Do you think anyone reading this looks favorably on you taking an opportunity to try and say how many cars you sell, instead of dealing with the actual issue? Back in 2020, I saw this Red Ram 1500 online being sold by Jim Thompson Chrysler. I thought it looked good, so I reached out to them. I made it clear that I wasn't from the area, so I wouldn't be able to just pop over and take a look. I asked their sales guy to do a walkaround or me and check if there was any obvious damage, if yes send me pictures, if no, great! I was told the truck was in great shape, no damage at all. Since the dealership was pretty far from me and I was trading in my vehicle I was driving there, we agreed to the prices for trade and sale prior to me coming, so that I could just swap keys and drive home. Here's where things started to get weird. Despite being advertised by Jim Thompson Chrysler, it turned out the truck was actually being sold by some company next door called CarLoft. This should've been my first clue that something was off. When I finally got there, the truck had clear damage on the front quarter panel. You couldn't miss it. It was very obvious. The sales guy, meeting me there, admitted he saw the damage a day before but didn't tell me. He said he wanted me to see it in person, which just felt like another red flag to me. Sales pressure tactics 101, like to me, get me there... Despite being annoyed, the sales guy convinced me he'd get the damage fixed. He even brought in a younger manager at CarLoft who backed him up. I thought they'd keep their word, but that was a no-go. After I left, it was like I'd vanished. I called them a bunch of times, left messages to arrange the fix, but no one got back to me. In the end, I swapped the vehicle for an undamaged one at a local dealer. It wasn't much more expensive than fixing the panel on the damaged truck, punishment for trusting Jim Thompson Chrysler/Carloft, lesson learned. It was clear to me that Jim Thompson Chrysler and Carloft just don't care about customers once they've made the sale. That was going to be the end of it, but.... Earlier this week, and out of the blue, I get a call from Carloft. They said it was a "courtesy call" to check on the truck I didn't even have anymore and to tell me about their latest deals. Clearly the had zero intention of fixing the damages from the start or they would have noted my file.  The call went sideways real quick when I brought up the past issue. The sales guy was just interested in making another sale, and he wasn't really listening to what I had to say. He even hung up on me, after saying it was a courtesy call. He called me on my work line and when he realised it was recorded he got real upset and hung up complaining it's illegal and other false, rude things like oh he has an appt waiting etc. They just don't care. If it's truely a courtesy call you'd stop trying to sell and look into fixing the issue. Not tell me unless you buy again from us there is no way for us to fix that issue.... Yes that is their excuse, spend more money so we can then account for the issue. Total garbage. I tried calling back and was told to email a guy named Kerry about my issues. I emailed Kerry, asking him to call me. No reply. I sent another email, and he asked me to write down all the details instead. When I asked if we could talk over the phone, he stopped replying. I even said it was a lot to write up, it's much easier to discuss in person but again like all other management he just ignored the request. So here's my advice: steer clear of Jim Thompson Chrysler and Carloft. They tell you what you want to hear and then treat you like trash after you pay them. 5 star reviews aren't what matters, it's when there are issues, how do the handle them? So sort by low reviews and look at their replies....scroll through and you will see, we don't have your name, this isn't what happened etc. Hope this saves someone some money, time and frustration.

UPDATE!! Jim Thompson Chrysler has provided me with a full refund. They admitted that a warranty claim was never submitted to the actual warranty company but decided in house that they didn’t “think” it would cover it so decided not to bother. Anyone else who has recently needed warranty work done and been informed that the warranty would NOT cover the claim I would be asking for proof. Documentation showing this and not them deciding on their own. The vehicle is repaired and a good job was done in that sense. However a lot of lying and deceiving me took place prior to finding any solution. Again ask for documentation and proof. It’s your warranty company and you pay for it. This is your right! Please share and help spread the word. Anyone looking for any kind of vehicle service or repair DO NOT take your vehicle to Jim Thompson Chrysler!!! We recently purchased a 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe from Carloft Kingston and when buying added over 100,000km of bumper to bumper warranty. We were experiencing a loud noise in the rear end of the car. (Lateral Link was broke) so we contacted our sales rep and asked where we should take the vehicle for repair and to use warranty. We were advised Jim Thompson Chrysler was the place to go. After checking our vehicle out they concluded that because the vehicle was in an accident (surface scratches. Not even a dent) the warranty would not cover repairs. My wife was contacted and told the repairs would cost over 1000$ out of pocket. Devastated she called me to tell me the bad news. I then contacted the dealer to find out what needed to be fixed. After being informed it was the lateral link it seemed very expensive. I reached out to several dealerships to ask what replacing that part pays for the job. It was between .5-.9 of an hour. Jim Thompson told me due to the severity of the damage they added extra time for difficulties removing bent bolts! (Quoted at 2.5 hrs) annoyed and feeling ripped off I expressed that I thought this was unfair. I was told they would take the vehicle off the lift and we could pick it up (of course this is after the vehicle was deemed unsafe for the road). Knowing a tow would add an additional cost I chose to have it repaired but requested ALL broken parts including the link and any damaged bolts be saved for my own inspection. Of course BENT BOLTS was the reason they tripled the time of repair.… long story short I picked the vehicle up received over a 1200$ bill for 1 rear lateral link and an alignment. The broken link was left in the vehicle but NO bent bolts or any evidence as to why this repair was more difficult then usual. NEVER WOULD I RECOMMEND GOING HERE!! I ONLY CHOSE 1 star because there is no less option I’m sure anyone who has a little knowledge on vehicles knows a lateral link does not require 2.5 hrs to repair. Jim Thompson Chrysler and Dodge are the biggest rip offs going!!! Go ANYWHERE else!

By far worst experience I have ever had at a dealership. Do not recommend this place to anyone. Originally made an appointment due to a brake I had sticking. Was in the Kingston area so made an appointment, worst decision. The most they had to do was release the rear caliper, grease the pins and reset the brakes. Not what happened. They took my vehicle in. Without even disassembling the mechanic brought me into the shop and moved the tire. It spun with some resistance. He then proceeded to point at the rotors that had little surface rust on them and said I needed all new pads and rotors on my rears. My vehicle only has 35,000 kms on it and is not very old. After some back and forth with them, they basically held my vehicle hostage saying I needed to get new brakes. I was on my own and had no support. They also made me do a brake flush cause he said it would have heated up the fluid. The most he should have done was bleed the lines a little. Ever since then my steering on the vehicle has been stiff. They should not have been anywhere near the steering fluid. I later check and they had lowered the steering fluid from the factory level down to just below the minimal level. Steering is a bit better now but still not back to normal, still diagnosing. When the mechanic took the vehicle for a test drive after all that work, I was watching him leave and come back and was very upset with how fast and aggressive he was driving my vehicle. Separate from when he did the break in procedure. $1,200 later I wish I never set foot into this location. Couldn't be more unhappy, extremely upset. Typical dealer scamming for money.

I have moved my rating from a 2 to a 4 based on my purchase of a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee WL74 Overland. They handled my purchase perfectly. ********* I bought my new Jeep Grand Cherokee from Thompson Kingston and am very happy with the purchase. One of the reasons I liked Thompson is that they assured me that the Service Department has very good on-time record....because I come from Brockville to Kingston (75 km), I always want to be booked first thing in the morning so that I don't have to gamble on when my vehicle will be brought in for servicing. Today, I was booked in for a simple tire change and oil change for 8 am. I arrived at 7:50 am and indicated that I will be in the waiting room. I have a tracker in my vehicle so I know when it moves and I received a notice that the vehicle entered the service bay at 8:47 am...a full 47 minutes from when I was scheduled. When I approached the Service Advisor (in a nice way) after the work was completed, she stated that it was because some of the mechanics were booked off sick that day. I don't know if it is true or not but I can say I have received that excuse from every business since covid began 2-3 years ago. As a note, I received this same excuse from my local dealership when they kept my car all day without servicing it. I plan to go to my local dealership as it is far closer to ultimately be disappointed. Service Departments please let your customer know when there are delays to allow us to reschedule if we so wish.

Sent car in again to get a part which keeps breaking fixed for the 6th time. Known issue with the part yet dealership or manufacturer will not do anything to report the quality control issue. Parts listed online from supplier Mopar cheaper than what the parts are on the invoice, and Parts department could not give me any explanation as to why, including saying I have a shipping charge, a warranty charge included with that price. Asked for a breakdown of those charges and was told I can't have them, may be the service manager can get them. Showed the parts desk the difference in price if I were to order the parts myself from Mopar was told "sometimes you pay less, sometimes it's more. We have to charge these prices." No one was able to answer my questions at all, and as a customer it looks like price gouging. May change my review if the Manager is able to explain the huge price difference, if not makes me never want to buy from this company again. Also on the invoice it states we will get a survey to fill out, from Stellantis, and if we can't answer completely satisfied, to call them first so they could assist. They could not assist me with my inquiries.

Traded my van in last August as for the 3rd time in one year it had air conditioning issues and was now going to cost me $6k to fix. They told me the only vehicle they they had for a van or SUV (I wanted a 7 seater) at the time was one they had used as a rental but was in good shape. We bought it and they sold me the extended warranty on it as I had such a fear after my issues with my trade in. Pick up the vehicle and the right window switch is broken. Brought it in and they fixed it. Beginning of this summer the blower in the AC had to be replaced. This was covered thankfully. Got it back from them and the air bag light is on. They get me in 3 weeks later. $169 later they tell me there was a code but they cleared it and it didn't come back on. If it comes back I'll have to replace the passenger front buckle. NOW it's a 50/50 chance of my cruise control working. I haven't even had the vehicle a full year. I'm so upset. Never again wish I had never bought it. Feel taken advantage of due to my situation when my other vehicle needed repairs.

When my wife's car bit the dust, we were on the hunt fairly quickly for a new (used) car. We did our research online and found a couple of cars that we liked at Jim Thompson Chrysler. We made an appointment with Nick Jensen and I'm glad he was who helped us through the buying experience. Nick was friendly, and understanding of our situation, and knew all about the features and specs of the cars that we wanted to look at. He never made us feel pressured. He was honest throughout the process and made things as smooth as possible. I also will say that after everything was finalized I noticed their incentive for Frontline workers, and inquired about it. The manager actually threw in 2 oil changes on top of deals we were already getting which I thought was a nice touch. I believe Jim Thompson Chrysler went above and beyond when dealing with us. The process was clear and the staff were very nice to deal with. I will definitely buy from them again, and will highly recommend them to anyone looking for a new or used car.

We took a drive to Kingston on a whim that the vehicle I was looking at online was still on the lot, but it had sold the day before. When I sat down with Chris I was just expecting to start the process, and then wait patiently for a phone call that he had found my next vehicle. Not once did I think I would be walking away with A spectacular deal not only on my trade in, but also on my new to me vehicle. I purchased a 2022 Chrysler Pacifica S, which, by the way, never in a million years thought I would ever own, let alone drive, a van. But let me tell you, once I sat in, drove and looked it over top to bottom, I knew it was the absolute perfect fit for my family. Extremely impressed with the entire team at Jim Thompson. When our van started having issues the team stepped up and took care of us. They made sure we had a safe vehicle to get our baby to and from doctors appointments and didn’t rest until they figured out what was wrong. The service team treated our vehicle like it was their own. They made sure that we didn’t get it back until it was at top working order and ensured it was resolved. Between the team answering the phones, the service crew, the leadership of the dealers right down to the drivers everyone was wonderful to deal with, very understanding and excellent at their jobs. On the plus size it was easy to make an appointment, and the service staff were friendly. On the negative, I ended up having to go back to get them to fix an issue. My car was in for its first scheduled maintenance (only 11,000 KMs on the car). Later that day when I got the car home I noticed oil dripping onto the garage floor. I took the car back a few days later. The oil leaking was apparently due to a messy oil change which was not cleaned before giving the car back to me. In the end, the underside of the car was cleaned up and the service people were (again) fairly friendly, but didn't go as far as apologizing. As this was my first visit I will give them the benefit of the doubt.

After some great communication back and forth we met and took a new truck to drive that I was interested in. I was sold on that truck. Very disappointed with their service. Took vehicle in to have battery replaced and was charged $850. $550 for 3 hours labour, which only took them 1.5 hours but because of their flat rate pricing guess the extra charge was their gain. To add insult to injury they charged me a $140 diagnosis fee on top of the work to replace the battery (which most places waive if you get the work done). Long time customer, always expected a bit higher price for manufacturer parts, but $850 to change a battery is way too much. I am beyond disappointed and will take my business elsewhere (Kristan Miller).

Crooks...now they are blocking me from telling the truth about their terrible service. Run away from these crooks. I would give them a zero but it wont go that low. Screwed up my car during and engine swap and wont do anything but lie to avoid responsibility. Service manager and advisor are a joke. Even my last google review is gone!!
