Hey, I would love to give this place a five stars. But I’m giving 3 stars for the work my tech did: The trickery on the pricing is losing them 2 stars: My my nail tech did an absolutely amazing job on my nails. But her and the other girl at the front desk both swear that they told me it would be an extra $20 for chrome on my toenails. They never did. I don’t know about anybody else but I would’ve never paid an extra $20 to have somebody take eyeshadow and lay it over the top layer of my nail polish!!! lol I just feel like that is Highway robbery I would’ve never gotten the Chrome I thought she said it was $2.00 dollars and then when I clarified and said “two dollars yes?” she said “no $10 and I said OK “ so I was OK with it if it was gonna be $10 not if it was gonna be $20 for Chrome on the toenails I don’t see this price anywhere on the menu and if it is, I would like to be proven wrong. But because of this extra $20 tacked onto my mail cost I don’t wanna come back unless they refund me my $20. Or credit it to my next service. I can’t stand feeling like someone’s tricking me. It’s even my birthday today so it’s worse when they trick and charge things and blame it on a language barrier and use it to get away with tricking me: I would never pay $20 For a darn chrome powder that looks like eye shadow for the toes. I definitely could’ve done that part at home. Again, the service was great up until they tricked me for an extra $20 at the end of the service: I wouldn’t mind to change my review to 5 stars if you guys call me and refund my Money : $20 Happy birthday to me!!!

I got my nails done today 03.17 with the gentlemen in chair R- I come here pretty regularly first time I’ve had a bad experience I understand they’re trying to get as many peoples nails done but he was in a rush since the minute I sat. He wanted to work on my nails as soon as I sat when they hadnt even handed me the color booklets to pick a color. He cut my thumbs cuticle. Second, I don’t like my nails thick, I have a preference and when I politely told him I wanted my nails thinner, he gave me an attitude and told me they’ll break and that if it broke and I came back he wouldn’t fix it like what? To give you a better understanding the nails were about 2 credit cards thick I like them 1 credit card thick- I’ve always had them done this way and have never had issues. No one goes to get a full set- fake nails set to get dinosaur looking nails lol Regardless again, raised his voice and gave me an attitude which I didn’t appreciate. Rushed to get my nails done and as expected left my nail shape uneven. Nail technicians shouldn’t feel attacked for their customer having a preference on their nail specially if the experience from the start was below mid. Again, posting this to remind everyone to not be afraid to tell their tech if they don’t like the shape/ thickness / they should fix it specially with politeness being used towards them. Beyond disappointed specially for a regular. I uploaded pictures showing my right thumb cuticle cut , left one fine. And also example of how the shaping was left crooked.

They did not apply the right size tips to ever sing nail and made them very small the tips do not reach side to side and still laid down acrylic my natural nails feels pinched and tight they also wouldn't give me exactly what I wanted in the picture and I had to change it and they got mad I didn't have an idea I was also going to get a pedicure but I left because of how rude they were to me. They asked if I was still going to get a pedicure and I said no I'm just going to leave and they got upset and overcharged me 75 for a simple Just one color messed up nail art and messed up nails it was my birthday too I had to go home and take off the pearls and put on my own nail stuff to fix em up little did they know I do nails too Update they reached out to me called me and addressed my issues. I explained everything that's going on and they just made excuses I will never be going to this place again. They asked if i had a problem then why didn't you address it? But I explained that it was my birthday and I had to go and I openly said that it wasn't so much that I didn't get what I wanted why would I pay 20 extra for Chrome color but the fact that my nail tips don't fit my natural nail and it's causing pain was the problem they made more excuses and didn't help not to mention I tipped him 20$ so my total was 107 the have great reviews and ladies walk out happy but unfortunately I was that one person that didn't get good service I will be disputing the charges on my card

I really wanted to like this place. A friend recommended it, but I received two of the worst gel manicures I’ve ever had at this salon (and I’ve gotten them 2x a month for the past 5 years all over the world). First experience - paid for a full gel manicure and the manicurist didn’t do anything other than paint my nails. No cuticle trim, no skin removal around the nail bed, their dog, Cocoa, tried to bite me, and it was terribly chipped within 4 days. I called to let them know my manicure was not as expected and made an appt to get my nails redone. After waiting for 20 minutes, the man doing my manicure was clearly in a hurry and used a dermal to remove my polish rather than the typical acetone soak. When I expressed concern that this would compromise the health/strength of my nails, he told me this is how it’s done at this salon. I pointed out that everyone else in the salon had acetone/foil wraps to remove their polish and that this was my preferred method. He then tried to tell me it was just because I had red polish and that he wasn’t going to wait the 10/15 min to remove the polish. He did an awful job polishing my nails, and told me he would not be doing any cuticle removal. When I pointed out that I had polish all over my fingers, he impatiently started wiping around my nails with acetone. It’s been two days and my nails are once again chipped and ugly. I’m extremely disappointed in my experience here and would definitely NOT recommend this salon.

For context, I get powder acrylics done monthly and have for years. I paused during the pandemic and we also moved far away from my old nail studio. After careful research, I decided on Kim's. 90% of my expectations were met. The Good: - I made a same-day appointment and they took me on time. - They have *so* many color and design options. Most shops don't have fun colors like neons or blues and greens. Or they don't have many diamond/extra options. This place does. - They are clear and upfront about price. The Bad: - If you've had long acrylics put on, you know it takes a gentle hand. Otherwise it hurts a lot. Well, sadly, it hurt a lot. She filed my nails into shape without pressing on the nail so it didn't pull against the natural nail. It aches a full day after. - Again, it takes a gentle hand. I pulled my hand away multiple times when she filed too hard or made my toes bleed (pedicure), but no apology or regard. Verdict: Give this place a shot, especially if you want stylish, vibrant acrylics. Just choose the nail tech carefully.

Though everyone there is so nice, this was the worst pedicure I’ve ever gotten. I don’t know if it was this lady’s first time or what. She used the dremel file to smooth my nails but ended up filing my skin. Then she started cutting my cuticles and of course cut me. I told her please no more cutting. I was already in enough pain. THEN it took her about 30 min to apply regular polish because she kept messing up. And every time she messed up, she used her sharp nails to clean up around the nail, but she would dig in so hard that I literally yelped out loud. The hot stones were so hot that I twinged multiple times when she’d put them on me. Overall, this was meant to be a relaxing experience but it turned out to be painful and irritating. I tried to me as kind as possible, but she just was so careless and didn’t listen to me or try to be gentle. Now my toes are still in pain the next day from all the cuts and they look terrible. Needless to say, I’m never going here again.

i have gone here previously and had okay experiences. I find they are pretty pricey and honestly don't have the best attitudes. Came in wanted design on a dip set but was told that it wasnt possible it wouldnt last etc. They kept pushing acrylic which i didnt want it doesn't work for me. I decided to go without the design and just get one of the colors. As he is putting the tips on i notice my pointer finger is completelt crooked. I mention it and he dissmissed me saying he would shape it later. Dont know how he was going to make it straight later but i trusted him. When he was shapping it he realized it was crooked and it was too late to fix it. I mentioned it after washing my hands and he straight up told me from his angle it was straight and my finger is crooked. My finger is bowed but so is the othwr side and that side isnt crooked. Honestly going back. $65 for extensions dip and a crooked nail. No thank you.

Omg I have been trying to find a nail salon with great customer service, good work, and affordable prices! Kim's meet all criteria! So on the day I went I called beforehand to make an appointment and I asked would 630p be too late since they closed at 7pm- Kim answered the phone and told me of course not, if we need to stay after we're closed then we will! That was my 1st sign that this place is different! And when I got there sure enough the was someone waiting for me! The girl who did my nails made sure that I liked them and let me know that if I didn't like the shape or anything and if she couldn't do them to my liking that someone else in the salon would fix them! I honestly appreciated it! They really strive to give great customer service and it really shows! They also offer wine and other drinks! So if you're looking for a place to try out give them a chance!

Trash customer service. My original nail lady moved and I should have known to find another spot. I came in today for a pedicure and a refill. The pedi was off to a questionable start; I requested warm water, the man providing my service was snappy and asked about my color choice. I gave him my color and made a second request for warmer water. Not change. Then we moved to his nail station. I requested for my length to be shortened and nail shape defined. His response, "if I hurt you, it's not my problem." I was requesting the same shape and size that I received during my last service at this salon. He was sassy. The owner Kim just blinked, moved me to her chair. No apologies. Just "sit here". I paid for my pedicure and left. Someone else will pay for ride service, just not me.

I'm new to Austin and wanted to get my nails done. The second I walked in, I was greeted. I told them I had an appointment and someone got started on my nails right away. Sony did my nails and let me just say that she is spectacular. She took her time making sure everything was even and she was very gentle. I absolutely love how my nails turned out and will definitely be back to see Sony. Something I also appreciated was their transparency. The design I originally wanted would have been a bit expensive. I've been to places in the past where they wouldn't tell me the price until after my nails were done. I loved how honest and sweet they were. Luckily, I had a bunch of different ideas for my nails and this is how they turned out. Will definitely be back! :)

I had never been here, now I’m a lifer the wait was pretty long, but I took that as a sign of a successful nail salon so I stuck it out. I was offered a complimentary beverage by this really sweet/funny receptionist while I waited. Mai was my nail technician— very professional and kind. I noticed that most customers around me appeared to be close/friendly to their nail technicians which again, I took as a good sign. All staff were dressed super nicely My gel nails turned out BEAUTIFUL. Zero flaws. Check the picture. Reasonably priced— $35. They also have waxing services that I will be trying soon. Until then, I will start making appointments ahead of time with Mai ☺️

Mai was very nice and friendly! She did my pedi! Kenny was very nice and friendly as well! He did my dip full set french manicure. He did a great job and I do like them. My nails are short and simple, so when it came time to pay a lady told him to charge me $70 for my nails. Regular pedi price w/ gel $48 total $118 & then I left a total $30 tip for the both of them. $148 for nails. I’ve never paid that much for a french manicure. I had just had hair treatment on my hair next door that was cheaper than my nails.. I honestly had a hard time sleeping last and I couldn’t dare tell my husband the price I had just paid for my “Short & Simple nails”.

Clean place with amazing service. The lady who did my nails is Jennifer. She was amazing. I went in not knowing what I wanted. I explained to her that I have a special event coming up and she did a great job! She picked a great design for my nails knowing I needed something that would match whatever I chose to wear and look great in pictures. Jennifer was efficient (she shaped and did my set in an hour) and my nails look clean, polish, and elegant. It's clear that the product they use are of good quality. They are clearly a favorite place, despite covid, the shop was busy. And I understand why, they do a FANTASTIC job.

I’ve never had gel nails come off quicker. I got a gel manicure on Wednesday afternoon. By Saturday morning, my index finger gel was peeling off; and it came off completely by Sunday morning. Now it’s Monday morning, and my middle finger gel is starting to peel off as well. I’m very surprised they’re already peeling off, especially since they’re on my left hand and I’m right handed. Plus I work in an office, so all I do with my fingers is type (I.e. I’m not doing anything with my hands where I’d expect the gel to come off quickly). At the price point of Kim’s, my gel should last longer than 4 days.

Moved to Austin a little over 6 months ago and I wasn’t getting my nails done because I just stopped doing acrylic before I moved and it took this long for my nails to be healthy again (after 5+ years of acrylic). Decided to go in for a gel manicure and I was lucky enough to be helped out by T! We talked about different option and she suggested I try dip because it’ll be better for my nails over time, last longer and look better than gel. I took her advice and I was so happy I did! My nails look SO GOOD! She was also super fast I was in and out in 40 minutes. Thanks T! I’ll definitely be back :)

I've been going to Kim's Nails for about 4 years off and on and they are always my first recommendation to women new to the area. I've seen them expand and remodel and it's amazing to see them grow! Wanted to drop a review and share my great experience with Tim the other day. The shape/length was spot on and I think I'll request him instead of hopping around like I usually do. I've had many great sets here. I even needed one nail needing repainting the day after and they had me in and out free of charge. Highly recommended and I've been to quite a few spots.

I got an acrylic fill here and it went pretty well. My nails ended up looking okay and being a good shape and not too thick. The gel color is rich and holding up well. There was a miscommunication and the nail tech started giving me a round shape rather than rounded square but she was able to mostly fix it when I noticed. The only really bad part is that she aggressively filed the tips of two of my fingers such that it was painful and left an abrasion that two tree days to heal. Prices were reasonable but I don’t want pain or injury when I get my nails done.

I came to this salon from a coworker’s recommendation. Maybe the worst pedicure I’ve ever had. The guy working the reception desk was absolutely rude. The nail tech didn’t even ask what kind of pedicure I wanted. She began and I was in and out in less than 30 minutes. I like to go and relax and have a good massage. Didn’t happen today. I go to check out and again the man at the desk was rude. Didn’t ask how my experience was. Just said,”35”. No thank you. Please come again. This place is dated and seemed dirty. I would choose to spend my money elsewhere.

there’s definitely one good nail artist here however, I went to go get my nails done and then I was hacked was not available because they were having personal reasons they took like a month off at I went in to get my nails done long and they just kind of rudely rejected me. It was just kind of terrible and I know that other people have done long nails before because my sister got her nails done long there before so I don’t think I really want to continue going to the nail salon but doesn’t appreciate that. I’ve been going here for years at this point .

I always like coming here. Hospitable, courteous and always do a great job in my experiences. Mimosas, margs, white or red wine, soda or a refreshing water as you get a pedi or mani. Love the vibe. I’ve been coming here for a long time, since they’ve opened. I’ve been to other places but I always come back here! Ty Kim’s nails and all their staff! Such a great nail salon! The owner is great, and all the employees are also wonderful. My favorite employee there is Tee- she is the sweetest person, and she is a perfectionist when it comes to doing nails. Another job well done by Nguyen! I got a French Tip acrylic set done by Nguyen and made sure to iterate that they were special occasion nails for an upcoming wedding and Nguyen delivered. I wanted a simple yet elegant look to match the black tie event. I've gone to Nguyen a couple of times and Nguyen does consistently amazing work!

Hands down the best pedicure I’ve had in a very long time. I got the essential pedicure with Lisa and she was terrific. Very thorough and paid such close attention to detail. She even set a timer for 8 minutes when massaging my feet and legs! And the prices are super reasonable. Will be back Kim's Nails and highly recommend.

I had Lisa do my nails and I will always request her. She is very good at what she does! I got my nails done for time holidays. I had the fake nails put on with the gel and polish over top. She worked quickly, the shape is great, the polish is good and the design she did literally perfect! I definitely recommend.

10 out of 10 would recommend Kim's Nail Salon to anyone in the Austin area. The energy was vibrant. My nail technician was very attentive and thorough although I could tell that the same could be said for all the technicians in the shop. So glad to have finally found my local nail salon.

I’ve been going to Kim’s for the past 2 years for pedicures and I love it there. Walk-ins are VERY welcome and the wait is 5 min tops. I recently got a pedi from Jimmy and I highly recommend him! $35 for basic pedi $45 for deluxe (Jimmy’s massage is great so go with this one at least!)

I was visiting family in Austin TX and needed my nails done. Tim did a GREAT job on my nails. Repaired 2 & filled the rest. He was talkative and very nice. It was clean, I was waited on immediately. FYI, They give you a discount for paying with Cash. I highly recommend this shop.

I visited Kim's Nails about 2 weeks ago. It was an amazing experience. Everyone including the nearby customers were very kind and personable. I got my nails dipped and a pedicure...there are no words to express how amazing my services were. I will be back this upcoming week!

Was told a price when we checked in and then the total price at the end was $25 more than expected. If the person at the front is t able to estimate the price properly, you should have the person that does the work come forward and give the price up front.

i am one to be very particular about my nails. so if i am paying for an expensive service, of course i want them done well and kim’s does exactly that! every time i leave completely satisfied and my nails usually last me about a month. highly recommend

I got a Pedi, and my daughter got her nails done. Only negative review I can give is that it isn't close to where I live at all. But I'm definitely going to be driving that hour and a half to get the best service I've had in awhile. Highly recommend!

I just moved to Austin and was nervous about trying out nail salons, but Lisa at Kim's Nails did a phenomenal job on my clear acrylic fill with gel!

I was really impressed! Amazing manicure today. Honestly one of the most meticulous and detailed manicures I've ever had! A+!!! I highly recommend.

Ask for Mike! He knows what exactly what I want for my nails every time I come here. He very attentive on my nails. 10/10 recommended Kim's Nails.
