Ordered a Eggplant Masala (Eggplant cooked with onion, ginger and crushed tomato) tonight from Jai Hoo India Restaurant. The food arrived via Uber Eats nice and hot surprising the 1hr 5min delivery time. As I served my rice and began to dish the curry up, I noticed that the dish had some potato within it. As I am allegic to potato this was a little bit of a concern. I continued to dig through the dish I found 4 large chunks of potato. I thought it was a little strange that the unlisted ingredient was in my meal. I decided to contact the restaurant to see if this was a mistake. The gentleman I spoke insisted this was no error and the potato was meant to be in the dish. He then told me he'll speak to the mananger and call me back. 25 minutes later I hadn't heard back. I make contact again via a phone call, the same gentle answered. I questioned what was going on and I was informed that the manager stated that the dish does come with potato and they can not do anything for me. The gentleman then insisted that if I was to order the dishes again to comment via the Uber Eats app to comment "all of my allergens" so they can not be added to my meal. After much of a long winded conversation they were very unwelcoming to help me out with anything besides a "we'll see what we can do next time" little effort was undertaken to help me out. And to actually be told that it's "your fault" and that "everyone knows potato is in the dish, it's traditional". After I replied that there will not be a next time I was hung up on.

Looking at other reviews it appears that ordering through Uber eats, Menulog etc. is not the way to go! I picked this place because the delivery time on Uber stated 20-35 mins which was the quickest out of all the Indian restaurants in our area. Our dinner was delivered 1 hour 10 mins later We ordered x2 naans and x2 butter chicken meal deals that comes with a coke. I specifically put in the notes if we could have 2 coke zeros, only to receive 2 cokes (previously my partner has swapped out a coke for a Coke Zero without any problems). From our experience and reading other reviews it appears they don’t read the orders or notes properly on any online ordering. Price wise ($10 for the meal deal) you get what you pay for - mediocre butter chicken and rice. Not terrible but definitely not delicious authentic butter chicken that you can get at other restaurants. There is also a lack of meat in the dish, but I guess that’s what you get for $10 these days ‍♀️ Taste wise it’s essentially the equivalent of a butter chicken you could get from coles or Woolies… actually I take that back I reckon I got a better one from Woolies one time.

The restaurant wasn’t overly tidy when we visited, and the food didn’t meet expectations (ie: Vindaloo on the menu reads “This dish is definitely not for the faint hearted”… Not only was the dish bland, but it tasted like a watery pasta sauce). Flavours across all the dishes weren’t satisfying. The worst part of all was a sign taped to the counter that we only saw after entering the store to pick up our take away mentioning a price increase. Being this was our first time coming here we picked up a menu to take home assuming it had the latest prices in there, but we were unfortunately mistaken. They charged a further $10 on top of what we expected from the menu without any FYI, explanation, etc. Understanding that costs are difficult to manage currently, but I think it’s important to be upfront with customers when taking their orders, not silently charging them afterwards.

If I could give less than one star I would! This restaurant is the worst of the worst. They couldn't care less about their customers at all. I received the wrong meal from this restaurant, wrong meat, wrong naan and missing items. Contacted the restaurant and via phone and the person I spoke to couldn't have cared any less. He refused to replace the incorrect items, refused to refund my money, he was rude and arrogant and had zero customer service ability. He actually admitted they had got the order totally wrong and yet still refused to replace or refund! This was actually the second time I had received the incorrect order from this same restaurant, the first time I put it down to an accident, however clearly they are incompetent and couldn't care any less about their customers and are only after their money. Would not recommend anyone eat here. Terrible service, Terrible Staff, Terrible attitude, Terrible Food.

Worst Indian, not only was the butter chicken bland and tasteless but I had asked for some chilli to be added and they did not add any. I ended up adding my own spices and salt to make it bearable and edible. My partner got the lamb malabar and the taste was okay - not great. The worst part was the two HUGE hairs we pulled out of the curry, they were so embedded in the sauce and they were white and extremely long. Not only all of this but we are now sitting here and our stomachs are very upset, won’t stop gurgling and we both feel sick. Already been to the bathroom a couple times and not looking forward to the rest of the night. So disappointed definitely will never be going back, should’ve listened to the other reviews on here but thought we’d give them a chance. Yuck.

We ordered off menulog tonight as it was free delivery. Our order was the "deal for three" and we paid around $45. Im super happy with the price and especially the free delivery. We waited around 50 minutes for delivery to aberfoyle park on a saturday night (not bad). Butter chicken, lamb korma and beef rogan josh were delicous and full of flavour. Honestly cannot fault anything!! Why would you use any other indian shop when you can have the best indian for the right price from Jai hoo indian!! Will be comming back for more in the future.

The 1 star is because the food was tasty, however the staff are so unbelievably rude. I placed an order tonight and an item was missing. When I rang them they said they had sent it and basically called me a liar. I had to file a complaint with menulog and ended up getting 20% of my order refunded. Yes they are local but they need to up their customer service skills as there are many other Indian restaurants who are just as good or better, and who appreciate their customers keeping their business going. I for one will not be ordering from them again!

2nd time weve had trouble ordering. Directed to OzFoodHunter who said cant deliver after completing order. Ordered through Menulog and was cancelled which we didnt realise. Last order was cold and spoke to a staff member who said we were last delivery of a few. No apology. Have used Jai Hoo for years now never again. Cant call restaurant..call goes to beeps then engaged. Relying on online delivery apps that dont always work. They used to handle their own delivery. Hour and a half later and have gone to another restaurant with better service.

We just moved down south and the first time the food and service were good, signed up for a loyalty card which has been totally useless. We live close so my kids walked to pick up order the next few times. They are extremely rude, dismissive and not once have they used the loyalty card we hand over. The food is getting worse along with their attitides. They have their own child wandering about so assumed they might have better skills dealing with children coming to pick up a phone order..... going elsewhere and loyalty means nothing to them.

Dreadful. Ordered meal deal for three. Curries weren’t labelled so had no idea what was what. They were all like soup. Should have been mild medium and hot, there was no heat at all, all very mild. Forgot the poppodums from the order and apparently there were onion rings but they were small over cooked balls of something unidentifiable with no flavour and you could see the flour that hadn’t been cooked inside. Wont order from here again.

Just spent 70 on the worst butter chicken and garlic naan I have ever had . The naan is absolutely soaked in oil and the curry is very watery and tastes like sugar. I have had food from jai ho many times and never had food that bad that we had to put it in the bin. When I tried to make a call their number is not connected. I’m done with them. Goodbye.

I regularly order from here, including tonight. I've eaten curry in many different places around the world and rate this very highly. Just reading some of the recent negative reviews out of curiosity and they don't appear authentic. What? Is there an expectation of 500g of prime lamb as an ingredient for a dish that costs $16?

Food is good, delivery times ok. Everyone though should be aware that companies like Menulog and Uber Eats charge the restaurant a commission of up to around 30% so if you want to help the owners stay in business you should phone them directly to order instead of the profits going into the pockets of the delivery firm.

Its super local and reasonably priced. It's what you get when you dont want to cook and don't feel like anything else offered locally. It's really a choice of convenience rather than flavour. Food tastes good enough for a local.

Ordered vindaloo an rice amazing.. partner ordered butterchicken - the butter chicken was cooked on the outside but was raw in the middle. Actual washed it an seen it was pink.. we called to notify them an they had no interest in caring. - please if you eat there check your chicken.

Delivery was quick, curries a bit watery, and bland out of the 3 curries we ordered the lamb rogan josh was the tastiest, naan very powdery and not very much garlic flavour. Didn't get my rice pudding either, lady was polite on the phone also :)

Food is great... however, we ordered through menu log and I instead of barramundi they gave us butter chicken which we get sick off... and we got sick and they did nothing to rectify it. The customer service is ridiculously bad... long long

So delicious. Can't fault a dish yet. Have had a few long waits but probably just due to it being busy. It's not ideal especially when the kids are hungry and need to go to bed but it's worth the wait for the price and flavours.

Excellent service, good food and good location. We walked here one Sunday evening and ate in. Cosy, small restaurant with casual atmosphere. Wasn’t the best Saag Paneer I’ve had but still very good. We enjoyed the entree plate.

Great place for top quality Indian food.We like to dine in great service. Also good to get takeaway. Vindaloos are hot which I enjoy others like milder options such as butter chicken. So something to suit all tastes.

I placed an order through uber eats. After dishing up my meal I discovered that my mild chicken and chic pea curry was infact a hot chic pea curry with no chicken in sight.

We tried Jai Ho again Saturday night after giving it a miss for a while. Last time we had food here we thought it was generally too sweet, and that was the savoury dishes.
