This was the worst experience. I live out of town and ordered a cake for a birthday party. I needed to have it delivered. I ordered it online. In order to have it delivered, has to be a $100 cake. I was willing to add to the cake to hit it at the hundred dollar mark since I live in another state, and then find out that the place I was having it delivered, in downtown Chicago, was out of their radius, and I would have to pay another additional amount so I was in for about $150 for this cake. I decided to pick it up via Uber. When I got to the bakery, they had put strawberries on the top, which was not part of the cake, so the box wouldn’t close. I put the age on the It and then found out she didn’t want it. I called the day before I picked up the cake, and they said they weren’t sure if they could do that because it was already ordered. It was a day before I was picking it up. The bad thing was, when I got the cake to the restaurant, it was not even worth $25 let alone 80. Plus, in order to check out, I had to tip the Baker, which to me, I think that’s their job to make a cake. Worst experience ever. Cake was just OK. Pretty dry. Definitely not worth the money or the problem. I could’ve gone to Whole Foods!

This is my second time ordering from them and it was not a good experience. I gave them a reference of a cake I wanted and it turned out to not look like the cake I wanted at all. It also doesnt help that they don't offer to send progress pics before picking it up. Left photo is the reference pic and the right is the cake I got. Not to mention I ordered last year from them (same flavor but larger size) and it turned out to be the same price. It's not consistent at all. Last year's cake was more complicated in design and it was cheaper than this year's?? This will be the last time I order from them. Also the "3D parts" were an additional 30 dollars if I wanted them. theyre literally supposed to be buttercream figures...Not to mention they used hot pink icing for the writing? I was so disappointed. 3rd photo is last year's cake. It looked so beautiful yet this time it looks so rushed.

Based on a recommendation from our wedding photographer, without ever having visited the bakery, we ordered our cake from Jennivee’s — sight unseen. To our surprise and delight, it was absolutely the best wedding cake we’ve ever seen or tasted. Gabby was so incredibly responsive and helpful with our order, including a special request for a white cake board (vs the standard silver). They got every detail right, the price was competitive, the delivery was on time, and it was as delicious as it was beautiful. I can’t recommend Jennivee’s enough. PS - we are, now, also big fans of their cupcakes and cake slices. The signature ube and cookies and cream flavors are our favorite!

First time trying this bakery and I placed an order through Uber eats, the cakes are pretty thick and tall for the price. Got a slice of Southern Gent cake & Tres leches. The Southern is delicious, tastes like a carrot cake but has pineapple but the ginger or cinnamon in it cancels out the pineapple. The tres leches cake is bad, doesn’t taste like tres leches it’s very bland , just super moist, it’s a vanilla cake drenched in milk with butter can’t taste any vanilla or sweetened condensed milk which is what a traditional tres leches cake has.

Pandan- these are so bright and fun. The flavor is also coconutty but you def taste the pandan. Ube- tastes just like ube! Has some coconut too.. yummy Dark chocolate tiramisu-very rich, do not get unless you reaaaaally love dark chocolate. Tres leches- pretty on point for tres leches but not as milky as a traditional tres leches. Mango cream- so dreamy..get it.. Matcha cherry- I'm never a fan of matcha and I ACTUALLY enjoyed this flavor combination. The cherry also tasted fresh and not "fake" . They're all good.. I just prefer some over others!! As will everyone :) Love jennivees, the only place I'll buy cupcakes from in the city. Always worth the drive!

Absolutely amazing! As a home baker, i am often underwhelmed by bakery cakes. so after a little research I requested my partner order my birthday cake from Jennivee's this year and it was anything but disappointing. We had the 'Bad and Boujie' it was DELICIOUS. Great balance of flavors. The cake was so rich and moist that its reminiscent of a brownie. I have no idea how they got the frosting so rich, creamy and fluffy all at once. And on top of all that, ITS GORGEOUS!! Ive never been more impressed by a cake shop. Cannot wait to have a reason to try the mango cream and ube cakes! Thank you so much to Jennivees!

Everything I have gotten here has been top notch. Because of this if there is a major milestone in my relationship, I go here. If I need a pick me up on a Wednesday afternoon, I go here. If I want to reward myself for a job well done and it’s late, I go here(it closes at 10pm). Basically I go here! The staff is always super friendly. It is Filipino owned and you know what that means…ube!! The ube cupcakes are immaculate, the red velvet cupcakes are celestial and the mango cupcakes are spiritual. Like I said you cannot go wrong here and the staff will answer your questions to fit your mood with your taste buds.

Coming from a former professionally trained pastry chef, I have to say Jennivee's has the best cakes I've eaten so far. It's consistent, tasty, great portion(cake slices) and overall just fantastic. Every cake is unique and worth a try. My favorites are the Purple Velvet Cake, the Mango Cream Cake and the Berry Chantilly Cake. 12/10 would recommend!

I was super impressed by the fresh flavors throughout the cupcakes. Each cake tasted hand-made rather than the fine crumb of cake mix. The mango was perfectly balanced to get the flavor without being too tart. The ube was masterful, and not too sweet. The chocolate tres leche was moist and delicious. The chocolate coconut really made both flavors shine. The ube brownie was also balanced to be flavorful, but not too sweet. A delight for the mouth when most other cupcakes only look pretty.

Tried out this bakery near my house in Lakeview. Since pandan is the flavor from my country, I decided to try the Buko Pandan cake. The cake is soft and fluffy but there is no taste of Pandan in there. So please find the real Pandan leaves or get some authentic Pandan essence and make your Buko Pandan real Pandan cake. Reduce the amount of coconut inside the cake as well. Also $9 for a slice of cake too pricey. Probably won’t be coming back often.

The cakes were delicious, although not a lot of berries between the sheets. If you decide to get the Berry Chantilly Cake- make sure you pay extra for fresh fruit garnish. Pick up time was scheduled for 7 pm and I got an e-mail a couple days prior that due to being the Wednesday prior to Thanksgiving they close early- understandble, but would have been nice to know when I placed the order.

I cannot recommend Jennivee's enough for any and all cakes, cupcakes, and desserts! I have been a long-time customer and just recently had a custom cake ordered for my mom's birthday. Jennivee's knocked it out of the park with this beautiful, succulent-inspired cake! It tasted amazing and looked almost too beautiful to eat. I always enjoy my experience with their employees and will continue to be a loyal customer!

Amazing bakery! I was not a cake lover by any means (even had an ice cream cake for my wedding), but their cake has changed my mind. Both their tres leches and purple velvet cakes were out of this world. Their frosting was not heavy, more whipped, which was perfect. The super nice gentlemen working the night we came in (also my b-day), gave us the two cupcakes for the occasion. Awesome place, will be back:)

I was amazed by the variety and options in the display! There are so many unique flavors available, and each cake and cupcake is so beautifully decorated. I got the tiramisu and ube chocolate. The cupcake was moist and soft, and I did not find it too overwhelmingly sweet. The cream on top was light and airy, and complemented the cake well. I am excited to return and try the other flavors :)

I bought a banana bread and piece of cake on weekend and I liked it, but some foreign object was came out from the bread. It's about 0.35 inches of clear and sharp plastic piece. I feel sick and disgusted It was last piece of the bread so I almost ate them all, It also could be dangerous because it's kind a sharp. I won't say this bakery has hygenic issue but I would never go here again.

This place is wonderful, a haven for people with a sweet tooth. The inside is kind of small, so on a busy day you probably won't get seats. The bakery is clean, very well lit and holy cow the employees are super friendly. I had the cookies and cream cupcake and it was absolutely scrumptious. I highly recommend this place to people looking for desserts or sweets during any time.

Undoubtedly, the best cake shop around! Their mousse cupcakes are to die for— it’s always a struggle to choose from their flavors!! They are all delicious - hazelnut bomb, ube and mango cream has to be our fav!! This place is pretty far from our house, and there were weeks when we ordered online from them ,every single day of the week!! Absolutely delicious .

I’m not a sweets person. Don’t even particularly like cake. Used to have my mom get a pie for my birthday. I have dreams about the chocolate tres leches cupcake. I could eat a 6 pack of them and I don’t often eat any desert items anywhere. Soooo good. The peanut butter cupcake makes the wife smile. Good place for purchasing wife-smiles as well.

Two hit birthday cakes now, and counting! We’ve tried purple velvet cake (my personal favorite) and strawberry red velvet cake to date, and all party guests were obsessed with the flavor and quality. Definitely worth the price to impress your loved ones and friends :) Can’t wait to pop in and try more flavors by way of cupcakes!

Cute bakery to visit when you come to Chicago. My friends and I picked out 4 cupcakes to go and we chose: Mango, Ube, Hazelnut, and Tres Leches. All of the cupcakes weren't overly sweet and they stayed moist. I love that this bakery serves Filipino flavors as well. Definitely recommend coming to Jennivee's if you're in the area!

I cannot recommend Jennivee's enough for gorgeous, detailed custom cakes! The whole team was professional and super helpful from consult emails to pick-up day. I ordered a custom birthday cake for my sister, and it turned out beautifully; they were extremely detailed in executing exactly the design we asked for. So impressed!

Wow these are the best cakes I’ve ever had in Chicago! Super moist! I think the best they have is the York peppermint chocolate one they don’t make it very often, but when they do, it’s. Also, the mango cream is perfect. I’m always trying to check and see you when they have a new ones. I wish it was closer to where I live.

We have always loved Jennivee’s so getting a custom wedding cake from here was a no brainer! Gabby was supportive, responsive, and so helpful! Incredible cupcakes!! My work ordered a variety for a Pride event and they were such a big hit!! The ube cupcakes were PERFECT, and reminded me of the ube sheet cakes my family would buy growing up, but even better. I cannot wait to visit the shop myself and get more desserts to share with family.

Worth every dollar! Do yourself the favor and order an Ube cupcake or cake slice. Every cake from here is the perfect bite for someone who isn’t a huge sweets fan. If I lived in Chicago, I’d frequent this bakery like crazy. The next time I’m in the city, Jennivee’s will be my first stop!!

Jennivee’s offers an extensive variety of uniquely flavored cupcakes, including ube and pandan. We also tried their mango pandan cheesecake, and the flavor was exceptional, with delicious layers of butter cake with strong pandan flavor and a layer mango cheesecake in the center.
