We used to be regulars here but the last couple of times we have been here, the staff have been incredibly rude. We had a waitress tell us our kids would have to eat under the table because if the owners saw she allowed sharing of plates on the cameras (my kids are 3 and 2) that she would be fired. We couldn't even get refills on water. Tonight, we went back hoping for a better experience. Again we were greeted with rude and arrogant staff members. My daughter has a cast on her leg and has to be in a stroller right now. The host put us at a table in the middle of two other families which left no room for us. The looks the other staff members gave us was less than friendly. Our waiter was not friendly, and treated us like we were a burden to be there. Had to ask repeatedly to bring the things we ordered. I truly am disappointed that this restaurant has turned out this way, it used to be one of our favorite places to go to. The food is great, big portions with fair prices. But unfortunately with the way we were treated these past couple visits, La Teresita will have to be a thing of the past for us.

Love the good. Prices are reasonable and fair. Great staff and professionalism. The staff there treat my autistic son with such respect. He's been going to this restaurant since he was a baby. His special needs sometimes cause him to exhibit actions differently to what's "acceptable",or what some would call weird or abnormal behavior. The staff there are so kind to him and understand. They even told me that my autistic son is their "favorite kiddo" and that I should be proud of him. I am! Great place!

Read what I wrote about my son above. He's respected and treated with kindness. Thank you to the staff for being so good to him!

Let’s start off our morning with coming here feeling great order my coffee when the Cuban sandwich people telling me that it’s the best sandwiches we get my coffee it wasn’t even espresso. It was something premade out of some aluminum entrapment same as you would get at a restaurant that Coffee taste kind of funny so I said it’s OK so my sandwich came you usually order it without vegetables expecting you know ham pork you know normally and it was one slice of slice of ham, one slice, slice of pork, one slice of cheese and the rest was all bread. It wasn’t even a sandwich, it was just all bread with just mayo and mustard barely meat at all It was the most horrible experience I’ve had at a place to be honest, which I would never return to this place I took two bites. I paid for my meal. And walked out. I heard so many good things about this place and tell me that your sandwich maker doesn’t know how to make a sandwich. It’s pretty sad for a place so popular.

I pulled in on a friend’s recommendation. I had my doubts. The place definitely does not stand out from the neighborhood. Orientation took a few moments too. There are several different areas. A bakery in the back, a huge bar style restaurant on the west side - perfect if you are alone and don’t mind mixing with other, and a sit down restaurant on the east side. Go around the back to access everything. Most importantly, the food. The FOOD! I was pleasantly surprised. I wasn’t crazy about the appetizer bread, but the main courses were very inexpensive, generous quantities and delicious! I got goat and fried fish. Also got some desert from the bakery afterwards. Everything was fantastic. If I were closer, I’d be here trying out all the dishes. Try this place out if you haven’t been. Fantastic first experience for me.

My family have eaten at La Teresita numerous times over my lifetime, as we are Tampanian’s. But last night’s meal was horrible. We sat down at 745 and ordered our food right away. The waiter was aggravated or irritated. Ok everyone an off day. It took our food a little while to get there, and when it arrived every meal was stone cold. As if it had been sitting out. We told the waiter that all of our food was cold he got very offensive but took our food back and replaced it with mediocre warm food. This is totally unacceptable when we paid over $100 for a meal. We did tell the manager and she said well you got more food correct? yes but it was lukewarm at best. We Will Not be back.

My first time here or having Cuban food and I was a little disappointed. Cuban sandwich didn’t seem authentic enough for me from what I expected it to look like. Was flat and seemed to lack flavor. Tamal was not what I’m used to, and I didn’t care for the corn in the masa and it didn’t seem throughly cooked. Loved the yellow rice, red beans and yuca. The fish my friend had she didn’t care for it. I’m really surprised and don’t know how to feel about the menu for certain days. What she had wanted could only be ordered on a certain day and that was disappointing since we were only here for the weekend.

Decent cuban sandwich as having had many of these when someone asks if I want lettuce tomatoes mustard and mayo it pinches a nerve but I gave it a shot. It was not bad I had ask for it the correct way I know mustard only but was pleased. While not the best I ever had it certainly was not the worst. The platanito chips were overcooked and oily but some were salvageable and tasted good. The corquets were small but tast as well. Bought some pastries but haven't tried them yet. Overall I say when in Tampa give this place a try, the other dishes I saw looked delightful and smelled good.

Amazing Cuban food! We were looking for an authentic place to experience the cuisine and we were not disappointed at all with our visit. The oxtail stew was AMAZING! The staff were very pleasant and helpful with the menu. They had restrooms available inside but I wouldn't say it's handicap accessible. The counters you sit at are quite high so I would recommend getting take out if you want to try the food but need special accommodations. We also did not see any young children inside because of the seating arrangements I would imagine that would be difficult, but if your child is able to sit in this type of environment They would be ok. The juices and smoothies are also amazing Highly recommend trying the food!

The food was TERRIBLE, I order a fish from Sunday's specials, well the special is that everything comes from can, yes!! CANNED FOOD!!! The green beans, the tomato sauce, and the rice was all hard, the yellow rice was from frozen as well. The only thing is from the restaurant is the pork and arroz moro, that's it!! Because dessert the flan from box that you can buy at walmart, or latin store!! HORRIBLE, for that I open can at home! My lord, never seen this when they say authentic cuban food, I don't think cuban food is canned food!!. Nothing fresh or actually cooked in the restaurant kitchen. Can't put zero star so I put 1 star.

We dined at the Counter Service side and the service was quick, good was incredible, and a great atmosphere that dates back 50 years. Making the meal complete was the fresh pressed buttered Cuban bread (made in house). Perfect for sopping up the leftover juices from the Ropa Vieja.

Busy from 11-2 . You will see every walk of life and many local celebrities and athletes from time yo time. But a seat comes available, and your food is ready in minutes. Always good and flavourful. You will need a container to take what you have left over.

We were in town for vacation and I wanted my kids to try something new for dinner so we stopped here. We didn’t understand the menu so I asked our waiter, Javier who explained how the main dishes were here and here and side dishes were on this part of the menu and that you can pick two. The kids menu was super easy to figure out. We got the appetizer combo (Javier explained what each thing and dipping sauce was, the cilantro dipping sauce was amazing) I ordered the tilapia with garlic, yellow rice and collard green soup. All were amazing and portions were not skimpy. We will definitely be back next time we come on vacation. FYI the east side of the building is the restaurant portion

A friend recommended this spot for authentic Cuban food while in Tampa. It was a great recommendation. Our order: - Croquetas de Jamom - Tamal - Yuca Frita - Puerco Asado with Yuca - Platano Relleno - Cubano (small) - Guanabana Batido My favorite dish hands down was the Platano Relleno. I love fried sweet plantains and this was stuffed with some ground beef which was really good. The only thing I wouldn't get again is the Puerco Asado. The juice was really flavorful, but the pork itself was dry. If you too are looking for authentic Cuban food in Tampa (that's really cheap as well), check this spot out!

This is a very good place to get some very good Spanish food. I took my girlfriend here on a date and we had a great time. The waitress was really nice and friendly. She was very attentive when it came down to our refills. The food also came out really fast. We got the Cuban sandwich black beans and yellow rice and a stuffed potato ball. All of it was very fresh and very good. I would definitely recommend this place to my friends and my family. Also we definitely will be returning back to try out more of their menu. The inside could be a little bit bigger and also I wish they had more places to sit like booths and tables. But overall a great experience.

We came to Tampa to pick up a family member from the airport around 9 PM. It was on our bucket list to get some Cuban food while in the area. I found this restaurant online and the reviews were excellent so we decided to go there. Even though it was close to 9:30 PM, the place was fairly full. The service was good, the prices were very, reasonable and the food was excellent. while I have not enjoyed Cuban food extensively, this was by far the best Cuban sandwich I have ever had. I would definitely go again if I was in the area.

We were looking for something different to try. The cubano sandwich was very tasty. We ordered the appetizer platter, which came with ham croquettes, plantain chips and yuca fries. The ham croquettes were fried to perfection. The chips crunchy and the yuca fries were good. They came with three different sauces. The garlic, cilantro mayo was the best. We would come here again.

So frustrating! The rice was dried out as if it had been sitting a while and honestly tasted like instant yellow rice. The ropa vieja portion barely covered the bottom of the container and half of the meat was too hard to bite into. It was as if it had been sitting under a heat lamp for a while, and someone stirred it last minute. It’s just frustrating when you want to treat your family and order online only to be disappointed. We’ve been both coming here and ordering online or to go for as long as I can remember, but things are not the same. By the way, gave two stars because the platanos were perfect.

This establishment did not dissapoint. Countertop style service that is quick and friendly. The food is delicious. 3 of us got a huge amount of food for about 50 bucks. Great selection, great food. Daily specials. The chicken and rice and ropa vieja were fantastic. I enjoyed the tamales and platanos. Some flan for dessert and a coffee really seals the deal. There is a small bakery attached where you can get some cheap, tasty postres. Muy rico!

I would return. Waited a bit initially. Our server was ok. I don't like waiting a long time once seated to be acknowledged, I feel that sets the experience. The food was good, the atmosphere is nice. I'll be back and give it another shot. It's worth trying out if you haven't been.

This restaurant was a big disappointment. All I wanted was a delicious hot sandwich with the usual fixings. What I got was a lackluster Cuban that was cold, had no mayo or mustard or pickles, and had lettuce, tomato, and potato chips. The fried plantains were also disappointingly cold. The service was good when located, but struggled to get me the proper drink after multiple attempts. Sad to say I will not be back, I just wish Cuban Breezes was open on Sundays so I could’ve had my Cuban cravings fulfilled.

I will say, I have been coming here since 2012... We like it, on Sundays before 10am, or I used to go also during the week. It's not great but it's very much like the places in Miami... (I grew up there lol) the service is fast in the cafeteria, not sure for dine-in. It's traditional Cuban food. There are a lot of choices for Cuban cuisine in town, so this could be an option.... You really cant mess up a Cuban sandwich

This was a great experience with authentic Cuban food. We had the Puerco Asado (Roasted Pork) and Bistec En Cazuela (Potted Steak n Sauce). Everything was good. Even the black bean soup tastes good. The wait staff looked professional and the hostesses were friendly. As soon as you get out of the car the smell of delicious food takes over. We also enjoyed our desserts at home. I sent this breaded steak back once. I know that they reuse the same oil in Cuba but omg. Will come back but please do better.... I'm not getting into how there was a 3.5" hair(with the root attached) embedded in my Cuban sandwich. To add insult to injury...the server tried to justify the hairy situation..claiming that it was a leaf that they used to season the bread. Again, we'll pay the tab, compensate the server accordingly, be on our way and come back. Just another honest review.

  • Avi Abasov

Authentic decent food with nice staff and service. I am surprised by the high rating here - the food is ok but nothing to write home about. The red bean sup was actually a pleasant surprise! The spices were on point and the bread that came with it was a nice touch. This was my first ever cuban sandwich and maybe I had too high of am expectation but I don't understand the hype. It's toasted sandwich with cheese, cold cuts, lettuce and tomatoes - very simple, and it was just ok here.

I have been here 4 times in last year. Whenever I travel to Tampa I eat here. The food has a home made feel and taste. The cuban bread that is brought out as an appetizer is one the best I have had. Nice atmosphere. Music on the weekends. Food is good. Don't go on a Saturday night. Super busy! Will return that's for sure.

One of the few places I can think of that exceeds the hype. Deborah was amazing and we appreciated all her recs. The entertainment was amazing, ambiance perfect, and food not only affordable and tasty but portions were generous. This place is a gem

A true 5-star gem! A non- pretentious, authentic Cuban restaurant open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It is a counter service style place with genuine and speedy service. I moved away from Tampa years ago, and this is one of the places I

I ordered food for a catered party in June and paid at pickup. In September, they called my husband and said we did not pay so he gave our card info over the phone. After checking our credit card statement, he saw we were charged twice for

All we wanted was drinks and light meal with music. The staff Claudia at the entrance was super charming and sat us close to the musician. Although everyone was having a beautiful meal, we had a really nice time. The music was excellent.

Some friends invited us to dinner with them in Tampa. They took us to Cape de Villa's at LA Teresita. One wanted just black beans & yellow rice, the other wanted Roasted Pork & Onions with yellow rice. My wife ordered a steak with black

Been going here since the late 90’s one of the best childhood memory. Best food with the best price, love the atmosphere, the people work there, and that dining vibe. So much to say but I do recommend going and trying it out. More

The food was delicious! We had lunch in the cafeteria style seating side. It was like seating with friends you have not met yet. Definitely a place to visit at least couple of times to have a chance to try different dishes.

Went to the diner side of the restaurant after a Bucs game. The floor was filled with litter like napkins. Found spot on far end and was able to get order in fairly quickly. Food is good, classic Cuban criollo food. More

Great food. Stopped by late at night and it was as lively as day with adequate staffing. Large menu and prices are reasonable. Service is quite quick. The place is clean as well. There is a bakery right next door.

I been going to this restaurant for many years. The food is good and fast. If you are looking for good food quickly this is your place.

Service was slow and mediocre. Pork was well seasoned, rice looked rather good but lacked flavor, collard green soup lacked seasoning but was okay. The bread was descent.

Authentic Cuban food and coffee. Always friendly service and quick. It doesn’t matter what time of day or night. Their oxtail is amazing! More
