I've been consistently disappointed by this location's dry cleaning services. Over the past six months, I have encountered the following problems: 1. Location not open during its stated hours. As others have mentioned, the place will sometimes remain closed for 30 minutes past its posted opening time in the morning - inconvenient when I have already carved out time before work to drop off clothing. In addition, it closes without notice for mealtimes at odd hours. I have no issue with this in principle - everybody needs to eat - but I have returned at the posted times only to wait another 15 minutes for an employee to show up. 2. Inconsistent pick-up times. I'm not fussy with pick-up times, and will often show up a few days after the dry cleaning is supposed to be ready. Which is why I find it odd that the clothing at Hillary's is often NOT ready for pick-up, and staff has never been able to inform me why, with the exception of one time they said they couldn't find my clothing (which forced a very stressful run home in the middle of a work day to change before a function). I returned a week later and helped them track down the dress. It would have been really great if they could have put in any effort whatsoever to remedy the mistake themselves, or to call me in advance to let me know there was an issue. What is the point of giving my phone number if you are not going to use it? I've also dropped off clothing for simple repairs and been told the tailor would be in that week, only to return at the end of the NEXT week and to be told he hadn't come in at all. This is a disappointing miss, because the quality of hems he provides is really quite good. 3. They have never once managed to fully remove the stains from a piece of my clothing (I have had better luck using baking soda at home, in most cases). It always comes back looking pretty much the same as before, with a tag noting that further stain removal would damage the material. Again, I understand this in principle. What bothers me is the lack of transparency: if my clothing is not washable, I would rather they let me know before I spend money on a wasted service. All in all, I would really recommend against this store's dry cleaning services. Go to Glebe Tailoring instead - it is close by, and provides much more attentive customer service with no punctuality problems in my experience. The only thing salvaging this store from a one-star rating in my books is their tight stitching on hems and their generally friendly (if not especially competent) customer service - not a high bar to set, I'm afraid. Don't waste your money by going here.

I had the most incredible experience at this family-owned laundry mat in our neighborhood! With Mother's Day approaching, I needed my dinner napkins washed promptly, and they exceeded my expectations. Adrian was incredibly accommodating and friendly. Despite it being a busy weekend, they managed to have a 12-hour turnaround time, ensuring my napkins were ready in time. The quality of their work was exceptional, with the napkins coming out clean and perfectly pressed. What truly sets this place apart is the personal touch and attention to detail they provide. They took the time to understand my needs and preferences, going above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied. I highly recommend this laundry mat to anyone in need of outstanding service and a friendly environment. Thank you for making my Mother's Day preparations effortless and memorable.

Policies that are not listed on their website allowed them to refuse service to my friends who have COVID. Even after explaining that Ontario and Ottawa Public Health guidelines have changed to include the fact that covid is not transmitted on surfaces (aka laundry), they still refused wash and fold service to a contactless pickup. When I initially called they said they'd accept it if I did the pick up and drop off, and then they changed their minds. This is incredibly unprofessional, particularly since they've had two years to put such policies on their websites, and it feels completely arbitrary as a result. If I hadn't disclosed, they would never have known.

EDIT: Used to love this place a lot, but they have hiked their prices to a wild amount and it’s incredibly frustrating. For most of the time I’ve been coming here a small washer was $2.25, 2 weeks ago when I came it had increased to $2.50 which was fair, today when I came in it was $3.50 which is way too expensive. To start the dryer (only gives you 6 minutes) it’s now $2 and bleach for a single load is $2 up from $0.50 it was before. Will definitely be looking for a new place to do laundry. Great service and always very clean and well managed. Nice seating area and free wifi available! Owner even payed for my laundry when he was in!

Not really sure how this place stays afloat. Half the machines don't work or break down in the middle of your load. Many of the coin slots take a dozen tries to get the coin accepted. I've walked in and the employee (who is usually watching movies yet still requires two half hour breaks through the day) has actually been asleep. Was pretty angry one day when after walking 15 minutes with a big load of laundry on my back the employee told me I couldn't wash because I was 5 minutes late for the "last load" even though the place was supposed to be open for another hour. PRO: Good wifi.

This place is by far the cleanest in the city, but I won’t be back. On Tuesday it was $3 a wash and $2 for the first 6 minutes of the dryer. Today it is $4 a wash, and $5 for the first 6 minutes. What cost roughly $11 to wash and dry 3 days ago is now $20+. This is straight up pandemic gouging, and every customer down there is angry. Taking our laundry home to air dry after washing as I refuse to give this business another cent. Who raises their prices 150% in less than a week?!

Great experience since Danielle and Adrien have taken over the laundromat. Although not officially open they have posted their phone number for contacting and they readily respond to work out a mutually appointed time to accommodate access to the laundromat. They are working hard to reopen with a system for greater access and the ability to swipe pay if customer is low on change for machines. Definite upswing, please continue!

I’m a frequent traveler due to my job in the entertainment industry. I am always in search of a good facility to do laundry. Adrian and Danielle Grant are running a next level operation in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. They are friendly, professional, highly experienced and very dedicated to quality service. They definitely get at 15/10 Rating!!! A CLEAN efficient and safe facility… DEFINITE WIN!!!

My favourite place for coin Laundry by far. Right at the Glebe, next to a Starbucks, a grocery store and a bar. The cycles are fast, I think 19, 25 & 27 mins. The driers are amazing and cheap too. I have tried going to other places like Somerset, Gladstone & Dalhousie which have better waiting areas and window views but their machines aren’t as good as this location.

  • Winston Campeau

Always a friendly smile from the staff at the counter. Free wifi, plenty of magazines to read, a television, and close proximity to Starbucks, a bad, and a McDonald's. I recommend using the big washing machine for multiple loads ($4.00) rather than multiple smaller washing machines ($4.50).

On several occasions, I have arrived 30-45 minutes after the opening time only to find all of the doors locked and no employees there. Extremely frustrating when I planned a certain amount of time in my day to get my laundry done and the place that is supposed to be open isn't.

  • Iga Zatorska

Lovely people, good service and reasonable prices - and all in the heart of the Glebe! They're not operating in full swing yet, but you can see the owners are putting lots of effort to make it not only a great laundromat, but also a pleasant experience. Highly recommended!

  • Imran Huda

Scammers. Do not use this place. Washer is very small and costs too much, the dryer costed 5$ and only dried for 6 minutes and they refused to refund or help us. The machines are double the price anywhere else and they have horrible customer service. Hillary is terrible.

  • Patrick Mayer

Really nice and spacious laundry. Also you don't need coins and you can expand the closing time from 6pm to 12pm with an special account. Owner is really nice and accommodating, I tried more coin laundrys in Ottawa and this is definitely the best!

  • Cameron MacDonald

I have been going to this laundry mat for years. They just keep raising the price. $5.00 for 6 minutes of dryer time is robbery! To do one load of laundry, it cost over $12.00!! You have just lost a regular customer because of this.

  • Denise Perrier

I recommend this neighbourhood laundromat. Friendly, with good machines and comfortable chairs to read while we wait. This young husband and wife team just opened their business, and I encourage anyone to encourage them.

  • Anais Labreque

Super nice staff but the place is never open on time, they are always out of change, the machines smell bad and are out of service for months on end... if you can go to another laundry mat you should.

  • anna dicesare

Washing machines were very small - had to use several machines. Many of the dryers were out of service. Would not recommend especially if you have larger items like a comforter to wash.

  • Nat

Machines work via payrange app, loved it, heard of great plans for this place! Machines work well, there's a washroom, armchairs, box of blocks for little ones and calm music. Nice!

  • Magical Rainbow

Very nice and helpful people! I was desperate to find a laundromat as my washing machine is having issues, and I was happy to find this place! I will recommend it without a doubt.

  • amara eke

I had a great experience! Customer service was excellent. I think the prices for loads are really affordable and it doesn’t take too long to round up your laundry. …

  • rayn bufrik

We arrived and were greet by the owner, really helpful he explained to us how everything was working and he took care of our clothes during the washing and the drying time !

  • Erika Campbell

Very frustrating. Have come multiple times to pick up or drop off dry cleaning and no one is there even though the hours posted on the door say they should be open.

  • Ed Tso

Very confusing using the app to pay also no clear signs on how much and how to pay. Also, because of the confusion it cost me $15 to do 1 load of wash and then dry.

  • Daniel Morin

Very Friendly service, helped trouble shoot and successfully wash my king sized duvet Machines worked well and the atmosphere was great while waiting Thanks !

  • Lolo Hill

I had a great customer service experience! The manager was helpful and very attentive. Very appreciative of his help, for sure I will be coming back.

  • J Farrell

Lights on, opening hours apply, middle of a nice Saturday, door is locked, no one answering the phones. See you at Hillary's old ottawa south!

  • F Ali

*laundry is closed* The person who answered my calls made me wait a lot in front of the gate and said he will open the gate but he didn't

  • Chetaan Naik

If you got no detergent, you have been covered 50c. Laundry:2.5 , Dryer:2 . The staff at the till would give you change.

  • Marc Zito

New owners, equipment is old and leaks and does not clean properly. Additionally, very expensive 5$ wash 5$ dry.

  • Stace

From out of town, paid for parking at 4:50pm for 2 hours just to find it closed despite not closing until 7pm.

  • Estefania Palacios

I loved the attention of everyone there, the owner was very polite and helpful. I will definitly come back!

  • Dominic Laporte

Decent but often have many machines out of order ( for months) and cant give change. Staff are always nice.

  • Peter Ibbotson

Got my laundry done simple and easy. Respectable rate and done just over an hour.
