Decided to take a quick trip to Nashville to do some photography with my new camera. I had been there before but my skills were not up to my present level. It was recommended via the Internet to go to this bridge and take shots from there. So these are the shots I got on a very great morning for photography where the sky was pure blue and the sun was out but not too strong and the temperature is comfortable. The bridge actually connects downtown Nashville to the Nissan football stadium on the other side of the river. It is strictly for pedestrians. There is Nissan Stadium parking which gives you quick access to the bridge which is free if there are no Stadium activities. However one parking lot is restricted and you will be towed away unless you have one of those Stadium passes. For those who may have walking difficulty there is an elevator from the parking lot that will take you up to the top of the roadbed of the bridge. this bridge as you can tell from my photograph gives you a quick and clear advantage point to photographing and viewing downtown Nashville as well as the stadium which is on the right side behind me.
Got an evening to kill in Nashville? Could use a walk? Want to feel some cool breeze in your hair? Well, this is the place for you. Just when the hustle and bustle of Nashville begins to wane into the distance and the lights fade, you come upon this historic bridge. Walk across it. There's no traffic. By the time you get to the middle of the bridge, its pretty peaceful and windy. So stand back and watch the Cumberland go. Every now and then, a ferry will go past. Some with music and dance. And as you follow the boat, you will yet gaze upon the city of Nashville - tall, proud and gorgeous.
The view is cool but devoid of attractions and services on the bridge and on either end of the bridge. Entrance elevators seem decommissioned (for public use at least) and walkways/stairs are piss filled and littered with a struggling homeless population lurking in the shadows. It is on the way to being the next downtown boulder. Jehovah's Witnesses out there handing out literature (the don't believe in voting and they're swarming poor areas). This and most of the rest of downtown Nashville is just gross. Crowded, inhospitable and gross.
This was a cool little walk across the river. I didn't intend to walk the bridge when I went downtown, but decided to on a lark. The start of the walk can be steep if you come up from the road, but there are some stairs and an elevator that starts you a little further up the bridge. There are some awesome views of the river and Nashville skyline from the middle of the bridge. Its is probably not something I will do every time I am in downtown, but if I am just wandering around, I am sure I will find myself walking it.
This is a nice bridge with great views of the city. It has a bit of an elevation in case you have trouble walking, but there are elevators at both ends for anyone to enjoy the view. The elevator closest to the city was nasty though. The floor was soaked with urine and it smelled horrific. There was no rain the whole week we were there. It was definitely urine. I wanted to gag. If it wasn't for that, I would have given it 5 stars. There are bikes and scooters you can rent there, as like everywhere around the city.
This is a great pedestrian Bride to cross over the river to give a beautiful view of the city. It also has a parallel bride which can be used to complete the loop by walk which might take about 30mins. While on top of this bridge you can see the Nissan Stadium's big screen, which would be cool if it happened to host any event on the day of your visit. I have seen several people using Bird electrical bikes on this bridge, and one of its ends connects to Broadway.
It’s a bridge for pedestrians. Great views, excellent means to get from Nissan Stadium to Broadway but the stench of feces and urine when you get to the garbage strewn homeless camp is gut wrenching. The elevator has poo and urine in it. Here’s the breakdown: Great idea and views +5 stars; stink of feces and urine (in 60 degree temps - I cannot imagine the odor when it’s 90 degrees) -2 stars. Please Nashville - don’t become San Francisco or L.A.
I know it’s a bridge but you gotta take the time to see the views especially at night. Wow and I got a barge pic too. Posters of Indy car drivers adorn the bridge presumably from the Bridgestone Co being a block away Lol. Kinda makes sense…bridge…? Anyway you will be surprised at how peaceful it is next to the concert at the amphitheater and the bars on Broadway. It’s well lit and police patrolled.
A fantastic view of downtown Nashville! EPIC sunsets! And the perfect place to spend on a date with your special someone. Every time we visit Nashville, walking the bridge is on our bucket list. There are always lots of people and plenty to see. If you're visiting Nashville, this is absolutely a great spot! Perfect for couples getting engaged or just wanting romance for the evening.
Wonderful pedestrian bridge connecting downtown Nashville to the Nissan Stadium area. Plenty of free parking near the stadium when there isn't a game or event. I'd suggest this as a starting place for exploring the city on foot, getting spectacular views, and there are even a few parks nearby for the kids. You can even enjoy the occasional concert playing at the amphitheater!
The bridge is showing it's age and lack of maintenance. The bridge could be a lot better with some cosmetic repairs, some kind of shade structure (it's hot up there in the day time) and some river bank clean up. Currently the river banks are overgrown and littered with trash from homeless encampments and city litter. It's a shame that the sights from the bridge kinda suck.
As foot bridges go, it was beautiful. Good use to some tax dollars if I might say so myself. Strangely enough, there were elevators on either side, which was an interesting use of those tax dollars… being that it is quite literally two gigantic oppositely slanted ramps side by side. ~shrug~ From my experience, it is, in fact, open 24 hours, so that was nice.
Great pedestrian bridge...good for scooters and bikes also. This bridge leads to two bike rental areas to ride around town and on the east end leads to Shelbyville park which is a great day getaway and specific dates you can ride the east side to the Cumberland bridge and cool off at the water park over that bridge not far from Grand ole Opry.
What an amazing location for an elopement wedding. As a Nashville wedding officiant I've had the honor of officiating many beautiful elopements on this gorgeous bridge and my couples - many who travel from out of state LOVE it. It's great for pics and so many times the couple receives applause from others on the bridge which is so much fun.
Definitely recommend taking like 30 minutes to walk across the bridge and back during a trip to Nashville to take in the sunshine and the beautiful Nashville city sky line. The view of the high rises is really beautiful and it’s a great spot for photos. I’ve heard it’s awesome at sunset so we will have to check that out next time!
One of my favorite pedestrian bridges! I really enjoy the city view from it as it allows you to connect from the stadium to downtown or vice versa with ease! I always come here when visiting the city with one of the best views from the middle of the bridge! It’s definitely a must do if you plan on visiting Nashville!
A must visit place in Nashville. the bridge itself is pretty at night and you can hear the sound coming from the bar on the other side of the river. the only issue is parking. I think they close many parking lot when it’s not a game day so you might have to find a street park and walk a little bit to go there
It's a nice bridge, for pedestrians only. There are some great views from up there. I saw steps and an elevator near the beginning of the bridge, but I just walked up using the sidewalk. There are little extensions coming off the side of the bridge, where you can sit on a bench, take photos, or do whatever.
Loved the bridge, it was the perfect opportunity to take some pictures! But be ready to practically DIE walking across. Lol it is NOT for the thick and fluffy. Thank goodness for the seats at the top, a girl needed a reason to take a breather. Not too safe after dark, make sure to be with a group. :)
The bridge itself was pretty cool and provides some great picture taking opportunities. However, I was completely shocked by all the drug users, bums, and homeless people in the area. It was a little unsettling and I'm glad I wasn't there at night time. Nashville needs to clean this area up.
Are you on one side of the river and wish you were on the other side? Try bridges today! This one is very nice, especially if you aren't in a car. I walked across this bridge six times in a weekend one time and every time it took me from one side of the river to the other. Highly recommend.
The views from this bridge are awesome. It's a great way to get some steps in for the pedometer too. One of the best photo ops in Nashville is when you're standing on the bridge looking towards the AT&T building. It's also cool when the General Jackson steamboat goes underneath the bridge.
Wish I would have known about the parking lot before emptying my wallet at other parking lots. Parked there twice now, once during the day and once at night and as far as I can tell, you don’t pay to park there. It’s a 5-10 min walk to broadway from there. At nights it’s an excellent view
Awesome walkways across the river for pedestrians and bikers. The perfect way to get to and from downtown from across the river. This bridge has fantastic views of the city and a few benches to sit and relax. It also looks like a great place to run if you're looking to excercise.
I went to Nashville for 12hrs and had a blast. Crossed this beautiful bridge to downtown Nashville and I absolutely enjoyed it and had fun! Take a nice little walk in the night and cross the bridge to see how beautiful the sky line is on this bridge. Highly recommend it.
In my opinion, this is the #1 place to visit in Nashville as it offers panoramic view of downtown. There are several view points on the bridge with a small number of people. If you are driving, expect parking issues. I had to park 20 minutes away from the bridge.
I loved the pedestrian bridge...the bridge sits over the river with 360 degrees of beautiful scenery of downtown Nashville,Nissan stadium..very easy access with paid parking lots below bridge..best time is evening's so your able to see the lights from downtown..
Amazing bridge with awesome views! It has certain places for lookouts too so you can see the city skyline with the river as well. Amazing views! Luckily we came on the day there was the grand prix and even saw portions of it from the bridge. Worth visiting!
Very cool spot to look back on Louisville and see what a pretty and unique city it really is. The bridge is wide with plenty of room to walk and take pictures. Even at night it felt safe and was clean. Good spot to work off some food and drinks.
Great views of the city and I bet night time looks wonderful too. Elevators can take you up past the steep part if needed. We parked at the stadium (but not at the lot directly to the left of the bridge-it was closed for a film production crew.
Currently open on one side only. Crews are spending two weeks putting up scaffolding. Then another week to paint a gas pipeline under the bridge. The side facing downtown Nashville is open with no obstruction for walking or taking pictures.
If you're on Broadway in Nashville. Add a few steps and take a walk up the John Seigenthaler Bridge. Well maintained and cleaned with a nice view of the water and the Nissan stadium. Of course at night, seeing the city lights is cool too.
Amazing views of Nashville from this bridge! Cool, artistic enhancements at various spots make it a lot of fun walking to & from downtown to the stadium. Also, with out it, you would have to swim across the Cumberland River. Not fun.
Must visit location, so pretty during sunsets. Overlooks the downtown and river, football stadium and open air convert halls. U can park at the stadium parking for 5$ usually. Huge spot for photography, and getting family portraits.
Beautiful bridge over the Cumberland River to Nissan Stadium. The bridge is a work of art, gorgeous and practical. Elevators available at ends for those who might need them. And if you are a Geocacher, you’ll be happy too! …
Bridge with spectacular view in Nashville downtown. We can see the beauty of Nashville from the bridge. Visiting the bridge at night is the best as we can see beautiful Nashville night life. Escalator facility is also available.
Perfect spot to stroll for a date. Wear comfy shoes! It’s very scenic and the views of the city were beautiful. We visited late and were surprised to see the amount of people there with their families. It seems pretty safe.
One of my favorite places to go to when I’m in Nashville. Good little escape from the chaos of the bars for a while. Great view of the stadium. Elevator vandalized and homeless sleeping on the benches which is sad to see.
Beautiful place especially at night, music can be heard from the bars and restaurants downtown Nashville, lovely place spectacular views , parking available right down the bridge, elevator is available as well as stairs
We only walked the sidewalk up the hill to where the bridge started since we had to get to the airport. It's a very nice bridge with a great view of the Cumberland River, Tennessee Titans stadium and Nashville skyline.
Perfect spot to take a picture of downtown Nashville skyline. If you find a parking space on the side of Nissan Stadium, it is free. The elevator is broken and not operating, but the bridge is not high. An easy walk.
Great bridge to get from Nashville to Nissan Stadium. Was kinda surprised they don't do something different with the lighting rather than just white lights. Be careful of your footing though, hot chicks everywhere.
Tremendous view of the city. A must-go place in Nashville. Besides, very close to the heart of the music city so that the weekend atmosphere was quite bustling and easy to feel even when standing on the bridge.
Good view of city, and the driving bridge that lights up. If you park on the east side of the river and walk over it’s great access to broadway. And right by titans arena. Good view for pictures of that too
Really great place for and evening/sunset walk. Felt very safe and well lit, quite a few pedestrians even around 8pm on weekday. Also being a pedestrian bridge just shows what a walkable city Nashville is.
Grabbed a coffee and took a walk on the bridge. Great view of the Nashville skyline which has some cool buildings. Added bonus- talented singer busking, adding even more beauty to this experience…
Great view of the city! We went at night time and there were barely any people there, it was amazing seeing all the lights. I definitely recommend stopping by if you’re ever visiting Nashville.
Prettiest views in the city!!! The walk was nice, not too long, and lots of amazing views and photo ops. I wish we had visited at night for the lights, but maybe next time. New favorite place.
This bridge is simply stunning specially during the evenings around sunset. You can park next to the stadium and walk all the way to Broadway experiencing the stunning views of the city .
Great views of the city from the bridge. Parking is available in lot R of the Nissan stadium. It is free if there is no game at the stadium that day (even if the sign says permit only).
Supercool large pedi bridge, providing access to the Nissan stadium, parks on the other side of the Cumberland River from historic downtown. Amazing views of the Nashville skyline.
I walked the bridge as part of my NFL draft experience in Nashville. I truly enjoyed my time in Nashville for the 2019 draft. It was definitely worth it and one helluva good time!
Definitely try to visit during the sunrise period. You won't be disappointed. It might be worth the walk if you park near passenger loading zone (okay to park before 7AM). …
After leaving an Awesome tailgate party at Nissan Field we strolled over the bridge. Still listening to the live game. Magical colors this time of year. Nashville was MAGICAL!!
Clean and safe , walked it at night and day . The parks at either end of the bridge are great just to walk and explore , the views from the bridge are picturesque. Great time
Great views of the city of Nashville and where the Titans play and the General Jackson's city dock. Went during the day. Need to go back at night. Yay for free parking.
Nice bridge to view downtown and the site was beautiful however the stairs had trash all over them. Great place for pictures when in Nashville. Felt safe and well lit.
Beautiful!! Well maintained pedestrian walking bridge. I especially like the ledges are not tall and you can see the Cumberland River below. My kids really loved it.
Definitely a good bridge to stop at and take some pictures of Nashville. It has great views of the city from both sides. From the downtown area to the Nissan stadium.
Beautiful view. Connects Nisan stadium area with downtown Nashville-Broadway area. Easy and enjoyable walk up and down the bridge. Place suitable for photographs.
Great view of the city from the bridge, during the day is nice but especially at night when you can see everyone partying on the rooftops and the city all lit up.
Such a cool view from either side! Went at night and the reflections off the water were really pretty. Its a long walk across.. But worth going and taking a peak.
It's a beautiful bridge overlooking a beautiful city. I proposed on this bridge in 2015, and it always brings back warm memories for me. It's a great photo spot.
The walk up the bridge is steep, so those who feel they need to should use the elevators. It provides nice views of the city and would be enjoyable day or night.
If you want a great view of downtown Nashville, walk this bridge. There's non-event street parking near the stadium and the views along the water are stunning!
Love this view! You'll always have something to remember the city by with some stellar view and peaceful walk or scooter ride on the bridge! Highly recommended
The bridge was located right across from the hotel so we decided to go for a walk. The views are amazing and I really enjoyed learning a small bit of history.
Great view of the waterway and stunning views of Nashville from a 360° perspective. Definitely a must do if you're a tourist visiting Downtown Nashville.
Excellent view from downtown and the river. The bridge connects downtown with the Nissan stadium. While crossing on foot be aware of bikes and scooters.
Beautiful bridge sadly poorly maintained, nice view from there and a great shortcut for the stadium and hotels cross the river and the bars in downtown.
The views from the bridge were beautiful and it was an enjoyable walk! It's a great way to see the downtown area without having to physically go there!
Nice looking pedestrian bridge from which you can view the Downtown Nashville. It's specially beautiful at night. Parking could be difficult though.
An incredible view of the city, magical lights that adorn the bridge, the lake contrasts with the bridge. A beautiful place to appreciate the view
This boasts a view of Nashville's skyline and very Instagram-worthy locations. A lot of very talented musicians not in the bars hang out here too.
This bridge was a brilliant idea. It connects Nissan Tennessee Titan Staduim with the wonders of downtown Nashville. Beautiful nighttime skyline.
Went on a last minute vacation with my Mother, Aunt and one of their friends. Nashville, Tennessee is where decided they would like to see.
You really get the best view of downtown Nashville and the Titans stadium from this bridge with easy access to both! Amazing sunset views!
If want a great view of the Nashville skyline, this is the place. An easy walk from downtown and over to Nissan Stadium for a Titans game.
One of the main attractions in downtown Nashville. Nice views of the city from the bridge and direct access to Nissan Stadium …
Bridge was pretty dirty considering it's a pedestrian bridge, however really nice views. Don't really get the hype but it's a nice walk.
Such a perfect bridge to start a run when your running in the city. Plus chicks dig beautiful walks over looking the Nashville skyline
This bridge is really neat , walked up and hung out for awhile , lots of people were there . I think this is where I took this clip
The view from here us AMAZING. We took so many pictures and enjoyed the view. Night time is the best time for the beautiful lights!
The pedestrian bridge has a vibe of it's own. You can escape the noise for a bit while taking in the beautiful views of downtown.
Really cool find, but had a hard time trying to find parking. The bridge is well worth the stop and time to get out and walk it.
One of the best places to watch the sunset over Nashville... and what a great way to repurpose tax dollars for a downtown core!
It's a lovely walk, especially at night. The bridge is lit up bright white, and the colors of the city reflect off the water.
Great view of the river and downtown from the bridge. A nice way to step away from the bustling city and take a moment.
Very historic Bridge seen in many videos and movies here in Nashville take a trip across the to get some great pictures
This place is very nice. Good for family walk or romantic stroll. It was raining when we went, but that did not matter.
Pretty cool that this bridge gets you from the honky tonk central to the stadium. Very peaceful walking on the bridge.
Great for walking and jogging. Amazing views of the city and the Nissan Stadium. Took some amazing shots here. …
This was a fun little hike. We got a treat watching a barge boat pushing a flat bed of sand on the Cumberland River.
Very nice and offers amazing views all over the city. It's a great touch to the amazing skyline and Nod to "JS" !!
Very cool walking from downtown to the stadium, scenic views, great people watching after the game; it was packed!
Nice way to get to the titans stadium from downtown, and great view of the city , and the stadium esp at night
The leaking trash cans smell horrific, canvassed in weed smoke. Not enjoyable. 2 stars because of the view.
Gorgeous views of the Nashville Skyline. We visited in the Fall and the foliage is such a beautiful touch.
Great bridge to get pics of the city and to get you to the stadium if you are staying downtown Nashville.
Its a great experience. Very good place to chill take pics of the city and walking distance to Broadway.
