Is it wrong to love the dentist? My history with dentists hasn’t been great to say the least. From permanent scarring to having had more teeth out and work done than I can remember, it’s probably no surprise I didn’t like the dentist. A few years ago I went to see Dr Martyn for the first time on a personal recommendation and I can honestly say I walked out thinking ‘Wait, I think I actually just enjoyed going to the dentist?!’ The level of insight and passion for dentistry is reflected on all levels and maybe most surprisingly (to me) this actually usually means “less is more” which I think is an excellent ethos shared by everyone at the clinic! Where other dentists may have extracted teeth or done excessive work, the level of understanding of what exactly is going on has meant that only the work that has to be done is actually done! I really appreciated the thoroughness and explanations given at my recent checkup done by Dr Gavin who again took this approach. Admittedly it had been a while between checkups so I hadn’t seen the new offices. They’ve done a truly wonderful job renovating! Architecturally designed spaces with lots of natural light makes it feel like a Scandinavian designer home or beach house! You can tell a lot of love and thought when into the design! If you already go to Kingston Beach Dental then you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about, and if not and you don’t yet love seeing the dentist, then I hope my review may have encouraged you to check them out!

Hi Team I just wanted to take a moment to thank each and every one of you for your outstanding service. Some months ago I took the plunge and booked in for a long overdue appointment that I knew would result in a fair amount of work and expense. From the moment I walked through the door on that first day my experience has been nothing but A1! Nobody really enjoys going to the dentist but I have to say that you all have an ability to ease the anguish that would normally be associated with such a visit. Special thanks to Martyn for his amazing work! I truly haven’t felt this good about my teeth in many many years! Special mention also to his nurse (sorry I have forgotten her name) and to all the staff in reception who greeted and farewelled me with a warm smile each visit. I would have sent a hamper but I’m broke now!! Haha …. The price you must pay for perfection I guess! Martyn, you should be extremely proud of the staff you have assembled. What an absolutely wonderful experience I had for my first visit at Kingston Beach Dental. I was greeted by a warm and very friendly receptionist and I instantly felt at home and i felt safe. The reception and waiting area is beautiful and has a lovely welcoming vibe, I particularly like the information video with educational resources on all things dental. So awesome to see Dr Justine again, I travelled 55 minutes to have my routine check up because he is the best dentist I have seen. Excellent communication skills he explains everything he is doing, options after diagnosis and future treatment options. He has a very gentle approach and mannerisms and always wears a smile. He is kind and caring I am so glad he is at this practice in Kingston Beach. Everyone I met on my visit was exceptional the dental nurses and the reception staff. I will be recommending this practice it is brilliant ! It is the Best practice, and you really do get the feeling these people care about clients it's more than just a business! I have visited quite a few dentists over the years but none quite like Kingston Beach Dental. This is one very slick operation, with an attractive waiting area and friendly, attentive reception staff. The treatment rooms are very swish, bright and well equipped. The staff are exceptionally friendly and give detailed explanations of what they are doing. A slightly unusual feature of the practice is that most of a (routine) appointment is with a dental hygienist, the dentist coming in only towards the end to discuss any specific issues. I am not a nervous patient but if I were, this is the kind of dentist I'd like to visit! This was my first visit after having changed dentist and I will definitely come back for my check-ups. Inasmuch as a visit to the dentist can be enjoyable, it was really enjoyable. Weird, but true!

I have been abstinent from Dentists for a few years now, probably due to traumatic experiences as a child!. Dr Martin Sweet was recommended to me, and today I plucked up the courage to take that step. As I walked into the practice, I was met by a peaceful and welcoming atmosphere of carefully chosen design and decor , filled with light and plants. Not the typical clinical dental practice I recall. The staff were warm, efficient and friendly, obviously well trained. I was impressed with the thoroughness of my initial examination, the state of the art technology available at hand and the detailed explanations of what 'work' lies ahead. I felt very reassured and involved in my dental plan and have come away more confident about visiting the dentist than I have in years. Sarah Charlton

I have avoided going to the dentist for several years. i finally made an appointment and was super nervous, but from the very beggining the staff were so lovely and compforting. I get claustrophobic in the dentist chair, but they made me feel it was ok to stop at any stage. My son whose ten has had some bad experiences at the dentist over the years, with them being impatient and generally unfriendly towards kids. But the dentists and staff here were so friendly and great with him, showing him instruments and including him in all the different stages. They put his favourite show on the tv above and from then on he was fine. I feel weve finally found the dentist weve been looking for and will be our families dentist from here on out. couldnt recommened more highly

If you are looking for a dental practice I can wholeheartedly recommend Kingston Beach Dental. I needed an emergency dental appointment and even though I was new patient Felicity scheduled my appointment on the same morning I called in. Dr Ram and his assistant were fantastic. Dr Ram is very caring and gentle in his approach while in the same time knowledgeable , efficient and confident in his work. Kingston Beach Dental practice is modern and yet the whole environment feels very friendly and positive , with the staff genuinely customer and service oriented. Practice manager Chloe even managed to schedule my next appointment later the same day. The whole experience was very pleasant and totally enjoyable. Give them a call , you will not regret it .

Absolutely brilliant! I am terrified of the dentist, which left me neglecting dentist check ups for years plus I am quite embarrassed with how my teeth are. Until I had to have an emergency tooth pulled and forced myself to make an appointment. Kingston Beach Dental is the BEST around!! They made me feel extremely comfortable, looked after me with great care and was VERY professional! They have cured my phobia of the dentist! I’ll be 100% coming back for regular check ups and to get my teeth fixed. If you’re scared or embarrassed, these are the people to see! They’ll make sure you feel safe and happy! I just had my first appointment with Emma and will be having ongoing treatment so I will update this review if need be. First the staff are lovely, welcoming and bubbly. The premises are amazing...like this doesn’t feel like a dentist office. Enough comfortable seating and all very modern interiors feels calming. There is a children section which kept my kids happy for the entire visit. The appointment itself was great. Emma was non assuming and non judgemental a big plus in my books after having multiple dentists talk down to me in condescending tones. She set out multiple plans for me, easily answered all my questions and explained all the procedures. It was an enjoyable experience to be honest. This will become our family dentist.

I just had my first appointment with Kingston Beach Dental, after not going to a dentist for 6+ years. I have a lot of anxiety surrounding dentists, which is due to a previous terrible experience. So I've been dreading this visit ever since I booked it. I had Doctor Emma and Suraj look after me, they listened to and acted caringly towards my concerns. They were so supportive of when I needed to close my mouth and rest for a minute also. They're both clearly in the industry for the right reasons. Also the work they did was top notch. This experience far exceeded any expectations I had. I'll be going back for regular check ups because of the great staff, beautifully clean environment and for how comfortable they made me feel.

Martin Sweet has been our family Dentist for the past 16 years. We have always been impressed by his high level of professionalism, feeling very safe in his care. We have enjoyed his friendly and warm manner and found him very easy to communicate with. He takes time to explain everything and was absolutely fantastic with our daughter when she was little (she's now 20 and still goes to him for her dental care). It was very reassuring when I needed some significant dental treatment during Covid-19 restrictions to know the practice was meticulous with their hygiene. Over the years I have sent a number of friends to Martin and all have stayed with him as their dentist of choice. I strongly recommend this dental practice.

I attended the Practice today. The staff were welcoming and totally professional. The dentist Gavin Kwok kept me informed during the appointment about the potential dental work required, approximate costs, and he showed me the x rays to explain the teeth which might need work. Gavin's style is professional and reassuring. I felt like this practice is not here to fleece you with expensive work in the short term, but value you as a patient and keep you as a long term customer. Integrity is really important in business and I felt very confident today that I have found a great dental practice. This is my first visit to this practice having left a Hobart city practice which I felt was over the top with their pricing.

I called Kingston Beach Dental after 4.30pm after my son had an accident and knocked front tooth. I was a panicked parent. They squeezed me in, not wanting to wait to see him the following day. We arrived and everyone was amazing. Calm, professional, reassuring. No one was annoyed we'd turned up at the end of the day. We felt welcomed, and not at all rushed. Wonderful attentive staff. Lovely check-out proceedure. Beautiful space. We're now all on board as new patients. Never have I had such a lovely healthcare experience. After retiring and relocating from Canberra to Kingston, we have been under the care of Dr Gavin Quek and the team at Kingston Beach Dental (KBD). We have been treated with dignity and respect by all the staff at the practice. Dr Quek's professional expertise and caring approach has provided us both with excellent clinical outcomes and pain free experiences. I can heartily recommend the Kingston Beach Dental Practice to anyone in the community who may be feeling nervous about the prospect of a dental visit. The staff made me feel completely at ease. As a child I had a bad dental experience. Leaving me very anxious and worried about any dental visits over the years. As I had increasing discomfort this week I needed to 'bite the bullet 'and find a dentist. It took a lot of courage for me to initiate this. The first contact I had with Kingston Beach Dental was encouraging and positive. The staff were caring, understanding and non judgemental of my needs. From the wonderful warm welcome from the front office staff Chloe and Jill to the lovely clean, modern and comfy premises. Dr Pandey was just lovely, friendly and professional. And then the lovely Hygienist Hannah who took care of me, Hannah was just wonderful, delivered exceptional service, very professional and every step of the procedure was explained carefully and efficiently carried out! It’s not often one can say they had a wonderful time at the dentist! From the friendly, caring and engaging service from Felicity on the phone prior to my appointment, to Jill’s smiling warm greeting on arrival- not to mention the gorgeous interior and ambience inside while you wait. And it doesn’t stop there! My dentist Emma was highly skilled, professional, kind, patient and with a great sense of humour to boot. Her assistant Rachel was also fantastic! My children were warmly welcomed which made it even more of a comfortable experience. Forget 5 stars- Kingston Beach Dental is 10 stars!

I attended Kingston Beach Dental for my first dental appointment at this practice today and it was the best dental experience I have ever had. I have always been someone who has never ‘liked’ going to the dentist, but the team who looked after me, Jade, Gavin, Paige, Bonnie and Felicity all put me at ease and made me feel so comfortable. They went above and beyond to ensure I was looked after. I could not fault the level of service I received. If I could get my teeth cleaned every day, I would!! There’s no one I trust more with my oral health than the team at KBD!! ❤️❤️❤️

Kingston Beach Dental is a very good and well organized dental practice. It is a highly professional and friendly practice. Located at the Kingston shopping Centre, with easy access, a very nice waiting room, and good reception staff. Dentists, and assistants there are excellent and do their best not to cause discomfort to patients. The cost is rather high, more towards high end. The dental work I have had there seems first rate. I would recommend them to younger or older patients alike. Note, it helps if you have dental (e.g. extras) private healthcare insurance.

I’ve been to a few dental practices and had multiple visits, but none has made me feel so comfortable and well looked after. The practice itself is modern, clean and makes you feel relaxed once you take a seat in the patient lounge. The sounds of laughter makes you feel at ease. All the dentists are very friendly, approachable and skilled in their trade. I now enjoy coming in for my 6 month check ups where the dental hygiene department does such thorough cleans and gives me handy and friendly advice on how to look after my teeth! Looking forward to my next visit!

It's hard to love a dentist, and visits to the chair can be cause for nervousness - but Kingston Beach Dental is fabulous, always extremely helpful and friendly and they always take great care. I always feel comfortable and really appreciate the attention to detail and constant assurances about my experience. They always carefully explain what needs to be done, how it will occur and that it will only proceed if I'm feeling fine about it. I also really appreciate the explanations about how the work is done, and what options there are. Really excellent!

Kind, friendly and efficient, as well as very reasonably priced. This practice has looked after my elderly mother in law's teeth, supporting her through a fear of dentists excerbated by dementia. By the completion of her second session with them, she said she wasn't scared about needing to go back. A dear friend of mine with a dentist phobia has great praise for them too. Me? I've got no dentist fears, but I love the clean teeth and perfectly colour matched repairs they've done for me. I recommend them with absolute confidence!

I had an excellent 'first visit'. The admin staff were friendly and efficient: the dentist (Emma) and her fine nurse were very professional and thorough, explaining in detail the situation with my oral catastrophe. A plan with priorities was outlined and questions (many !) were answered fully. So far, I can recommend the Practice as a whole from my observations of equipment and sense of calm and professionalism that is throughout their offices and consultation rooms. I shall return and continue the recommended treatments.

I am not usually a fan of the dentist, however the staff and experience at Kingston Beach Dental was great. I had an emergency appointment to have my wisdom teeth removed and the overall experience was fantastic. I received follow up calls after the appointment to check in on me. All the dentists and staff I came into contact with were more than helpful, sympathetic and amazing. I have definitely found a dentist that understands the past bad experiences I have had with dentists and shares the goals for my oral health.

I have been going to Kingston Beach Dental for 18 months or so and have been very happy with the quality of dental care and patient care. I previously had a very negative experience at another practice which put me off going to any dentist for a decade. Since going to KBD I have seen Dr Grubb and her manner is exemplary. Dr Grubb has kept me clearly informed about procedures and has made me feel comfortable throughout. All the other staff at the practice have also been wonderful to deal with.

Absolutely amazing. My regular dentist is sick so made an appt here. 1. Reception staff lovely. 2. Dentist, Dr Gavin - this man is brilliant. Took so much care, he is a perfectionist and gives almost pain free injections. I am 63 and have had many dentist appts, privately and government, in 4 states, as well as overseas. He is the best and I thank him so much. 3. It is so wonderful that Tasmania has this great practice. It is of the highest standard. 4.. The dental nurse was also fabulous.

I’ve been going to Kingston Beach Dental a while now. I’ve tried all the other dentists in Hobart They are very professional , they listen and the best I’ve been too. if you have a phobia about dentists they’ll make you feel at ease I won’t go now to anybody else I still get nervous going to the dentist but I know they’ll look after my teeth for the best results I’ve had no infections and not severe pain. They are gentle and explain as they are working on your teeth

I have found Kingston Beach Dental to be a most enjoyable and relaxing place to visit. All the staff are very friendly and extremely helpful, at times going out of their way to offer the best available treatment in a very caring manner. The overhead projection of interesting scenery is a wonderful focus during treatment, and it is to my embarrassment that recently during treatment, I actually fell asleep!! The seniors’ discount is also an added bonus.

I highly recommend Kingston Beach Dental. The entire team create a great atmosphere, are very caring and hard working. I have a chronic illness and Multiple Chemical Sensitivities. The staff went above and beyond to order in a special anaesthetic for me, and are always understanding and supportive. I've seen a number of dentists and been very happy with all of them. I enjoy my visits to Kingston Beach Dental! All staff members are always super professional, happy and friendly. We moved from our previous dentist of many years, who we were not unhappy with, but had heard good reviews of Kingston Beach Dental, and the difference between the two is out of sight. From the moment you are greeted, to the explanations and advice and honesty. Upfront about what is in their scope and what needs a specialist. Not just there to make $$ but to give the best dental outcomes. We will be returning clients to KBD.

Best dental surgery I’ve ever attended. My dentist was so gentle when injecting the anaesthetic I didn’t feel any sting. In the consultation time allotted he not only filled a chipped tooth which was the reason for my visit, but also time managed and filled two smaller decays in two other teeth. He regularly asked how I was going with the procedure which made me feel relaxed. I would highly recommend Kingston Beach Dental.

Going to the dentist for people like me is stressful and laden with anxiety. These professionals were brilliant. Bent over backwards to get me an appointment in the first place, then everyone was extremely welcoming and understanding. I had a fantastic experience at Kingston Beach Dental! After a not so good experience at another local dentist a couple of years ago I decided to try somewhere new, and I’m so glad I did. Dr Emma Grubb was kind, gentle and very pleasant. She also explained in Depth the issue I was having and offered preventative measures. The staff were very friendly, the clinic is beautifully presented and very welcoming.

I have always had severe anxiety about going to the dentist, however after a friend recommending I see Dr Grubb I now refuse to go elsewhere. She makes you feel very relaxed and does a gentle but thorough job. The Dental Assistants have always been lovely and make you feel at ease and the reception staff are very welcoming. My first visit to Kingston Beach Dental this morning: I don't think a visit to the dentist will ever be pleasurable but this is as close as it comes. The customer service was first class, the staff were happy, friendly and accommodating, the appointment was on-time and my dentist, Emma, was awesome - first pain-free dental work in years. Almost looking forward to my follow up appointment!

All staff are friendly, welcoming and professional, I am always a nervous patient and they put me at ease immediately. Dentist Gavin was patient and kind and checked I was doing okay throughout the procedure. Dental nurse did a great job reassurring me and explained everything really well. Each visit to Kingston Beach Dental is a professional, enjoyable experience...even with the kids! Their space is beautiful (& exceptionally clean) which calms you as soon as you step in the door. There are many toys & book soft the children which assists enormously. Martyn and his team are all so friendly, professional and informative. We could not recommend more highly.

I was so pleased to get referred to Kingston Beach Dental and have found my new dentist. My son and I went to KBD for our full check up and clean today. Both of us feeling quite anxious. We were extremely well looked after by Rhiannon - the oral health therapist and dental assistant - Charlotte. Both made us feel very much at ease. The atmosphere is very calming.
