The term "Shahid Minar" means a monument made to pay gratitude to the martyrs of 21st February 1952. On that very day people sacrificed their lives to establish BANGLA as the state language of then Pakistan. Now this day, the 21st February, is recognized as International Mother Language Day across the globe. Now a day, Shahid Minars are the parts of educational institutions of Bangladesh. People of the country pay their gratitude to the Martyrs of Mother Language. People also pay their gratitude to the Martyrs of the Liberation War of Bangladesh in different national occasions. Leading University (LU) Sahahid Minar is now under construction. It is a huge project of the university. It is said that the approximate cost of the project is around 15 million Bangladeshi Taka. Hopefully, it will be complied by February 2020.
