    "I had not been to the dentist in about 4 years, I am so happy I chose to go to Jefferson Dental & Orthodontics! The manager Yasmín made me feel so comfortable and made sure to answer all of my questions, she also helped me find a good financing option to make sure I could get everything I needed to get done! Melanie and Raquel are some of the amazing women that helps you get signed in and sets the mood and energy for everyone that walks in and they did it all with a smile on their face! My dentist Shea made sure to give me information about hygiene and she deep cleaned my teeth and even used a laser??! So cool! My teeth were so shiny and felt brand new!!! Also my Orthodontist Athina was so free spirited and really gave me hope that my teeth could be fixed and made me feel so excited to come back for my Invisalign!! And my treatment coordinator, Evelyn was so sweet and made sure I was comfortable smiling the whole time!! Overall if you are looking for a place to get your teeth taken care of Jefferson Dental is the place to go!! You will feel like family here, you will leave feeling so confident and will be excited to come back!!! Thank you all for y’all’s help! Such an amazing experience!!!! 10/10"

This may appear as an indicator of their responsiveness and commitment to improvement - I can surely say this is not the case. Out sheer morbid curiosity I did call the number. On 2 separate occasions it took me to a switchboard/answering service. The operator told me that the number, though indeed it is the number for their corporate office, they (the SWITCHBOARD) have no way of connecting me over there. Ultimately the operator sent out an email which was supposed to go to corporate, to give me a call back. I ended up getting a call (not from corporate) from the same office that I complained about. On the line was a confused and somewhat brusque staff member with whom I certainly had no interest in discussing my negative experience/feedback. Another waste of time. Their concerned reply is naught but a vacant attempt to give the appearance of concern. ****************************************************************** ORIGINAL REVIEW: I recently established care at this dental office after moving to Austin. My typical needs are no more than a bi-annual routine cleaning. At my first appointment back in December of 2022, nothing egregious happened, but I had to wait about 40 mins past my appointment time (about 1 hour past my arrival time) for a cleaning and check up that was mediocre. At that time I had a full set of X-rays taken. Fast forward to about 8 months later, I went in for second cleaning. When I got to the chair the attendant started to prepare me for more X-rays. I asked why I was getting X-rays again and she told me they do them for all patients. I told her I just had X-rays at my last visit and I just wanted my teeth cleaned. She appeared unsure how to respond so she went to call over a colleague, I am presuming a dental hygienist who informed me that they are REQUIRED to obtain X-rays every 6 months with cleanings. I expressed that I was not comfortable with this as previously I only had X-rays every 12 months. She asked me if I was insured, which I said I was, and she again stated that insurance REQUIRES this because if they miss anything the dental office will be liable. I told her that I was perfectly comfortable with them documenting that I refused the X-rays if this relieves them of any liability. She continued to insist that they are REQUIRED to obtain X-rays every 6 months and then refused to complete the cleaning without the X-rays. This seemed unusual to me as I have never experienced such a thing in my years of visiting the dentist. I called my old dentist who informed me that insurance typically does not cover twice a year X-rays so they typically do them every 12 months, except if there is a special circumstance that makes them necessary and in such a case they first discuss it with the patient as it often comes at an out of pocket cost. Well perhaps (I thought to myself) this was just a different state and maybe Texas had different requirements. I went on to contact another dental office in Austin who stated that they also only perform X-rays every 12 months (there is no such REQUIREMENT for X-rays every 6 months, although each practice may have its own internal policy). Next step was to check the ADA guidelines, perhaps there is some evidence based guideline that influenced this decision/practice, and sure enough THERE ARE NO SUCH REQUIREMENTS from the ADA. Finally I called my insurance to check if I was even covered for twice yearly X-rays, and sure enough they informed me that they only covered ONCE A YEAR. So, in short this place was trying to FORCE me to have X-rays every 6 months that are NOT required by any law or guideline and are furthermore not even covered by my insurance, and they essentially refused to clean my teeth if I did not get them. Anyway this place was a complete waste of my time. If I could give 0 stars I sure would, and I certainly would not recommend them to anyone else.

overall three star experience. one star: because they had wizards of waverly place & slayyy i love selenrrrr second star: staff was nice, greeted and were attentive. one of the dental assistants that took my x-rays was so nice and i loved her so much; 10000000 infinite stars to her they were having technical issues, and another of the d.a. was getting frustrated and hit me with the x-ray thing… it wasn’t intentional so its okay ig…. idk if he’s like new but the other dental assistant ended up taking my x-rays which i was very happy about… because she was so gentle, yet very effective with taking the xrays… more stars to her the dentist was okay, was there for like 2 minutes… then the orthodontist came in like 1 minute, they’re just that good… :) the third star is for the front desk for telling me the cost and being nice and also having nice nails and also saying that my purse was cute…<3 they couldn’t do a cleaning in that moment because it was their lunch time… and also haven’t emailed me my x-rays or info that i requested… mercury retrograde is really hitting, i’d like to think that. also you can hear everyone’s business like i heard some guy struggling to make a payment on a treatment and like idk but i don’t want to be listening to that because that’s him… and like ummm i would be so embarrassed if someone would hear me disclose information like that or anything personal and everyone in the building hear about my credit score… there’s vulnerability when it comes to teeth because people are all up in your mouth and other aspects… it’s not like you’re just replacing someone’s busted gasket or oxygen sensor… i mean even with that people freak out, imagine their teeth and the payment oof sorry i went off… did i leave satisfied, no… will not be coming back? no would i say i don’t recommend? not necessarily, because i didn’t receive any treatment other than an inspection… time wise i waited 40 min. location sucks because it’s william cannon obviously there’s drug addicts running outside but it was the closest to me so i risked that… and it smells like pee outside. lol but like ik that has nothing to do with them, but if you go to this location don’t expect like anything fancy ok i’m done

Literal body horror. Dentist numbed my left side to work on 10&12. He drilled 10&12. Then filled 12. Started shaving down 7. I asked him to stop because I was in pain. I expressed “I didn’t know you were going to work on that side. It’s not numb. That hurts.” Told me, “it’s because we need to work so close to the gum line.” He finished working on 7, didn’t polish any of the two fillings, didn’t finish filling 10, said he was done and left. I was shaking and crying because of the pain of having tooth 7 drilled. I felt a giant gap on 10 and a sharp edge on 7. Nurse called him in. He filled 10 then denied ever working on 7. Told me “you are probably just noticing that because you’re more aware of how your mouth feels right now.” I left and looked at 12 in the mirror and it looks so bad. It looks like Texas. I screamed because of the body horror feeling. Like SCREAM screamed. Waiting to hear from the regional manager. Experiencing temperature sensitivity where I didn’t before. I’m in pain. I’m afraid that if I eat my teeth will break. Tooth 7 is so thin and still has the sharp edge on it. My teeth are gritty because they weren’t polished after the fillings. Update: went for a reassessment because I was afraid I needed a root canal. Another Jefferson Dentist determined I wouldn’t need one. A few weeks later, I needed an emergency root canal. A new dentist determined that Dr. Novak (the Jefferson dentist that worked on me) put the filling in the root of my tooth causing nerve damage and death. Second update: the second picture is of tooth 7 where the dentist denied drilling on it. My tooth was smooth before he worked on it. Save yourself time and money. Do not go here.

Mixed feelings about this dental office. First experience was when I booked an appointment for 9:00 AM during the week. I came and the doors were locked and they were not answering the phone. At 10 AM, they finally showed up, saying they had an office off-site meeting. No notification on their website or phone line or an email about this. I had waited on my car for over an hour, waiting for them to show up. I'm on their "Savings Plan" for people without dental insurance. $29/year for one person. They said when I signed up that I would get one free cleaning per year with the plan. And I did! So, when another year rolls around and I book another appointment, a person from the office called me to confirm appointment. THEY said I would get free x-rays and cleaning. When I arrived at the office, they confirmed that again. I sat in the chair for one hour getting x-rays and 3D imaging done. A worker comes to me and says they can start the cleaning and it would be $134. ...what the heck? I told them that their own workers confirmed I would get a free cleaning and the guy just said that wasn't correct and it would be $134. Their workers don't seem to all be on the same page when it comes to policies, billing, and such. Plus, they sometimes try to reschedule your appointment to way different times. I would be an early morning appointment and they would call me a day or two before the appointment and say "sorry, we don't have that slot, but we can do 5pm. Does that work?" I don't have a lot of flexibility with PTO and scheduling days off. So when their website shows an available slot...I would think that slot would be available to have the appointment.

Dr Vogelsong fixed a chip in my front tooth with the latest state-of-the-art material that automatically adapts to the correct color match. Amazing! As well, because I purchased Jefferson’s discount plan in January 2023, any exams and dental work done during this year is reduced substantially in cost! YAY! Not only is that a bargain, but Dr Vogelsong assured me that IF this front upper tooth filling comes out anytime during the next 12 months or so, he will fix that tooth again free-of-charge! Wow! What a wonderful assurance for folks or seniors on a fixed income that this company will stand by their work! After spending more than $1000 on this tooth (3 fillings done by another dentist elsewhere), I’m SO excited to find that I sm getting much better care at Jefferson. I’m leaving my appointment today in such a happy mood & not one bit concerned about any future financial issues over this tooth! I recommend this practice at William Cannon @ I-35 South. The entire staff is great!!

I had severe tooth pain on a Sunday so I called Jefferson that Sunday and thank god they were happy to schedule me for the next day!! I arrived at 10:15am Monday morning and both women at the front desk were very nice helpful and understanding! The assistants were very nice made me feel comfortable after I was taken to the back. The dentist himself was very professional and straight to the point which I like because I don't want the run around. They helped me get financed for my work that needed to be done quick and easy and tbh from past experiences at other places I'd say priced reasonably! Overall they are my official dentist office now! Thanks again everybody at the E William Cannon location y'all keep pushing!

This is the first place that ever tells me if I don’t get my Invisalign done with them I can’t get my checkups here. Whoever called me today seems as if they’re still in high school looking for drama with their customers. The lady that called me earlier said I was rude but in reality I’m the one making time out of my job to answer their unwanted calls and rude responses. Who’s the disrespectful one? I can get Invisalign for a better price and service where I can pay out of pocket elsewhere and the representative said that since I’m on a payment plan with a third party they use I can’t get anything done elsewhere otherwise they wouldn’t be able to service me for my checkups. Very unprofessional.

The receptionist was kind and wonderful and helpful the doctor was respectful and wonderful and the technician that did my ex rays explain each step and was gentle with the equipment knowing I had so much pain it’s the first place I’ve been to in along time where they treated me like a human not even hospitals or H-E-B or just anywhere I’ve been to in the past 5 years have any compassion and with all I’m been going through I’m so thankful for once I was treated with great respect I was not able to get my theeth fix bc of money issues but at least I got see what was wrong with me and it meant so much to be treated with kindness so thank you so so much god bless you all

I recently got some work done at Jefferson dental (William cannon location). The doctor Dr. Shea, and his assistant Zack, as well as the hygienist Avery, did a very excellent job on making a nervous dental visitor like myself quite comfortable and calm for my procedure. They did a very excellent job on the work that I needed done. The beautiful ladies in the reception area (Yasmin, Sandra, and Evelyn) in the front were so inviting and made you feel comfortable and ready to get your work done. Stay away! New to area and insurance had not activated yet. Took my exam money and when it came to the procedure I couldn’t qualify for their financing. My face was swollen (double in size) needless to say they only watched me walk out the door. Unless I paid upfront no services rendered. Found a new dentist! Completed the SURGICAL EXTRACTION and bone graph TODAY and while I am free from the excruciating pain I was treated as a Human suffering even before credit was approved. This place is only about the money and DO NOT care about YOU as a human. Imagine beyond the dollars, what’s your worth? Trust me there are better out there.

Absolute waste of time. Not worth the visit. They reached out to us to schedule a 6 month check up. Then they sent me 7 different text messages confirming my appointment, emailed twice and called. Excessive. We waited 10 minutes before they even checked us in. Went back and they put my child through over 20 minutes of X-rays. They wouldn’t clean her teeth because they scheduled us on a day the hygienist doesn’t work…. So now they want us to come in another day and it’s going to cost $140 for a 6 month cleaning that should be covered at 100%. Never heard of this in my life. An absolute waste of time.

My experience at Jefferson was great, everyone in the front office was great (Sandra, Evelyn, and Yasmin) made my experience fast and easy. Once I was passed to the back the assistant, Naomi, who guided me through my XRays was friendly and worked as quick as possible. She also made conversation and was looking for my best interest in my dental work. Dr. Athena the orthodontist was super friendly and kind. The doctors are all good , but I scheduled a cleaning and they took over 2 hours to NOT clean my teeth, instead they took X-Rays and gave recommendations on Invisalign. Something I did not want done at that time. This all in lieu of doing the cleaning that I showed up and scheduled for. I had an emergency situation and no appointment when I walked in. I was greeted with a smile by three staffers made time to see me and get a diagnosis to my broken off front tooth. Everyone were very polite and handled their part in a professional manner. Doctor Jeff reviewed the new set of x-rays and presented an alternative to my issues and concerns. was told to call if i had any pain after tooth extraction, i am in an extreme amount of pain. felt like they rushed my tooth extraction because they wanted to go to lunch my appointment was at 10:15 and didn't leave till 1:07 for single tooth removal. tried to upcharge me on multiple bridges, braces, implants. it felt like they didn't listen to me at all. 18 calls later and I just keep getting sent to the call center where they can't transfer me to the actual clinic.

Do not come here. They did a terrible job with my tooth implant in 2020. I had to come back in 2023 (they scheduled me, knowing the issue) and told me when I got there that they are not equipped to fix my loose crown. When trying to refer me to another doc, they did not have the records showing the type of implant that the new place needed. Save yourself the trouble from this incompetent business.

Came here for a chipped filling and a deep cleaning. Very clean facility and good service both at the front desk and in the chair. I felt very cared for and the hygienist took extra care to explain things in detail to me. I feel like I got what I paid for and learned a lot too. I was stressed about my teeth and they really helped put my mind at ease and fix me up.

Well….. yall asked me to leave a review. Personnel and staff were great… super friendly. Cleaning and everything went well. WHAT DID NOT GO WELL was showing up on time for a 4:30pm appointment, and not getting into a chair until 6:15pm.
