"Worst customer service ever"
"HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE"
"CHECK BOTH SNEAKERS BEFORE PURCHASING!!! I’ve been in this store on 8 occasions, have tried on 8 different sneakers, 8 different pair have fit me great but I’ve never bought a pair"
"TL/DR: Basically, I had a fast and clean experience on the website as well a fast, helpful, and painless experience in store when I need help with product knowledge and exchanges"
So I had previously rated this store 4 stars for great customer service from the ladies that work the floor attending the customers. Today I am giving it a 1 star due to my level of disappointment with the cashiers. PLEASE IF YOU ORDERED SOMETHING ONLINE DO NOT GO INTO THAT STORE. THE CASHIERS DO NOT KNOW WHAT THEY'RE DOING AND NEED BASIC PROFESSIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE TRAINING. They're rude!! And unprofessional. I ordered for the first time through AfterPay. (Gives you credit to make purchases) basically pays for your items and you pay AfterPay every two weeks. I came into the store to exchange but the item was already sold out so I wanted to return it. I mentioned I had used AfterPay as the method of payment. I was informed they needed to call AfterPay in order to return it. So instead of calling I was told to wait on the side until that one cashier at the register takes care of the people on the line. I waited about 20 minutes before I asked how much longer, at this time there were 2 people at the register, one if them a man who rudely told me with a nasty attitude that I must WAIT for the other cashier because she was the one dealing with me. HE ALSO MADE A COMMENT SAYING "WHY I USED AFTERPAY ANYWAY" WHICH WAS NOT HIS BUSINESS AS HE DID NOT KNOW MY SITUATION AND THE ITEM WAS PAID FOR ANYWAY !.. I FOUND THIS TO BE SO DISCRIMINATORY AND UNPROFESSIONAL... About 40 minutes in, the cashier "taking care" of me took another customer which also needed to make a return and she needed to make a call as well. So after all the waiting I had already done. She made the call for that customer first, then got upset and gave me attitude!! Because I complained to her asking when she's was going to make my call and about how long I was waiting already. SHE IMMEDIATELY GAVE ME ATTITUDE AND RUDELY TOLD ME I COULD MAKE THE CALL MYSELF. WHICH I WASN'T TOLD AT THE BEGINNING !! When she finally called she told me calls were going to voicemail so she could not process my return after I was in the store for 1 hour already. I asked if she could call their store customer care to find out why because that did not make any sense to me. I purchased through the finish line so as a customer I should be able to return the item to the same store!!! THE ICING ON THE CAKE INSTEAD IF ASKING ABOUT THE RETURN SHE ASKED FOR THEM TO EMAIL ME A RETURN LABEL INSTEAD SO I COULD DROP THE ITEM FOR SHIPPING AFTER I'M IN THE STORE IN PERSON WITH THE ITEM AND I OBVIOUSLY CAN NOT PRINT THE LABEL WITHOUT A PRINTER WHILE IN THE STORE. INSTEAD OF JUST PROCESSING MY RETURN WITHING THE STORE. I HAD TO RETURN HOME WITH THE ITEM AFTER WAITING ONE HOUR IN THE STORE !! WHICH CLEARLY SHOWS SHE DID NOT KNOW WHAT SHE WAS DOING!! Which was very upsetting and disappointing. I called the finish line customer service myself after getting home to ask about the issue and was informed they did not understand why the cashier did not process the in store return. I also called AfterPay and they called the store themselves because they did not understand why the return was not processed since AfterPay has nothing to do with the return. Please train your STAFF!!! Or get new ones !. THESE ARE BIG REASONS TO LOOSE CUSTOMERS!!
Worst customer service ever. I wanted to return a pair of shoes that were purchased 5 days before. I walked into the store, and asked an employee where should I go for a return. We were standing in the middle of the store walkway between shoe displays and the employee asked to see the shoes. I asked "Right here? shouldn't we go somewhere else?" Because traditionally in normal stores with normal employees who have at least half a brain would know that you should probably start a product return close to a cash register, or at least a counter which would aid a customer in being able to set down the item and not have to clumsily fumble around a shoe box and open it for an employ to inspect it. Then the employee took the shoes from me, and walked to the sales register without a word. That ended all hopes of communication skills. Then this young employee with all the power of Zeus proclaimed that the shoes had been worn and that I could not return them, however I could exchange them. I told him that they had not been worn. But I suppose with all his "special training" and keen eye to be aware of all his surroundings gave him the right to say Yea or Nay, almost as if it was his shining moment in emperor history. There was no offer of speaking with a manager, and I didn't want to waste any more of my time with this naïve person who seriously needed to be put on a time out or something. I tried to read his name tag and he told me his name with a smart ass attitude. Lesson learned: DO NOT GO HERE if you are a human being. I went to the Manhattan location and they accepted my return with no problems. Dear Finish Line, Customer service should be a number one priority when hiring sales people. At least try to hire people that know how to communicate. That's probably going to help you in the long run. And to the idiot child salesman, try to understand that customers need more than Neanderthal grunts and incomplete sentences. Next time pull on your big boy pants and realize that maybe a store manager would know how to handle certain situations better than you. Stick to pressing the cashier buttons and sliding credits cards. That should be safe enough for you.
HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I went yesterday to this location in Fordham road 12/15/2022 at around 7:40PM. Let me be clear how I rush after my 12 hr. shift in hospital run to my closest shoe store for my kids. We was greeted by a long hair fair skin lady. Who was very nice even offered cleaning products that I was going to purchase with the shoes I asked for. The shoes took forever to come up. Mean while about five workers are in a circle talking. When the shoes finally came I noticed my kids gave the worker the wrong shoe size. At this point, I have a new worker in my face tall dark skin with locks female. When I tell her about the shoe size she grabs the shoe I had and walked away without saying anything. I had to follow her to find out what were we doing and she didn't give me time to tell her I ordered another pair. Just completely walked away. At that moment a worker was bringing her the another pair shoe I ordered. The lady askes him what you want me do with this, he like give it to the lady your attending to. I see she clearly hates her job. At this point I felt like I'm being toss around because everyone clearly want go home. So I am not getting the service I needed. I walked out without buying anything. Never experienced such poor service. It shows you hire little kids who only care for a paycheck. Foot locker across the street WILLLLLL NEVERRRRRRRRRR.
CHECK BOTH SNEAKERS BEFORE PURCHASING!!! I’ve been in this store on 8 occasions, have tried on 8 different sneakers, 8 different pair have fit me great but I’ve never bought a pair. 1st off they only let you touch 1 sneaker at a time. Idk if it’s security purposes or the store trying to hide something. 2nd they take too long to bring sneakers out from the back. 3rd they take too long to check out. Sometimes there are three people behind the counter but not one is professional enough to say “someone will be with you shortly” even though that someone is one of them doing nothing but using their cellphone or talking about out of work gatherings. 4th since you only tried on one sneaker the other is behind the counter. That other sneaker in the box behind the counter has always been the sneaker in question for me. In the second sneaker of the 8 pairs I’ve tried on I’ve seen mold and mildew on 2 pair, 5 defective pair (suspiciously glued), and 1 very used sneaker while the one I tried on was brand new. Please check 100% of the item/s you buy here but I would recommend other reputable stores in the area.
TL/DR: Basically, I had a fast and clean experience on the website as well a fast, helpful, and painless experience in store when I need help with product knowledge and exchanges. So far, my personal experience with customer service is great. I purchased two shoes on the website (J12's + Prem 6" Timbs) thinking my usual sneaker size would suffice, but upon trying them on I knew I had to get them exchanged. I called this location to check if they had the Black Timbs in my modified size. Although they did not, Felicity (shout out), whom I spoke with told me to come in, try another style of Timbs to hone in on a size that fits and then ordered the ones I wanted for a store pickup. I did the same process with my J's the next day but with a different associate. Overall, fast, helpful and painless experience. This type of service keeps me loyal to a brand. Thank you.
I need your employees to know a LOT more of their own company's store policies. I ordered a pair of men's nikes online for store pick up. I got the confirmation email for my order but I never got an email saying to pick up the sneakers. So I called and was told over the phone that my order is ready for pick up. I get to the store to find out the employees dont even know about my order. Then they look it up in the system but tell me the size I ordered wasnt in stock, so she said she was gunna cancel my order. However, I wanted to be sure that I wasnt already charged for the sneakers. There were THREE employees behind the register and NOBODY knew how online store orders worked. Terrible customer service. You don't ever have to worry about me returning to this store.
This store is extremely unprofessional. I seen some beautiful Nike pink dunks that dropped online today so I sent my son to see if the store has. The manager victoria complete disrepects my son saying to stop asking her and She holding the dunk and not selling till march. Victoria then Walks away from my son in the middle of there conversation. I was in disbelief when I heard this because My son Has spending money every week in that store since they opened(Have Purchase Proof). I thought the whole point of a store was to sell a shoe they have and is even more crazy that the manager would treat a loyal customers like me and my son like this.
Honestly, I am only giving them one star because some of there sales associates are helpful besides that this store is terrible. I’m not to sure but I know that retail stores are supposed to be here for the community so why when the store has exclusive sneakers they do a fake raffle. I witnessed names being deleted from there system so they can put people they know to win the raffles. How am I supposed to even have a chance if they will delete my name and put someone elses. It’s already hard to get sneakers without paying crazy resell prices as it is would just like a chance. #stopthebackdoorPLZ
If I had the chose I would not give this review any stars at all. I just spoke with a young lady over the phone this evening and she was extremely disrespectful. I've been trying to get in contact with someone over at the JD sports in time square however, you can't get to anyone. I asks the young lady if she could help me. instead of her telling me no, she says if you couldn't get through to them what makes you think I can. As much as I wanted to stoop to her level I didn't. However, these companies really need to start training these employees correctly.
I thought the old manager was worse, the new store manager (Victoria) is even worse. She thinks people don’t know the return policy. She can’t take my return because the shoe is a “hot release” shoe. Please show me in your return policy where it says that…. She is doing this because when you return a shoe, their sales go down. Victoria makes you drive miles away to a different store and return there. Think twice before shopping here, there is a footlocker right across the street where employees will treat you with respect and accept any returns you have.
Store manager on Saturday afternoon around 3pm. Just to be clear. He rather stand on guard at the door as if he is security and have 4 other employees talking to each other. While theres about 8 customers on line including me..there was only one Male on the register. He (manager)told me I could leave when I asked if he can get someone else on the register to help move process and avoid congestion. So un professional and disappointed by his attitude. I felt bad that the workers were told to not help on register. Wouldn't recommend this location..
Customer service is horrible. The point of having a phone there is to answer questions. Have someone designated to do that if you claim you are so busy. U want me to drag boxes to the store just so I couldn't do my exchange when my questions could have been answered over the phone to avoid all that stress. Couldn't take the time to look for the shoe I wanted and when I get there with my boxes the shoe wasn't even available. Another question that could have been answered over the phone. Pointless
I’m never going back to that store. I got yelled at by the manager because I declined to complete a customer survey and provide my email address. After spending over $200 at the store. I declined because I had waited almost half an hour for my order to be brought to the cashier, only to be told there was none I had to take the item on display. I had to rush back to work. I get treated much better at McDonalds where I go to spend $8. Terrible woman. I’m never going back
Extremely not attentive. The worker that was suppose to attend to me smelled like high grade weed...eyes glossy and spaced out. I was in the process of buying 12 pair of snakers. He was so impatient that's I left. Went to Jimmy jazz across the street and spent 3200 dollars. Not only was my experience their a negative one, they lost a customer that spends thousands a year on Sneaker...I will never step foot in JD sports on Fordham or any where else.PEACE
This store is horrible I’m a great customer and shop at jd sports but the manager Victoria doesn’t know how to address people the right way and in certain situations she shouldn’t have a manager job making accusations of people being resellers to me that’s discrimination every time you get ready to do a transaction she comes with antics you don’t have to like the person but do your job and follow the rules
Bought a pair of the black air force ones on Sunday when I got home I noticed they gave me 2 left shoes. went back to the store they took FOREVER and didn't have one right shoe in my size. didn't explain anything to me went to refund me my money without explaining why they were refunding me my money. this store needs either more staff or more organization. not happy wont be back to this location.
thanks to brandon for his help … in JD my Experience here was a lil poor and bad i was waiting about a hour . but thanks to this young man i made it out he put effort into helping me and took his time to make sure i left with my item .. would i recommend this store … yes and no … yes if you have more ppl like brandon cares ! …
Visited this location yesterday there was at least 12-15 staffers in the store they were chatting amongst themselves and laughing they were was so loud and ignoring customers they really need to work on their customer service skills ... any ways I got a pair of adidas which I’m returning today because it was $30 less at footlocker
I went in there and their staff has the worst Customer Service skills. No one greeted me. They held a 10 min conversation with each other while I was for assistance. On top of all that, the store manager she spoke very loudly about her issues with other managers on the sales floor and it was just really unprofessional.
These sales associates that work at JD are very rude no manners it took one of them approximately 25 mins to ask if I needed help mind you the store was empty at 1:00 pm in the afternoon never again . The one downtown is way better helpful and manners everyone in here has a face from the man to the women disgusting …
I came into the store to exchange a sweater I purchased online, it took a little longer to get out of the store then expected because they were having technical problems with the registers but as soon as it was up and running I was taken care of, plus I found a nice Adidas hat for $10! Thanks ladies …
They were very kind and patient explaining how the return policy works. They were very busy trying to help everyone and every customer seemed to have a lot of issues. Yet they took their time and helped everyone and the cashier was very mindful that I parked in metered parking. This is a great store.
Clean, well lit, modern swagger in apparel. Nice staff. A lil slow to comprehend, maybe cause the music was club octave. Causing a fraction of delay in response to the request. Otherwise decent price point considering they're in competition with other urban gear merchants. …
Went in this store around 430ish yesterday, nobody acknowledged me when I wanted a pair of shoes to try on and purchase them. I stood there for 20mins and all they did was chit chat and play around in the store. VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE‼️‼️Poor Management also.
Horrible store ... Seems to be forgotten from the streamlined supply of the midtown Manhattan and other well stocked locations , no varied colorways , no new models , they always send you "to buy online cus they don't have it" , it's like an abandoned store !
Hi I’m a loyal customer who’s been shopping at jd almost every week . Victoria and Amy discriminate me saying they won’t call me for no raffles because i shop there week. Jd please fix this issue I’m a huge sneaker fan who loves to wear all the new releases
This place is the worst. Full of young adultd with no supervision. Everytime I shop here 3x now I've had to wait over 15minuted to get what I'm trying to buy. Spend your money elsewhere. Footlocker or Jimmy jazz. STAY AWAY FROM THIS GHETTO STORE.
If I could give 0 stars I would, I went in on 3/11 to purchase some sneakers which I had never worn and tried returning them today , key word “tried” because the supposed “store manager” with the red hair gave me all kinds of false excuses
Never returning here or to any JD sport sneaker store. I was in the market for some sneakers, and this place looked new. For anyone who does want to read all this, they are rude and make you wait around for nothing. As soon as I enter and
Sales associates couldn’t make eye contact with you there aren’t even any deals except for children clothing and when we wait 10 mins for our size shoes we ended flagging him down and told us that his shift just ended worst service ever
Came in here to purchase sneakers for my little cousin. The customer service was great. I had to make a return before my purchase, the manager Victoria swiftly settled it and gave me some ideas on what to get for my cousin next time
The website says it opens at 10 but the doors weren't open. As I'm waiting there's an employee that pays me no mind stops talks to a follow employee and jokes on I guess she doesnt know we open at 11... horrible customer service...
Why are your stores still open ?! You are putting your employees in danger. All other sneaker stores have closed their doors. This is a pandemic and your employees lives should matter. Their safety should be first.
ANY TIME YOU GO IN A SNEAKER STORE EVERYBODY IS DOWN YOUR BACK TRYING TO HELP, THIS PARTICULAR TIME NOT ONE PERSON THEIR GAVE ME ANY ACKNOWLEDGEMENT AND I WAS THERE WITH SNEAKER IN HAND SAME SPOT FOR 15 MINUTES ...
Was in the this store for 30 minutes with little to no communication regarding my sneakers. Multiple people complaining about waiting a long period of time for sneakers but atleast they were able to try a pair on.
Amazing service, all the staff were very nice but the manager Rheid went above and beyond to help me out with my husband's birthday gift. Definitely the best store on Fordham for buying sneakers …
Finish Line is an American retail chain that sells athletic shoes and related apparel and accessories. i purchased recently some sneakers online and i am happy with my purchase. i recommend them with 4 stars.
Horrible customer service and even worse management, it’s like the DMV here the employees do whatever they feel like, no help whatsoever, seriously spend your money someplace else, this place is NOT it
When you walk in a store you should feel welcomed I went to jdsports on fordham and they don't say hi nothing just stare at you. If you go to the store you provide customer service for everyone
Finish Line might just be perfect store for someone like myself, I simply love their collection of running shoes and it's seems to me they've had a sale almost every single day last year.
I went in and bought a pair of air max 200. Very good price , but the sales person never put my rewards towards my account. I suggest u make sure they put your credits on your account
called to check if shoes where available and they said yes, drove for 30 minutes, i get there and guess what? they never had my size since i called...smh the worse custoner service!!!
Love shopping here. The staff very helpful. The best part is the staff doesn't jump on you as soon as you walk in. They let you look around but they are very attentive to your needs.
They have only Nike shoes. No Asics, Saucony, Brooks. Not the typical "Finish Line" experience. Hardly a large selection and not at all a store for runners. Mostly flashy sneakers.
Good selection of shoes, but the employees have their own good time in the stores not paying attention to service customers. They are very loud, and you feel ignore as a customer.
Not good customer service but I will leave a 5 star rating if you go follow @monopolyace on tiktok and @monopoly_ace on ig and Monopoly Ace on all streaming platforms …
Great workers , helped so much with my son and I kinda learned a few things from them ! I will always shop the this store . they will always get a guaranteed commission from me.
Claimed my jordan 1 fearless from this store everything is a good experience staff was nice and friendly definitely going back to this store keep up the good work guys
I had a pair of shoes reserved. When I arrived the line was pretty long but it moved quickly. There was a lot of staff members on hand to answer questions.
What happened to @finisline @ Fordham,Bronx ?? They did closed for good?!?! I went to Fordham and saw them earlier closed at 4:30 pm something yesterday.
Great experience, especially on a release day, the staff was friendly, the service was quick and the best part no chaos. Will certainly shop here again.
Never anythingg of value in this one, they apprently either get last picks at everything or the management is not doing its job of copping the new new
Their register service is really slow. Horrible customer service. Angela, the manager is not fit to be leader. She’s nasty and very unprofessional.
Good store with many cool designs. I wish they had the pair I was looking for. Ended with purchasing a different pair since the price was so low.
Steve, natalie and augustine provided excellent customer service to a loyal customer. Thanks finishline fordham rd and dont forget that Chris.
Young man that helped me exchange my sneakers was very patient and friendly. We even purchased another pair of sneakers for a great bargain.
Just like every store nowadays they be selling shoes back doors like big releases. A lot of these so call managers got to be fire. Nowadays.
I came here to purchase my master 12's with my friends mother , but they said 1 pair per family &' refused to sell her another one , …
One employee told me the size of the product I needed wasn't being sold. Theb I asked another employee and they had the product available.
Hmm..not bad for a store that has unique name brands other than nike.thank god.prices are decent n worth it... atmosphere calm and clean.
It was terrible serviced, I was ask for a shoes size and they took mad long on giving me an answer. And at the end they didn’t have it.
A little disappointing that 20 mins prior to close they stop letting customers in the store and claim that the registered was closed.
Worst experience ever. 30-45 minutes to get shoes. No one asks you if you need help. Everyone has a attitude. Never ever again.
Employees acted no one worked there when I went to purchase sneakers, except this one girl helping three customers at one time.
Found some cuties that look nice on my feet. But the wait to just get my size was alil long. Anyways customer was helpful
Nice store, but when you're dealing with young people this is the result. Unprofessional and not customer friendly at all
If I give this store no star I would’ve They really disrespectful they don’t greet you at the door . Bad business .
Good selection of products but the staff here locks the doors at 7:30-7:40 and tells everyone the store is closed!
Pretty neat store well organized, well lit, staff seems nice. The products priced accordingly and with variety
The staff in the store are very helpful. I was also directed to where i needed to see the female sneakers.
Way better than the one in cross county. The managers and staff are kind. The merch is fresh there too...
They need people who know how to set up membership cards, so when you spend $200, you get your points in.
Nice store in Fordham. Like the variety of stuff from clothes to household items. Very clean store …
Worst jd store the manager only applys coupons to his people that's not fair I rather go to timesquare
Jo is great. Helped me find comfortable sneakers on sale. If you go there he's got you. …
My go to.place for footwear. Very friendly staff. Lots of different sneaker styles to choose from.
Excellent! I walked in just to look and a shoe I've been eyeing for a while was 50% off …
0110526 is a has great interpersonal skills... The best customer service ive had in a while...
Cashiers are slow as hell and one of them a smart mouth. Customer service needs improvement!

That store in fordham has really bad costumers services and the staff are rude.
Closed earlier than what it says online! Associate was very rude on the phone.
all the time thinking that you will leave without paying horrible experience
Excellent customer service, the store manager is very nice and professional
Nice service friendly , knowledgeable staff . Im going to go back soon.
Timing is just a bit too long but maybe cause its Saturday & low staff
I called and asked one question and then another one they hung up.
The place had fast service, no lines, and the staff were polite
Staff is helpful and I like their selection of Air Maxs !!!!
