Apart from breeding crocodiles in the park, crocodile eggs are also collected from the Ramganga, Suheli, Girwa and Chambal river banks. When young crocodiles come out of these eggs after artificial hatching at the center, they are fed and looked after till they become capable of defending themselves against other predators. The young crocodiles are then released into the waters of Chambal, River Sharda, Ghaghra, Girwa, Ramganga and Ganges rivers. लखनऊ। टेंडर निरस्त होने के बाद भी कुकरैल फेस-2 पार्क में ठेकेदारों के गुर्गों द्वारा की जा रही अवैध वसूली की जानकारी मिलने पर बीते शनिवार को डीएफओ लखनऊ श्रद्धा यादव ने फेस-2 पार्क का औचक निरीक्षण किया। डीएफओ के पहुंचते ही ठेकेदार के गुर्गे वहां से फरार हो गये। डीएफओ ने कुकरैल के कर्मचारियों को बुलाकर निर्देश दिया कि दोबारा किसी भी प्रकार की अवैध वसूली की शिकायत मिलने पर उनके खिलाफ कार्रवाई की जाएगी। पिकनिक मनाने के लिए विकसित किया गया कुकरैल फेस-2 पार्क प्रेमी युगलों का अस्थायी ठिकाना बन चुका है। एकांत में समय व्यतीत करने के लिए कुकरैल जाने वाले युगलों से ‘‘गोपनीयता’ के बदले प्रति युगल 100 रुपये की वसूली की जाने की सूचना मिली थी। वन विभाग के संरक्षण में यह वसूली लम्बे समय से वाहन स्टैंड पर तैनात लोग कर रहे थे। प्राकृतिक वातावरण में पिकनिक मनाने के लिए वन विभाग ने कुकरैल फेस-2 को विकसित किया था। चारों ओर हरियाली से भरपूर इस पार्क का सौन्दर्यीकरण 1998 में किया गया। इसमें फूल और छायादार पौधे लगाये गये। पार्क में जंगल जलेबी के पौधों को काट-छांटकर उसकी टहनियों से मिनी भूल-भुलैया बनायी गयी। जंगली झाड़ियों से आच्छादित यह पार्क अब इतना बदनाम हो चुका है कि लोगों ने परिवार के साथ यहां आना बंद कर दिया है। एकांत की तलाश में केवल प्रेमी युगल ही इस पार्क में आ रहे हैं। युगलों की सैरगाह बनने के बाद से ही वाहन स्टैंड के लोग गोपनीयता के नाम पर उनसे वसूली करने लगे। वन विभाग ने वाहनों से पार्किग शुल्क के रूप में मोटर साइकिल 10 रुपये, कार 50 रुपये और बस का 100 रुपये निर्धारित किया है। स्टैंड के संचालक ने जंगल में प्रवेश करने के लिए प्रति युगल 100 रुपये निर्धारित कर दिया है। प्रवेश शुल्क अदा करने के बाद ही फेस-2 में प्रवेश की इजाजत देते हैं। शुल्क देने में आनाकानी करने वालों को धमकाकर भगा दिया जाता है। प्रेमी युगलों को देखने के लिए क्षेत्र के अराजक तत्व भी इस पार्क में चोरी छुपे जा रहे हैं। सुनसान और जंगली क्षेत्र होने के कारण इस पार्क में जाने वाली लड़कियों के साथ कभी भी बड़ा हादसा हो सकता है। इस प्रकरण को संज्ञान में लाये जाने पर अवध वन प्रभाग के डीएफओ ने स्टैंड का संचालन करने वाली फर्म को ब्लैक लिस्टेड करते हुए वहां पर वन कर्मचारियों को तैनात कर दिया था।

Kukrail spot is basically a big jungle , it has been devided to phase -1 &2. Phase 2 is incomplete and is completely a jungle. Phase -1 or Gharial park - it's basically a crocodile and alligator fertility centre. - there are some arrangements for public entertainment. Like ground to play, a guest house etc. - it's good for group of people looking for hangout - there is a paid parking area outside gate - opens at 9 am and closes at 5 pm - people normally visit here in morning and evening time or else the mid afternoon is mostly targeted by secret copules. - the forest is good for offroading if you love mountain bike riding. Phase -2 - there is a separate paid parking for it. - there is nothing here to see other than buffalo. - people claim there are wolfs inside it. - nobody other than secret couple visits here. - for couples I will not recommend it as a safe place. - you will not get water even here to drink

Kukrail Reserve Forest is located in Indranagar adjacent to Mayur Residency Extension on picnic spot road. In Uttar Pradesh, crocodiles are found in the Ramganga, Suheli, Girwa and Chambal rivers. The female crocodile lays eggs in April by digging holes on the river banks. The young crocodiles hatch in a period of 60 to 80 days. The idea of setting up a breeding center for the endangered crocodile species came after a study by the International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources, UNO in 1975 which estimated that there were only 300 crocodile left in the open rivers of Uttar Pradesh. The centre at Kukrail came up in the year 1978, which was funded by the Uttar Pradesh forest department in collaboration Ministry of Environment and Forests India. This effort marked the beginning of state government's efforts towards conservation of crocodiles at a time when only 300 of them were left.

If you enjoy nature, come here. Don't expect much about the recreational facilities. There are plenty of Gharial in the hatcheries which you can see through iron nets. If you are lucky, you may spot some allegator & crocodile in the natural pool/river. Staff is rude here so avoid interaction as less as possible.

I recently visited Kukrail Forest and had a great experience. Despite the fact that they were a little short of staff, it was clear that the government has put in a lot of effort to conserve the ghariyal species. I was impressed by their dedication to protecting endangered species and their habitats. The forest itself was beautiful, with plenty of opportunities to hike and explore. The trails were well-maintained and offered stunning views of the surrounding landscape. Overall, I highly recommend a visit to Kukrail Forest. It's a great way to get out in nature and support important conservation efforts at the same time.

Since childhood, I was very curious of this place always wanted to visit and see the crocodiles and experience little bit of wildlife, and recently I visited here and this place is not so good as I expected but it was fine. If you want peace from the citylife you can come here and enjoy with your family and friends, The entry is totally free but you have to pay the parking fee. Must visit the museum to know better about the endangered species.

This is a fun site to observe reptilian fauna. You may be disappointed if you're a big time wildlife explorer, as the park only has a modicum of Crocs, Alligators and just a couple of turtles, but yet, even if you have a slight affinity for animals, the park can be a relaxed weekend stroll. I wouldn't recommend it as a priority if you're visiting Lucknow on a hasty schedule, but it is great for a casual breeze or to feed your animal watching cravings. We have seen the golden days of this park, I remember those good days when we didnt get place to sit here because of crowd..but this time whole park was dead silent..the milk booth where we used to drink JUMPIN drink, lays chips etc , it was like dead shut..also boating used to be there on new year but it was all shut. Felt like crying after looking this park in such a bad shape.. Spent our childhood here so feel so sad..

Dense forest for excursion. Crocodile breeding centre, auditorium and museum. Biggest attraction is a large pond full of giant crocodiles, tortoise and many birds. Children playing area with cafeteria, ample car parking and washrooms.Good place for spending time with family under forest ambience. Love it.

Having such place around is a great pleasure. The place is safe. Huge number of ghadiyal and number of crocodiles and many Variety of birds living around water can be observed in the park. Area is good for conversation with nature. Kids will enjoy more. There is a narsary just before the entrance. It has many Verity of plants and birds. Parking and toilets are available. No availability of public transport but Ola or Uber is available. But there is a problem of canteen. So getting refreshments is little difficult.

There are some ghadiyals inside the cages. There is also a museum where stuffed animals like tiger, wild buffalo, bear etc are put on display. There are many parks where people can have rest and play games. There are a few swings where children’s can enjoy. However please beware of the monkeys . There are many monkeys in that area, they might snatch food items. The authorities should put some signs and make people aware about this.

A good place for naturist and wildlife lovers.aligators are breeded here and one can find many hatcheries with hundreds of baby alligators.Also there a small pond which provides home to big crocs and if you are patient and lucky enough you can see them all sunbathing.Its good for school children for educational purposes and also there a children play area which is not properly maintained though.if the park gets these children swings and slides replaced, it will be very good.

I came here with my family last month...came here in total of 3 in my lifetime A very very interesting place to visit..if you want to see ones you don't even see much in the zoo....the crocodiles and ghariyals.... there are lots and lots and lots of here... And 2 giga crocodiles in the middle lake...I would highly recommend to go see that giga ...in there... Its amazing Situated in d outskirts of lucknow we visited the Kukrail forest reserve on 30 April. The day was overcast making it an ideal day for outdoor visits. Nothing much to see except for the baby Gharials and Crocodiles seen at a distance. But if u want to spend a peacefull time with small kids this reserve forest is good. A little bit more effort in maintainance will improve its desirability a long way.

The park is famous for Gharials and is a rehabilitation center for this endangered species of crocodile. The park also has a small museum for awareness purpose. It's a nice place if you love greenery and you want to spend some time away from city's hustle and bustle. Nature enthusiasts and birders will love this place. People visiting Lucknow for the first time should definitely visit.

This could be one of the best place for a day-out. Lot of crocodiles & alligators are kept here, not only in great number, but also in varios species and sizes. Its an amazing site to see 40-50 crocodiles of same size, sitting in the same posture with their mouth open for 20-30 minutes, without moving a bit!! A must visit place in Lucknow.

Apart from ghariyal and tortoise breeding centre this place has big open lawns /parks with swings and a small canteen. You can bring your own food. Good for family day time outing. Popular with both families and couples. It's a small forest with forest rest house. Recently couple of new things also have been added.

Seems here officers are earning free salary. Many things are broken inside the park and cleaning is missing. Not sure why no action has been taken against irresponsible officers working here ! May be everyone has their own share . Except that , its good to watch so many beautiful alligators .

Only go if you are a government official. Otherwise you have to walk for one kilometre as cars are not allowed for comman people. There is not any eateries for snack. There is one guest House but you need a prior booking. My family didn't enjoyed a single bit and it was a boring trip.

The theme of the crocodile park is very good and informative and the size of park is quite large and having a good vegetation cover.Lot of renovation activities were going on because of which the park looked incomplete and missing some key facilities.

It's a forest range basically with gharial rehab n crocodile pond in the campus. Divided in many phases it's really big in area n good for picnic as well as natural greenery environment in Lucknow. Must visit for nature lovers.

One of the places to go on a conventional picnic. It has nice open spaces to sit and relax. Some crocs enclosure to see them in person. Carry basic stuff as it doesn't fancy eateries. Best time to visit is winter season.

First of all the place was not supposed to be visited during afternoon time. Secondly, the crocodiles are so less that they dont even come out of the water. You can only see alligators and turtles. Maintenance was poor.

Used to be a much better place to see small and large gharial 25-30 years ago when we were kids. Very few exhibits now and gardens are not maintained. Still one of the very few places to see gharials.

It's a beautiful picnic spot with a lot of greenery. Due to COVID pandemic it is partially closed to safeguard Gharials. Best time to visit this place is between October and February.

Very clean and full of interesting birds. There isn't much information on the reptiles housed there and the crocodile enclosures are small and littered with stones thrown by visitors.
