Came to the store at 11:00 pm ( they’re open til midnight) to a sign that said “be right back”. About a minute later “Kevin” came and unlocked the door for us. Very unfriendly, didn’t invite us in or even say hello. We shopped around for several minutes when my 4 year old daughter frantically said she needed to use the restroom. I quickly looked around to see if there was a restroom at the back of the store when another customer told me they saw restrooms past a sliding barn door at the back of the store. I went to the barn door and it was unlocked and there was no sign that said to keep out. So I opened it and came to a hallway that had two restroom doors. I tried both of the handles and they were locked so I assumed I needed to get a key from the store clerk. As I was headed back into the grocery store, Kevin aggressively opened the door slamming the wall behind it. It was so hard it was like he kicked the door open. Had I been a few feet closer, the door would’ve knocked me out . It startled me so much that I screamed. He proceeded to tell me that those restrooms were not for public use, and that I needed get out now. No yelling but very rude. A few minutes later I was ready to check out with $150 worth of groceries. At the end of my transaction I told him I was sorry but I didn’t feel like I had done anything wrong. I did not ignore a no trespassing sign or a locked door. I was just trying to find a restroom for my daughter. I was very calm, but told him that he handled the situation very aggressively, and thought that his behavior was inappropriate. He was calm in return, but told us that we were not allowed to come back to his store. Over what? Innocently trying to find a restroom? I will NEVER go back. Peace out Kevin. The way you treated me is grounds for termination.

Great unique and local selection. The employee Kevin was very rude to us, wouldn't acknowledge us, literally wouldn't even answer us. We are easy going people and tried to be jovial with him as we checked out and he rolled his eyes at us. We asked him who the owner of the store was after we checked out and he said it was him. From what I could see online, Kevin is not the owner. I think he was worried we were going to tell on his behavior and lack of service, so he lied to us. Cute store, but be prepared if Kevin is on duty.

I love this store. Has a great selection of common goods as well as local items. Organic foods are greatly priced in comparison with big box stores. Everything else is typical pricing so thats great. It is right in between my apartment and work so even more perfect. Staff is the best and if they don't have what you need, let them know and they will get it!!! Best convenience store downtown and maybe in slc.

I’d say I wish this place was open later but that wouldn’t be as honest as just saying I wish it wasn’t always closing early. Just close when you say you will. If you’re locking out multiple customers to close ten minutes early it’s a poor business practice. If you’re heading somewhere late go to The Store, I’ve never been shut out of there during their advertised operating hours.

Like the layout and look of the store. Most importantly it is kept very clean. The help has always been so helpful and happy. Not like you see in lot of places. Where you feel like you are imposing (they don't want to be there). Over all I have not had a bad experience there! The prices are higher than I'd like. But I could say that about most of the places I go to!..

You could buy everything sold here for cheaper somewhere else. Nothing is ordered or restocked often enough so they are constantly out of cigarettes, beer, etc. The management is not understanding towards those with disabilities, neither customer nor employee. You can get banned from this store just for walking in behind someone they don't like. Spend your money elsewhere.

Staff is always friendly and a convenient location. Good selection of items for a smaller market. Rosie's sandwich shop at the back of the store has excellent quality and delicious food. Try the Monday special - meatball sub - yum! The rest of the sandwiches are great as well, staff is friendly and makes your sandwich your way. Keep up the good work.

This place had all kinds of goodies. Souvenirs, candies, crackers, breads, Jars of foodstuffs and canned goods, fresh meat and sausages, including a nice deli and dining room. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Felt just like Holland in there. I really enjoyed myself browsing through the whole store.

Diverse food selection, friendly staff, open late. Prices are marked up fifty cents or so, but their selection is far better than most stores its size—they actually have healthy grocery items—and the walkability downtown is unbeatable. I’m so impressed how much they can fit into this little place.

Smallest "market" Downtown. If you're driving, just go to Smith's in the Avenue's. Far better. Jade's selection is slim pickens. VERY OVERPRICED. It's like part of an old building without a floor and threw some over good food in it. Very "Don't care about anything" attitude here.

They have venezuelan food and the prices are expensive for the quality. My empanada tasted like old and a 100 times reused oil. Too small for $7 and with almost no cheese inside. As a venezuelan I feel ashamed when seeing other Venezuelans offering poor service like that.

Amazing food, really sweet and friendly staff. Prices are reasonable considering the location and quality of the products they sell. And I've also found foods that I never knew existed before coming in. Couldn't recommend it enough.

A nice little store where you can find your daily grocery’s. Don’t expect too much service though. The store and the building itself is amazing and nicer than the staff. But maybe I just came in at the wrong moment, who knows.

Everyone at the Jade Market is great but my favorite thing about the market is the little sandwich counter in the back, "Rosie's Deli". Great sandwiches, salads, and the also make an awesome breakfast sandwich.

  • Holly Reed

Clean and friendly, but since I worked a couple buildings over it would have been awesome if this place had a fountain drink machine. Oh well....the cookies they sell at the counter almost make it a non issue.

  • Matt D'Onofrio

Excellent selection including fresh food and household stables, especially for a corner store sized shop. Lots of local vendors represented & staff are very friendly and helpful. Great location too.

  • Benjamin Ray

Staff is amazing, very “millennial” feeling. They carry many useful non-food items. I love the selection of local and fresh foods. However, I think the prices on some things are outrageous.

  • Jonathan Korte

Cool little bodega, higher end food and convenience items stocked. Despite proximity to the open air drug market the next block over, Jade is always clean, friendly and safe.

NOT AN ASIAN MARKET. Idk why it came up in my search as such. Still giving4 stars because there were some things there you wouldn't find in a normal grocery store.

  • Todd ddoT

I've been going here for years. Yes, it's expensive but there's a diverse selection and the staff is probably my favorite part. Shout out to Kevin and Alejandro!!

  • Robert Meszaros

Its not oriental. Its a Health food grocery open late within walking distance of downtown hotel. Excellent Ice cream and gluten free food. Oh and real chocolates.

  • whil mccutchan

Great place to pick up a 12 pack after hours or a sandwich during the day. Perfect for the downtown walking when you don't feel like driving to a grocery store.

  • Matthew Hammond

A small market with high quality items at a fair price. The staff is always nice. I always find something new here. Certainly worth a visit.

  • Susan Jon

Midtown mom and pop store with a twist it's exotic flare of rare coffees and treats is a go to before the movie theatre across the street

  • Chris Paul

It's not listed clearly on Google Maps but Rosie's Deli is inside the Jade Market and it is awesome. Awesome sandwiches.

Most of the staff are very friendly. I love to support local stores but it is overpriced.
