For the way ,I look it seems?

I returned 3 men's long sleeved polo shirts I had ordered for my husband for Christmas. They are great shirts and for $30 which I bought on sale for $11.99 was even better. The only problem was that I originally ordered 5, but only 3 were available for pick up by Christmas. After Christmas I was notified the balance of my order was ready and found all 5 shirts, including 3 duplicates. Today I returned the duplicate shirts and ordered 3 different colored shirts, which were each on sale for $8.99 instead of $11.99 as before! So, I saved money today, which I love to do! I love my JC Penney!

I was very disappointed with post covid JCPenney. Their advertisement for bathing suits were a bit disceptive. I ordered online a tankini bathing suit and found out that it only was the top part. I returned it because I wanted the whole suit with the bottom. First they charged me shipping to pick it up at the store, and they didn't refund me the shipping when I returned it. I was not satisfied with the chain at all when I broused around the store because their prices really went up while the quality remained the same. The good part was their employees were very nice and helpful.

Very disappointed in jcpenney, the staff was horrible. Such a bad experience I went in to replace the battery for my watch and the worker must have been new because she broke my watch. Than they tell me to come back another day that they will try to fix it. Long story short I come back and now the manager is harassing me , being super rude like if it was my fault. I paid 400 when I purchased it and now they only want to give me 150 store credit or just take my broken watch back. By the way store credit like I don't even want to shop at their store with that kind of staff.

Waited 20 minutes to do a return while customers who were picking up orders came after me, were taken before me. Told this was store policy. Pretty poor customer service. Each customer should be treated as valuable not just those picking up orders. Had to ask the "customer service" person to call the manager to get help, as she didn't think of that on her own. Penney's may want to work on training their "service" personnel in better customer service strategies, like calling for help when there is a line forming and you're taking new arrivals before those waiting.

My wife and I have shopped at JCPenney for more than 60 years in Michigan, Ohio and Nevada. We have always been satisfied with the merchandise that they carry. Their employees have always been very personable and helpful at all locations we visited. We have bought items for our home, men's and women's clothing and jewelry. We have bought birthday and Christmas gifts and have sent them to relatives in other states. We will continue to shop at JCPenney.

This location is the worst!! I went in yet again for a peel and reveal sale as per my text from the company and 3 staff members said I was wrong. They didn't have it. I finally spoke with a manager who gave me a coupon to peel. I will never be back. Took me 30 minutes just to get it. I'm going to a different location to use it. Why aren't they educating their staff? Why have them if they don't hand them out. Just don't offer them.

Ok. Store is a bit dilapidated. Deals are great but would be nice if prices were just consistent and didn't have to just shop the deals, as the regular price on anything is a joke. Returning anything is a pain, you have it shipped to home but then have to drive to the store to return it..ugh...I guess that's why Amazon is shutting these retail giants out. Get with the program Penny's or you will follow toys R us-- o u t...

I bought some jeans online and they were too big so I ended up returning them to the store. I showed her my email from my order n and was refunded my money by way of it going back on my card (the refund was in the acct the nxt day) Unfortunately the jeans I wanted to get in a smaller size were all sold out and it just let the air out of my sails, cuz I truly just wanted the jeans. I have been doing quite a bit of shopping here.. along with pick up orders. Each time they have given me the wrong items... I understand things happen. But if I put in a order for black shoes and you give me cognac shoes.. it's upsetting that things aren't double even triple checked... Please train your associates that details matter.. I will definitely be thinking twice about shopping here..

There were two registers open in the entire store, and the cashiers were painfully slow. I waited in line to check out for 20 minutes, and in that time, they checked out 3 people. Absolutely unacceptable for an anchor shop. It's not hard to see why they're going out of business. I could have gotten what I wanted cheaper on Amazon and it would have taken less time to check out.

I have always loved this JCP at Meadows Mall. But when I did an order online for the first time I went to pick up my Santa and Deon was at the counter and she was so kind and helpful. She even showed me how to find a coupon for another item for a discount. I was half way there on the site and she took the time to help. She was just sweet as pie! Thank you Alisha Deon! :)

Found the department for the dresses chose one and a pair of shoes quickly and was out the door in less than an hour. I love to shop for clothes in store. I have always liked shopping at JCPENNEY, store was clean and pretty easy to navigate. Check out clerk was just a little bit rude. No greeting, kind of threw my purchase at me. Didn't say ' have a nice day or Happy Holidays' or anything. But I will return because I enjoy shopping there and tend to find good deals and sales on the things I like.

One of the lost stores is back. Bargins galore, neatly stack items on display. The store houses Sephora cosmetics booth adding an upscale department store feel. I found customer service friendly and polite making this a good shopping experience. It may seem hidden but it is locate at the opposite end of the mall.

Kat in the photography department was absolute disgusting! She was rude, aggressive, and hateful towards a family waiting for pictures and that put a terrible taste in our mouth. We walked out without getting our pictures done and will not be shopping here period. Will be going to Cabellas instead to see Santa.

Hadn't been here for years! Well stocked, good variety of brands AND sizes! Store looked clean and stock well maintained. Very few customers. Fewer customer service representatives. JC Penny has always been my to go place when I can't find something. As a life long ( since the age of 10 to now 66) Penny shopper I always have loved the quality and selection . Penny's has been a family favorite. The Mall is a little sad since Sears left but as long as there is a Penny's there is hope.

Terrible management, 40 people in line and one poor teenager working the only register. When I called, the very bored sounding operator told me "Well, it's not like we staff enough people to cover EVERY register. You can go somewhere else". And retailers wonder why people shop more and more online

Clothes area by Levi's... Good Luck finding anything. Customers are so inconsiderate tossing jeans wherever looking for their size or cut. No one could keep up without standing there full time. Jewelry sales eager to please. Nice selection, but even with discounts far more expensive than Sears.

Great store with a ton of inventory. I was happily surprised when we walked in because I was under the impression that JC Penney was having problems keeping stores open. Not this one, good deals (lots of stuff on sale) and plenty of shoppers. The store is cleaned, well maintained and stocked.

The store seems laid out pretty well, but I didn't feel like the selection in some departments was large enough. The service was excellent and I was spoken to and asked if I needed help. The only reason I did not give more stars is the bathroom was a little sketch and needed to be cleaned.

I think this is one of the best stores around this area when it comes to the big and tall section. They usually have more stock and different varieties compared to other locations around. This is my go to place. Only complaint recently is the lack of open registers and cashiers.
