My children initially had an appointment with Jesé but I was told that another person would be helping which was Dionne. I had no problem with that because the salon was a little busy. They were scheduled for a retwist and style and I was quoted for $200 for both. That did not happen. My daughter and son received a retwist only. My daughter’s retwist was $80 but my son’s retwist was $160. Now his hair is longer so I didn’t complain and just paid what she stated. I also made sure to tip $20 for each child’s retwist, mind you no style. We walk out of the building and get into the car and both kids tell me that they DO NOT want to go there again. I was shocked. I asked what happened. My son was like Mom she told me if I didn’t hold my head right that she’ll kick me out of her chair. He said she was pulling and pushing his head. I was so upset and wanted to go back into the shop and confront her but I didn’t want to cause a scene. I was sooooo angry. My daughter says that she did not feel welcomed either. My children have NEVER had an experience like that with any hair salon. They have always been treated well. This was our FIRST and LAST time at this salon. Dionne does not make her clients/customers feel welcomed or appreciated. She is not personable and they seem to treat that place more like a barber shop than salon. I messaged Jesé the same day actually, immediately following this incident and I have not received a call, message, or email. Very disappointing. I have great kids and as a stylist you must direct your clientele and they will do as instructed. I don’t know if she were having a rough morning or if she were use to certain type of customers but that isn’t who we are. I don’t regret paying or tipping you but I will not return or recommend your business to anyone. ONE and DONE!!!! I wish you continued success and I pray that the things I’ve mentioned inspire some changes. I still can’t believe you did not reach out...

My appt. was yesterday July 31st @9:30 a.m. for sew in. My first and last time. Stylist Deon Showed up at 10:00 a.m. I didn't leave until a little after 2 p.m. and it seems like I was her only client for the day. So really no excuse for the way she did my hair. I could've saved the time and money. I'm still waiting to hear back from her (Deon) Cause this isn't ok that I paid $220 for hair. And $200 to you plus a $30 tip!! I asked what store would she like for me to purchase hair, her reply was any store. I sent a picture of hair to confirm if she could work with that hair, her response was yes as long as it's human hair. I had to make a U-turn yesterday after leaving, I was probably gone for 5 mins. This will be my 2nd time returning within 48 hours. Maybe now I will get a response. If not I have no problem just popping up. But I will not be walking around looking crazy. That's my experience. So sad, that you don't care about your reputation.

Hi, I just wanted to share my experience First time customer 10-29-2020 I decided to go all natural this year 5 months ago and I wanted a style to manage it as well better care of my hair something that could last a week or so a twist out is a style that would work for me. I googled looking for a natural hair salon in Austin,Texas. After calling speaking with the lady she said don't wash or style do nothing to ur hair... Ok The appointment was at 1pm I arrive at 12:30.. 2 hour's later my bill was a $100.00 for a twist out .. My natural hair is not long anymore length of a little past my ears... My husband told me next time babe just roll your hair yourself... I understand that we're in a Pandemic people are over charging But what I received was normally a $35-$40 I'm sure of it and NO ! I will not come back or refer anyone to get OVER CHARGED

Unfortunately, the pictures listed and how my hair turned out are not the same ... I got knotless braids and I am very dissatisfied . they might last 3 weeks tops and hopefully it does not start to loc from the knots that were made at the root of my hair . The braids are not even in size to the ends and when almost complete, the stylist had another client that she began to start on and had another member of the salon “HALFWAY” dip hair in hot water to straighten (ends of hair are still bent). I recently moved to the state and have had this service plenty of times to know that this is not quality salon work. I wish that stylists were more truthful about services that they can do especially in a professional setting.

I absolutely love the service I get from JaeUndreas’ shop. It’s great laughter & bantering always. Going there for my hair appointment is a special time because everyone talks like we’re family & friends. Jese does an amazing job with his self-made products. My hair has grown so long over the past two years under him. It was in pretty bad shape until he took & transformed my locs to something beautiful. I appreciate his skills & also his loyalty to clients. I see a few of these reviews & I’m shocked because that’s never been my experience. All of us can do better. Oh well, I pray this shop continues to do great things! Lastly, thank you to the JaeUndreas Team for making me a priority if Jese is unavailable.

Jese is funny and is good at what he does but I didn't like the fact he complained the entire time he was fixing my hair. I went in for interlocks on a busy Sat mind you I booked the appointment so he had an option to cancel if interlocks take time that he does not have on Sat. He complained about my hair being a lot and how only women come in wanting interlocks. When I asked to be styled he stomped his feet with frustration he did it but I was afraid to ask him for advise or extra service because he seemed he didn't wanna be bothered. I didn't complain about how much he charged so I expected professionalism from him. He did a good job but was pretty rough on my head and hair I had to take a pain killer.

I come to get my hair done, chat, laugh and get my children's hair done. We love our hair and our stylists. If getting a flat iton, I recommend the one that go's inside the little oven, forgive my technical knowledge. It was the difference between my daughter's hair lasting a full 6 days the first time our stylist there did it and only 2 days the second time. My new locs are forming so beautifully, I love them, and love how seriously Jesse, the owner and stylist, takes his clients' loc journeys. My daughter's locs, she's 6, are forming beautifully also, despite her being sort of "rough" on her hair. Twice a month may be the trick for maintenence of naturally curly starter locs, and or kid locs.

I sent my husband here to get his hair looked at and hopefully fixed. My husband got there and the first thing he was told was to cut his hair off & that there was nothing that could be done & he had too many "patches" & the guy who looked at his hair was rude. He had one patch he tried explaining what happened and the rest was regrowth that needed to be retwisted, my husband called me upset because he didn't want his hair cut off & we both knew it was salvageable. I was able to find another salon who TOOK THE TIME to look at his hair & said he could get him fixed up. You lost a customer because y'all were not only rude but didn't seem to want to even help.

Sherri was horrible. I had asked for Havana twist and she told me they’d last a month and a half. The next day they were coming undone. When I asked for a refund she told me they don’t insure refunds but that she’ll fix it or braid it for an equal value so I settled on box braids. The day I was suppose to go in she flaked and ignored all my texts and calls. She's unprofessional and I wasted 200 dollars on the twist and 50 on the hair just to have horrible service and an overnight hairdo. Would never go here again or even recommend them to anyone.

Great place to feel welcome to. From braids and rinses to shaves and edge ups, it's all done here! There is a nice waiting area and the stylists are great about multitasking to fit everyone in and get done quickly. This particular day I only got an edge-up but the stylist was able to do much better than the crooked edge-up I received previously at a different barbershop. He was also able to look at my hair and determine that the texturizer I applied was not done correctly. Good eye! I'll go there to get that texturizer applied next time!

The female hair Stylist there was extremely rude and very disrespectful i have never been treated the way she treated me very unprofessional. She knew i had a appointment but she skipped me intentionally and she just let me sit there all day knowing she wasn't going to do my hair in the first place what kind of person would do something like that if you know your not going to do my hair tell me so i don't sit there all day and i can go find me somebody who actually cares about there customers.

This salon feels like a movie. The energy from the hairstylists and clients is a vibe. I booked Shayla last minute, the night before my court ceremony, and she squeezed me in her schedule the morning of. I had to get dressed in the salon’s bathroom with my husband to make it on time to the court ceremony. When we left, the salon clapped for us in congratulations. I was too nervous to say, “clap for the real Queen Shayla, who made a bride feel and look like a wife.” Thank you Shayla!

Just had my loc extensions done by Dionne and it was such a great experience. She took her time and was very meticulous. She was also quick. Dionne was able to do my hair for a very affordable price. I will be going here again. I drove from San Antonio to Austin for this service and it was so worth it! I had such a great time chatting with the other staff as well. Thanks a bunch. :)

Best loctician I've come across so far. Not only am I seeing improvement in my hair and beard, but I'm learning more here about how to properly care for my hair under the care of this shop. The staff here is professional and the environment gives that old school barbershop/beauty salon feel. I only wish I could give you more stars! Highly recommend this place.

Used to be a good friend but now a horrible one. Failed to return back with any type of reply. Very discouraging because the very first time that I started to lock my hair he was there for me a couple of times and then disappeared but now still doing the same thing not keeping an appointment with me I thought some things will change very disappointed

I was in line before 8 am for an appointment for my pet at Emancipet. There was a young boy in line in front of this business. A gentleman came out and presented this boy with an "activity box" full of cool goodies - a soccer ball, a football, some street chalk. This act of kindness was beyond thoughtful. Please support this wonderful business.

I had a great for the first time, put it this way it's like they cater to you and can fix all your needs you and you're definitely pampered. Customer service is definitely excellent and this is my place that I would be now going to. Jese is a beast at what he does and is now my loctician. I would definitely recommend this place.

I went in yesterday and it was obvious that they were very busy, but they got both my kids in right away. All the staff were polite and welcoming but James, the stylist that cut my kids hair, was very sweet and attentive even when my little guy got fussy. Very thankful for the kindness and patience i was shown here.

I love the vibe at JaeUndreas! The Loc technicians are friendly and professional. Demarcus works wonders. My son is biracial and wanted to get his locs started. Everyone else said no they couldn't do it, Demarcus made it happen. Let's just say, I have a very happy 10 year old!!! ☺️

JaeUndreas Started my loc extensions back in 2016 and Ive since cut out the extensiona and my hair has grown so much! He provides excellent service! He is extremely knowledgeable with a staff to match. I enjoy the energy of his shop and I cannot allow anyone else in my head!

Mr. Jese is magic. He started these locs over 3 years ago and using his own products, keeps the scalp healthy, the locs maintained and the lines perfect. As you can see in pictures, the hair is in a protected braided style (beautifully done and holds for weeks).

Jese is fantastic. My boyfriend has really kinky curly hair and started his dreads here. Jese did more than loc his hair - he taught him how to upkeep them. Before you buy product or do anything to ruin your hair, check with him. He's been so patient and kind.

This was my first time at this salon and I was pleasantly surprised. It was bright, clean and friendly. There was a nice, inviting vibe in the salon and everyone was professional. I love Jese! He is funny and works fast. I will definitely be back!
