The Jacksonville Intl Airport, located in the northeastern part of Florida, has long been criticized for its outdated and lackluster appearance. From the moment travelers step foot into the terminal, they are greeted with an ambiance that resembles an airport from a third-world country rather than a major transportation hub in the United States. The first thing that strikes visitors is the overall dreariness of the airport. The architecture and design are reminiscent of the 1960s, with faded walls, worn-out carpets, and outdated signage. The lack of natural light and dimly lit hallways create a gloomy atmosphere, making it difficult for passengers to navigate their way through the airport. The amenities offered at the Jacksonville Airport also leave much to be desired. The seating areas throughout the terminal are uncomfortable, with worn-out chairs and limited seating options. The dining options are limited and unappetizing, with a lack of variety and quality compared to other modern airports. Travelers looking for a pleasant shopping experience will be disappointed by the limited number of stores, offering only basic necessities and souvenirs. Furthermore, the lack of modern technology is striking. Outdated flight information displays and public address systems are often difficult to hear or read, causing confusion and frustration among passengers. The airport's Wi-Fi service is slow and unreliable, making it challenging for travelers to stay connected or get work done during their layovers. Perhaps most concerning is the lack of cleanliness and maintenance. The restrooms often appear dirty and poorly maintained, with broken fixtures and outdated facilities. The overall cleanliness of the airport leaves much to be desired, giving a further sense of neglect and disregard for passenger comfort. In contrast to other airports in the country, the Jacksonville Intl Airport lacks the modern amenities and conveniences that travelers have come to expect. It fails to provide a comfortable and efficient experience, leaving passengers with a sense of disappointment and frustration. Efforts have been made over the years to improve the airport's infrastructure and facilities, but progress has been slow. The lack of investment and attention to detail has resulted in an airport that is far from meeting the standards of a major transportation hub. In conclusion, the airport's dated appearance and lack of modern amenities make it resemble an airport from a third-world country rather than a major hub in the United States. The dreary atmosphere, limited amenities, and overall neglect contribute to an underwhelming and disappointing experience for travelers. It is high time for the Jacksonville Airport authorities to prioritize renovations and upgrades to bring it up to the standards expected in the 21st century.
I wanted to write this because I wanted to share it with the rest of the world. Jacksonville airport (JAX) is the best in the world in my humble opinion. I Travel around the world internationally. I visited many countries, from the east to the west, including Japan, South Korea, China, Malaysia, India, Thailand, Bahrain, KSA, Qatar, UAE, Lebanon, Egypt, Jordan, South Africa, Tunisia, Morocco, UK, Ireland, Italy, France, Germany, Netherlands, Greece, and of course the United States. When you walk out, you will see a display about flight history. It’s like a small museum. The airport is very clean, and let’s not forget the person who plays the piano. You can feel the good energy and vibes when you are at that airport. On my way back I had a horrible experience due to flight cancellation from Jax to JFK. When I arrived at the airport the young man who was helping me with my luggage, took my luggage, carried it around and took me to the airline agent and stayed with me throughout the whole time, till my reservation was fixed. The lady [Elain] she went out of her way to help me out. She was an amazing person. She made my horrible experience enjoyable because of her dedication and kindness. Above all at that airport, the most impressive part is the staff. Everyone who works there, seems truly happy, even TSA staff. They were all cheerful, well experienced , pleasant. They check everything out thoroughly but are well organized. I’m telling you this airport is like Heaven and everyone who works there are Angels. JAX management, please keep doing what you’re doing. This review was written by myself, no one have asked me to do that.
The airport was easy to get around and find, no long waits, i took jet blue and Jet blue itself was great. I would give it a 5, but the people that push the wheel chairs need to be nicer, I wanted to give it a 3 because of them but it wouldn't be fair for other employees that was kind, I have to be push by wheel chair and it is hard enough for me to feel embarrassed because of my weight which is due to a medical problem, but when the employees came to push my wheel chair they make it obvious that they have to push me, one asked my son to push me, I was sooo embarrassed I wanted to cry, I simply stood up and walked with my cane off the plane, couldn't breathe but I just wanted it to be overwith, I mean I'm sorry that I have a condition and I'm getting help for it but why make me feel worse, the other person kept complaining how their hands hurt and kept stopping and was trying to ask someone else for help, I had to stop her and tell her I'll walk the rest of the way I couldn't anymore, my son's were worried because of my breathing, we was able to find another wheel chair and she could only say are you sure, I put my head down, I felt so ashamed, not sure if they work for jetblue or just the air port but my experience is a 3 not even a 4, but because the stewardess and the ticket staff being amazing they shouldn't have to be penalized for the other employees
Why doesn’t Delta show up on the map so that we can review it? United does. Other airlines do. But not the lackluster Delta. The only good thing I can say about Delta is that it’s not American Airlines. Is it normal policy to open the check-in desk 50 minutes before boarding? Do other airlines disable the ability to print a baggage tag unless an employee is present and remembers to turn in the ability? I was standing in the baggage drop line - knowing full well I needed a baggage tag that I had already paid for. But all the kiosk were carry on only. I had assumed that once employees showed up they would enable the feature. But no - they showed up and a few minutes later told me the line I was standing in was for X. Which was not true. So I stand in the other line, no biggie. 10 minutes later they enable to feature to print baggage tags at the kiosk and people immediately start doing that and stand in the line I was just in. But it’s ok because the employee attending that line may have been special needs or not have had coffee yet because he did 1 for every 2 that the ladies in the other lines did. If for some reason you read this far down - besides delta it’s a good airport. TSA was quick. Shops open early. Lots of room, places to plug stuff
This has always been a great airport, in my opinion, but the new automated security system for baggage checks is anything but efficient. The past few trips, my bags have been flagged due to all sorts of issues with the system. Once, it was a tray bumbing into another tray, so they ran the bag again..... the same thing happened. Today got through the TSA precheck line and the card reader wouldn't read my ID so i went back to ticketing and the clerk said everything was fine, but the system has been kicking a lot back so she printed outnew tickets. Went back to the TSA line, and the same thing happened. The security check said to the person helping me "I just told him to go back to ticketing." I explained that I've already done that and got new tickets as proof, then the supervisor came over and let me through. I then put my bag on the x-ray line again..... and it got flagged for some unknown reason and had to be searched. All I can say is that I've never had to jump through so many obstacles to fly in the past at this airport. I understand it's a new system, but there's a lot of bugs to work out. I'm just glad I always account for extra time at the airport.
This airport is beautifully done on the inside and is a stellar airport. Happy to see the new concourse being started! However-the pickup zone has become an absolute NIGHTMARE. My husband is a frequent flyer and travels multiple times a month out of JIA. Picking him up has gotten increasingly worse. The “security “ allows people to come in and just park and sit making it difficult to pick up your passenger. This past Friday night at 12:30AM was absurd with cars parked 2-3 rows in just sitting making the line backed way up out of the pickup zone. Security needs to not allow parking/waiting. If you don’t see your passenger ready for pickup - you need to make another loop and keep it flowing. This is how it’s done at all the airports we have ever traveled to-so not sure why JIA not following suit. Not sure how there weren’t accidents in there Friday night. People who had their passengers then couldn’t get out due to everyone being parked around them. Ridiculous. With the new concourse being built and additional flights coming in-if this isn’t remedied it’s going to be a bigger problem trying to pick up anyone there.
Not crowded, quick checking lines, during the middle of the week one thing I don't understand is why you have to pay to get on a fast lane. To get checked in. There should be other ways to qualify to get on the fast lane with out having to pay or only the ones that can afford it would be the ones that benefit. This is not only happening in Jax but all around the United States airports. Our airport also host musicians every once in a while, which is a nice addition to our ever growing city. The airport is in excellent condition inside and outside the parking is really adorable having a long term parking which it cost you $ 6.00 a day with a bus that takes you to your airline. If you ever need a taxi do not go to the booth outside since they charge you and arm and a leg, the price to the Southside. For me it was $ 75.00 + TAs and gratuity so you could end up spending $ 100.00 Don't get me wrong please this is and excellent service. The airport facilities such as restaurant, shops and bathrooms are clean and well stacked.
Horrible. I went to the counter to ask if someone can help us at the kiosk to approve our bags because my boyfriend is military and we had been standing there for about 15 minutes waiting- I asked a SIMPLE QUESTION because I didn’t want to MISS our flight. He said “well is it 45 minutes or less?”. I said “no.” Simply, not being rude telling him it’s in 47 minutes. The man at the American counter quickly threw up his arms in frustration saying loudly that he “is one person and can not cut himself in half”- his exact words. Did I ask him to do that? NO. Did I badger him with questions? NO. I’m a fairly intelligent person and I do not appreciate the demeanor he was using towards me when I gently asked a simple question. Never flying with them again. Deferring anyone from flying with them. Such disrespect I’m appalled. I used to love and talk so highly of them. Not anymore.
So very bad experience here. I had a flight cancelled yesterday to go to Tucson and they did pay for our ticket for the next day same time. I went through TSA and they took a few things out yesterday which was fine but since the cancellation I had to go back home. I came back in for the flight today and o did not add anything in my bags. They took more things out of my bags and I told them that it was already checked yesterday and I know it’s there job to check and take things out of it’s over the limit but I already got it checked and they approved it. This place is the worst and they constantly bully you. Now i have to spend another $100 to get my products that were already accepted the other day. Also I saw they don’t throw it away. They put it in a bin. They are just stealing all of our products and using it for themselves for free. Like wow.
Jacksonville is a nice little airport! Very easy to navigate and gates, restaurants, and all is well organized. One thing to keep in mind is this: Even though the airport doors are open in the departure terminals, the security checkpoint doesn’t open until 4:00 am. So you’ll have to wait if your are here early. I didn’t know that. Also, I was flying with American Airlines and they too, do not open until 4:00 am. 3:45 am is the earliest they open. This is only if you need to check in bags. The self-serving machines will only print boarding passes. At 4 am or so, they get rebooted and now you can print bag passes. Same goes with the restaurants. Right now it is 4:20 am and they are closed, I am assuming they open at either 5 or 6 am. But the airport is comfortable, and going through the security was not too bad!
I flew into the JAX airport on frontier. This is the closest airport to Gainesville on frontier. The airport has been nicely remodeled. It's a nice size airport for Jacksonville and easy to get around. They seem to have plenty of restaurants and shopping. Most rental cars are onsite and was easily accessible from the airport following Baggage and Ground transportation. The airport was easy to get to upon my return. TSA was very busy with a long line but it only took about 20 minutes to get through early Friday morning. We took off from concourse A that had plenty of seating with charging stations at the seats. The gates are pretty close with an automatic walking escalator within the concourses which is great for those who are concern with lots of walking between gates.
It had a smaller airport feel. When we landed it was easy to find baggage claim. A gentleman working there helped us with our bags. We stacked our bags on his flatbed dolly and he took us outside and across the street. He showed us the shuttle that would take us to our rental car and even helped load our bags. On our return trip we were let out right at the concierge outside. We found a cheap Priceline deal that did not include checked bags. The concierge was a nice guy and helped us get a deal on the bags we needed to check especially after we mentioned we had traveled there to go to the Mayo Clinic. Airports aren't always the funnest part of a trip. Jacksonville International Airport, however, was a positive experience.
Thank you, JAX airport, for your speedy kiosk check-point ticket services... We really appreciate your walk-up kiosk to attain our airline tickets and "lickedy-split! We rated your airport 5 stars Because of your friendly staff, clean restrooms, recognition of all armed services, volunteer piano entertainers, storytelling of culture heritage, and visitors center. And easy to read departure menus for flight numbers, destinations, times for departure/arrivals, and most importantly, convenient gate numbers for connecting flights... Of, "More miles... "More memories... Thanks again, "JAX," your airport bistro style eatery's, is great for a convenience, travelers experience...
I experienced the easiest and best baggage check and drop off I've ever had. I travel a lot and go to a lot of airports. It's always time consuming and a struggle to check your bag and get to your gate. American airlines made it so easy and quick. Their staff was so helpful and friendly. I had an issue with 4 different check kiosks. Nicole Zalud saw me struggling and she came helped and had my issue resolved in no time. She was so nice and helpful I wanted to pay her for the help! William at the check bag desk was also amazing he helped us with our over weight bags with a quickness so we made our flight on time. Thank William and Nicole and American airlines for training an amazing staff.
Jacksonville International Airport is a smaller airport, but always nice. They keep it very clean, always light well and easy to navigate. Security is easy and quick to get through (most) times unless they have a busy schedule at that time. Still recommend arriving early. They have bars, food, and shops for you to utilize before or after the security checkpoint. Smoking is restricted at the airport to some small areas off to the sides so non smokers don't have to deal with smoke. The bathrooms are normally always clean. They have a lyft/uber designation right outside bagging claim so you don't have to go far to do ride share. Def one of the nicer, although smaller airports.
The airport itself is nice and clean, however security check in was an absolute nightmare. We waited in line for an hour and a half and still missed our flight, along with many others. This was super early in the morning too. The line for security practically started as soon as you walked in the airport entrance. Make sure you give yourself plenty of time. I've been to many airports and this was by far the slowest for getting through the security process. For reference from the photos, that line goes all the way down the ramp, goes left, and then wraps around many lines before even getting to security to go through.
First time flying out of this location. TSA was quick. A variety of parking options. We choose economy parking that has a shuttle that runs about every 5 minutes from the airport. They are decorated for Christmas. My child loved the moving walkways. It kept her entertained while waiting for the flight. We arrived 2 hours early for our flight. It took about 20 minutes to park, get on the shuttle, and get to the airport. About 20 minutes to check in. Security took about 15 minutes. When arriving, the economy parking shuttle is located outside of baggage claim across the street. Look for the sign that says economy.
This airport is nice simple, it’s not overcrowded or anything. It’s clean and quiet, I like it here it also have stuff from Pam-Am along with military stuff. The TSA is super easy and close to the gates, you don’t have to worry about running for your flight. The food options not that bad, maybe it could use a bit more of other options. Starbucks here is pretty quick compared to others, my favorite lol. They don’t have Clear here that kind of sucks in my opinion. They don’t harass people for parking spots at the pickups like other places. I will enjoy it every time I come there.
Honesty I love this airport so easy and chill to go through. I have been here many, many times. The airport is small, but easy to navigate. Basically a center hub entry with TSA in the middle and once you are done with TSA you either branch off to the left or to the right. Each side has their own airline and each side has their own set of stores and restaurants to go to. Also did a long term park 3 days and that was nice had a shuttle from the economy lot and it couldn't have been easier. The staff is usually very nice here never had a bad experience.
I recently drove somebody to the airport and I was pleasantly surprised by the service. I’ve been to jacksonville international airport quite few times before and had mixed experiences, mostly pleasant but this time it was outstanding. The person checking in for delta, I believe her name is Carol ( I apologize, I’m not 100% sure) was very helpful. She printed out a COVID questionnaire needed to travel and she was very informative. Departures parking sign should be more visible because if you miss it it’s hard to get to the parking.
Lots of parking. Quick shuttles. Professional courteous staff all the way thru. Somehow TSA ate one of my shoes and I had to wait for what seemed like forever to get it back. Even had two different stories on where it was. Until I saw a nice Lady waving it at me with the sole survivor. (See what I did there?). Nothing is cheap. Although i probably shouldn't have ordered double doubles. My wife was smarter. I was suffering from back pain. Ha! Fixed that. Stay home if you can't afford it. Vegas, here we come! Baby needs new shoes!!
Smaller airport with not much traffic or waiting lines inside of the terminal. I appreciate how festive this airport is decorated during the holiday season. Also, If you have time before your flight, It’s pretty cool sitting in the rocking chairs solo or with family and friends in the area just before going through TSA. The art exhibits are also a remarkable experience showcasing local talent. Thank you for keeping this airport clean and assisting travelers with a stress free journey. Safe travels ✈️!
A quite modern and easy to navigate airport. TSA has all the new scanners and automated bins, so going through security is pretty fast. The airport layout is simple, so it's hard to get lost. My only critiques are that there aren't very many check-in kiosks, so it can get a bit backed up on busy days; and there is only one coffee shop (Starbucks) behind security, so the line is crazy long almost all the time. Make sure you have plenty of time before your flight if you're getting coffee.
It's the Holidays and lots of people flying in. I have traveled a lot and always enjoyed our airport. Easy parking and short walk to terminal areas. Lots of seating when waiting for someone. There has been a lot of revamp to the place making flow of traffic easier. Nice coffee shop. Be sure to check out the art gallery. Also, not a lot of people know this, but the art on wall behind baggage claims is all stamps. Next time your there, give it a close up look!
I love small to mid-size airports and this is a pretty good one. It has modern and very clean facilities and is not too big that you are walking miles. even the baggage and rental car areas are compact and convenient. What makes it 4 star and not 5 is that luggage management, getting them to the carousel can be painfully slow for a smaller airport and the lounge situation is so small that after 3 years, I have never been able to enter because it is packed !
Update: They've added an awesome new sky lounge called The Club Jax. $40 gets you food and beverage including a full bar all inclusive. Great views and showers too if you like. $34 if you have AAA and FREE if you belong to the Passpost Club. 1 Great airport. Very open feeling, easy access to everything except long term lot parking. Which doesn't have super access to terminal. Security can get a bit bogged down, but overall quicker than most other airports.
The economy shuttles drop off upstairs and pickup is downstair outside baggage claim. Unlike most airports in this country that save time by picking up and dropping off on the same level. You WILL end up waiting an annoyingly long time for the economy shuttle because of this failure on Jax. When it gets busy downstairs at pickup the security is not good at getting people to keep driving. The right lane is a parking lot and that is unsafe and unfair
I travel globally all the time and not only is Jax one of the best airports I’ve ever been to, it’s been one of the best since I started coming here 10 years ago. Because it’s so rare to find a great airport, I felt compelled to leave this and say thank you. It’s hard travelling solo with a two year old and the warm staff, clean facilities, easy parking, and easy navigation takes a lot of the headache out of an otherwise tough trip. Thanks again.

Thoroughly enjoyed flying out of JIA. This airport is not quite as large as a few others, but still funnels a ton of people.through. The layout is simple and everything seems to be structured well and easy to find. Not quite as many quick bite options or places to shop but well done for a lower tiered size of the larger airports. Bathrooms and most places were clean and well kept. All the associates we ran into were friendly and accommodating.
This place is a well oiled machine. Rental cars right at the airport 10 steps from baggage. Return the car at the airport. Plenty of easy to read signs for how to get around, nice TSA staff and good amount of them, lots of little eateries and snack options, easily accessible with a stroller, tons of bathrooms and family bathrooms, family/kid friendly, ample seating in the terminals and it’s SUPER CLEAN. Why can’t every airport be this nice!
If you’re flying through United, AVOID. They don’t have kiosks in the back, they have them at the front of the line which makes the process incredibly slow. Especially because half the people do not know what to do and you have the wait for them to weigh and take your bag, so if they’re busy with other people you are SOL. Not only that almost all the TSA and other staff at this airport are incredibly rude and treat everyone like animals.
The people are very friendly, very helpful, and the location overall is very clean. It helps that it is not as crowded as other international airports. The signage everywhere is very clear and simple enough to understand. Also, easy access to all major highways. I would choose this airport over surrounding airports for price and proximity, especially if I lived close enough to other airports, where I'd have a choice.
Easy to get to and around for me because I used to live in Jax. TSA went quick in the morning. I haven’t been here in 5 years and the TSA area had moved along with the exiting from the terminal area. I still love the rocking chairs in the lobby area. Smaller airport with 2 terminal wings. Bathrooms were clean but are older. Didn’t have a checked bag to retrieve this time. Had a great experience at Dollar car rental.
One of the nicest and cleanest Airport I have ever visited especially the restrooms are very very clean!!! It's easy to find your way around.. I never have to wait long for security check. Every single person is friendly and ready to help. Very very nice place and nice people working there. I will be back in Jacksonville in December to visit my boyfriend again. Greetings from Germany See you soon ✈️
What happened to flowing traffic for pick up? All of the area for ride share was blocked by regular people waiting. 2 Ubers canceled on me because they could not get through. I asked assistance from security, and nobody did anything until I started confronting drivers. I just want to get home. Use the cell phone lot, drive in circles like I do, DON'T BLOCK the road!! The airport needs to do better!!
Great airport. Located only a few miles from downtown, very easy to get to and from. Awesome rental car connected parking --no shuttle required. The airport is a great size, not overly busy or congested. Quick and efficient security lines, polite and friendly staff. Typical news shops inside, and plenty of spots to grab something to eat. Very easy to navigate gates and single terminal. Great spot.
I fly in and out of Jacksonville on orders to NAS/JAX all the time so I get to see the flow of movement here alot and it's a well oiled machine. TSA is respectful and super chill which is nice unlike Trenton NJ where its like DEFCON 4 all the time lol. Easy to navigate and get out of the airport after a long day of travel. Matthew in baggage returns is a gem of a dude. God bless! -Ben
I’ve flown into and out of this airport over the past 7 years and it’s a cute and charming airport. Always so easy to get in and out and on your way. I hope it stays that way but I know it won’t! Love the lounge there, too! Baggage claims, atleast with JetBlue, is usually so fast! A few dining options as well. No complaints. I love how open and airy it is. It makes it more relaxing.
When I arrived, with a two hour cushion customary to how I always arrive before a flight, the ticket counter lady waved me right to her, asked for my ID, and had my boarding pass printed in less than 10 seconds. While this interaction was more of a testament to Delta, I have never had a prolonged experience at JAX Airport. It is always smooth, straightforward, and without delay.
Decent airport with parking that's not too unreasonable (but did go up not long ago). Also a+++ for their economy parking shuttle, those guys are great. Docked a star because I'm sitting in here now on one of the benches that has outlets and they don't work. I've lived here for years and these have never worked come on guys why have them of your not going to turn them on!
Small for an international Airport. However, good things do come in small packages as well. The check in process was efficient and structured. We were through security in maybe 15 minutes. But it was also 5pm on a weekday. The airport is clean but a lot of the electrical plugs near the seats do not work. Also, the terminal didn't have too many shops or food options.
Solid airport. Security can get congested so try to have TSA pre if you are flying here. Water fountains have water bottle attachments. Sinks are kind of weird in the bathroom but just hold your hands under them and have faith. The airport has a cleanly, ocean blue feel that reflects the nearby Atlantic. Good shopping by the A gates during daylight hours.
I love this airport. It's small and folks are friendly. I never have to wait long in security either. The reason I'm writing a review is because Janisa Lester from the Parking Administration helped me track down a lost receipt for work. I thought it would be a long shot, but I had the receipt in less than a day. Just so impressed with the great service!
Great little airport full of shops and good places to eat. Security was efficient and friendly and the waiting areas for your flights are clean and well spaced. They do not support CLEAR here so account for that when departing. Also being Florida's average age is 107, expect the lines the be a little slower and an abundance of assisted passengers.
How is my carry on fit through tsa scanner in Birmingham which is a smaller airport and it fit in the overhead bin on my flight but for some reasons, the tsa agent at Jacksonville international airport tells me my bag has to be checked in because they assume it wasn’t going to fit! seems to me someone was being lazy! Great Job Jacksonville
Does anyone actually read a review of the airport before flying there? Like, I want to go to Jacksonville, but oh wait, the airport has bad reviews? ♂️ It's fine, it's an airport. Doesn't smell, is fairly clean, haven't lost any bags here Going to Jacksonville? More than a 5 hour drive away? JAX is the airport for you!
It’s been a while since visiting Jax International Airport and I’m very impressed with the service quality and efficiency throughout the airport. Picking up my luggage from baggage claims seemed fast compared to other airports! I also loved touring the art gallery and learning about aviation history! Very cool! ✈️
Jacksonville international Airport is an excellent facility.many restaurants and shops.plenty of comfortable seating at each gate. A very wide concourse which is nice. TSA was very fast with short lines.well laid out facility.car rental rates are reasonable and it's easy to get in and out of tge Airport.
Very easy airport to get to. It was also very easy to get through the security checkpoints. This is a moderately small airport by today's standards yet they have many options for food and shopping. Very well lit and easy-to-navigate airport with plenty of Easy-to-Read signage and lots of bathrooms.
I just have to give a shoutout to Shanae with the airport parking security for being SO kind and helpful when I (stupidly) got off at the wrong parking lot. She came to pick me up so I didn't have to wait for another shuttle at midnight and dropped me right off at my car. Thanks again!
This airport is so easy to navigate, clean, and never crowded the dozen or so times we have gone through here. With ATL and MCO being so close, this airport is smaller and the demand for flights aren't as high. But being smaller seems to help it stay so pleasant. We love this airport.
The airport is semi updated. Though some of the staff aren't so nice. Long wait for assistance sometimes. Then they seem very unhappy to help. Just a shame because it could be so much better. This is my home town & I travel often, so unfortunately I have to deal with them often.
Great airport and probably the airport where a TSA agent actually assisted with the bag check process ensuring people got their bags in bins and sent through the scanner quickly. Appreciated that extra effort so much! It’s also great the the rental car center is on-site.
Easy to maneuver from side to side. TSA is in the middle of the airport which makes it easier to get to. Bright, well lit. Lots of artsy displays around. Plenty of restaurants to choose from. Lots of shops to kill time in while waiting. Several outlets for charging.
Travel a lot and first time in JAX. Overall, good experience however security was very slow and much longer than would normally expect at a smaller airport. Also, not a large option of options for food and dining if delayed. PGA restaurant was awesome with great staff.
Live music from an excellent pianist in the grand hall. This is a small touch but what a way to make the airport feel welcoming and comfortable. It’s a little bit of magic, and feels a bit like going back in time. Bravo to the administrator who made this happen.
Easy arrival and departure from this small but efficient airport. Lots of space for unticketed folks to wait and relax and bright spacious terminals for folks traveling. Employees from airlines and airport to restaurant and kiosk are friendly and helpful.
Lots of shops. Lots of places to eat. Unless you have a really early flight. TSA is fairly routine. Most gates are easily walkable in 5-10 minutes. Bathrooms always clean. Beautiful artwork and great directions to Shuttles, rental cars and parking.
Parking lots said full. But they weren't. Lines were slow and long at ticketing. Security uses a weird automated bin system that is slower and confusing. No Clear. Delta club was tiny. Overall not super impressed. But no glaring downsides. …
Smooth sailing today at JAX! Definitely can tell its a holiday weekend. Waited the longest in security ever today. Over 45 minutes. 2 lines old school where you take shoes off, everything out of the bag and 2 new ones. Not sure it's faster yet.
The place is clean, their automation in the security line leads to bottle necks, so prepare to wait for your bag to get through screening. Many of the seats in the gates do not have plugs for charging. Far from the worst airport I've been to
We discovered an alternate travel option north but we didnt need it. Not sure about that open cockpit all the way to Santa but its nice of them to offer. Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas everyone! Just dont forget Jesus loves you too.
I love this airport!!!! Plenty of choices to eat, drink, and just relax. If you like Starbucks like I do, this is the airport to find plenty of them. Very friendly staff including the TSA!!! Easy access: exit and entry!!!
Great AA employees that were super friendly and helpful. The TSA I feel is one of the best in the country. I am from the Phoenix area and travel a lot and wish all the TSA locations around the US would learn from JAX TSA.
Easy to pick up at terminal. Good thing, there’s not much traffic on weekdays which gives some lead time to go get family members and their luggage from baggage claims area, which isn’t easy at other busier airports.
All was great, except for one AA Gentleman at ticketing who was totally rude, unprofessional and condescending. His coworkers even were telling him he was wrong, but he proceeded to continue to live in arrogance.
Small but very convenient and efficient airport. Coming to the airport was without a hassle, at 8:30 am on a Monday that’s is called a bliss. Baggage drop was quick. We went thru the security like a breeze too.
Not a big crowded airport, so easy to transit. Clean and comfortable with a pleasant lack of construction. Unlike most airports that seem to always have some type of building and expansion project going on.
It’s clean and ample. TSA staff is kind. If it gets a little busy expect waiting line at the tiny business lounge, and long wait for food everywhere. I guess not enough restaurants so they get crazy busy.
Clean and fast to get through security. Priority Lounge was again on a wait-list . Plane announcement for Breeze were not great but we did board and fill then left the gate early. Easy airport overall .
The airport has been making changes & they are all for the better. Easy getting through security, wheelchair assistance was fast & so many new places to eat & shop. Best airport in the US in my opinion.
The airport is pretty. But I would rather live in Hartsfield itself than try to fly out of, eat in, or visit the ladies' room at this airport. We were never served lunch, and the restroom was nasty!
Check in with Delta went well and tsa check point went smoothly. Nice restaurants and plenty of seating for waiting for the plane. Parking was okay but full and bus assistant was very helpful.
One of my best experiences at an airport. The airport is small, but the facilities are up to date. My disclaimer is that my flight was early morning. But nevertheless, it was smooth sailing.
Jacksonville Airport is easy to navigate with ample options for shopping, food, and drinks. It is always clean. Security time can vary depending on the season, so definitely arrive on time!
Breeze was smooth and easy to find in the airport. I didn't need assistance from anyone so idk about the staff but the restrooms in the a.p. were clean. If you like art this airport has it.
One of the friendliest airports. From the easy parking, shuttle to the airline check-in counters, fast and effective security screening and short walk to the gates. Excellent experience.
Good airport with friendly TSA and new equipment, so lines move faster. Lacking local food (all chains for example 2 Starbucks next to each other lol) There could also be better lounges.
Nice small airport but very clean and new once in the terminal but from the garage rental car drop off the tunnel to the terminal is immensly hot and its like going from hell to heaven
JAX is a small airport with two terminals. Meals options are few, but the airport is clean, easy to navigate, and allows you to spread out without being on top of one another.
Very clean and beautiful airport. Tourist information desk very useful and provide details. Easy accessible to all the gates. All the good and nice restaurants are available
I don't what was going on but Jetblue airlines had the absolute longest wait to check in I have ever experienced. They were processing passengers about one every 30 minutes.
Great modern, clean, sunlight, filled Airport! Seems more like a high end mall then a busy Airport. Easy to access and the TSA at this airport is always quick and efficient
JIA is an excellent airport to fly into & out of. The TSA screeners are fast & efficien. Thanks for making my flight to Las Vegas a great one to remember American !!! …
The airport itself was great. But the food vendors had no interest in doing their job, were not polite, nor did they really seem like they wanted to help customers.
Very good and standard style airport. Easy coming and leaving. Rental cars booth in the airport and cars just a few steps away from the booth. Just very convenient!
Small but well-kept airport. The TSA staff are efficient for the most part. Electrical outlets beneath waiting chairs were not operational to everyone's dismay.
Nice smaller airport, easy to navigate, security always quick and rental car area easy to find. Nice and clean. Photos are of terminal A, gate 7, and the radar.
Easy airport to navigate. Plenty to do, eat, drink if early for flight. Comfortable gate seating. Drop off/pick up process easy also whether by car or shuttle.
1st time at this airport, and it was a nice place to fly into. The airport was clean, friendly staff and cool walls filled with all different kinds of history
Pretty easy airport! Well labeled, quick security check, arrived 40 mins till flight and made it with 20 to spare. Still. Arrive at least 1 or 2 hours ahead.
Forgot about my work knife in the pants I packed for my trip. Won't do that again... Otherwise fast security check, professional conduct. No issues.
I was absolutely surprised by how beautiful this airport is! So many shops and boutiques, Starbucks on every corner, all clean and modern. Love it
For me a good size… not too big to get around and not too small. For our Southwest flight everything went smoothly. The sky cab was helpful also
It was my first time flying... I found myself waiting 4 hours in the airport. Overall, the process wasn't that bad, and TSA went pretty fast.
Easily navigable airport. Very clean. Fun Christmas decorations. Not terribly busy when I was there and very friendly tsa and other staff.
Very nice airport. Clean restrooms and spacious concourses. I loved the option to buy military travelers snacks for the USO lounges.
Nice clean airport. Good parking. Easy access to your terminal. Friendly airport personnel. Smiles and well wishes, which is a plus.
