Fine if you're a white dude, I guess. Two different occasions, both me (a visible minority) and my wife were ignored by those working there so that they could keep talking with their friends. My partner went in to try to order some RPG books and a stack of comics (around a 300+ dollar purchase) and despite waving to the owner, pointed looks and trying to draw the owner's attention, they continued to converse about random nerdiness instead of trying to answer her questions. In my own case, I tried to order some backordered graphic novels and a hot new RPG book and some MTG cards and the people there (the owner/manager) made it seem like it was such a huge inconvenience to make that back order. A huge inconvenience to take my money to pay MSRP on some items even without any sort of discount. This is the general garbage-tier behavior that makes me order from Amazon instead of my local hobby store, because this behavior has always been pervasive in most hobby stores.

This is a traditional comic and game shop. It stocks comics, rpg and collectable card games, board games, game supplies, dice, collectables and more. The staff are friendly and easy to work with. My experience when ordering supplies from them over the phone was an extremely positive one. The store also boasts a gaming table area. They seem very supportive of the local card and rpg community. In short, this is a traditional "local gaming store". If this is your thing, do check them out. Free parking is available.

I have gone to many comic shops in the Ottawa area and Kobold's Corner is one of the better ones. The staff is knowledgeable and provide great customer service. I appreciate the weekly e-mail updates on my subscriptions and help obtaining comics or figures that I'm looking for. They also support various activities in the community like The Geek market and recently sponsored Carleton Places' first Comic-con. They also provide a space for people to play various trading card games.

Oct 4th- I ordered 75 books spending $400 to get the variant for this cover. Everything was said to be okay. Well the dopey guy with glasses(NOT WEARING FACE PROTECTION) tried to B.S on the order saying it wasn't part of the order. Well only to discover my variants are on the shelves to be sold. There's not even any regular covers next to it. You guys stole from my order! On top of that, they had no boxes at all to carry out my 75 books. This place is a joke!

I’m a comic book nerd not some newbie. Ive gone multiple times now, each time the staff are always very rude. We asked if we could ask them about a comic and they repeated no if it’s here it’s here.. without even asking the comic name? They almost never have the dc or marvel comics I’m looking for ( but chapters does..) needless to say not going again. Check the merivale comic book shoppe the staff are awesome!

BRAND NEW CUSTOMER Went in to see about switching my sub here and getting some Xmas presents. Ponytail dude in jogging pants was too busy swearing out loud to himself about having to do work, and in the 20 minutes I was there (alone) never asked me once if I needed or wanted anything, got the feeling he was actively avoiding me or being intentionally rude. Say goodbye to 400$ a month clowns.

I love the selection, and great service, too. I like the staff, they are really nice, and cool, too. They enjoy chatting with the customers, and are really into the common topic there, Magic The Gathering. Singles are mostly standard, unless you ask for a specific set. If you're looking for a good place to buy specific Magic The Gathering stuff, this is the place to go.

  • Spectrum Insights

Always friendly and good service. I teach social & life skills to ASD/ADHD youth. I have taken my students to KC' many times over the years. The teens enjoy shopping and playing a game in the back room. I was in today to pick up a new D&D book, the owner, pointed out a product I was not aware of, it was a "Take my money moment". Great store, highly recommended!

  • Stephen Kidd

I love supporting this local business, especially at Christmas time. These guys are so helpful and knowledgable. I bought an upgraded version of a game and really needed the basic version. Scott inquired when the new ones were coming in and emailed me back the same day. Wolfgang emailed me as soon as they were in and I was able to do the exchange the next day.

  • Leanne Hine

Was kinda meh going in, a decent selection of games, but focus was on comic books. Staff was not engaging and seemed reluctant to answers my questions or help me. Seemed to be more engaged with my male partner even though I was asking questions. Likely won't frequent this location personally, but if you are a comic book enthusiast, it's a good place for you.

  • Vanessa LeBlanc

Good selection of games and we liked being able to consign items but their tech and process could use an upgrade. We could only drop off consignment items and pick up cash from them on one day a week, when the owner was in. It also seemed like there were always issues with the computer system, causing long waits. Everyone was nice though so still happy.

Found a games store in Kanata near Terry Fox and they are great. They carry board games which are my fav but they have comics and all the warhammer style figurines too. They have a big game room with open box games that you can use. The tellers also have promotional stuff for certain games so you may even get free swag on a purchase too!

  • Graberass Adventures

Great place to get anything for table top rpg's. All employees ive met have no problem helping you and encourage hearing what time of game your throwing or going to and will help you out, showing you whats really cool, or whats cheap, great place for anyone who wants all their needs taken care of :) will be dping most of my shopping here

  • Bil White

This is a good nerd store that covers all the bases from comics to boardgames to Dungeons and Dragons. We spent a while going thru the aisles then had a great talk with the guy in charge. It was an enjoyable way to spend some time on a Saturday afternoon. We picked up and expansion that we haven't seen in our area. Nice!

  • Joseph Moore

Guy at the counter said gross when I was buying cards for my wife, and ignored us for his personal conversation before that. RPG selection was limited (though big for the size of the store not dedicated to gaming tables, which are good to see at a hobby store like that). Won't be entering with my family there again

  • Slapnutz is gaming!

We called after hours to see if by chance they were still opened. The clerk said they were closed but that a tourney was happening so we were welcomed to come and shop. They had a nice section of comics... Including .50-1.00$ clearance bins... Spent an hours going through the cheap bins... Will definitely go back!!

  • Matt Erkhart

Fantastic place for any collector, gamer, comic fan, hobbyist, etc. Extremely knowledgeable staff, and there's usually a good bunch of customers on hand for game nights. There's a shared space with gaming tables always open for use... It's basically Cheers but with comics, Dungeons & Dragons, and board games.

  • Ben Lavallee

I was looking to find presents for my secret Santa and had no idea what Warhammer 40k was. The gentleman working the cash took the time to explain what the game was and give me recommendations for what to buy and look out for. I really appreciate him taking the time to do that and to treat me with kindness.

  • Jerry Shuttleworth

Awsome comic book/card/board game store. Great selection, friendly helpful staff, and great pricing. It is easily accessible from Hazeldean Rd. and has ample amount of parking spaces. Great atmosphere I didn't feel cramped or overwhelmed while shopping. Will definitely return to purchase more stuff.

  • Collin Stevenson

I was looking for comics and they had a decent selection with some minor keys available for purchase. Too bad they were priced too high for me. I will stop by another time as im from out of town and just learning the Ottawa comic community. Support your local comic shop!

  • Derek MacKinnon (Crewgar)

Amazing store for board games, comics or wargsmes. Also allow people to meet up and play games for free. Good staff and a pleasant place to spend an evenjng gaming with friends. The owners are also great at allowing groups to book times and run tournaments as well!

  • Moosed Up Gaming

I absolutely love this store, I spend many a Friday night at this store and love the community. The owners are nice and helpful and the people that show up are helpful too. Good prices and a not to competitive attitude makes this my favourite local game store.

  • Danny Bednar

Good selection, but both times I've gone I've been confused by the pricing at the till. Like a lot of comic shops, they don't have itemized receipts...so I'd suggest asking explicitly about the price of anything you're buying (even if it has a price tag).

  • Andy Nelson

Hadn't been to a comic book shop since I was a kid, so wasn't sure what to expect, but the employee was friendly and helpful. Selection is quite broad, but hard to find all the comics from a given current series. Not sure if that's typically how it is.

  • J.P. Brichta

A rather small store that focuses on comics, board games, Magic the Gathering, and Games Workshop models. Nothing really interesting here, but the store was well-lit and the various product lines were well-displayed. Parking is somewhat inconvenient.

  • Andrew Dolan

Really want to like this store, but it seems every time I go in, the people working the counter are more interested in chatting with their friends than serving customers. I guess they don't want my money...

  • David Court

I love Kobold's Corner, it has a great range of games and comics at decent prices. Today they took the time to help me order a hard to find game from the distributor. I really should drop in more often.

  • Zoe

Very good selection of TTRPG books. Dice/accessory selection could be better. The vibes feel ominous. I personally dislike their comic selection, but if you’re really into superheroes you’ll be happy.

  • Franken Stein

Nice people, good products, great service. Over the years my daughters and I have enjoyed many tournaments and friendly gaming with friends. Their staff do their best to help. Thanks!

  • The Iron Gopnik

Very bad business full of Warhammer virgins that'll rob you off your money and pretend to offer you a refund and lie about it to your bank later. Don't spend your money here ever.

  • Christopher LaHaise

Friendly, helpful, and willing to take that extra effort for you. I recommend them for your comic and gaming needs. You can place orders here, sell your old games, or run events.

  • Matt Sully

Good size and selection. They have a gaming area and as much dedicated space to games as they do comics. The staff is helpful and they have some comic boxes dedicated for kids.

  • Daniel Stoneman

Friendly staff with a fair amount of D&D mini's in stock. Lots of 5e books too, although I wish they had some older edition books as well. I stop in whenever I'm in the area.

  • Riley Monaghan

Amazing Pre-Release event for MTG Well organised, great host, and great group of people. Had tournament prizes for no extra fee AND bonus random prizes. Highly recommend!

  • Scott LeBrun

Great comic book shop. I do my subscriptions through this store. They are quite attentive to detail and are often able to anticipate which comic books that I will want.

  • Doug Charlton
