This place is a neighborhood gem. It's a lovely big space , so they can almost always find you a table at the last minute, even on saturday night. It's quiet, so you can talk. Staff is super nice. The food is solid. Good tempura, fresh sushi. My daughter is a vegetarian, so she orders the truffle noodles, which are delicious. More

We went for the Batsu comedy, this was a fun time and a very unique experience. Overall the food was fine but I would not seek this out without the draw of the comedy as well. The sushi overall was lackluster and bland. The drink options are fun, the sake flight offers fun options and I highly recommend the yuzu beer. More

Spicy chicken ramen - with plain shredded chicken breast cubes and whole FULLY boiled egg - this is the worst Ramen I’ve ever had. Nobody knows anything about the actual Ramen back in the kitchen guaranteed. And I’ve waited 25 minutes for this quick lunch ramen when it’s quite empty during lunch time. A sad experience.

Overall has quiet ambience! Relaxed and dim lights will set the mood in dinners. But foods are little over-priced! Our dishes came out as imperfect, didn’t get enough choices for replacements! Not quite good if food is important for your outing, may be you will enjoy company of your wonderful partner or group only!

Absolutely delicious! The one challenge I have with is place is making a selection. The sushi rolls are always fresh and tasty, Tuna deluxe is my favorite. The service was excellent, they made themselves available by checking in with us regularly. The Chicken Panko was moist and premium. More

This place might actually be too authentic for my taste. I found the Tempura in my Udon Tempura to be tasteless and I didn't care for the broth with the noodles. Nice atmosphere, although it became quite crowded and noisy as three evening want on. My husband enjoyed his sushi.

Modern and upscale environment. Inviting atmosphere. One of the best sushi options in old town. Our server was also outstanding! He welcomed us, walked us through the menu and gave recommendations. Food and drinks were excellent and we will be back again soon.

This is one of those restaurants that days later, I'm still thinking about the food!! I tried several appetizers and dishes. Every choice was delectable. The atmosphere was romantic , perfect for an anniversary. I look forward to going back soon. More

Amazing “Rock Shrimp” appetizer. Summer roll is amazing. Blazing Red Dragon Roll is great. The space is about 20 table and has a good wine selection. Cool spot in Old Town. Friendly service! Great dessert and they have an upstairs lounge with events!

Wonderful! We decided to venture out and order cooked food. Fried tofu was amazing! Sushi was great as well. Even little things like ginger were superb. We had lavender drink , which was very nice and generous with alcohol. Highly recommend. More

Mama San is super sweet my co worker introduced me to this place and her and her co-workers come to check out our place. When my family came to town to visit I took them her and they loved it. This is a small quaint place with great service. More

Went there for lunch with a friend, Food was good. We asked if we could split the bill, the #sassywaitress shot back at us:“ I hope you don’t mind to share a pen?” When she handed us 2 checks. For her information #welovedsharing the pen ✌

I was unfortunately disappointed with the dining experience at Kamehachi. It was a Tues evening and got relatively busy. For at least 15min at a time, multiple times throughout the night, we couldn't even see any waiter to get the attention

There's nothing special about this place. Some reviews like in open table rated this restaurant 4.8*. To me it's overrated. The fish selection is nothing impressive, except the price. It's highly overpriced while the fish cut is very small.

I won’t recommend this place to anyone. This is the second time I give them a try and Kamehacki was so disappointing. Unless you live in the neighborhood and don’t want to go out of your way for a sushi place, don’t go here. Their sushi is

We went for dinner on a Saturday night. We had made a reservation on open table and stopped in about an hour before our reservation and they had, had a no show so they were able to accommodate us. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We

We decided to try this place for a date night dinner before going to a show. The food was excellent. fresh and flavorful, and our server, Bolero, was the best! She was extremely knowledgeable about the menu, along with how the food tasted

I am not coming back because I am from Asia and I know the average quality of the food. I mean service is good. Gyoza.. taste like factory frozen gyoza. Does not look fresh at all and the server spilled soy sauce so I took it back. It was

Loved the ambience and service here. The staff Rich and the manager Roger were personal and the best host ever. We even got an appetizer & wine complimentary. The music wasn't too loud. You can still have a conversation without having to

Okay so I ordered food for the first then here. They showed up with 2x what I ordered and totally the wrong stuff!! The food was actually MUCH BETTER than I expected and I at it all anyways. My order was comped by the amazing staff and I

Me and five of my friend stopped in to Kamehachi after a day at the beach watching the air show and the first thing we noticed was the AC which was much needed. I’m not too big of a sushi fan but the Chicago Crazy was delicious and well

  • Jenny Kulb

We popped over here after our tour of the Chicago History Museum and it was a fun find! The rock shrimp and scallop sushi were the best thing we ordered. The Yakisoba could have had a slightly more interesting sauce. Friendly service.

  • Carolyn Porter

The food was absolutely delicious. Unfortunately, I cannot say anything good about our service. As a party of 5, we ordered 2 different bottles of sake, eggplant, spicy tuna deluxe Maki roll, the mayflower Maki roll, uni shooter, sea

OK...guilty as charged with loving this Japanese sushi restaurant. It's our go to at least twice a month. The food is what you would expect, delicious, tasty and fresh. Only 4 stars for the service only because of the consistent

Excellent service! Delicious food! The veggie crunch was delicious. We had tickets to a show - they had us in and out in no time which was much appreciated. Definitely come here for a delightful, delicious experience. More

Very nice setting. Swift and attentive service. Amazing oysters and lovely sake selection. The rolls were delicious and the wasabi fresh. Might be the best jack mackerel I've had so far. GF friendly. Worth stopping in.

Love this sushi spot. Perfect date night spot or with friends. The sushi is 10/10 and the atmosphere right on wells in old town is perfect. Great service. I am a big sushi eater and I give this place a 10/10. More

Do try out the shiitake sushi, the other 2 we tried were average. We ordered online for pickup which said 20mins but it took 45mins. So we had to sit there for quite some time. But the staff was nice. More

  • Brookelynn

Service was good but the food was mediocre. The yaki soba noodles was mainly bell pepper and they were stingy on the shrimp. It was cut up pieces rather than whole pieces. The sushi was great through.

  • Thao Tran

My friend and I came here for an early dinner and this place is big with many servers. We waited a while until someone picked up our order (the place was still empty at this time). We ordered:

Had a stand at lolla. Their Tofu Rice Bowl was literally white rice, a small squirt of sauce, 4 edamame beans and some uncooked, from a packet tofu with no seasoning… shameful for $14 More

Pricey but excellent food and service. I sat at the bar and was guided by the excellent bartender to pick a sake for my dinner order. The food was fantastic, fresh, expertly prepared. More

Great service, amazing food, nice restaurant. No complaints here! We ordered the Passion Maki special, Summer roll, and Kamehachi roll. I would reccomend all three! More

We went here to get a drink and pass a little bit of time, Erik took such amazing care of us. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to have a conversation with us.

The food was really good from the sashimi peppers to the rock shrimp, the sushi and the steak. The wait staff were great. Will definitely be coming back. More
