First off let me say that this review is LONG overdue! We had to take our German Shepherd, Vader , to be put to rest after a 7 month ordeal with a Tumorous growth in his left upper paw area. We called the Hospital on December 29, 2019 and said it was Emergency, due to Vader deteriorating rapidly the last 3 days of his great life he had with us. The staff stated that they will help us the very next day!! So sad to see the tumor grow larger and larger. One word describes this hospital and staff>> AWESOME!! Dr. Lyndsay Clarke helped us to get through this. She is such a compassionate person. We would like to thank Virgil and Elke that assisted during this difficult time. The Card that was signed by all your staff was such a nice thought. And Thank You for making a Donation on behalf of Vader. The lasting Paw print that you did from Vader was so heart felt. The Cremation Service that was recommended to take care of Vader is called Pets Above LTD. This company went the Extra mile with a Beautiful Urn and a Chained Name Tag. Also, a Death Cremation Certificate was provided, as well. And, the staff signed a Sympathy Card as well. We would not hesitate to recommend this Veterinary Hospital to anyone. We have had numerous vets in the past - none seemed to fit. Each time I email these folks I get an immediate response back from them. Today I called about our cat Stirling- his new little brother nicked him in the eye sometime last night and was having difficulty opening it. I got a call back right away stating that they had a slot available a half an hour away from then- I jumped on the opportunity. These folks are truly a wonderful business. They’ve even done the same for our dog Charlie in the past! In addition to my first review: We recently had to put our Charlie down….he was such a loyal, loving, and amazing best friend I’ve ever had. Kingston west vet were SOOOOO amazing through everything. I don’t know if things would’ve ended up the way they did if it was anywhere else. A couple of weeks went by (we had been driving to and from Trenton and hadn’t been home)- I checked the mail to find a really sweet letter signed by the staff at Kingston west vet and inside the card were prints of Charlie’s paws. They managed to bring a tear to my eyes and made me feel like Charlie could be with us forever by doing this. I hadn’t even asked them to do this! That is a very classy bunch of folks here! You will NOT be disappointed in Kingston West Vet!

I have been attending Kingston West Vet Clinic for a couple of months now. The staff along with Drs. Clarke & Edwards have been amazing with my 2 cats. Professional, courteous, caring, kind and gracious. I think the most important aspect for me is the interaction and dialogue with the members of the clinic. Both Dr Clarke & Dr Edwards took a great deal of time assessing the health of my animals and then spoke with me in great detail about their conclusions. Those conversations were incredibly easy, clear and informative. Never at any time did I feel rushed or dismissed. The day after our visit, the Drs emailed me with test results, detailed explanations and next steps. They invited me to maintain a dialogue until I was comfortable that all issues were resolved. A couple of days later, I was contacted by a Vet technician inquiring about my pet's condition and offered to answer any further questions that I might have. This is second to none customer service as far as I'm concerned - a definite 5 star +. I am very happy with my decision to attend KWVH and highly recommend that you give them a try. You won't be disappointed.

We were recommended to Kingston West by a friend when our last veterinarian moved. They were nice when we called, but I quickly found that when we needed them they were not there for us. Our poodle had been having on-going problems and we took her in for bloodwork. I was quoted around $150. When I got the bill it was over $500. She was put on medication for her pancreas. They said if she gets worst to call and come back in. Within 4 days she detererated to the point of needing to be euthanized. This was on a Sunday. We could not get through on their emergency line. When we called Monday morning we were told that there were no vets working that day and they could not help us. She died that same day. Would not go back. Also the hospital was bought out by a corporation and as a result there is no longer the personalized service you see with owner owned clinics.

We brought my sons pup in having seizures. They were kind, caring, compassionate & professional dealing with her, as well as my 19 yr old son who was very scared for his pup. End result we had to put her down but they were very kind in explaining everything including how she would go. They allowed us time to be with her until my son was ready and allowed us to stay with her as long as we wanted afterwards. They even lit a candle on the main desk saying "someone is saying goodbye to their loved one" I thought it was very touching. They explained cremation and took good care of Alaska from the moment my son carried her in the door! I will never bring my puppers to any other place. Thank you gals! From the bottom of my heart. RIP Alaska, you are loved!

I had to put down my wonderful cat Abbie of 15 1/2 years on December 22nd, the staff was so caring and I could just tell how sympathetic they were. It’s a tough job to do, having to go over the paperwork, and the procedures of euthanasia. They let me say my goodbyes of course, take as long as I wanted. But today January 9th 2023, I checked the mail and I noticed a card. It was from the staff. They wrote a lovely message and gave me Abbie’s paw prints. It was so unexpected and so wonderful. I rarely write reviews but this team goes above and beyond for their clients. Rather it’s the animals or the people. I thank you guys for doing this, and being so thoughtful and caring. It will not be forgotten.

I have been taking my dogs to this clinic for over 3.5years. I like and recommend the clinic, staff and veterinarians overall, I have never had an issue with them and they have always been friendly. The reason I do not give 5 stars is because of the reduction of their working hours starting from November 2022. This will be a hard change for us as my husband and I work during their new business hours and have no family here to help. I understand that there is the emergency clinic, but we would like to see our dog's regular vets instead of taking her to different vets all the time. This may just be an inconvenience for me, but should be something to consider if you are looking for a new vet.

We came to you December 9/19 to have our beloved Behr euthanized... the vet tech helped us get him out of the car and into the exam room, had the room prepared with a blanket for him to lay on, and spoiled him with treats! The staff was very empathetic and truly made the experience more bearable. We also took our two pups Obi and Evie in earlier this month and once again was given exemplary service by your staff!!! I really don't think the experience could have been made better!!! -unless vetting was free! But seriously, even the cost of services was much lower than I had expected... Thank you Kingston West Veterinary Hospital for 2 wonderful experiences!

I have gone to Kingston West Veterinary Hospital 2 times now and both have been amazing experiences. My cat has major anxiety and doesn't do well under stressful circumstances. I knew she might be difficult but my cat reacted worse than I expected. The Vet was fast to determine that it was not safe to administer the vaccines safely. They recommended a drug to help calm her down and rescheduled our visit for the next week. The second visit went so smooth, the doctors and nurses were so great and gentile with my little one and really cared about her health and safety! They made me feel very comfortable and I would highly recommend this vet clinic to anyone!

We went to kingston west veterinary clinic the first time on December 24 2016. Not exactly the plans we had for Christmas eve, but Dr. Shephard and his staff made our visit very pleasant and took great care of our two cats, Dusty and Percy. The care did not stop when we left the clinic, Dr. Shephard emailed me a few times to check on the recovery of our new kitten. Dr. Shephard and his staff showed great care and concern. The office is very clean and comfortable with a great water front. Thank you for seeing us on short notice and a holiday. Super first visit and great new location. Very friendly, knowledgeable staff and veterinarians. Incredibly helpful and compassionate staff, especially with a very nervous/aggressive cat that doesn't like to go to the clinic. Very clean, modern building that is spacious and very accessible. Beautifully located on the water and very convenient to get to-no major rush to turn into busy parking lots etc. Lots of good retail products and foods and staff are eager to help with ordering in anything you would need. Prices are super competitive and lower than some other local clinics. We will definitely be back!

I had a very sad emergency situation where I unfortunately had to have my senior cat put to sleep. It was after regular hours and I was quite emotionally distraught. This vet took me in last minute, treated me and my baby with the upmost respect through the whole process. I had never been there before, but they treated us like family. A week afterwards I received a beautiful handwritten sympathy card signed by the whole staff. They made a very sad situation just a little bit more manageable. I am actually planning to switch to this clinic for all my pets moving forward.

My family and I researched and interviewed numerous vets in the Kingston area and the second time I called Kingston West Veterinarian Hospital I knew I had to check it out. The staff are so pleasant to talk to and they listened and addressed my questions promptly. They showed the utmost care and compassion with our new puppy. Our appointment was not rushed, the vet tech and the vet took their time to get to know our new addition. I would highly recommend them for all of your pets needs, as they are treated like their own. Our puppy cannot wait to see them again.

We were so fortunate to be taken on by this clinic when our regular vet clinic closed suddenly last year. Our experiences here have always been very positive. Dr. Julie Reed is exceptional. She offers clear explanations, multiple options for treatment that don't break the bank, and a clear follow up plan that makes us feel so confident in her. Your animals will be in very caring, capable hands here. Her staff are always friendly, prompt and very knowledgeable. Their communication either by phone or email is top notch. Highly recommend!

Everyone was so friendly with myself and my puppy. I was late and they still saw us, and were very good to us both.. I had my kids on a P.A day and it was a little hectic but everyone was fantastic to us all. I can't express enough how great everyone was. My brother also brought his rescue here, and i cant even tell you the miracle work they've done with his dog. They were fantastic with helping him keep within his budget. The vet herself was absolutely GREAT with him. I can't even express my gratitude ! THANK YOU KINGSTON WEST END !

The team at Kingston West Vet is absolutely incredibly. They are invested in my pets' care and recognize them when we come in. They answer questions, they follow up, and they do it all with a smile. I appreciate the thorough explanations as things happen to my pets, and I never feel pressured to have a service/procedure done that isn't necessary. I also appreciate that I can be given the option to find more cost effective alternatives without guilt. Of all the vets I've used over the years, this is by far the best team I've ever had!

There is a reason even though we have moved that we drive over an hour to still come to this vet! I tried 2 other ones in the Kingston area when I still lived there and none of them compare. They are always so professional and warm and inviting. In the event of an emergency (like we had this week) they are so accommodating and thorough that helped put us at ease knowing our dog was getting the best care possible. Price wise they are comparable to other vets but not on the high end of pricing which is also really nice.

I recently changed vets to Kingston west Veterinary and I could not be happier. Although during Covid restrictions I was unable to go inside the staff made me feel completely comfortable with handing my dog over to them. After the exam and shots the vet called me and was very helpful with answering questions I had, provided me with options and I never felt like I was pushed into anything. I would highly recommend this clinic to anyone who wants a professional and very personal experience for their fur babies.

Great service. Lovely Vets. Unfortunately when it comes to follow up calls, absolutely terrible. I don’t know if it’s a staffing problem but I had to redo shots because I never got a follow up phone call about when to schedule the next set. I did get my next shots complimentary. When my dog got sick, once again there was no follow up on how they were faring after the fact, which is something they said they would do. Never happened. I like the staff and vets but I’m not too impressed by the admin.

We are so grateful to the team at Kingston West Veterinary Hospital. They always make our dog’s visit safe and comfortable for him. He was a bit of a sissy when it comes to getting his nails trimmed and now after a few visits he’s excited to go. The doctors never sell us on treatments or procedures, they provide us with detailed information to help us make our own decisions about Huck’s care. We are confident that they care for our pets and share our love for them.

The staff is excellent. They provide great services but not everyone can afford a 1500 dental surgery. Maybe you all should consider giving your clients, which you are nothing without, the option to pay in installments. To protect your company you could do a direct payment option that would authorize a payment taken directly from the bank account so there is no risk of missing a payment. You need to be more flexible and accommodate your clients needs better.

We have been taking our cats to the hospital for several years now. The staff are well trained, professional, friendly and compassionate. Our Doctor is Sarah Edwards and we can't say enough about her professionalism, kindness and care for our cats. We have two very old cats and we completely trust that their health and welfare is first on her mind. We feel that the prices are very competitive and their hours are good for busy families.

Accommodated an emergency when one of our cats contracted pancreatitis. They fully explained all tests and treatment options and were clear about the costs of each. They called me more than once following through on the effectiveness of the treatment administered. The staff were universally attentive and friendly and the free coffee and tea was very welcome during our wait for Test results and treatment. I was very impressed.

Lovely staff who are always so gentle and caring with our pets. We always feel they take time examining our pets and take the time to thoroughly explain things. We never feel pressured into certain treatments, tests or procedures and they always provide all available options so we can make the best choice for our pets. Staff always make sure they follow up after a visit. So far we really like this place. Very much recommend

Always ready to answer a question about your furbabies, my male rescue just had a neuter done, they strove to make it anxiety free for him, as he has past trauma issues. They take the time to work with your pets needs and personality, to make it as low stress as possible. Our little pretty girl was also spayed at the Bath location, and last summer they removed a couple ticks on different occasions from her, no charge.

Dr. Jason Shepard and his team are absolutely wonderful. Jason has looked after all our dogs for as long as I can remember. Even when I moved away from Kingston, Jason has always been available by email and text to assist with issues, especially as my little girl aged. Absolutely wonderful team of caring, sweet and professional doctors. Thank you Kingston West Veterinary Hospital all the way from southern California!

They are hands down the best vet in town. They are so friendly and helpful. Their prices are so reasonable. They are never judgemental about my choices of what to do/not to do during visits. And they always make sure I don't feel pressured to do anything. I've truly never experienced a vet office quite like this one. I recommend them to everyone. They're amazing, I would honestly never take my pets anywhere else.

Dr Courtney is AMAZING! She’s been so good with my baby boy Fibel and SAVED his life ! Fibel my 3 year old cat has kidney stones and it was heartbreaking to hear as he is very young! If it weren’t for them he wouldn’t be here today and I’m so grateful! They even said he was loving his belly rubs and head scratches LOL They make you feel so comfortable at this vets office! 10/10 always would recommend!

Even though I have moved, I still make the drive from Brockville because Ariel's (my fur-baby) health is the most important thing to me! She is so well taking care of every visit. The Kingston West Veterinary is the best clinic with super staff. Had the pleasure of taking my cat recently for a sedated grooming. She is a tough customer with long matted hair and we were unable to take care of at home. The Kingston West Veterinary were the ONLY clinic in Kingston who would help us, I am sure it was not easy to work on her but she looks amazing!! Thank you so much!!

My puppy has been going here for the past 5 months! I was a bit nervous about not being able to go in with him at first(due to the current pandemic), but I can tell from how excited he is to run in that they have made a great first vet impression on him (: Everyone here is very nice and take the time to explain everything for you. Great team of caring professionals who love my dog (almost) as much as I do :) Loved the building, and felt very welcomed by the staff. Vet was super personable, my dog couldn't give her enough kisses; always a good sign. Found it super convenient that I could buy my food, treats and a toy right at the hospital. The prices for both the food and visit were reasonable.

My dog Miley uses Kingston West and we would go no where else . They treat my dog and myself like family. I have never waited to be seen, booked in immediately when there is a concern and the time is taken to explain care and prevention when needed . Only clinic I will go to for my pet's needs! The Kingston West Veterinary Hospital's staff were very friendly, reassuring and empathetic. The vet, herself, explained the whole consultation, diagnosis and medication directions. From the atmosphere to the prices the whole experience is worth 5 stars. Very friendly and caring staff. I went to pick up my small dog after her long day there..and they brought her out to me in a blanket which is very comforting to small dogs as they shake a lot. They were considerate enough to do that for her. They also are very good at following up and reminding of up coming appointments.

Exceptionally caring vet clinic. Responsive to your pet’s needs, knowledgeable, compassionate and caring. We have a very fearful puppy. The vet and staff have been very understanding and helpful. There insight and advice has helped us better understand the behaviour and ways to help our pup get up and over her hurdles.

We visited the new clinic yesterday with our new puppy, Alice. Dr. Sarah and the other staff that we spoke to were friendly, knowledgeable and eager to help. Our two youngest daughters were along for the visit and Dr. Sarah let our daughter listen to Alice's heart. We'll definitely go back for all our veterinary needs!

Excellent service! We are new to Kingston so had to find a local vet for our fur baby. All of the staff were super friendly and knowledgeable. I especially appreciated the follow up the next day to see how Angus was doing. They even trimmed my squirmy boys nails for me. I’m extremely happy with our choice of pet care.

Wow, what a beautiful facility! We recently had an emergency visit with our family dog, Chopper, and the staff was so caring and understanding! Treats our two husky mutts like they are the most important dogs in the world. Have had several quick visits where we weren't charged, like when they check one of the dogs eyes nearly got his eye poked out by a branch. Medication prices could be better but they are a vet so I can't blame them too much.

The Veterinarians and staff at the Kingston West Veterinary Hospital are excellent. We have been taking our chocolate lab there for 3 years. The annual examinations are very thorough and all our questions are fully answered. The staff at the hospital are very pleasant, and our dog loves going there.

Incredibly thankful for this vet clinic and all the staff. They took my cat in last minute when his cancer took a turn for the worst and our usual vet was off and emerg vets were full. They were so supportive and had so much empathy for me crying like a baby the two times they have ever met me.

Always a great experience when I bring my cats in! They always give you a heads up about what to expect in the coming years. They said my cat should get a dental cleaning in a year or two, therefore I had lots of time to prepare. Always very nice and helpful :)

we bring both of our dogs here and each time we've had to the staff have been very kind and knowledgeable. the vets are great and gentle with our nervous/tricky dogs. prices aren't too bad and they don't really pressure you to do more than what is required.

Vey kind and knowledgeable. We have been dealing with them for some time now. They took great care with our Emmie. They were able to get her in for her mouth surgery fairly quickly. They did a great job, Emmie was back to herself within a couple days.

My dog is 12 . On Friday I saw a lump between his eyes that turned out to be a tic. Called this clinic in desperation and they removed it on Saturday , no charge. I was so grateful, had to post this review. So nice of them.
