DO NOT TAKE YOUR LOVED ONE HERE! I wrote a review on Facebook and was sent a letter I received 3 days after my review from the CEO Jason something about how my mother received high-quality care. It was actually laughable. I looked back threw the paperwork after I received that letter The one thing I was wrong about that I will openly admit was that in the paperwork it did show there are no doctors on staff at night which I wasn't aware of, also no morgue. My mother was sick there's no doubt about it, my mother's nurse was Heidi she was aware that my mother had a confirmed sepsis diagnosis yet failed to mention it when I called to check in throughout the day on the day my mother died. She told me that my mother started running a fever they suspected an infection and that they were having trouble getting a hold of the doctor on call that day to get antibiotics started. When you have a confirmed diagnosis of Sepsis, you have a limited amount of time to get treatment started with a higher chance of saving the patient. I asked for leg compression cuffs on my mother's legs that didn't get done till 24 hours later. My mother was in pain when I arrived, her first night, heart rate 139 BP 183/70 alarms going off people at the desk just hanging out. When I walked in the next afternoon, One of the machines was going off because her blood pressure was too low 71/58 and the nurses took there time responding when I asked for somebody to come in. They showed me marks on my mother's legs that later turned out to be mottling, I sent a photo to ask my friend and former employee If it looked as though my mother had been abused, she told me it looked like mottling and told me what it meant. My nurse Heidi said she wasn't sure what it was at first but when I confronted her asking if it was mottling she said yes. Another nurse- Sandy came in and tried to inform me that my mother arrived to there center like that. I can confirm personally that she did not leave her prior hospital like that and didn't have the marks her first night there. Her legs were exposed and that's what prompted me to ask for leg compression cuffs just like she had every day at Liberty during her two week stay. Dr records from kindred shows the mottling appeared over night while she was in there care at Kindred. I asked if I should be concerned or if I should start preparing my family for the worst, Heidi told me no, but she had also failed to tell me my mother was septic. Had I of known I would have never left, she died alone surrounded by people who really didn't care, let alone STRUGGLED to communicate all the facts that I, as her only child and power of attorney should have been aware of. When my mother coded I wasn't notified, they got her back again I wasn't contacted she coded again for her final time. The doctor I spoke with(Tadros) after I spoke to the responding doctor to her coding via Teledoc had the nerve to say you win some you lose some. Dr. Tadros Personally it was super insensitive, my mother life was not a game. He could only tell me she was really sick not the cause, sepsis wasn't mentioned till I saw my mothers death certificate at the funeral home and called him to find out why an autopsy wasn't done when he couldn't for sure say what killed her originally. The head guy of the facility Jason, gave me trouble when I asked for her records took me 30 days to receive them, having to pay $30. He told me he couldn't promise I could get them and that he had no access to them once the patient died. Liberty printed there records off in an hour all 500 pages free of charge. I asked for everything pertaining to her care from kindred they sent me half of Liberty records. Dr. tadros said he had no reason to do continued care from Liberty with continuing antibiotics even though she had a Tracheotomy two days prior and infection with those are highly probable. My mom may have still died but I also believe to an extent her death could have been prolonged her family could have been there and the CEO who believes she received high quality of care is full of shit.

A few individual staff are wonderful, caring people. These few will treat your loved one as an individual and actually listen to concerns. The rest of the staff, including Dr Hall (specifically) and their "dietitian", will nod and condescend while playing some kind of numbers game. Example: One nurse asked my relative, "Why are you even here?" (because she happened to be ambulatory) The nurse explained that if she could walk, she could continue her IV antibiotics at home. "Because Medicaid won't pay for a hotel room." She was there to heal her wounds, receive occupational therapy and guidance in her dietary needs. She was trying to be proactive in her recovery. They do not like this. They want you to be lying down, sedated and bringing in that easy money. Occupational therapy was not reliable and did not show up when they promised. When asked, they would deny and explain that they were only required to come every other day. It ended up being about once a week. Dr. Hall never once entered her room, nor did he attempt a rapport. At one point we caught him in the hall and the entire time we were speaking to him, he stood facing away from us, nodding. When she complained about new pain, he suggested it was the way she was standing and returned to his golf stats. The majority of this facility's patients are DIABETIC yet, they WILL NOT monitor patient diets. They will send meal trays with sugar packets, white bread and ice cream. The "dietician" will come to the room and assume since the patient is overweight she will not be able to handle an actual, healthy diabetic diet plan without TWENTY carb choices per day. So after having blind confidence in their antiquated, carb loaded diet, the dietician will return to the room and tell the patient they are not trying hard enough to maintain blood glucose levels. Their wound care is excellent. TLDR: If you have options, choose to take your loved one elsewhere.

I have now had two family members recover at this hospital and I dont think I have enough time to list all the wonderful things! MY grandpa was at Select before and the experience there was HORRID (we were given so many empty promises, treated poorly, and spoke down to by all the staff) so when we were told we needed to look into LTAC facilities again, the family went into panic mode since we had only experienced bad things with them. After many talks with Kindreds Rep (who would talk us through everything even on weekends, nights, after my grandpa admitted, etc) we finally decided to try Kindred... and SO HAPPY we did!!! When my grandpa was there I was overly impressed with many things but mostly the response time on call lights- even at Centerpoint where he was originally we had to wait what seemed like forever to get lights answered but Kindred even the cleaning staff would answer them then get you who you needed. The communication was amazing as well- with doctors & nursing... plus they even had the higher up administration check on how your experience was to make sure you were happy as a patient there. So then my Grandma needed care we also sent her to Kindred and we had a great experience with her as well, he favorite thing was the food- she was so sick of hospital food but said Kindred had "restaurant quality". She also had a wound vac and Angie the wound nurse was the highlight of her days- She said she would look forward to seeing her because she made her belly laugh every time, which my grandma is big on laughter is the best medicine. I could go on and on.... but if you are looking for family like care- Kindred is the place.

My father has been in this facility for almost 2 months now. He is a COPD emphysema patient and has a trach. They have jostled him from the first floor to the third floor down to the first floor up to the second floor. What's COPD emphysema patients they should not have the oxygen above 92% or the CO2 level will be astronomical and cause issues. They have his oxygen above 92% and I believe that is why he is still there. This place specializes in getting patience off of the vent and out of trach. When I had spoke to somebody representing the hospital before we moved him there, she said it was the best in the area and that she was a former doctor and she wouldn't represent this place if they weren't outstanding. Come to find out they are severely understaffed! I would definitely not have moved him to the facility if I would have known that. His PT well he has been there was awful in the beginning and did not happen as often as he should have been getting it. The first couple days that he spent there, the nurse that was in charge of him hung his call remote AWAY from him and he was not able to get it. For someone that could not speak and is in ICU status that is COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE AND UNPROFESSIONAL! I used to call daily to talk to the nurse but hardly ever can I get them on the phone! There is a voice mail box that they are unable to access for some reason. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE! HOW CAN THEY BE OPEN IF THEY ARE SEVERELY UNDERSTAFFED? CEO said she would come up to talk to me on Saturday and I waited for over an hour! Come to find out, she LEFT INSTEAD!? Unprofessional.

Dr. LAPIETRA, , is AWFUL! She gave my son extra meds, that made him a ZOMBIE, when he was pulling on his ventilator, when they were SHORT STAFFED at PROMISE. where SHE WORKS as well. Promise, is in Kansas. MY SON PASSED AWAY SHORTLY AFTER THAT. HE HAD BAD CARE AT BOTH FACILITIES. AVOID KINDRED! DO NOT GO TO PROMISE! I truly don’t know how she is a licensed Doctor. I can’t imagine having Martha Lapietra, EVER “taking care”of my loved ones, ever again. My son had been there (KINDRED) SEVERAL times, to be weaned off of a ventilator. He WAS successfully weaned off of the ventilator in 2017. DR. LAPIETRA, WAS NOT the HEAD DOCTOR AT THE TIME. I have another review up here about Dr. LaPietra, and the staff, that was there in 2021. Staff may have changed since I have been there. They were mediocre at the time. I’m sure the office, and doctors are still the same. Obviously, there will be some good reviews for this place. I can tell you I went back-and-forth with my son being admitted there, due to, it was the closest metro ventilator facility, if I’d of had another choice, distance wise, and correct care, I would have gone elsewhere. There were a FEW GOOD NURSE, on DIFFERENT shifts from 2017 to 202O. I honestly believe, the LADY IN HOUSEKEEPING was the sweetest most concerned one there, in 2020.

I own a Medical Transportation Company and have been transporting patients to Kindred North for the past 10 years. I really until now didn't know how amazing the care was. I knew everyone was kind when I would go for our quarterly meetings, and I respected how much they would advocate for their patients, but truly never realized what these wonderful people do each day.. and that is saving lives , improving lives and each person who works there is remarkable. My brother has been at Kindred North for the past 3 weeks, his prognosis for vent weaning was unpredictable, but the whole medical team was positive and continued to tell me he deserves a chance. Today I am picking my brother up and he is going to walk to my car without a vent, without oxygen and this truly is because of these wonderful health care professionals.. I cannot possible name each person, but please know my whole family is so very thankful so if any of you think that you don't make a difference each day I am here to tell you that you do. Dr. Ahmd and his team thank you for believing in my brother. You all did it. If you ever need a volunteer please let me know. I would love to give back the experience to someone else. Thank you again..

I was a patient there during the first COVID outbreak, so NO visitors were allowed my entire stay. I would have died If my wife had not continually called and asked, no beg for information. No one ever called her back, she just had to keep calling. My wife is an RN and thank God knew what to ask and how to follow up with them. I was only sent to Kindred because COVID had everywhere else full. Most of them showed no compassion and their inexperience shows in their decisions and directives. They do not prioritize the patient. They kept me restrained long after it was deemed necessary. I have the scars to prove it. Once I was unrestrained to save the staff time and effort, they would bring me three empty urinals so they wouldn’t have to come back as often. In my opinion false charting & documentation is rampant - if things are documented at all. I advise any patient to ask for daily copies of medical records I could go on and on, but the place is hell on earth and every other hospital, Dr., and Nurse I have talked to since my release all basically said the same thing about Kindred. Your lucky you got out of there alive. I suggest you go ANYWHERE other than Kindred.

I know Covid is real and I know the mental stress, and pain it cause on the patients, staff and the world. My daughter had gotten Covid and it was extremely hard before Kindred Hospital my daughter was at another hospital and thank God by the time she came to Kindred she was off the ventilator. My daughter would be on her call light for long period of time and at times my daughter would have to call Amy to resolve any issues she had. Poor Amy, she was called often. Any problems she had they did try to resolve them but they kept happening. There were some kind hearted people that really cared about their jobs and I do appreciate them but they were few. I do appreciate the speedy recovery and my daughter was able to leave kindred and go to a rehabilitation center. God’s plan always prevails regardless of the circumstances. I pray that things will improve with staffing and the quality of employees they’ll hire the future. I pray for the patients, families and the staff that have to endure in these troubles times. I’m thankful and grateful regardless! #wemustdobetter

The Physical Therapy team at Kindred Hospital is absolutely fantastic! Every member comes to work with a great attitude and treat the patients with respect throughout their treatment! I always looked forward to working with the team. They really helped me learn how to build my skills as well as building my strength in every issue I suffered from. They took very good care of me and all my problems, the head of the Physical Therapy team worked very hard and went out of her way to make sure I got special attention to certain areas of my body. Overall I need to express how much they care about you making progress towards a new chapter in your life. They really want you to get better. If you are suffering from any type of Wound Kindred Hospital is known for their wound care team and provides a comprehensive treatment plan designed specifically to your needs. A+ Physical Therapy Team is top notch! Definitely Recommend going to Kindred Hospital if you've been injured.

My husband was admitted while he recovered from COVID-19. The goals at this facility are to wean patients off of the ventilator, remove the tracheostomy and start therapy. Within one week the trach was removed and physical therapy was started. After just two weeks he was transferred to a rehabilitation facility. Most of the staff were considerate, compassionate and competent. The physical therapist was able to get him to try (and succeed) at a stand and pivot transfer, walk along the parallel bars and ultimately to walk in the hallway with a walker. The occupational therapist helped him brush is teeth, wash his own face, and assisted in the stand and pivot transfers. Speech therapy monitored his swallowing to make sure he was eating in a safe manor. After six weeks on the ventilator in ICU these were all huge successes. Thank you staff at Kindred for helping him succeed and move on to the next phase of his recovery.

I can’t say enough good things about Kindred Hospital Northland in Kansas City. From the administration, social workers and doctors to the housekeeping and maintenance people and everyone in between, all have been so friendly and eager to understand our needs and try in every way to help me and my wife get through a difficult time. The nurses and therapists are amazing and dedicated people who work so hard to help patients continue to make progress even when it is so difficult. The wound care is the best i have seen anywhere we have been. They also have a great little cafeteria for staff and guests, good hot food and drinks. The people that work here have made our time here more bearable and i will be forever grateful for that. The nurses can make my wife laugh even when i can’t, and i know she doesn’t feel like laughing, they are the best!

I have been a caregiver for close to 13 years. We have been to all the LTACs in the Kansas City area. Even though we live south of the city, we chose to come to Kindred Northland and will continue to do so if necessary. This facility is clean - immaculate in fact! The people here are genuine and genuinely care about the patient's progress as well as the family supporting them. Every facility says that when the call light is on, anyone can and will answer it. Kindred Northland is THE ONLY facility where anyone from the cleaning crew to the dietary staff to the chief officers answer a call light. The patient does not have to wait for response. I have told every facility we've been to that they need to take lessons from Kindred Northland (including Kindred South). I cannot say enough about this group of incredible people. Thank you so much!

  • Jessie St. Laurent

Kindred is one of the best hospitals ive been to. The staff is very caring and always come into the room with smiles on their faces. My favorite nurse here was Inna who works on day shift. She is the sweetest nurse Ive ever had. Even if I was having a rough day health wise or family wise she always was a great friend to lean on as cried out my issues. Inna is one of the staff members I would love to continue a friendship with even if its only over the phone. And I must say that DR. Goldstein and his little side kick Angie are absolutely wonderful wound care specialist here as well. Even tho it maybe be painful as they look at your wounds and clean them.. They are also great for a good morning laugh! I will recommend Kindred to anyone that needs good, caring, wholesome services.

  • Dolores Branscom

All of the staff here at Kindred were wonderful. Amy, the patient care representative was an absolute sweetheart. I work in healthcare and was sceptical prior to my dad’s admission. Amy quickly quenched all of my fears and doubts. The nursing staff were all wonderful. They worked so very hard to help my dad. They were patient and kind and most important of all they really did care about my dad. They had no problem answering our questions; they would even call and give us updates whenever there was a status change with my dad. The respiratory therapists were all awesome too, especially Erica. The Dr.’s were all great too and did an excellent job of explaining to us what was going on with my dad. They made a believer out of me and I would 100% recommend sending a loved one here.

  • Elaine Siegrist

I don’t even know where to begin. My husband had the most wonderful care imaginable. The entire staff from the front door into the whole hospital these people are the best. They gave the best care, was so understanding, never tired of us asking questions & crying over our loved one. They talked with us whenever we needed them. My husband was in great care. Every single person that helped take care of him gave him the best. We never worried about his care. We cannot thank you enough for everything you did for my husband. Amy even came to the service. I feel like we gained a family. Words fail me to express how thankful we are. We feel they went above & beyond in all their care. Thank you to the entire Kindred Staff in the North land. We appreciate you all so much.

  • Randy Fisher

Over all I would say kendred is a great hospital. The managing staff are good people. I had a few issues with some nurses that work there (. NOT ALL NURSES ARE CREATED EQUALLY). They jumped right on my problems an got it strait. They work hard to keep your loved ones safe an recover. I would recommend kendred they took good care of my wife an helped her on the road to recovery. Some of the nurses really went out of there way to make us feel safe an would make sure we were ok as well . The worst thing that happend was a communication break down between therapists an the nursing staff an it was cleared up right away . The food is good mostly an if you don't like what they bring just order something else an they bring it. Great people work here .

  • Rhonda Ashurst

Overall, little bedside manner. Dr. Lapietra, and her nurse, Lauren, work there, and they also work at Promise, in Overland Park, where my son was transferred to, due to Kindred doesn’t allow longterm ventilator patients. (At Promise ) They put him on busbar to keep him from pulling on his ventilator, and due to they were short staffed. The patient advocate, Amy is truly the only good thing about Kindred. It’s unfortunate, that all 3 local metro facilities, are really no good. And they know that families don’t have a choice, unless they want to go further out to Promise, which is awful, or Chicago. It’s heartbreaking. And disgusting. And with loved ones being closer to town, we could keep an eye on them. My precious son, has since passed away.

  • Aly jo

My mom came here for care after leaving icu. They discharged her after 2 days and I haven't been able to contact anyone get a hold of any nurses, or case manager. My mom was not ready to be discharged.. She has a broken arm untreated, among many other things that they did not address. She was screaming when she called me which is a sure sign she didn't get any of her anxiety medicine or mental health medicine. They said that she was caught downstairs trying to leave by the emergency room door, how is a patient running off like that with no one noticing?? Can't get any answers from anyone! Do not, do not go here or send people you love here. Waste of time and improperly discharged.

  • zachary helm

Only send people here if you want them to get worse. My mother laid in her bed for 2 days before anyone began working with her. Which caused her to become dehydrated, get a urinary tract infection and the infection in her lungs became worse. She laid in her own feces for only god knows how long. They only cleaned her after we found her. One nurse told us she was too tired to do anything and we needed “to wait until shift change”. The room was filthy. They had to clean vomit and blood off of the ceiling but only did so after we asked them too. They proceeded to call us liars when we brought all of this to their attention. If you love your family members do not send them here.

3 weeks ago today my Fiancé was transferred to kindred hospital in the northland, 11 weeks ago he had a massive heart attack at the age of 36 years old he was life flighted from Butler to Missouri to Kansas City Missouri where he stayed at st Luke’s then got transferred to kindred hospital where they where able to get him off full ventilation and was able to remove his Trach within two weeks of him being there this hospital was helped my loved one with in a matter of days this is by far one of the best hospitals he has been to! Thank you the kindred hospital for everything you guys do with all the hard work and caring about you’re patients we can’t thank you enough!!

This isn't the 1st time I've had a friend or family member receive medical attention here. This facility is not the place you want your loved one to reside. The care from some is at best par. The Doctor on staff has zero credability in acute care. I would link credentials but dont dont want to disparage more than necessary. Do your do diligance people. If you truly care about the person you are considering admitting to this facility then heed the multitude of warnings in the reviews. Its easy to make a fake account and post 5 star reviews.. but the bad reviews have hit the nail on the head. Be thorough and concise with your choice! May God be with you!

  • Susana Bolin

It's been three years Kindred staff! I was in for blood clots,MSRA, and walking pneumonia, was in st. Luke's for two months coma through April of that year and now finally my life is getting on track. The staff was wonderful, the facility was clean, compassion and true caring were shown at all times, and I had nothing but positive support despite the stupidity that ended me up there, now I'm strong,I recently had bone surgery but still have my leg and am serving and riding my bicycle, I am moving into a kick ass apartment, and I thank every nurse or medical care worker I meet as much as possible,Kindreds rehabilitation support was the true start, thank you.

  • Catherine Raines

This was the best place I could have gone to. I was in room 317 and 217 and just left like 2 days ago. The nurses and techs are the best. I loved all of them not one issue. I thank you beautiful kind hearted ladies from the bottom of my heart. My OTs and PTs very professional and worked hard with me. My Dr's it felt like they knew me and knew what needed to be done for Me. Cleaning grew very respectful of my privacy. My case management team was also kind and caring. And I can't forget my dietary/menu lady. She always had a smile and made sure I had my parmesean with every meal.Thank you and very recommended...

  • Evelyn Osborn

My own experience with one on one regarding my daugthers recent Trechestomy is rated 7 for DoctorInvolvement with parents. My daughter who is non verbal from.birth couldnt speak for herself.overall the healthteam nurse practioners, some nurses. Respiratory, Doctors lung doctors, etc.didn't show as much concern for updating me as I felt should have been.overall there were a few to mention that went above their duties to have duo & facetime with me and my daugther. Thank you Amy. And nurse Mary, and other nurses for keeping me updated with any changes daily. Thank you again

  • Kathy Mcelhaney

Every one here made me feel at home. The nurses and the staff were very understanding if my situation. The Doctors and staff listen and explained things so I could understand. The social worker's were all very kind and willing to help. I would recommend all of my friends and family to come here. And I would come here before any other hospital. Inna my nurse was very kind and understanding and always asked if I needed anything. DR Goldstien Dr Lillig and Erica they were all very kind and willing to help and asked if I needed anything extra.and I will miss everyone.

  • Gentry Williams

Worse place to bring an elderly. My dad died in their care. They promised he will be well taken care of. Visited him every week behind a glass. Blood all over his neck every time we visit him. Little did nurses know. My dad knows sign language because my youngest brother is deaf. My dad told us he is being treated bad, nurses hardly attend to his needs and the worst hospital. Worst ever. Wish I could bring him back! Read the reviews before coming here. The good reviews is for the employees that's no longer there. The ones now I'd just full of shyt. Beware.

  • Ambra Morris

My mom was sent to Kindred for recovery after having covid 19. She came to Kindred with a trach and stomach tube and they treated her so good that she actually had the trach removed just days after being here. We were originally told it would be a few weeks before she was ready but due to the wonderful care it was just a matter of days. No matter what staff was there she got the same consistent care. Just a wonderful safe place to have your family members and only have to worry about them getting better and not worry about the type of care they receive.

  • Katrina Evans

The dietary manager is non professional petty not Trustworthy and shows favoritism. He will hire someone in your place behind your back and we'll let you go once they are official employee. I have never been kicked down feel low and worthless in my life. Within six months there has been three different managers. One of them should have stayed but the other two which were men is and were non-professional. Some of the staff was awesome I have loved working with them. As a manager there should never be a point to where there is favoritism are disrespect.

  • Walt Lobmeyer

Wife spent 5 weeks in their care. The staff, from the CEO to the maintenance and cleaning team became like an extended family. They cared. They listened. They shared challenges and worked on solutions. Too many people to thank them all, but want to mention Brianna, Inna, Sarah, Laura, Brian, Steve, Kennedy, Pak, Terry (both of them), Dr's Goldstein, Lillug, LaPietra, and Amy (who called the day after we left to return my lost rosary). There were many more all made it their personal goal to aid recovery and make a tough situation better. Thank you all!

My father was being treated for lung cancer, after months of chemotherapy he baecame frail and weak, that led to a couple falls at home and other incidents that led to hospitilzation. He always wanted to go home prematurely. He was placed in a couple different "skilled" nursing facilities, one in Lee's summit and one in Overland park. Since I've had family members in facilities all over town, I believe Kindred is the best rehabilitation facility in the greater KC area, the nurses and staff are very attentive and address concerns almost immediately.

  • Malia Robinson

My husband had a terrible motorcycle accident. He was in neuroscience ICU in a trauma hospital for over a month. He then went to Kindred Northland. I was so worried about him being transferred. I have never seen so many caring people in one facility. They are just as caring for me as they are my husband. From the front offices to the house cleaning . The doctors, nurses and all therapists have been wonderful. I have no doubt that will have him off the ventilator soon and up and moving. I would recommend Kindred to anyone needing long term care.

  • Todd Hurd

The staff is fun and nice. It took a while for me to grasp the situation I was in. I was angry, confused, and frustrated at suddenly being bedridden in a place I did not know. I literally did not know where I was at. I lashed out at the ever-patient and kind staff. They took my insults and ranting with patience and returned what I dished out with kindness and care; I am grateful that such a place as this exists in the world. It is hard to imagine a team so very populated with true caretakers who truly want what is best for their patients;

  • Ashley Thompson

If it was possible to rate this facility at a zero I would!!! If you care about your loved one DO NOT send them to this so called hospital. My grandfather was referred here after we were told he would get more one on one therapy to help him get stronger. That did not happen at all! We were even afraid to leave him there alone at night. It's a glorified nursing home that they call a hospital! Thank God we got him out of this facility after a week of horrible nursing & doctor care! The aids were the best and most helpful out of anyone.

  • Sherri Swafford

Lack of care is astounding and makes me fearful for family’s after mine. There are so many things I don’t even know where to begin from lack of concern for personal care to dehydration to so much more. After expressing concern to the care manager the situation didn’t get any better and he was rushed to emergency surgery at another hospital. Without a doubt in my mind he wouldn’t have made it another couple of days let alone get any better. Just because a hospital recommends a place doesn’t mean it’s a good one.

While my mother attended here she received the best treatment. Every staff member she encountered treated her with care. I spoke with my mother every other day daily for 2-5 hours at a time ( when my job permitted it ) and each time I would hear the staff members gentling caring for her. I highly recommend this place if you have a love one who need support with eating, walking and breathing. Thank you Kindred Hospital staff for your support, the nurturing spirit that is in this place; it deserve recognition.

  • Fairy Frequency

Husband has quadriplegia and is currently staying at Kindred Hospital Northland. The care he is receiving is outstanding. The staff is absolutely wonderful, treating us like loved family members, and always going above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and cared for. The doctors, nursing staff, and respiratory therapists are some of the best medical professionals we have met within the Kansas City area. We highly recommend Kindred Hospital Northland for your long term acute care needs. Five stars ☆☆☆☆☆

  • Mandy

I just want to say, I really enjoy working here. The staff here really shows up with the heart and attitude that is needed for this field. The staff here exceeds other places. I really like that the staff here goes above and beyond for their patients, as well as one another. Everyone here is treated like family, patients and staff alike. If you’re looking for great care, and compassion from people who really do their jobs because they love it and their patients come to Kindred Northland!

  • Sherri Tabron

This place is unprofessional, neglects patients and family concerns. We recently had a family member here who did not receive proper medical treatment and was not given the proper medical care or medication. After several complaints with the nurses, doctors, practitioners and staff of this facility our family member was non-responsive when the ambulance transported her back to a local hospital in Kansas City. PLEASE DO NOT ALLOW THIS FACILITY TO CARE FOR YOU OR YOUR FAMILY MEMBERS.

  • Carla Gray

I worked in the Environmental Services Department for 8 months and it was the most unprofessional place that I have ever worked in. My supervisor was lazy and very unprofessional. I would never recommend this place for a place of unemployment or a place to take your loved one. The staff is rude and unprofessional and it starts with the CEO, management staff, and works it's way down. I saw and heard some things that should never go on at a hospital.

  • Lisa Heckadon

Amy & Cheryl coordinate Facetime or Zoom sessions with a close relative of those who are hospitalized. They go more than the extra mile to help out. It has been most helpful & appreciated, be it during the time of the covid pandemic when visitors were not allowed, as well as today when one is not able to be there every day during visiting hours. Facetime & Zoom definitely are the next best thing to being there. Many thanks to Amy & Cheryl.

If you truly care about your family member i suggest that you do not send them here. I feel for the nurses as most truly care but they are overworked, overwhelmed, and under appreciated. There icu is pathetic and your chance of surviving are slim if something bad happens. There are 2 doctors for the whole hospital and you have a 50/50 chance of getting screwed. Overall the place is pathetic and you shouldnt gamble with you hospital care.

  • Shelley Hawkins

My Mother In-law is at this facility. Everyone there is amazing! The Nurses are absolutely wonderful & go above & beyond what is required of them. Clean, updated facility. They have a wonderful cafeteria, with delicious food & the prices are not bad at all. They have the best front desk staff, so welcoming & friendly! That’s definitely what your soul needs coming to see a loved one that’s under the weather! I highly recommend them

My wife was recently released from Kindred. We were apprehensive at first but our concerns were quickly alleviated. We found the Staff to be very caring and concerned for her well-being and continued improvement. Due to the nature of her injury we spent a great deal of time with the PT/OT department. They always were very supportive and did a great job talking her through her anxiety so she could get the therapy she needed.

  • Mic Hop

A great place for my grandmother to recover after getting her trach. Especially the nursing staff Breonna, the popsicle nurse and Cherish. The therapists who let me see her limits with standing and how far along she really was in therapy. Dr. Ahmed and staff with meetings. And especially want to thank the sanitation staff Mrs. Teri and Mr. Sammie No covid A greatful grandson M.Hopkins

  • Pam Popp

Everyone at Kindred is amazing. The extra special care given to me during my stay made me very relaxed and pleased. I worked really hard with my OT and PT because they knew what was possible. I was told at the 1st hospital I would have a tougher time to recover. Not the case after I moved to Kindred. I believe my healing time was shorter because of the caring staff at Kindred.

  • Gabbing with Grammee

My daughter was recently hospitalized at Kindred Northland. The care and kindness the of the staff was overwhelming. Everyone from housekeeping, dietary, patient advocate, nurses, CNAs, rehab staff, reception, and case management was five star! Thank you all for your kindness and caring, this is something I will carry in my heart always. We love you guys!❤️ thank you.

  • Connie Jolly

My wife was here for 23 days transferred in from another hospital too receive further care. The Respiratory, PT, OT Kidney team did an awesome job of taking her off the ventilator, off dialysis and made great strides in her mobility. She is now strong enough to handle acute rehab and be home in a couple of weeks. A great bunch to be considered part of our family now.

  • jelena holt

We had an awful experience here and continue to deal with the consequences of their carelessness. The communication is awful and care was bare minimum. When they decided they did not want to care for my kids father any more they sent him to the worst place possible after we told them we found a place that had a bed the next day. Now he is stuck in a terrible place.

  • Nicole Jacobs

There are only a few Ltach's in KC. We chose Kindred Hospital for our son. He received the best care! The nurses and staff are caring, thoughtful, and knowledgeable. He was happy he improved enough to move on to a rehab facility but very sad to leave his wonderful support team at Kindred Hospital. You guys were awesome! Thank you so very much for everything!

  • Doyle Lansdale

Staff are fantastic. Especially Courtney and Dawn. They always bring me laughter and make me feel better about my hospital stay. I wish that I can take them with me. They always make me feel better, gives me encouragement for my future, they always get me what I need. I am better off with knowing them. They listen well and are always willing to help me out.

  • KC Property Cleaning (KC Property Cleaning)

This hospital has a piss poor mask policy. If they're an acute care hospital why is every single staff member unmasked every time I go to make a delivery? This needs to change immediately. I wouldn't want my loved one to be taken care of by someone who refuses to wear a mask. You all should be intelligent enough to figure out that that is dangerous.

  • Stephanie Bennett

The staff has been super friendly and very quick to get me through what I need. Everyone has listened and taken the best amount of care of me. I will be leaving here feeling a million times better. This has been the best and fastest visit of my life. I'm really impressed with the staff, EVERYONE has been amazing. 10/10. Gold stars for everyone.

  • Donna Round

My brother spent time at Kindred Hospital Northland after a serious vehicle accident and weeks in ICU. The staff was always friendly (receptionist learned my name and most times had my name tag ready when I walked in). My brother was able to get strong enough to leave the hospital thanks to the great care at Kindred in a short time.

  • Kim Ames

I really appreciate the care I receive from Liz, Frank, Hope, Sheri, Marlene, and Pat from RRT. I may have missed one I also appreciate care I receive from Jewell, Olya, Chenta, Heather, Jessica, Andrea, Lasonya, and Jessica the CNAs and for the nurses Walter, Sarah, Ami, LaStar, Maddy, Kayla, and there are a couple more in sorry

  • Sha Clanton

Terrible. If I could give it no stars I definitely would. Under staffed, and most of the staff that are present are clearly there for a check. My grandmother's suffered in her final days. We had to argue with staff just for care. I am filing a complaint with the attorney general. Someone needs to look into this place.

  • Janice Altschul

I have appreciated the time that I am spending at Kindred. Everyone that is taking care of me have been so helpful, kind and professional, especially certain nurses and techs. Cherish, Inna, Matheuw and Ben. They go above and beyond for their patients. The hospital is very nice, clean and a nice place to recuperate.

  • Steve Edwards

Excellent place to recover after having surgery at North Kansas City Hospital. Nursing staff is friendly, caring, and very professional. Food service has excellent choices and is diabetic friendly. Just wish they had an expanded physical therapy department so I could get in some exercise during my recovery period.

  • Barbara Guerra

I have been treated very well here. Everyone is so kind and always encouraging me to keep doing the best I can and keep fighting. I want to thank everyone for the kind and great care I am receiving. I would like to add to this that everyone has just continued to take the best of care while I’ve been here

  • Sarah Billington

I am currently residing at kindred this is my first time being here everyone is attentive and on top of their job duties I feel safe here and I know that I'm taking care of from the care team to housekeeping I know that I am being taken care of from top to bottom and they have my best interests at heart

  • Anita Collier

I have had a great experience at Kindred Northland. Everyone has been so kind and caring to me. Elyse always goes above and beyond when taking care of me. She’s very professional and makes you feel like family. Giving lots of encouragement. Therapy staff was wonderful very patient kind and considerate.

  • Donna Bradford

The hospital operations and support staff were all great. What elevates Kindred Northland are the excellent nurses, CNAs, and respiratory therapists. They are extremely competent, responsive to patients’ needs, and proactive when health issues arise. Special praise for two CNAs, Margaret and LaSonya.

  • Candi Turpin

Everyone was very nice and professional with the exception of Dr.Hobson. very rude, unprofessional, hostile. I have serious questions about her mental health. When we asked questions, she was very short, extremely arrogant and rude. If you have a loved one at this facility, stay clear of her.

  • John Still

Facility seems fairly up to date nice clean modern. The nurses are top notch and the aids are the best. The non-medical staff are second to none. My experience at Kindred Hospital was fabulous and I would recommend them to anyone after spending my three and a half weeks under their care.

  • Rick Reyna

I absolutely enjoyed my stay at Kindred while getting wound care on my foot. And recieved the best nurse and staff care ever. I will hate to leave. And Amy for visiting with me. And being here to hold my hand while getting an IV. I highly recommend this hospital to anyone that's care.

  • Michael J. Dijak

Visited the 2nd floor on 08/29/18 at approximately 4:00 PM. Supervisor Melissa and nurses Karissa and Michelle were all super friendly and helpful. I can’t remember the main receptionist’s name but she too was awesome. All of them are doing a great job of representing your facility.

  • Debbie Archer

Would like to compliment my son's CNA Cherish. She is always so cheerful when she comes in. Puts a smile on my son's face. She always is so helpful and always asking if there is anything she can do or get for him. Thank you Cherish for a job well done. enjoys her job you can tell

  • Roger Telker
