It is essentially a secure place to park that costs three times as much as it should. Imagine an Interstate Rest Area next to an airport in the 1980's with full hookups, 56K WiFi and eight(ish) washers/dryers. Also, the bathrooms and showers are unventilated septic sauna's strangely free of black mold. If you can then you have a pretty good idea of what this "Navy Getaway" is like. The Staff and Camp Hosts do a fantastic job of keeping order in what is best described as a shameful Command afterthought compared to other military campgrounds. No dog park or turdbag dispensers ensure that there's always a landmine waiting just off the gravel roadway. The grass is maintained by two guy's that stop by every four to six weeks compared to the crew of Commercial Landscapers that maintain the rest of the Base on a weekly schedule. It's also the easiest place for Base Housing tenants to dump their unwanted cats.

I debated between 3 and 4 stars but decided on 4 because the park is well kept and the staff is great. In addition the laundry is free. There is no air in the bath houses or laundry area but they said they planned to upgrade them. The reason I thought to only give 3 is because of the price. It is only $27 a night but they do not give you a weekly or monthly price break so it is $810 or $837 a month. No cable. You do get free Wifi but it's not very good as is with most RV parks. There is no club house but there is a screened in gazebo near the river. Nor is there a dog park area so you are not getting much for your money except for the convenience of being on base.

We stayed here for a couple months a year ago, and have come back periodically since then. We're back again, and we still love it. The flight show was a week ago, and it was amazing! Because we're staying on base, we were able to watch the "practice" show on Friday while it was closed to the public. I sat on top of the RV and got some great pics (I've uploaded several) from there and from the tarmac. They have a turkey 5k coming up, and a family day as well. There are so many things to do! I highly recommend this fam camp to any eligible military or DoD RVer. Please hit Like if this review was helpful for you. Thank you!

Great place. Right next to the golf course, which is very nice and in close proximity of a lot of stuff on the base. Our campsite ended up very close to the water. I really like it here. The camp hosts, Libby and Jack are awesome. And the campers are great people too. It is on a airbase so there is military aircraft taking off during the day but the nights are quiet and pleasant. Exchange is very large and offer all the shopping choices you can imagine.

We've stayed here a few times visiting our son. The campground is Nice, Clean, Level sites, Laundry facilities, and has a nice view of the St. Johns River. It's within walking distance to the Comm/NEX and within walking distance to the restaurant at the Golf Course. We enjoyed each time we stayed. Walking to the Marina is a little bit more than the others but if you enjoy walking you can walk there also.

I almost don't want to talk about this RV part because I don't want the secret out. Marti the camp host was amazing! He went out of his way to help us and we can't thank him enough. Some things the park does need is there is no air conditioning in the bath house and laundry room and there's only 50 or so RV spots it would be great to see this increased.

Very nice and clean campground. Camp hosts are fantastic, as are Joe and his colleagues who make the reservations. Staff goes above and beyond to make your stay very enjoyable. Bath house and laundry facilities are very clean. Sites are gravel, some are pull through. Base has many amenities, as does surrounding area.

Great spot for camping or RV. Restrooms, Free laundry room. There were to dryers left, after our laundry was washed, husband put our laundry in them. They took what seemed like forever. Laundry room is not air conditioned either. The rest of the time we enjoyed our stay, even though we were only there for one week.

I really enjoyed my time at this campground. The hosts were very helpful and the office staff is great!! There is free laundry with nice machines, the bathrooms are large and clean and the campers are all friendly. This place is a nice place to relax and conveniently located with great shopping available on base.

The spaces are nice, the staff was very helpful and informative. They are friendly and courteous. There is laundry facilities on site and the 4 washers and 4 dryers are free. The bathrooms were very clean and the showers are nice. I would definitely recommend this Rv (famcamp) to my friends and family

Good clean grounds. Set back on St John's River with many sites surrounded by beautiful trees. Pet friendly with many places available to walk! Well kept public restrooms and laundry facilities. MWR personnel are friendly and very accommodating. I'm new to RVing and highly recommend this facility.

The owners are so nice! They allowed us come in late. We checked in by phone. They put a cone out with my name on it (so cute I took a picture of it when we arrived), our site was ready, and they let us pay in the morning when we checked out. So friendly. Worth it. Thanks ya’ll.

Our first time at Nas Jax and we were greeted warmly by both camphosts. The base is easy to navigate, great commissary. The sites are big rig friendly and plenty of room in between sites. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this RV Park.

Nice park. This is a military base campground so unless you are Active Duty/Retired Military or DoD you cannot camp here. When you search campgrounds on Google it does not identify it as a Military Campground. Recommend you make a reservation.

  • Mark Hosier

The park looks rundown, unkempt and totally out of place on an otherwise beautifully maintained base. Very challenging to navigate RV due to inconsistent and hazardous parking of personal cars/trucks. On a positive note, the laundry was free.

This place is beautiful clean Julie is amazing she works in the office she will work with you on anything she will bend over backwards for you I don't think this place would be the same without her my husband and I come here we are full

Two night stay on a three week RV trip. We had a pull through site, concrete with picnic table but no fire right. Site sloped downward and to the side so additional leveling blocks were needed. Strong wifi and T-mobile had four bars.

  • Leonard Tippett

Very nice park. We were on base and very close to the water. Lits to do and Jacksonville area is very close if you are looking for exciting thing or do in town. There are several static displays and the golf course is very nice.

  • Tyrone Greggs

Have to be fair with the rating. It's a great location. Great staff. Everything you need is right down the street. And 10min to anything off base. Just not the best I've seen for on base camping. But the service is 5 star!!!!!

  • Bruce

The base is wonderful. Quite a bit to do without leaving the base. The RV park is a little tight for rigs larger than 35 feet. I would recommended taking the toad in first to figure out how you want to approach your site.

  • JB Davis

4.5⭐️ easy access basically level gravel sites with 30/50 Amp, water, sewer and wifi. Great walking trail thru the treeline next to river but beware of alligators. Staff is very helpful and there is an on-site camp host.

  • Linda Stamschror

The reservation staff is exceptional. They work hard to help with your requests. Wi-fi is good. Free laundry room although the washers & dryers really get a workout. Golf course within easy walking distance.

  • April Kyles

Thus us a beautiful place to stay on NAS Jacksonville for the military. I highly recommend this place. Reggie the camp host is very friendly and makes sure everything is alright. Thanks for the great stay

  • J Giglio

Park is quite, easy to find and get into. Laundry is free. Sites are gravel with cement patios with picnic tables. There are shade trees and grass. Bathrooms and showers clean. Just a very nice RV park.

  • Kary Utley

Park is well managed. Easy to get RV into park. Overall conditions could be improved by upgrading driveways to a solid surface. That would eliminate the dirt being tracked into tbe RV.

  • Ron Matthews

Extremely friendly, very helpful. Camp host is by far the best, smiling while standing out in the hot sun while helping me settled in my slot all with a smile, thanks Reggie

  • Robert Hyatt (Bob)

My wife and I stayed here for four month after selling our home and before my retirement from a DOD Civilian position on the Naval station. It was perfect in every way.

  • Christina Hernandez

Amazing staff, family friendly to non military. Helpful in answering questions. Great rooms that are nice and clean. No smoke smells at all and breakfast was good.

  • Jm Scott

Hidden gem clean and well kept park. Jack the host was amazing.. Be sure to take the nature trail and go down to the rivers edge to see sun rise..

  • Joe Alicea

great place to camp. Very clean, great sites, good and friendly environment. The free WIFI worked good but it does require constant approval.

  • Cathy Jennings

The RV park is great. 3 places to order to go food. Friendly military/veterans. Very safe environment. ID verified at gate entrance to base.

  • Debbie Tayfel

Very nice staff. Spots close together. Free laundry which I took advantage of. Saw a baby alligator by the water. Great commissary!
