My train ride from Lakeside to Kalk Bay train station was a scenic journey that showcased the natural beauty of Cape Town's coastal landscapes while offering a convenient and enjoyable mode of transportation. The journey began at Lakeside station, a charming and well-maintained train stop that set the tone for the ride. As I boarded the train, I was met with friendly staff and a clean, comfortable environment. Once the train departed, it quickly became evident that the highlight of this journey was the breathtaking views of the coastline. The route hugged the shoreline, allowing passengers to gaze out at the sparkling waters of False Bay and the rugged cliffs that define this part of the Cape Peninsula. The sight of surfers catching waves at Muizenberg Beach and the quaint fishing boats in Kalk Bay added to the coastal charm. The convenience of this train ride was another notable aspect. It provided a hassle-free and eco-friendly way to explore some of Cape Town's most picturesque spots. Moreover, the affordability of the train ticket made it an accessible option for both locals and tourists. Kalk Bay train station marked the end of this delightful journey, and it was conveniently located near Kalk Bay's vibrant fishing harbor and the bustling Main Road with its eclectic mix of shops, galleries, and restaurants. In summary, my train ride from Lakeside to Kalk Bay train station was a memorable experience that combined the beauty of Cape Town's coastline with the practicality of public transportation. It's an excellent choice for those looking to enjoy stunning views, explore charming coastal towns, and do so in an eco-conscious and budget-friendly way.

We love spending the day here. There are so many interesting and unique shops. Anything from leather handbags, shoes, scarves, books, decor, art and gifts. There are delightful places for coffee or an ice cream or sit somewhere great for a superb meal. The views never dissappoint and the noise of the trains make you feel alive. Watch out for Puffing Jenny Steam train that travels every few weeks. Or take a walk to the harbour for fresh fish or freshly fried fish and chips. Watch the seals lazying about or the ever hopeful fisherman.
