**UPDATE AT THE END** New to town. I chose Dr. Boulter after some extensive research comparing doctors on my insurance provider list to their public profiles and patient reviews. I read several good (and some bad) reviews about Dr. Boulter and I liked his years of service to many local families. As long as the doc is honest and gentle. Gums and teeth are just that. Not brick and mortar. I had a terrible experience! Dr. Boulter was a very pessimistic doctor. Everything he said came from this "everything is bad until proven good" kind of place. He probed my gumline so hard, when it was time to stand up, my leg muscles felt sore and permanently locked from clenching my whole body so hard!! I had fingernail marks in my hand from holding on for dear life and even let out a groan as the head rest clicked back against the pressure of my head trying to get away. Every time his probe gently stopped where it should, I felt pressure on my face where he had to brace his hand to push the probe further. I have been probed before and never have I felt pain like that. It is still lingering in the nerves of my cheeks! Why? Because he was creating fresh wounds in my delicate well taken care of pockets. (Of course I had gum disease. Why else would the probe go that far? BECAUSE YOU PUSHED YOUR PROBE TOO FAR AND PIERCED CONNECTIVE TISSUE! THAT'S WHY! *exit sarcasm*) The way they explained my "gum disease" made no sense. In the picture, when you have the disease, the tooth is separated from the gum. Looks like a probe would slide on in there, no pressure needed. But then they tried to say the pain was caused by inflammation. If my gums were so inflamed, then why on earth was it effortlessly painless until he pierced my actual gumline! I tasted blood the first time I had a chance to close my mouth and thought "never again". Last time I saw the dentist was about 3 years ago. Most people think that is unheard of because they do not have good oral hygiene. Before that, it had been over 15 years! That dentist could not stop raving about my oral hygiene and asked me how. My answers...Peroxide. No flossing. Regular brushing. His probing did not include forced pressure and my numbers were fine. Since then, I've actually cleaned up my diet and kept the same oral routine and somehow my numbers are worse!? You know, I get it. Doctors know best. They spend many years, countless hours, and tons of money to say "they know best". I thank God for doctors every day. But I also thank God for the wisdom to know my body and to trust when something isn't quite right. I have no issues at home with my gums. No bad breath. No bleeding when I brush and no sign of inflammation. No redness and no weird sensitivities. I can push my fingernail along the bed of my tooth and up into my gumline and poke where it is attached to my tooth with no sensitivity whatsoever. I do not recommend this dentist to anyone. UPDATE: I wanted to add an update because the doctor so graciously responded with his many boisterous credentials. I did go to another dentist and my pockets were fine! For starters, my new dentist took more Xrays AND took digital color photos of all angles of the inside of my mouth. Dr. Boulter only took a full radial. My new dentist was able to catch the shadowing of a small cavity because of those digital color photos and Boulter never mentioned it. He did mention veneers for the small gaps in the front of my mouth! I am pretty sure my new hygienist did not want to believe my story because this person has a family member in Boulter's care. The new hygienist probed me and I didn't feel a single thing!! When she moved toward my mouth with what looked like the probe, a wave of heat and utter fear came over me and I instantly perspired everywhere possible. After a few teeth, I melted into relax and the hygienist announced they were probing. I was RELIEVED this person wasn't stabbing me and almost started crying. I am so happy I trusted my spirit on this and switched.

Dr. Boulter was referred to me and WOW!!!! ...sooo glad I, as well as my husband, are now his patients...ironically enough, he practiced dentistry in arlington where I went to one of his associates...we moved as well and recently reconnected with him.. ..in the time between, I was under the dental care of someone else, who however, RUINED my teeth and gums!!! How was I supposed to know?? I went every 6 months and the former dentist and hygenist continued to say all was well...unfortunately, all was NOT well....dr. boulter has pictures to prove the rediculose shape my mouth has been in..that's a sign of good dentistry..he documents his every move and step of each procedure on each patient with digital photography and state of the art equiptment...plus a beautiful office and more than helpful and friendly staff...Dr. Boulter has been nothing less than purely awsome...he is a true professional...I feel compleatly confidant in his knowlege, skill and expertise..he has done lots of EXTENSIVE work on a few of my back teeth and I have YET to feel pain...infact, I just left his office today after having gum and bone aurgery and feel perfectly fine...no one can hold a candle to his skill...(and he is funny)..I am very grateful to have him as my dentist and have referred many of our friends and coworkers to him...(p.s.) my husband had an emergency with one of his teeth and dr. Boulter came in, stayed late and missed a very important personal event he had planned to attend to see that his patient, my husband, was taken care of...he then called the next day to see if my husband was doing ok...THAT is going ABOVE & BEYOND!!!!!

I moved here in 2015, and had an abscess tooth diagnosed by my primary care doctor. She referred me to Dr. Boulters office. Sadly, Dr. Boulter was out of the office that day teaching at a conference. When I explained my situation, Donna immediately found me an Endodontist close by and made the referral for me to them for the abscess and temporary root canal and scheduled the follow up with Dr. Boulter. Thankfully when I did had my appointment for the crown with Dr. Boulter he discovered the abscess did not completely heal and immediately got me back into see the Endodontist to get the additional treatment I needed. That was my first serious dental issue and Dr. Boulter and his awesome staff made it so much easier and less stressful than I could ever have asked. I thank my primary care Dr. Jaime Kibler for personally referring me to him as she is also a patient of his and holds him in high esteem. Since that time my whole family now sees Dr. Boulter. It was hard on the staff when the Covid pandemic started and continues on. Dr. Boulter and the staff take the safety of the patients, and the staff, very seriously. I greatly appreciate that since recently being diagnosed with an autoimmune disease and my health can be easily compromised due to the medications I need to take to fight it. I wear a mask everywhere, even though I am vaccinated. I know the entire staff is vaccinated, but I really appreciate their still wearing masks to protect patients and their staff. Thank you Dr. Boulter and your staff for always looking out for your patients safety. It is much appreciated.

Choose this practice with confidence! I have been a patient of Dr. Boulter for 18 months. Dr. Boulter is a consummate professional. His great sense of humor helps to break the ice and ease the tension. (who isn't tense at the dentist) I speak with confidence when I say; he wants what is best for his patients. He responded to a dental emergency I had on a holiday weekend within minutes of my phone call. I cannot praise him enough. His entire office waiting room, restroom, front desk, examination rooms are all pristine. Dr. Boulter and all his office staff are courteous, helpful, and friendly. All are VERY polite. She recently sent me a you tube link for my kids to watch to ensure they are using their sonic care toothbrush properly. There may be plenty of dentists in Jacksonville, but Dr. Boulter and his staff will take excellent care of you. He is highly respected in his field for good reason!

My family and I have been a patient of Dr. Boulter for almost 30 years. I cannot say enough about the service he provides. He is very straight forward and will discuss all concerns as well as preventative work up front. This can feel daunting to a new patient but this is the long term care plan and you can feel confident that your teeth and gums will be healthy and at their best. Dr. Boulter also does orthodontics, implants, etc. One place for all your needs which makes life much simpler. On top of this, he has amazing office staff. Great staff, very neat and clean office. I had a great experience up until I halfway through my dental visit. I was there for a cleaning with several fillings and unfortunately ended up being charged for a mistake that the dentist made. While drilling into tooth 19 he accidentally drilled tooth 18. He did not hesitate to fix the tooth that was accidentally hit Thank goodness. However, I was very unhappy at the fact that I had to foot the bill for the mistake. I would've loved to have continued going to this office for more cosmetic dental work but I am not okay with being charged for a mistake on the dentists' behalf. Especially when I was not even consulted about the charge until after it was done and I was at the check out counter.

I truly enjoy visiting my dental office for dental services. The staff is very welcoming and greet you with a smile. They are very timely with their appointments. My dental hygienist always come to get me within 5 minutes to begin my services. Probing questions are asked to see if there are any issues. Proper equipment is provided for protection. The chair is comfortable. The outside view is a beautiful distraction if one is feeling a little an anxiety. Appointments are usually made before heading to the checkout area. It’s a great location with ample parking, with an engaging, professional, caring staff and Dentist. I highly recommend Dr. Joseph Boulter for your dental care services.

Dr. Boulter and ALL of his staff are like family. There is never any pressure from anyone to get procedures and there is a plan in place for each patient that is prioritized based on individual needs. I love the fact that you can communicate by text or phone (super convenient with work schedules) and that the team is flexible. I've had bad experiences in the past and wish I was going to this team much earlier in life (they've helped fix previous bad dental work thankfully). Also, I'm a 37 year old baby; they know this undesirable character trait of mine and deal with my crazy with patience and friendly demeanor. The past 5+ years have been a blessing!

OlI only noted today as today I had a new one that was difficult to communicate with as English was not her first language. I had bone loss and my gums dropped down, letting bacteria get in between my gums and my implant. Dr. Cecil White was my periodontist for a gum graft to fix this situation by thickening up the gums around the implant. He was wonderful to work with, he made himself available for calls during the week and weekend for any concerns I had. The results were great. I would recommend Dr. White to anyone. Dr. Boulter always takes great care of all of my concerns. Before I started seeing Dr. Boulter I continued to have the same problems over and over. He has corrected all of my issues with great compassion. If I have a lot of work done he always calls me later to see how I'm doing. You just don't find that level of concern in doctors anymore.
