"Surprising visit to this reserve as it's a short drive from city centre"
"Great experience all round but the trail maps can be misinterpreted easily if it's your first time"
"I'm definitely going back for a serious hike"
"Amazing to hike! Trails are well thought off"
"we just love this place, beautiful hikes and scenery"
Surprising visit to this reserve as it's a short drive from city centre. Quiet getaway with multiple hike options available. Paths are clearly marked but can be a slippery at times with rain. Parking lacked security guards but is fenced. Adequate benches and places to break available. Worth another visit. Entrance is r40 per person
Great experience all round but the trail maps can be misinterpreted easily if it's your first time. The Kloof Waterfall trail may seem like the most rewarding at a seemingly short 1,1 km walk, but be warned - the trail involves crossing rivers, navigating sharp rocks as well as steep inclines and declines. Come prepared!
I'm definitely going back for a serious hike. I was with my mom who's over 50 so I could only walk as far as was comfortable for her. I could have stayed in the forest and just admire God's work. It's also very well kept and lady at the entrance was very helpful. A must visit in KZN
Amazing to hike! Trails are well thought off. Make sure to choose the trail thats physically best for you. The end of the hike is always worth it. Amazing views. Beautiful and feel one with nature. Carry mosquitoe repellent as it may be damp at time. Great for an adventure.
we just love this place, beautiful hikes and scenery.waterfall is beautiful. the hikes start from easy to a little bit more harder. kids can also make it for hikes as we have a 4 year old who manages the shorter hikes in the reserve. A must visit for everyone in kzn.
Great trails although the picnic site could do with a bit of maintenance and the plastic bottles and masks should be cleaned up. there is after all an entrance fee. The yellow trail is a bit unsafe for younger children and seniors who are unsteady.
Beautiful hike, one of the best sites around Durban. When the sign says "Sold out" it means that the parking is full but if you can find another spot to park, you can still enter. The price is a bit steep for a small park at R60 per person. More
Absolutely beautiful, many trails to go on, not quite sure which one i went one, I took 2 trails they were stunning, can be a few challenging places, there are 2 waterfalls that i know of which are stunning to take pictures of. Don't forget
Sho! What a place to submerge yourself in nature, and just outside of Durban too! Krantzkloof offers a range of trails and breathtaking views. It’s actually quite crazy to see zebras on the plateau, happily grazing with the city skyline in
Krantzkloof Nature reserve is an idyllic spot, perfect for the family to relax surrounded by nature. The picnic sites are neat and well maintained, with clever knobbled concrete bases to assist with keeping the areas dry. There are several
Whether you're a beginner or an avid hiker, Krantzkloof has an adventure waiting for you. There are various scenic trails to choose from starting at 2km and extending to over 10km. I've been here twice and I can say without a doubt I'll be
I have heard so much about Krantzkloof Nature Reserve and finally got the chance to go hiking there recently. Have tried going before but never managed to get in as only a certain amount of people are allowed in so you need to get there by
Important things to note: only cash accepted as a payment method, (R50 adults & R20 for children) be there before midday to avoid being denied entry, carry extra refreshments, use good hiking boots as the waterfall trail gets slippery due
Stunning nature reserve in a fabulous condition compared to other nature reserves in urban areas around Durban. We saw a wide variety of interesting goggos. We went after a rain in the summer and the mud along the stairs to the bottom of
One of our favourite nature reserves and it never disappoints. There are excellent hiking trails for everyone from short 2km hikes to 10km trails for more experienced hikers. The waterfalls are beautiful and there are great views if the
Pristine nature walks and abundant wild life including birds buck and all kinds of insects. Clean area with no litter. Lovely walks for family and friends. The views are a photographer's dream and the sites and sounds are incredible
Their routes are marked, beautiful views and scenery. If you want to do mustle routes, it's best to have a map which is R20.Entrance is R30 for Adults and R15 for kids under 12 years. Restrooms are also available at the picnic area.
It is a beautiful walk but you must be careful when on the yellow trail. When it rains it get very muddy on the trail and near the waterfall on the lichen covered rocks it can get extremely slippery. You can fall easily. More
Amazing walk to the water falls. Make sure you're physically fit, able to make short climbs on rocks and a sense of location. Deserves 6 stars !! The staff at the site office and people we met on the route were so friendly!!
This place is amazing. The hiking and the falls. The best place to visit when you are in Durban, just set a day aside to visit Krantzkloof, pack your swimsuit if you like because you will want to soak in the falls.
If you want to see the beauty of nature and get a great exercise at the same time. This is the perfect place to do it. Go with your friends or family hiking in its mountainous hills. And take a lot of memories.
Such an amazing hike. Was the perfect distance and level of difficulty for our family. The Krantzkloof team were super helpful in confirming the correct trail for us and the directions we needed to follow. More
Beautiful falls and views. When you want to unwind choose one of the many trails and enjoy great scenery at your own pace. For the difficult trails come with your trekking sticks, they will be handy. Enjoy
Amazing experience! Pristine and scenic nature walks! The hike to the waterfall was slightly long but definitely worth it! 10/10 recommended! A great place to unwind and just take in the beauty of nature!
The trails are beautiful. So good to be in the bush so close to the city. Very disappointed at the state of the picnic area. At a cost of R50 per head surly they can keep the picnic spot attractive
A beautiful nature reserve and recently just opened again after being closed to the public for a few years. This is an important natural asset in the EThekwini area. It has a range of
Amazing hiking venue in the heart of Hillcrest/kloof. Trails range from moderate to difficult depending on what you looking for, seems fairly safe and secure while out on the trails.
Beautiful scenery lovely sounds of birds and insects and the thundering sound of the waterfall. I definitely encourage any one and the veryone to visit the Natural Reserve for a hike.
We did the Forest Trail to the Nkonka Crack from the Nkutu Picnic site. The trail was properly marked. The sites were amazing as always. Many people on the trail so it was safe.
The route we took, was 5 hours. Had lots of fun, nerve wrecking at certain points looking down the kraans, going down the crack was an epic experiencen, waterfall beautiful.
Amazing trails right behind my home in windsor road, from beautiful views to waterfalls and nature trails the are plenty of trails to go on. Definitely worth the visit.
I hiked to Mpiti Falls with my daughter. My car and belongings were secure. Staff at the gate polite and prompt. Trails were well marked. Surroundings beautiful …
Love this place. Great jokes for the whole family, some are for avid hikers, slippery when it's been raining, so wear proper hiking shoes. Breath Taking mountain views
A really gem of a place. Beautiful trails, waterfalls and streams. Gates open at 6, get there early to avoid crowds on the weekend. Cash only for entrance
Amazing hiking trails just outside of Durban, very well kept and very clean, with the trails being frequently maintained. Well well worth the visit. More
Beautiful hiking paths. Fellow hikers are always friendly and the views are gorgeous. Water is clean and waterfalls offer amazing views for a picnic.
Visited on a wet day which I wouldn't recommend, my own mistake. Some very steep climbs down which had a bit of slipping. Very pretty reserve More
Hike was a good workout in beautiful surroundings and after all the rain the waterfalll was in full flood. More
Beautiful views.. But be careful of steep uphills and narrow walk ways along the cliff if a beginner hiker.
