When my mother passed away, it was so wonderful to deal with Dorothy Trimble for all my mother's arrangements. She was extremely professional and very caring as we went through all the necessary details for her funeral plans. I strongly urge people to inquire about the pre-arranged funeral package. My mother had worked with James Reid years ago to pay for and plan her funeral. Dorothy, immediately, had all the information as soon as I called to notify them she had passed away. It certainly saved me a lot of stress from having to try to find all the paperwork! Also, it was wonderful to be assisted a few days later by Therese Barrett, the Estate Care provider who carefully went through all the extra important details that one needs to follow up with after a loved one passes to ensure their estate requirements are met.. When you are dealing with grief, it is so helpful to have these expert professionals guide through the process with such empathy. I would not hesitate to recommend James Reid Funeral Home to anyone . My family and I thank them very much for looking after us!

Dorothy Trimble-Hayes is a very dedicated, kind and compassionate funeral director. She assisted me a number of years ago after the sudden death of my husband, and more recently when I took a friend of mine to Reid's following the death of his father. On both occasions, Dorothy was an absolute pleasure to work with. She presented all of the options while never once making us feel pressured to opt for more expensive options or services. In fact, she would point out the more economical options and indicate that many choose those over the more costly, thus alleviating any guilt at not choosing the more expensive. On both occasions, I was completely satisfied with both the level of service and the cost, and I would not hesitate to recommend James Reid Funeral Home and especially Dorothy Trimble-Hayes.

All the staff at James Reid Funeral Home, from the Director, Duncan Jamieson and the Estate Care Provider, Therese Barrett to the receptionists at the entrance were extremely helpful and understanding. When a loved one passes away, in addition to being overcome with grief, there are so many bureaucratic and legal issues which the family must deal with. We were impressed by the expertise and professionalism demonstrated by everyone we met. We had extensive meetings with the staff, focused on both estate and bereavement matters, during which detailed and thorough explanations were provided on arrangements to be made. This was undertaken with great sensitivity and attention to our wishes. We appreciated very much everyone's invaluable support and efforts to assist us and ease our sorrow.

In your sadist days, when you are overwhelmed, you need trusted friend to hold your hand and offer to help to make things easier. James Reid and his staff did just that, helped make those days easier. They let my family and I, grieve while they look after all the details. No request was denied, no task too big or too small. They didn’t push, they didn’t “sell”, they offered solutions and would let us decided and then they found a way of getting it done. Jame Reid’s and his staff showed great compassion and were there helping the whole time. Even after it was all over they meet with us to explain how to deal with some of the paper work for the estate. So, yes I would highly recommend them in your sadist days, like a trusted friend, they will make it easier.

From the moment I contacted James Reid regarding my mom’s death I received professional, compassionate assistance at every step of the process. Everything was done as quickly as I could have it done. The reception of life was expertly handled within their big beautiful receiving room. The decorations and flowers were already in place when we arrived. Staff quietly and efficiently laid out food for the attending guests. Once the event was over staff helped us clean-up. Post event support was amazing as a friendly staff member helped me through all the things I would need to do in terms of notifications, etc. I was impressed by the care and concern James Reid afforded my family and me. I highly recommend James Reid for funeral service.

I cannot say enough amazing things about James Reid Funeral Home, their kindness shows in every detail. When my Mother passed away she had nothing prepared for end of life care. Needless to say I was completely lost on what to do next, but the funeral director Mackenzie, *****Amazing Guy, five stars for him.**** took time from his lunch to rush back even though I was an hour early for my appointment. Mackenzie called helping me through the steps. Such a professional care group of people. Oh yeah, there was even freshly baked cookies. You have gone above my expectionation and will highly recommend your funeral services.

Over the years, my family has trusted James Reid’s Funeral Home to help us prepare for our final goodbye’s. I can say with all honesty, their staff is so kind, respectful and knowledgeable. Their attention to every little detail is second to none. Everyone is treated with dignity and respect. The most recent passings were my Mother and then Father. James Reid Funeral Home went above and beyond my expectations for my daughter's funeral arrangements. They are meticulous, professional, knowledgeable and very compassionate. They guided me with every aspect and were very understanding. They were never pushy or demanding and aloud me the time I needed to process everything that was happening and gave me time to make choices without feeling rushed. I would wholeheartedly recommend them to help you through this difficult time.

Jim is very professional and a very compassionate man. Excellent service from this establishment. My only complaint would be that Dennis seemed to be very "sales" oriented and seemed almost pushy when dealing with my mother's death. He did respect all of the choices that I ultimately made, but was rather insistent that I look at all of the options even though I knew what I wanted. Still worthy of 5 stars compared to the horror stories I have heard from other establishments.

I can’t thank the staff enough at James Reid’s for their wonderful service. For my dads passing I had the pleasure of having Mac Ferris as Funeral Director. I cannot say enough great things and he made this horrific time bearable. Also thank you to Jim Reid who was our neighbour for many years . We were treated with respect, dignity and kindness. During covid it is especially hard but Mac made it all so easy. Thank you again . I will never forget the kindness and help.

The wonderful staff helped guide me on a difficult journey. They knew the right questions to ask to provide what I wanted for my mother. The aftercare is exceptional, helping complete the proper documents as well as providing bereavement services. I just contacted them and they took care of the rest by guiding me through the whole process. I am very pleased with the services I recieved and highly recommend James Reid funeral home.

Everyone was caring, attentive, professional, and really just lovely during this difficult time. All aspects of the services provided were thoroughly explained and efficiently implemented. James Reid's is great in all aspects; attention to detail, thorough yet patient and very mindful of the situation people are in.
