I went in for an alignment after I installed a new suspension (tie rods, shocks etc) myself. Anyway the manager could tell I had changed everything. He quickly told me well your ball joint is bad (it wasn't). As soon as I left here I could feel there was a pull to the right--there wasn't even a pull to the right after I changed the suspension--it was going straight. It has never pulled before. I don't think these people know what they are doing or they are just trying to make money off people who think they will believe anything they say. The fast talking manager isn't the most honest person and you can tell by the way he talks....Amazing the manager's name is Luis and a review a couple down is by a guy named Luis with his face hidden. AFTER I PUT THIS REVIEW UP...THE MANAGER QUICKLY CHANGED HIS REVIEW ADMITTING HE IS THE MANAGER.....He is right we expect good service from a repair facility the issue is this place will rip you off and try to sell you unnecessary services. They don't seem to understand that many people do know their cars and how to work on them. UPDATE: I took my car into Pep Boys because Kwik Kar didn't do my alignment right...and when I spoke to the person who did my alignment I asked him for any issues on my suspension...and he says No everything is perfect...NO bad ball joint no bad anything...unlike what kwik kar said...I even explained that I did my tie rod ends and shocks a few months ago..and the sales man at Pep Boys goes we'll get it done and let you know if there is anything wrong...Pep Boys on Dairy Ashford 5 * this one I wish I could give -1 *. UPDATE 2: THESE GUYS HAVE THE AUDACITY TO BLAME THE VALIDITY OF THE REVIEWER RATHER THAN THEIR OWN manager who put a fake review up until I called him out on it. The manager Luis had a fake review talking about how great they worked on his car then when he saw I called him out on it he changed it. I would never shop here after the experience I had with them. In the 9 months since Pep Boys did my alignment, it has not gone out. There are no pulls...however after this shop did it not only did I get charged an outrageous amount but I had to replace tires because they are incompetent and couldn't do it right the first time! I believed they did the alignment correctly when I left the shop....It clearly was not done correctly and I found out after my tires were wearing unevenly. THE MANAGER, LUIS ALSO SAID UNLESS I CHANGE THE LOWER BALL JOINT...HE WOULD NOT HONOR ANY WARRANTY BECAUSE HE SAID IT WAS BAD. AFTER I TOOK IT TO PEP BOYS I ASKED THEM IS ANYTHING WRONG...They said no everything is perfect...I asked them about the lower ball joint and they said no it is fine. These guys are liars and will quickly blame the reviewer and not their selling practices. REVIEW WAS PLACED A WHILE AGO BUT EDITED accordingly tor respond to your responses. First I was a fake person hiding behind a fake review. Now I am placing a review 1.5 years later even though review has been up forever. You are asking why I am posting a review?? There should be no question as to why I am posting a negative review. The question you guys should be asking is why you tried to scam me and didn't do the job right instead of trying to sell me a 350.00 part and labor job on lower ball joint and the 120 or so I paid for an alignment that wasn't done right. I had to go elsewhere for again within a few months. Pep Boys' alignment is still holding to this day(without the claims of a ball joint replacement)...I WISH I could have said the same for yours...but I can't so here is my review for everyone to read. I've even had the dodge dealer check out my suspension recently just to make sure everything was OK....and a 2nd shop (Autonation Dodge in Katy) has said nothing is wrong with my suspension--you can call them to verify this if you'd like. So 2 shops have said what you guys tried to sell me is wrong.....and you'd still like to know why I am posting the review?? My long story should give you the reason why.

I'm on a road trip across the country when my oil light came on so I decided to take a break from driving and get the oil changed. I decided on going to this Kwik Kar location because of the great Yelp reviews and overall rating. After getting the oil changed and driving off, about 500 miles later, my engine light goes on and tells me that there's too much oil; I stopped at a gas station and checked the dipstick...the level was waaaaay past where it should have been to the point of being ridiculous. This could seriously mess with your engine from what I've read online!!! I ended up having to find a pet store and purchased (aquarium) air tubing to siphon out the oil until it was at the appropriate level...took out about a quart. 2.5 hours of wasted time later, I started back on my road trip and got to my next destination at 1am instead of 10:30pm—Houston to Tucson. FML. Also, $93.61 for an oil change (NOT CHEAP OR COMPETITIVELY PRICED)...and they botched it. Good thing that I didn't do the other services they suggested because who knows what would have happened. That being said, the desk service person was great and efficient, the wait time was short (but maybe too short if they can't be more mindful of what they're doing) and they have a pleasant waiting area: if that’s what’s important to you and not your car—probably should find an honest good mechanic near you and avoid this place unless you want to mess up your car. They're just lucky I'm careful enough to stop and check what's up.

Beware of salesman scare tactics. I went here for a vehicle inspection and the manager, Paul was his name I believe, tried to scare me into having repairs done. Being a mechanic myself I do all of my own maintenance and don't let anyone touch my car unless I absolutely have to (state inspection is one of these rare scenarios). Paul found a drop of power steering fluid leaking under my 15 year old car and tried to tell me my car was a hazard to others on the road. I asked him if the leak was so bad, why is the reservoir still full? He had no answer. His sales pitch continued "this could be very costly if your power steering pump burns up, those things aren't cheap" blah blah blah. If there's one thing I hate it's a mechanic who SCAMS people. When you falsely exaggerate the severity of a problem with a car to un-knowledgeable customers, you are taking advantage of them. Obviously he knew there was no real issue because as soon as he realized I wasn't falling for the sales pressure he told me to go back inside. I'm still laughing at him saying the situation made my car "borderline" fail inspection. The car is either unsafe for road-use or it's not, threatening to fail my inspection so I'll spend more money at your shop is a slap in the face. My blood boils at the thought of my wife going to a place like this and being taken advantage of. I'll never go back here again or let anyone I care about take their vehicles here.

I just moved out here and I called a few different places to see about an oil change. This was actually the only place that answered the phone. They told me I could stop on in and they would be able to assist me. When I arrived everyone was wearing a mask so theyre covid safe! They also were extremely polite and went above and beyond on my tahoe. They explained to me the codes that were popping up on my tahoe and were extremely polite in the explanations because I definitely dont know anything about my car. This place was amazing. I didnt feel like they were just adding more stuff on for money which I know a lot of people feel like that when they take their cars in but this was not the case here! They tell you whats up and theres no tricks or gimmicks. I honestly felt very good about letting them do what needed to be done to my tahoe, which was a lot haha. I recommend this place 10 out of 10. The product knowledge, car knowledge, and overall politeness is outstanding here. Not to mention, the facility is CLEAN. Another thing thats amazing is, i have a kill switch in my car and multiple places have told me no to working on it for fear of ruining it and then my tahoe not starting, they did not say that. They said they could put my.new combination switch in no problem. So 10 out 10 i recommend.

I've been a customer of this shop for over 6 years and today is the last time I'll ever use them. Greedy is an understatement, not only too much mark-up on the parts, labor rate is also high. I made the mistake of placing my trust in them and that'll never happen again. I asked a quote for a radiator replacement, they quoted $340 and I checked O-Reilly's which sold them for $130. I brought a new radiator next day and they told me it fits. I get a call one hour later, and they tell me it's the wrong one. I'm sure it would have worked but they insisted that I pay $425 for labor cost if I decided to put back the old one. I understand they are trying to maximize profit, but there's a fine line between profit and gauging. They definitely lost a customer today and I wouldn't recommend anyone to go to this place.

If you’re questioning where to go, make this your too choice!! My husband and I used this I10 & Eldridge location regularly from 2010-2013. We moved to Richmond late 2013 and now 2021, we still drive to this location because the owner, Managment and mechanical staff are far above other locations. I live closer to another KWIK KAR and chose this location because they value customers and quality service. I’m never pressured by up sales but instead given notification of what may be needed at the next service, given price estimates and brought out to the vehicle and showed what is observed. They have knowledge of my plug in hybrid and my husbands luxury vehicle. They will give you a ride home if you’re work is expected to take a long time. This mechanic actually does good work on vehicles, however I question their honesty. I was quoted for a car repair recently, and the service representative told me it would be $1090. He wanted me to come in the very next day to get the documents signed and the car work done. I told him I wanted to shop around and compare prices. When he heard that and saw me walking away, he said that he actually will be able to do it for $750. So I said ok, and still walked out. I went to another mechanic, and at the very first quote, he gave me a price of $750. Same as the Kwik Kars second quote. The service representative at Kwik Kar was trying to make some extra cash. Be careful as you do business with this specific kwik Kar. Shop around first.

The guys are so helpful and friendly. I recently relocated to Houston and the Energy Corridor area. It was time for me to get Texas registration and plates. I went here to get my inspection. They were fast and affordable but they went above and beyond by letting me come back after to put my tag and plates on my car. I'm from Michigan so we don't have to do the front plate, so I had to order a bracket. When I went back they remembered me and promptly installed my front license plate. It's not often people or places of business do things like this because we all know "time is money". So the least I could do is write this review letting everyone know how much I appreciate the staff at Kwik. Thanks again guys!

If I could rate 0 stars I would. DO NOT!!! I REPEAT DO NOT COME HERE!!!! I came here to get an oil change and they stripped my drain plug. I was not able to get an oil change anywhere. Everywhere I went stated the place to do it stripped the plug. I explained this to them and the front desk lady proceeds to screaming at me that not only do I need pay for a new oil change but I also need to pay to replace the drain plug. I'm livid! As a young woman I already hate being taken advantage of in the car industry but this lady literally tried to make a mockery out of me. I WILL NEVER PATRONAGE A BUSINESS LIKE THIS WHO I'VE SUPPORTED FOR YEARS THAT WILL TAKE ADVANTAGE OF PEOPLE AND NOT THINK TWICE ABOUT.

Me and my friend went to two different place very early this morning looking for coolant. Couldn’t find it anywhere, and kwik Kat wasn’t open yet. However, one of the gentleman happen to be here, so we came to ask if we could buy some coolant. He asked if we could wait for the manager to get here, because he didn’t know the pricing. He was so kind to allow us to wait inside even tho it was 20-15ish minutes before opening. Manager gets here and helped us out to the point where he helped us put it in the truck. He’s so kind and a very honest mechanic, and wouldn’t go anywhere else next time! Car is no longer over heating btw. Would very much recommend to others!

They were very quick and friendly, hence the two stars. They however do not know very much about vehicle inspection laws in Texas. I was charged for emissions even though I am in a no emissions county. When I pointed this out to the guy working there, he argued that there were only a couple of no emissions counties and they were "out near El Paso". I thought maybe I was mistaken so I left, paying more than I should have. I haven't gone back to ask about a refund. I don't even know if it's worth trying. Anyway, I will not be coming here again, which is unfortunate as it is close to my work and fast. (I did arrive at about 10:40 though.)

If you are looking for an oil change this place is fast and cheap. It cost me $29 to get my oil changed and the tires rotated. However, everything else was expensive and the manager tries to talk you into buying things you don't need at expensive prices. I ended up paying $50 for an airfilter which retails at $15-$20 and takes all of 5 seconds to install. I was also quoted $229 to change my transmission oil. Luckily I didn't fall for this. The fluid itself cost $40-$60 and I have already been quoted $100 to change it by another shop. BEWARE if you need anything else besides an oil change and if you don't know much about cars.

I visited Kwik Kar a few times over the past 2 years, all with good experiences. However, I recently took my car for a State Inspection and the salesman tried using multiple scare tactics to sell me on a new battery ($250) due to corrosion, explaining the battery could explode at any minute while driving with my kids in the car. He said this multiple times. I almost fell for it, luckily I did not. The battery was still under warranty with AAA so I had AAA service the battery the same night. AAA said the battery is in perfect condition and cleaned the corrosion while explaining how I can do it myself moving forward.

I want to everyone at Kwik Kar for all of their hard work in helping me with my car issues. Mr. Sam and everyone on his team were very professional and knowledgeable. I drive a 2008 car and they treated it as if it were a 2020. I really appreciated all the care they took in checking every possible thing that may have gone wrong with my car. Once they found the problem they took the time to explain it to me and gave me tips on how to prevent future issues. These are just good hardworking and HONEST People. I really consider them my car family and thank them from the bottom of my heart.

Really great people. It's hard to find people you can trust. I had one place changing my oil for nearly two years and they NEVER changed my oil filter, but charged me for it!! The filter (when finally changed by my dad) still had the mileage written on it from when I bought the car! The people here are nice and you know you can trust a place when they don't recommend something like an air filter change every single visit like other places. I trust them and that's what counts. Plus they vacuumed my floor mats and checked my tire pressure.. :))

This place is absolutely amazing! Honest people, high quality work, and always reliable. Any time I have a problem or it's time for maintenance, I come here. Even though it's a little out of the way, it is more than worth it! The owners really care about the service you get, and are very present and knowledgeable. They are very understanding and helpful too, I never came away not understanding what's going on, and they have always been fair in their charging too. I brought my car in as an emergency when the air conditioning went out. Their team jumped on it as fast as they could and kept me up to date on everything. They searched all over Houston for parts to help me get out of town the next day. They had a shuttle service that was super courteous and helpful as well! The issue ended up being a manufacturer's issue that I had to take to the dealership and this team charged me nothing since they couldn't fix it! Amazing, honest team here - will definitely be going back if any other issues arise.

Very fast and clean service. Place is clean and we'll kept. Prices on board inside office are decieving. Showed regular oil change $29. Synthetic oil was $59. I usually pay $75 for synthetic so I jumped on this. They charged me the $29 for oil change plus the $59 up charge for synthetic plus $12.99 for filter plus an $11.50 labor fee and a $3 disposal fee. I didn't say nothing. I paid the ticked and chalked this one up as a lesson learned the hard way. I'll go back to the old place for a lot less money and honest prices.

Fast, friendly service. I went in for a state inspection and decided to get a brake inspection done at the same time. Good thing I did, because while I passed the state inspection my brakes weren't so good. Kwik Kar explained the issue and recommended I get them replaced but didn't try to pressure me into it, giving me time to think about how much work I wanted done and set up an appointment at my own pace. I do plan to have them replace my brakes and am expecting excellent service given what I've seen so far.

This was my first time coming here, I’m actually from Illinois and am used to decent to really good customer service and have had a lil bad luck in that area since we’ve out here. However, I found this place. I love this place, the customer service is insanely fast and respectful. They’re so caring for a mechanic shop..../ but they’re much better then a mechanic shop, they’re my new family shop. Ashton went above and beyond to help me and not rip me off, super cool and down to earth guy.

I was on my way out of town and realized I needed my oil changed. I typically go to a different location, but this was on my way out of town. The manager who answered the phone was very nice. When I arrived, I pulled the "how long is the wait" which is probably the rudest question ever. I felt terrible. But, the employee working said "10 minutes or less" and he wasn't lying! They were so polite and quick and didn't push other services on me! Would come back if it was my "local location".

So this my second time here. I was suppose to review the first time, but didn't get around to it. Anywho, this place is quick, efficient, clean, and extremely friendly. The amount of time it took for me to type this review and post it (15min) is the same time they took to get my oil change done. The place is almost unnaturally clean and tidy. Every time I come in I get immediate service from friendly and professional staff. They are thorough, efficient and very quick. Prices are reasonable and they do honor several discounts for local businesses, veteran and active duty military, etc. And always quick to offer water, coffee and conversation to pass the time. I like and appreciate this place. My first stop for all my vehicle maintenance needs.

Ive been coming here for over 10 years. Over the years the wife and I have had Acuras, Audis, Nissans and Ford all changed here and I trust their recommendations and their quality of service. I drive from Katy or go after work. I’ve had 2 different oil change places in Katy screwup my wife’s Audi and just luckily didn’t completely destroy the engine before we realized they screwed up. Trusting a place to do it right means a lot.

I was only planning on getting a quick state inspection from Kwik Kar, but was pleasantly surprised by the customer service and care they showed me in my short time there. Ashton took the time to show me some services he recommended to keep my car running well and I was so impressed by his information and attention to detail that I decided to do everything. I recently needed to top off my transmission fluid in my 71 bug. Luis and team did it for no charge during a slow weekend period. I brought my own gear oil, of course. I would strongly recommend these guys. They replaced the AC compressor in my wife's Nissan Murano a few months ago and did an excellent job. Probably the thing I like best about this business is that the shop is CLEAN! You could eat off of most surfaces.

Went for an oil change and tire rotation. Hardly looked at my vehicle and said oh you need an alignment. Told him vehicle is not pulling drives fine no thank you. 2x was told ok its your car but... put it up on the rack to "show me how bad it was" I say thanks but I dont want an alignment. Finally get the oil change and they charge me $112.00 for a synthetic oil change, any place else its 80.00 at most. Wont go back.

The experts at Kwik Kar helped me perform the transmission fluid drain on my car just a few weeks ago, they advised me on the parts needed and with little effort were able to perform the service to perfection, my car now feels smoother to drive. I highly recommend this shop to anybody looking to service their vehicle and is looking for a small town’s atmosphere you simply won’t find at a dealership or similar shops.

I went to get an oil change but they also noted the tires needed rotating which they did .. 2 of them also needed replacing and they told me about a website I could get them at a discount for and have them delivered directly to the store without hassle. Their waiting room stocked with coffee/ water and frequent updates about what was going on with your car.. I will definitely be returning here for all my car’s care!

The manager was very nice, however they were very expensive. My 2010 Chevy 2500HD usually costs $76 at Kwik Kar (It's been to 3 other Kwik Kar's for its oil change), however this location charged me $99. They said that that's what they always charge, and although they did budge $5, it was still almost $20 more than I usually pay. Although the service was good, I won't be going back to pay $20 more than usual...

Your car service here will be great. I came here once years ago because I got a flat and they were right across the street. They were nice and took care of me right away. I've done two state inspections here and a couple of oil changes. Always great service, great prices, nice clean waiting area, great customer service and quick too. I'd recommend this place to anyone.

Best oil change experience I have ever had. The staff are helpful, and make an effort explain their work, and they treat their customers kindly. The facility is meticulously clean and well organized, all the signs are easily readable and the mechanics are clean-cut and professional to the customers and to one another also. I will use them again.

They were fast competent and knowledgeable. They even gave me heads up on a new car I bought. I’d definitely recommend . very friendly laid back .

We've been bringing our car here for a few years now and the service is always excellent every time we come in. They do great work and make recommendations without being pushy. This place seems great, the employees were very helpful and the store front was well kept and the mechanics bay was clean but there's an issue with price gouging there... They tried to charge $450 for a battery for my Jeep! I left and got the same or better battery for $180, so my point is made...

Wonderful costumer service here! Called ahead of time because I was in a hurry. Drove in and they were already ready to take care of me and only took 10 mins to do my oil change on a Saturday afternoon. He also took time to fix the leak for my windshield wiper fluid which I didn’t even ask for!

Took my vehicle there for state inspection and they failed it due to window tint. First time that's happened in 3 years. Took it to another place and it passed with no issues. I wouldn't take my car here for window wiper fluid. The techs don't know how to maintain their inspection equipment.

The best!! Tisam & Co are my heroes. My car started overheating from a cracked radiator and many other issues last night, I took it to them this morning, they diagnosed and pushed hard to fix the problem by the end of the day so I could leave town with it tonight. 10/10 would recommend.
