My first visit to Seattle, I arrived to be in the city for several days and then to Vancouver. I bought the tickets online and the online process was very easy and fast. I liked the architecture of the building. But everything turned very bad. (On May 7 at 4:45 pm the second bus). When we started to board, my wife told the driver that we were a group of 6 and if we could please travel on the same bus. The driver yelled at my wife and told her why she didn’t told him earlier. She replied … I was telling you. The driver whose name we never knew (he was tall, white, thin, about 60 years old with white hair) said that we should just meet them (the rest of the group) in Vancouver and he add “you go in the bus im telling you and that's it.” When we proceeded to board, a person began to vomit and we had to get out, the driver began to yell "what are they doing" for us to get on the bus quickly. We tried to explain to him but he wouldn't stop yelling “get on the bus”. The other driver explained and said well, “go to the other bus”. He started yelling at two elderly (oriental) people to go ahead and get on the other bus. He said let's move on because we're late. Another of the passengers opened the compartment where the suitcases go because the driver kept yelling "move forward" so we began to put the suitcases in. The same driver began to yell “what #%€£l& they do and closed the luggage compartment with force. It was an experience that overshadowed our time in Seattle. It would be good if they explained what the process is like to someone who has never taken this type of service. And also tell employees to learn to listen. So because of this unpleasant experience, this is my review. One star and thats because the on line process was very smooth.

It is an amazing building! But the service is not that amazing. I am a foreigner, a visitor who doesn't know how things work here. I bought my ticket at the station and ask for a recommendation to get something to eat or have a small walk before the train would depart. The guy did tell me where the near hotel was. But didn't mention that there is an amazing corner with a beautiful waterfall two blocks away. And when I asked what could I do with my suitcase he told me I could take it with me. I then asked if it was a safe neighborhood or if it would be best for me to leave it in the station if it was possible. He told me I had to pay 10 usd for the storage of one hour instead of letting me know I could check in already and leave my luggage already set for the journey. When I came back to get my luggage back to procede to the check in I told him very excited of the discovery of the waterfall and the amazing coffee shop just across the street of that place. He replied with a bored face, yeah I know. Whaaaaat? Then why didn't he suggested me to go when I asked? I had to make a connection in another station, and in the other station the lady told me the marvels of the check in luggage to be able to go for a walk before the train departs. So... This guy is not committed to provide a service as marvelous as the station where he works. This is a bad experience. Within the station. But a beautiful one in its suroundings.

Cool looking building. Mediocre customer-facing staff. God awful access. Want to walk into the station from the regular street level? Nope, can't do it. Have to walk down and around the the dead-end alleyway where taxis and ubers cut each other off and nearly run over pedestrians and cyclists going to/from the station. Or walk all the way around to a small opening to cross the train tracks then go down stairs. And finally walk back towards building. Terrible job with access to this place. And also, Sadly, rarely do amtrak trains come close to operating on time and wifi is atrociously slow. So business travelers just can't use Amtrak from here. Tried on two rt trips, separately, traveling to Portland OR and Vancouver BC. Return journey from Portland was twice delayed with last minute notice then changed to a bus with no notification just happen to notice bus because I walked outside station) , arriving back in Seattle with 2 hrs delay. Outbound from Seattle to Vancouver was delayed nearly 2 hrs (on a 4 hr scheduled trip) for freight rail in Canada then waited outdoors in sub freezing for Canadian customs ( dinner passengers up to 20 mins). Internet with sub 200 Kbps download speeds. Yeah...no.

It is a nice looking station - all the gates are in the same place so very easy to navigate. The Embassy Suites is literally next door so a great place to stay if you want to be close. You can check luggage like an airplane ahead of time. If you are going to Canada, the baggage attendant will not mention it, but you then need to go to the Info Desk in the Gate area and have your passport checked. Do this well before (at least 30 min) your train. The line also queues early and they start boarding a good 15 minutes before train time, so if you are going to Canada and want a seat on the west side of the train for views, I would start queuing at least 30 minutes ahead of time. From Seattle King Street station (can’t speak to other stations), you will board the train on the west side, so that’s the side you want to sit. Otherwise, there is really not much view. Keep in mind, one train car seats face north, and the next train car seats face south. So if you don’t want to ride backwards, pick the car facing north (seats facing to your left as you board the train. The 4 rating reflects the attitude of several of the employees-not awful but not friendly.

God awful staff. They keep all the main entrance doors locked with signage to walk around the whole station with conflicting directions and the staff stands inside the doors and just watch you run around trying to figure out all the handmade signs. This happened to me and they were laughing until one lady took pity and let me in and I wheezed up to the boarding line 2 minutes before departure and I was told I could not board and had to take the next train. Maybe if the main entrance wasn't locked I would have so late? Or maybe if the staff let me through? Or how about considering how often Amtrak is late, they could've let me board 2 minutes BEFORE departure like decent people. They enjoy messing with customers here - AVOID IF POSSIBLE. I was able to get a comfy greyhound back home to Oregon at a cheaper price within the next couple hours.

I've ridden in and out of here quite a few times back and forth to Montana. It is a spectacular building which sees probably thousands of people come through it everyday. They have the old style wooden pew seating all throughout. It has a very high ceiling with fans that I usually see running. They seat you according to your train out making things helpful to the passengers. Vending machines. It appears to be pretty safe as I saw security all over the place. They mostly ignore everybody and go about their business probably looking for drug traffickers and human traffickers. It's a bummer being up all night and most of the day when your catching out then having your train being announced one hour late then two hours late and then after even later. All in all I think Seattle train station is awesome.

One of my favorite amtrack stations . Train & bus Connections to go to the south ,east USA ,and north to Canada Vancouver from here at this station . Ive been a regular traveler here for many years using this station . i got pictures of the carry on baggage policy with the detailed information . There are washrooms here and food snacks vending machines . There are taxi cars . ,zip cars ,scooters , metro public transportation services out front of the station . There are also hotels & restaurants across and outside around the station. And the football stadium home of the Seattle Seahawks is right next door to here . The cruise ship terminal is in the north east in interbay , Seattle its also not far from here a short car away from here .

This is a great way to travel. Ok, a little slow, but fun and always an adventure. This beautiful older station, Seattle King Street Station, is actually located in the city center of Seattle, almost right down town on Jackson Street, just off of 2nd. and very close to the stadium. Some say the snack bar on board is a bit expensive, just rembember what it takes for them to supply and to prepare your food on a moving train. A cup of coffee is about $2.25 and a pretty good sandwich is around $7.50. There is a variety of additional food items. There is also a very nice dining room with regularly scheduled meal service. As someone who lives almost as south as Kent and needs to get up to Montlake everyday, the sounder is definitely a time and money saver, but oh my god, how long will it take sound transit to build a tunnel or bridge going across 4th ave. in the 5 minutes you’re waiting for the light to turn red and you can cross, several people (including myself) just opt to jaywalk in order to MAYBE catch the light rail from international district. Seriously even if they made 4th ave a bus only road, or at least even had more synchronized pedestrian lights when the sounder trains arrive. Would greatly enhance the arrival from the station.

Built in 1906, the architecture is fantastic. That is where the awesome ends. As I stand here, I see one bottle of water in one vending machine and in the only other vending machine I see Teo bags of M&M's. Bring food if you have any kind of wait and your own snacks & drinks if you have children. It is currently 20° outside. The building is not heated. Heat rises and the ceiling is very high. The 3 stars given were not due to the stations many amenities, comfort or private lounge (that is not) here, it was for the beautiful building. Beautiful station clean and well maintained. We arrived here and the walk was not that far from the train. This is my first step in Seattle and I am already impressed. This place is my first impression in Seattle and it is good. Coming from LA Union Station I like the Seattle station better the staff are nice and the security is very helpful. Only Amtrak passengers are allowed inside the station. I felt much safer here. The pickup and drop off area is close by the front of the station. There are no shops or food for sale so prepare early before you come. All in all this is a really good station.

Horrible service, impatient drivers (they left us and refused to turn around to pick my family up). We missed the van out front by two minutes, yet had been waiting for 2 hours at the station. There was no announcement or information that our van had arrived. Absolutely zero customer service and the employees were recommending that we take a bus and fairy to certain locations, I double checked the locations and fairy's don't even go to The places they stated. We would have been even more screwed. I hope you reply with a way for me to contact you so you can attempt to make this right. Thanks

This is a classic old school city train station with a beautiful tiled interior done in white, gold and green. It reasonable clean and very well maintained otherwise. The Amtrak staff were friendly and efficient and everything was right on time. If you’re in Seattle and want to visit some of the real landmarks of the old city, you shouldn’t miss King Street Station. Despite its size in lays in the shadows of both the baseball and football mega stadiums. The area just south of the station is now home to many studios, galleries and restaurants. So many great places to explore!

My friend booked a ticket online, on there she added 3 cats it allowed her to pay and book her ticket. Her tickets even has the cats on it.MY friend has service animal papers for the cats. She got to the train station and they decline her she showed the lady the paper and the rude lady didn't even look she kept saying she won't do it. Then they told my friend her bags were to big. My friend have pictures of others getting on with really big bags. The fact Google says y'all allow cats. This sounds like it was a discrimination issue. Y'all wrong for this! Terrible company.

Trip: Traveling from Seattle to Vancouver I highly recommend taking the road or in this case track less traveled. The scenery along the way is beautiful and relaxing. Although the times are not that accommodating I would recommend the evening trip over the morning. It will give you a little more time to spend in Seattle and not deal with the morning rush. I definitely recommend bringing snacks although Amtrak does provide snacks for a fee on board the food isn't that great. Pack snacks, beverages, and enjoy the ride. Yes, they do have wifi on board.

Really beautiful space post-renovation. Everything is very clean and bright. Seating is uncomfortable as it has always been and there's nary an outlet in sight - sorry inconvenient, especially as trains and busses are often late (our northbound Amtrak bus was delayed for 2 hours, in part due to awaiting an arriving train). While track and weather issues are certainly beyond the company's control, Amtrak Mount want to consider making waiting time and space as comfortable as possible for its customers.

Arrived at King Street Station around 8:30pm on a Saturday night after a very long train ride from LA. The station was clean, fairly empty, and seemed safe enough. There is easy access out to the pickup area on King Street or up the stairs to Jackson. I recommend getting picked up at the former. There was a reasonably strong police presence around the station but it was a quiet night in these COVID times. As always (for now), face masks must be worn while in station. Olympic Otter

The station looks nice even decorations were during winter holidays. But absolutely lack of services. The area is already very isolated from town and specially when you come very early/late for your departure you can't even get food anywhere. I had to buy water from vending machine, no food tho. Trains are old and even if you are business class it doesn't help much. Armrests are broken and food selection on train absolutely disgusting.

INFORMATION attendant is not very informative. He is only focused on his videocall while working. I asked if to confirm about the departure of the Amtrak Cascades (train), his reply was that it's all bus that is currently operating. So I showed my ticket. He then referred me to the tickileting booth. What's the point of an unhelpful information attendant that more keen to videocall than serve the customers?

The station is beautiful, but Amtrak, you need to train your station staff in customer service. It was appalling. I can't believe how they treat people, talking down to adults like they're little children, just for asking a question. The staff also need an announcement system that can be heard by all people in the station. People were asking questions because they couldn't hear what they were saying.

First time visitor to Seattle with wife and grandkids. Noticed an information desk at the station and asked the girl behind the desk "how do we get to the Seattle Aquarium?" She didn't know which I thought interesting. We found it so no big deal but one would think someone behind the information desk would have known. Nice station and OK train ride to Seattle from Portland and back on same day.

Help and efficient staff. Drop-off area outside. There are vending machines inside the station, but there isn't a cafe inside. There aren't any cafes around if you want something quick for the morning. Very pretty station inside. Clean. Plenty of bathrooms. Only ticketed passengers can wait inside the station. Need at least an hour to check bags, check tickets, and board.

This big station was lively with people waiting for buses and trains. Staff were also attentive. I asked for luggage storage service, and they kept my luggage well. The waiting hall and the restrooms were clean. There's an Amtrak trains running to Canada, although when I visited, I had to take a replacement bus since that Amtrak route was temporarily out of service.

Thank You, King Street Station for your assistance with Homeless by installing porta-potties & portable non-potable water supplying the outdoor sink for us to get clean. Potable Water Drinking Fountain being added there would be awesome. DESC on the 500-block of Third Avenue may still be Best-Of-Breed for Downtown Seattle Homeless & Mental Health Issues Support

For my first ever trip to Canada, I opted for Amtrak bus service from Seattle to Vancouver and Train service while coming back. King street is a historic station built long ago. It's old built is very well maintained from both outside and inside. Interior is well decorated and well maintained. It takes around two hours by bus to reach Canadian border.

Amtrak cancelled our return trip to Seattle and offered the earliest available rebooking more than a week later, leaving us stranded in rural Montana. When speaking with a service agent after spending 45min on hold, the agent disconnected the call when claiming to look for alternatives. Any airline offering this type of service would long be bankrupt.

The customer service was OUTSTANDING!! The security at the Station when got there he helped with my luggage to the Express bus and it was a few blocks away. The train from Whitefish to Washington was quite late and the Amtrak crew did the best to help with food & drink accommodations for free with the best they could!! BEST WAY POSSIBLE TO TRAVEL!!

A nice station situated near the center of Seattle. I arrived here after my trainride from Vancouver, BC with the Amtrak train. The station has a beautiful interior made of (a kind of) marble. It has good washrooms in place and is clean. The only downside is that the station looks a bit confined and is therefore somewhat confusing.

The station’s architecture is ancient and beautiful. The whole station area is clean, safe, and accessible to only passengers. You can buy the tickets either online or at the station. I heard that they would open an art center on the third floor soon. I would love to be back some day to enjoy beautiful views of the station

When my traveling companion and I missed our morning train by a few minutes, Deena at the Amtrak desk was an absolute godsend. She was SO friendly, walked us step by step booking another train, gave us restaurant suggestions for the area, helped us store our luggage, and helped turn around a stressful morning. So grateful!

The king street station is not only historical importance but it is beautiful architecture. Easy access to the station whether you are parking nearby or taking other public transportation. The Ferry terminals are very close. Amtrak is notoriously off schedule so call ahead. The Washington State Ferry tends to be on time.

Took the 516 up to Vancouver, the staff on the train were excellent! I really appreciated how they provided regular updates/clarifications on the loudspeaker and walked through the cars offering to answer any questions. Overall taking the train was a wonderful, convenient experience and I would 100% recommend it!

We left from this train station on our 36 hour journey to LA. Beautiful, old fashioned style train station that’s a very easy to use very clean even the bathrooms are covered in white marble..Looks like something out of an old movie. Very great central location. The staff were very friendly as well.

Like all of the main terminal Amtrak Stations...really awesome old school architecture. Quiet, clean, relaxing way to travel from Seattle to Portland or many other destinations! Try the family sleeper car to Los Angeles or Chicago! Totally awesome, fun trip with beautiful rail line scenery.

King Street Station is a nice Amtrak station. It has cool marble, classic furnishings, and is spacious enough for crowds. It also has good access to local transit. The only problem I have is that the dead-end road in front leads to frequent taxi and Uber traffic jams when trains arrive.

Bus drivers are late, does nothing as far as information. Let's people smoke drugs on the bus and then kicks people off for trying to stop drug use on a public bus. King Street station closes for a hr a your screwed if it's crunch time because everybody is on lunch at the same time.

We took the train from Seattle to Vancouver BC early morning, Friday. We got our luggage checked easily and the staff there was very nice and helpful. The boarding process was also efficient (surprisingly) and our train was actually on time (surprisingly, again).

It is a beautiful building with exquisite architecture. Very ornate and open and spacious. The inside of the building is more ornate than the outside. The employees are very friendly and helpful. We took the Amtrak Cascades train and the fee was reasonable.

I lived in Seattle through all those years of bad 70's drop ceiling and decade of renovation so I for one am so happy to see King Street Station back to it's original glory. The space itself it so beautifully done now.

It is a good looking and clean place to wait for your thruway bus or Amtrak train. Could not find an obvious place for breakfast at 8am in the morning (but I also didn’t look very hard). Staff were polite and helpful.

Never saw one employee but was still able to navaigate to another station that was equally as helpful.. travelers beware.. map it out make calls and do your research before attempting navagation through seattle...

Love the train station here, my first trip from station here was back in 40's. On occaision we pick up family members there who arrive from back east. Beautiful inside station and sure brings back memories.

One of my favorite buildings. Convenient Amtrak connection in the heart of Seattle. Easy to find cabs. The architecture is stunningly beautiful. I would check it out even if not travelling by train.

This is one of my favorite places. First: have you seen the ceilings? Literally, so lovely. Second: despite being in downtown Seattle it is very safe inside and not a bad place wait for a few hours.

A beautiful rail transit station. Easy to jump on and off. Platforms are pretty secure, can’t usually get to them unless you have a ticket or are arriving. As a fan of trains, it’s a haven of fun.

I was impressed. Friendly interaction with 3 staff members, the station itself is beautiful. Train was 30 minutes late and the line was long even at 7:45am on a week day. But no other complaints.

While having a panic attack I was harassed by two staff members for not yet purchasing a ticket and being in the lobby. Who immediately threatened to call amtrak police on me just for crying.

Great looking train station. Very large and spacious. Got there at about 1030pm I think the station closes around this time. Also there were a decent number of pan handlers inside.

Not clean, very old fashioned you should be careful to not felt, on raining skay from everywhere rain published on floor and bay looks you did like you take a shower too …

Nice marbling in the building, and vending machines inside to keep you well fed, but I couldn’t seem to find the business lounge, and the workers told me they didn’t have one.

If you enjoy places with a touch of old ambient but in shape as you are living in those days when the buildings were developed, this is a place to visit. I hope you enjoy it.

They were short staffed during our check in ,so it was a little disorganized, no baggage handlers to accept luggage so the poor ticket agent had to deal with all the mess!

Yes this is a beautiful building. It's really lovely but why is there no metropolitan lounge for Amtrak? There seems to be more than enough room for one in this building.

What a gem of a place this is. Take the train to Portland or Vancouver and enjoy these cities that can be enjoyed totally car-free (with maybe an Uber occasionally)

Excellent train station with attentive employees. Amtrak's Empire Builder in and out of Seattle is incredible with a dining car that mimics any gourmet restaurant.

Amtrak is a JOKE! So antiquated our 4 hour trip turns into an endless 8 hour nightmare. Unreal that this is the best they can do. I will never ride Amtrak again

Process of dropping off bag for check in was easy and signage on where to go was prominent. Plenty of seating in waiting area. Friendly staff.

The Security Guard was Very Aggressive as I was trying to use the restroom after getting off my Greyhound Bus
