I am very disappointed with the service here recently because my family regularly come here to purchase beauty and electrictrical products and because of the excellent customer services we receive we always come back here and are loyal customers normally and enjoy our shopping experience and our young children love coming here with all the festive displays etc.. but unfortunately this wasn't the case on this recent visit . Around a month ago I bought my mother who is elderly to purchase a fan, and it's very difficult for my mother to get around now because of her age (she's 76) it's not easy she needs sit-down often so when we went to view the fans we was waiting very patiently for a staff member to see to us and we could see he was talking to a customer very near to us so we waited patiently and he did see us but not once did he turn around to say he would be with us shortly, he didn't even acknowledge our existence! We were standing over a good 20 minutes and bless my mother tried to get his attention to see how long he would be but he was blatantly rude! My mothers legs get very weak and she was standing a very long time. When the man finally came to us he wasn't friendly at all and kept it very short and sweet and to my observation the other lady he served he was very friendly and polite and smiled and giggled with her and gave his full attention to her but when he approached my family he was miserable and couldn't even crack a smile! we felt he rushed us and was eager to go , this service is very unexpected from John Lewis and i did report this because i really felt so bad for my mother and we left the store that day very upset and shocked with how we was treated. I am so disgusted and disappointed and to this day I don't know why we was treated like that , my mum bless her said is it because we are Asian but I can't say why we were treated like this but im sure John Lewis have a policy of treating of All customers equally as it's a big company. It's a shame it came to me putting this review here but I hope no One who ever they are due to their religion, ethnic background, culture or gender to feel the way we did that day at John Lewis!
My husband and I booked two 90min sessions with nursery advisor, Jenny, as we are preparing for our first baby. We were really impressed with how Jenny was able to guide us through a range of prams, making recommendations based on our needs and budget and being patient with us as we tried to open and close each one. Our second appointment was focused on car seats and again she showed really good knowledge of what was available, and also highlighted safety at every stage. I returned on my own a few weeks later to ask Jenny to help me confirm that the car seat model we chose will fit our car. Her colleague Lorraine joined us in the car park, and together they did an excellent job helping me through this. My husband and I started out feeling overwhelmed by how much we need to learn about prams, car seats etc but Jenny (and later Lorraine too) really helped break it down for us and we’re really grateful for that!
Buying because of 2 years warranty on your electronic items, think again!!! They will sent your iPhone for 28 days for repair without a loaner. Who has two phones? And how would you dial 999 or call road side assistance if broken down on country lanes. Guess what!!! it’s not JLP’s fault. Buy from Manufacturer direct or go to company like Costco where after sales service is top notch. Apple gives you loaner when they sent your phone away for 7 days. FITBIT replaced my unit after it broken down just after 2 years which was obviously refused by JL. 23.07.2023 - Hot drinks quality and customer service is no where near any other cafe around leicester - TCC, Saint of Mocha, cafe Nero, costa or even star buck but price is surely to match them. Why would they improve? No incentive really… Stay Away
It is a large store located at the Highcross shopping center in Leicester There are many products for the home, such a forniture and furnishing; from toys to electronics and ,course, household appliances of all kinds could not be missing. Surely the customer is spoiled for choice, but unfortunately not in the price, which in my opinion is expensive. Now that we are close to Christmas, the shop has been euriched which decorations and sparkling lights to make it and almost magical place for the visitor;all products for sale are displayed with care and elegance. It is important to point out that this shop has a large parking lot that is always open;while on the upper floor there is a bar, where you can enjoy a good coffee. Although prices are expensive, I highly recommend going to visit.
Absolutely brilliant. I was upset because one of my Jabra elite earphones stopped working. I spoke to someone called Steve who was super nice and was sorting it out but we got cut off. So I rang back with the given ref' no. and spoke to a lovely guy called Samuel. He said they'd have to refund and then charge etc. I said can you make this really simple as an exchange? He said give me a moment. He came back and said all done - I can drop off my old earphones in store and pick up the new ones tomorrow. They even let me off the extra tenner I would have had to pay as they had stopped doing the earphones I had. So, all I'd like to say is thank you Mr Lewis. Good staff. Moreover, you just got my loyalty and business for a tenner. Well done!
Holly at the luggage department was absolutely FANTASTIC today. I really hope she gets a promotion.. the level of effort and time she took to go through everything with me meant so much to me. I was really struggling to get the right case for my autistic daughter's needs... As a result I purchased a luggage case more expensive than originally planned and have a very happy little 7 year old and yes Holly if you ever read this review all of my daughter's stuffed cats fit in. Holly is an absolutely beautiful soul, her dedication stood out above all.. wishing you health and hopefully a career progression you certainly are the reason why I will be shopping at John Lewis again Thank you so much
I am utterly shocked at the customer service I have received from John Lewis. They failed to deliver my package to me and then treated me like a criminal when I tried to contact them. I received a notification that my parcel was successfully left ‘outside my door’ when no one was home. When I got back there was no package to be seen. I got in touch with the team, and instead of feeling like a valued customer I was left feeling hopeless. I was told to contact citizens advice Buereu or my bank if I was disputing that the parcel was delivered! We work hard to save our money and spend it with a trusted brand like John Lewis. However I would trust them again.
I bought a lip scrub from Dior on the 21st of November and I felt really judged by the employees there. It was a really poor service. There was no bag (which in my opinion, if I’m buying from a luxury brand, they should be able to give a special treatment) and they sold me a package really damaged. The worst part is when I’m buying and the employees don’t make you feel welcome. Made me feel uncomfortable. It made me feel like I was bothering them, because the lady was with an annoyed look on her face. It would be nice, when purchasing from these brands, to have a nice experience. I won’t come back to Dior in John Lewis Leicester after this experience.
Always great customer service and good selection of products. On last visit though I was very disappointed by changes to the haberdashery department. it's really hard to find good haberdashery now so John Lewis was a safe bet, particularly if you needed something on a Sunday when a lot of independent shops are closed. On my last visit however over half the area has been turned into a 'clearance room' with a hotchpotch of random things all crammed in at reduced prices, very odd and diminished the area greatly. Also super surprising that they didn't have any Christmas craft supplies in yet. Please don't destroy this department JL!
This sad offering cost me over ten pounds, more fool me I bought one for me and one for the wife. Not to mention the £2,75p children's toastie which was one slice of bread with cheese and ham. I can highly recommend avoiding the cafe for lunch. Not sure what the cakes are like but the drinks weren't upto much either. £30 and I've never been so disappointed. Just goes to show John Lewis doesn't always mean quality. The staff in the serving area were a whirlwind of disorganisation too. Maybe they were just having an off day! The fish and chips tasted of grease and nothing more.
I visited the store on 4/1/2023 accompanied by my daughter, to purchase a 15 in 1 ninja pot as a gift for my husband. I was lucky enough to purchase the last one available but was really disappointed by the customer service I received that afternoon. The sales staff were very pushy, but more than that, the lady behind the counter proceeded to tell me off about returning used goods when I asked about the returns policy, something which I would never do. I suggest that more customer service training is implemented as soon as possible.
We were served by Santana at the perfumery today & we have to say how amazing he was. Customer service- 10/10, knowledge on perfumes- 10/10, upselling 10/10! Not many stores I can enter to list perfumes already in my cupboard and for someone to recommend new ones along similar lines! It was so refreshing to see someone passionate about their role. His energy was immaculate & surely deserves a promotion/raise/bonus! Well done Santana, you really did make a difference to our shopping experience today x
The young team in the Electricals dept were fantastic. We decided to purchase a flat screen TV. The item was on sale so there were complications with storage delivery etc. The entire team including customer service members were excellent. They worked together as a team to solve each problem. And what is more surprising is that some of the team only work part time. If you are either John Lewis management or their overall manager, this team should be highly commended. Very impressed!
A great experience at the Highcross Store on Saturday! My fiance and I went to the fabric section to find fabric by the roll for chair sashes and the service was brilliant. Stefan was friendly and his product knowledge was incredible. He guided us through measurements, fabric properties and also gave us advice on the best tools for cutting a particular fabric. If the company offers bonuses for great employee reviews, I'd really like for Stefan to receive something. He deserves it.
We have recently bought some furniture from the Leicester store. Whilst we did have a few niggly problems with the John Lewis phone service (sadly appears to have been moved out of the UK), I have to say that the staff in the store furniture department were absolutely amazing. They spent quite some time looking for a specific table that we wanted (and was somewhere in store) and then sorted out our complete order and nothing seemed too much trouble for them ….
No bicycle parking at the entrance. You need to leave your bike 50 meters away. Come on, this is the 21st century, cycle parking is a must. When you enter, you can't see where the 'click & collect' till is, you need to guess, or ask someone. Ground floor: pungent smell of perfumes. I literally got headache due to the intense smell but fortunately, I'm not allergic. On the positive side: quality products, clean & tidy environment. Not many chavs around.
My review is of the over priced stuck up restaurant. It's John Lewis, with John Lewis prices yet if you order tea don't expect proper milk like you get anywhere else in Leicester including greasy spoons and burger vans, no just like at McDonald's you get crappy plastic UHT milk cartoons to fiddle and open. Next to the dry over priced cakes, well they are dry and over priced. I can't tell you how bad this place is and just reading on its name.
A giant store, almost a full shopping centre all in itself. It has many levels with various departments, from clothes, to furniture, to electronics and more. The great thing about this one is the location, right in the centre of town, attached to the Highcross Shopping Centre. A great positive is that this store pretty much has its own parking. You can walk straight from the car park into the store, or carry on into the square.
Excellent place for shopping for electrical goods/ clothing items: footwear and gifts such as sunglasses and perfume and designer label brands much variety and choice available in store for customers who need appliances or clothes it’s a great shop that offers incredible value and nice selection and service to all customers who request help it’s amazingly affordable and easy to pay to at a pay point.
Went to John Lewis today and bought a Barbour jacket then decided to have a cup of tea in the top floor restaurant. They have made it self-service now for the cakes and pastries which I don’t think was a good idea, dirty cake slices left all over the counter plus all of the tables had dirty trays left on them. Standards are definitely slipping a bit at John Lewis.
Visited yesterday. This store has got its customer service to perfection. Every member of staff we either passed or were approached by was friendly, happy to help and knowledgeable. I thought that customer service was a thing of the past but clearly not. Store had stunning Christmas displays! Well done John Lewis Leicester and Thank you for your warm greeting!
Spacious store, well presented. Popped into the cafe for a drink and ended up having lunch. Good choice of toasties or hot food and a nice selection of cake. My friend had to order her decaf coffee on the middle station and collect it from the back station so maybe they could have decaf options on all stations. Other than that it was a good experience.
An enjoyable shopping experience, BUT Oh the cafe. For our last few visits the advertised menu is almost completely unavailable. The excuse given has been consistently ‘ We are waiting for a delivery’. Rubbish! If you can’t provide the menu properly give it up and franchise the facility. This non facility is letting the whole store down.
After a less than ideal experience with online ordering & subsequent visit to the Leicester store, Andrew & his team there were able to provide a swift solution. Very friendly & able to deliver an expedited resolution where the online Customer Service fell way short of the mark. Thanks guys …
We had great asperations entering John Lewis, Leicester, for breakfast. I ordered two full breakfasts from the restaurant. It certainly looked good, but the food was almost cold. The bacon was rock hard. Everything else was tepid. We didn't complain. With hindsight I should have taken it back.
Staff are utterly stuck up and rude. They act like they are above everyone else!?!?! Very in your face. The staff downstairs need to be reconsidered. John Lewis itself is a marvellous store. Love shopping here! Especially for Christmas. But the staff are ruining the experience?!?!?
Amazing deals and they now have an own brand named "anyday". Much more affordable. Can find everything under one roof. The app allows you to save your receipts which helps with electrical and returns. The cafe is very nice. Good for uni students to have a coffee and do work.
John Lewis is a lovely place to shop they have some beautiful things in there and always top quality. I bought a television that comes with a 5 year warranty as standard you don't get that in many shops . There's always something for everyone there. Highly recommended.
Many types of product and good place to visit. There are many sections such as kitchenware, electronics, clothing, make-up products. It is possible to find various famous brands. There are prices in various ranges. Generally, it can be said to be not student friendly.
My Mum has difficulty walking, and lots of places are not wheelchair friendly or make her feel uncomfortable. The team at John Lewis Cafe were really helpful, kind and positive which made this a great experience. Thank you to the team who were working on 17Jul2022.
What a shambles the coffee shop is the system is dreadful Paying at one point then standing queuing at the next point to be asked what you ordered !!! Really I could have added afew more drinks on Come on Get it right Wasn't even that busy so no excuse Sort it out
Was served by a lovely woman named Mahsa on the Origins counter and her customer service skills was 10/10. She was so helpful and so kind and the way she listened and cared for me as a customer is something we rarely see nowadays, she deserves a lot of praise!!!
I bought a Maxi Cosi car seat from John Lewis Leicester last year. Whilst the service was good when I purchased the car seat, a year later one of the seat belt straps and come off and the sun visor is broken. This is a Maxi Cosi issue but I
Most of the store is just as you'd expect but this review is to reflect our experience of the cafe. Firstly it was confusing trying to figure out where to go to get a coffee with no clear signs of which way to go. Half the staff didn't seem
Easy to get to, huge car park, which is now a pay by card system. Cross the bridge or walk up the ramp from Highcross, and you enter a huge, light, airy shop, spread over 4 floors. Haberdashery (you don't see that very often these days)! A
I had a really positive experience. I was hesitant which product to buy as a gift for my anniversary. A staff named Mahsa from Aveda and origins helped me. She designed a wonderful gift box which made my wife really happy . Good job! …
I don't usually write reviews like this as I don't think it's good to dwell on the few poor staff when there are many that are helpful. However, I was at the Dior counter and was wanting some help to match my foundation shade and asked to
Disappointed that the cafe no longer have a container to takeaway a piece of cake. Only option is to use serviette- not ideal. Also, it's a shame that scones get very over cooked. Thankfully I had a voucher for 2 free hot drinks and cakes.
This store is excellent. Set in easy proximity to the city centre and with bus stops adjacent it is easily accessible. With lifts and toilets on numerous floors it is accessible to wheelchair occupants and people with impaired mobility.
Very good department store with easy car parking. Christmas displays look great. We had a very nice lunch in the restaurant. Architecturally looks good. Very conveniently situated at the end of the Highcross Centre near the cinema etc
I was the beauty and perfume section.. when I came across. ORIGINS. .. A lady called Mahsa was amazing.. superb customer service skills.. MANAGED TO GET AN EXCELLENT GIFT SET FOR MY LOVED ONE. many thanks …
The queer man sold me the Bobbi brown face base and my god. I can’t do my makeup without it he did not lie !!!! My makeup comes out so flawless and I always get compliments;) thank you so much love
Always clean, plenty of Covid-19 notice, hand sanitiser everywhere. Always find what you need. Always happy with their products and services. Plenty of staffs to help you around when you need.
Went to John Lewis after poor service at the apple shop. Mukesh was great in the tech area quick polite and kind. All sorted in 10 mins. Really could tell the difference in service at JL
As this shop is very expensive, I don't come here often, but sometimes I come here for chocolates, gifts and electronics. There is a good range and just browsing this huge shop is fun.
This place used to be like a mid tier place you go to for semi designer gear, a bit like a budget selfridges, you can pick up some nice stuff but its hardly Harrods.
John Lewis is always golden. Stores are well set out and staff actually want to help. The bathrooms are also way better than those in the highcross
You can see the quality of breakfast they are serving at JL Leicester Even after complaining, they just passing mr from one to another place
Love shopping at John Lewis. My all day destination. Shop eat meet up minded people Looking for quality experience and great staff to help.
One of the best shops in Leicester. Quality promise and great customer service. Recommended for a great shopping experience ️ …
Great environment, the parking lot is large and the roads are friendly, which makes it very convenient for us with children.

We bought a bed, not pushy in the slightest - Mandy and team at the Leicester store were amazing.
