Gave it 2 stars because the type of people that come here. Usually I don’t care but literally every single time we have been there have been these BOYS that are super rude to all the kids in the play area throwing sand snatching toys and literally hitting another kid because she didn’t want to play with them. Most of the time they are arabs and their mothers and fathers are sitting so far away smoking shisha ignoring their awfully raised kids. Last time it was Pakistani boys again shoving kids and their parents were busy socializing with their group neglecting their responsibility of raising proper kids and teaching them manners. This review is not meant to be racist as I am from one of these countries and my husband from the other so it’s our own kind however the type that come to this park are absolute trash. The park is always over crowded too. If you come for the views it’s great at the lake but foe the sand pit and play structure 0/10 there are horrible kids with neglectful parents that leave their problematic kids there to harass everyone.

Beautiful park, wonderful for families, and anyone who enjoys a rocky beach. Right beside the parking lot is a rather nice splash fountain area for families, then following the path you come to a playground split into 4 parts. There is qn adapted swing in one part, but the rest of the playground is not accessible. This beach is rather unique. Set on the shore of lake Ontario, it is almost entirely covered by smooth, weathered, terracotta pebbles. Technically a "shingle beach", in the 18th and 19th century an industrial ceramics works buried their rejected terracotta pipes here. Over the centuries the pipes were broken and weathered into what at first appear to be red river pebbles. The lake temperatire was surprisingly pleasant, although there is a very steep drop off, so able swimmers only here!

The Lakeside park is a lovely location to access Lake Ontario. The beach is full of clay stones, makes for a very pretty viewing, but slightly difficult to navigate for toddlers and elderly. Sunrise here is breathtaking, check out a few pictures here. Sunsets are gorgeous too, especially during the winter. I was here with my toddler when it was -20 and would have loved to spend lot more time than we could. The geese take over the corner of this beach over the winter and that makes for fabulous views. If you like watching the geese that is. This is a frequent hub for dog walkers, so you will see a variety of them walking around you. There are what I believe large refineries so not sure we are breathing very fresh air.

Wonderful park for kids( and people young in mind :) there is a splash pad, climbers, the lake where there is an abundance of skipping rocks. Washrooms are available and I believe the icecream truck is parked there most days. We visited to collect rocks to paint for an upcoming Grandparent 50th wedding anniversary. My two grandgirls were reluctant to get wet as they didn't bring their bathing suits, but quickly changed their minds when they saw that the splash pad was empty!!it was soooo wonderful to see them throw caution to the wind and splashed, danced, and laughed throughout the sprinklers. I almost joined them but realized I had nothing to change into and so I was left to watch with jealousy!!!

We haven't been to this park in 2 years and we really missed going to this park. Not too many people visit this park 2 to 4 years a go, but when we got to visit it again, I was surprised how busy this park has become since our last visit 2 years a go. The stair waterfall connected to the splash pad no longer work but the splash pad is still enjoyable without it. The children's playground is well maintained and the paved trail is a nice place to train your child how to ride a bike. It also has a decent size picnic area. If you're going on a weekend, be there early to get a spot. Parking can also be a pain on a weekend. Also a great place to practice paddle boarding.

Its a really beautiful place. It checks all the rigjt things for a perfect day out. Beautiful trail to walk/bike. It has a dog park. An open area where you can also fly kite. Nuce big play area for the kids along with splash pad. There is a nuce clean restroom near the main parking lot. I was pleasantly surprised hm by the amount of parking this place had. It also has another overflow parking. You an also stroll along the waterfront. Even though its not a sandy beach, it has nice smooth round pebbles. Picnic area as well as benches around to sit. And if not, so much shade that you can sit down and enjoy the day.

Came here in December for a walk. this is a really nice clean park with plenty of amenities. see the map. plenty of free parking with 3 lots. the washrooms are next to the main parking lot. it is spacious and heated in the winter and they are clean. the playground is large with activities for all age groups. lots of benches to sit around. there is an off leash dog area on the east side of the park. the park is next to cobble beach with its unique red clay cobbles. fun to skip rocks. the waterfront trail connects with this park if you're cycling. there is a bike repair station along the path.

Was looking for a cool spot during the heat wave and this is 15min from my home, splashpad looked great, dog park was fenced in, benches available to sit and look out at the lake, trails to get down to the water. The beach area had some garbage scattered around in some areas even though there are bins along the walkway, the pond needed maintenance it was filled with tree branches and leaves, you will need bug spray. Otherwise great for cooling down.

It's just a beautiful lakeside park with a wide view. Tourists are usually not many, very quiet, there are small children's playgrounds, small squares paved with tiles, can skate on the top, drive remote control cars, etc. There are also places for barbecues. Along the stone ladder, there is a small hillside, the top of which can provide a bird's eye view of the park panorama and vision. The lakeside is far-sighted, full of endless Lake water, suddenly feel open-minded.

  • Muresh Reddy

Small and one of the clean park in Mississauga for family picnics. The washrooms are clean and that deserves a thumbs up. There's a kids play area, splash pool, walking trail and few picnic tables, plenty of people doing BBQ. It was our first time there and was impressed with beach keepers and number of times I saw the garbage collected and how well maintained the park. Definitely worth going again. Cons, far from public transportation.

  • T B

Great for kids: has a big splash pad and park, lots of areas for picnic. One big covered area for large group bbq. Clean washrooms! The beach is rocky, but great for kids to try and skip rocks on water or go on a rock treasure hunt. Sometimes you'll see a big sediment ship in the distance which is pretty cool. Has a bike path that i think connects to other nearby parks as well...or at least it's a decent length for a short ride.

  • Darren Mullen

Very beautiful place I wish it wasn't polluted. You wouldn't know it by looking at the water. It's clear as day.
Playground
There was kids in it the sand looked clean.
Restrooms
The restrooms were clean I was shocked
Dog-friendliness
All the dogs that i've seen were on lisa's some really beautiful bridge and the people were nice
Picnic area
Didn't have a picnic so I can't tell you much about that

  • Sushil Mishra

Tired after full day office and workload? If you are around this place then grab a coffee or some icecream from nearby famous icecream cafes and just go to the park. Either take a walk on lakeshore or sit and enjoy your icecream or coffee. The sound of waves hitting stones and view of sky with orange and blue hue will take you to some other world. I will surely recommend this place if you are looking for some peace.

  • M Q

Came here for a birthday. Great park and splash pad. They have public bathrooms. The parking lot is on the small side, so get there early. Covered areas with picnic tables have to be rented more than 2 weeks in advance. Great summer birthday area.
Playground
Swings, slides, sand to play in
Restrooms
Clean enough, felt comfortable using.
Picnic area
Great for picnics and birthdays. Big spaces

  • Rauf Sheikh

Great place to take the family for fun or a picnic. Bring your barbecue, gas, or charcoal. There is plenty of stuff to do for the kids. Playground, splash pad, etc. Ice cream truck is always there. The only negative is there isn't enough parking. Get there early to get a parking spot.
Playground
Lots to do for all ages.
Restrooms
Fairly clean
Picnic area
Alot of options of where to set up.

  • Allen Beiko

Beautiful lakefront area in thr south west corner of Mississauga on the shores of Lake Ontario. A rocky red beach, open lawns & walking paths, plus a splash pad & playground are found here. Wheelchair accessible pkg lot. Open daily from dawn until 11 p.m.. Explore Lakeside Park's waterfront, leash-free zone, spray pad, trails and play structures. And yes there is a story behind all the red rocks

  • Maria Z

Beautiful quiet park. Love it. It’s become our go to park for BBQ. Lovely scenic views. And the best part is that it’s not crowded like other major parks around Mississauga and the lakefront.
Playground
Separate playground for both infant and toddlers.
Picnic area
They have multiple picnic areas and you don’t need to book some to have a small picnic. They allow BBQ so that’s a plus.

  • S Kay

Really like this park, its newish compared to Jack Darling and some of the other ones. Plenty of parking (we went on a Saturday at 5 pm). Nice big playground for kids to enjoy with lots of benches for parents. Long pathway to walk on, with a big open picnic area close to the pebble rock beach where we slung rocks in the water. There's a separate area for dog park too. Would recommend!

  • Greeshma Renju

We went there on a Sunday evening. Ideal for family picnics, there are few picnic tables. We saw plenty of groups doing bbq party. There is something for everyone - kids play area, splash pad, walking trail, green lawns. The lakeside offers an amazing view, beach has very attractive pink/red pebbles. Washrooms are clean. Garbage bins are placed appropriately and picked up frequently.

  • Helia Oliveira

It was a great day, lots of sun and a breeze. The park wasn't that busy, but way too hot for walking. Ran into a huge spider sac/web. There is lots of parking, wheelchair accessible, public washrooms, a fenced-in dog park, picnic area, and a good size play ground for your children, plus a water play area. Down by the lake, you might run into a couple of swans if you're lucky. ENJOY!!

  • travelhholic dr

Nice park, huge ground, children’s play area but extremely crowded today even in COVID season. Flash pads was not crowded due to cold weather. Lots of people walking with dogs. One strange thing I have noted lots of dogs were with out leashes, is it allowed? Beach was also busy. Ice cream trucks were also seen there in the parking. Lot of parking available which is free

  • Mubashir Ahmad Khan

This park has one of the best splash pads in the city. Always too crowded on weekends and not enough parking as compared to other parks. Require some cleaning near the beach area. We definitely need some more family picnic areas as well.
Playground
Not enough space.
Restrooms
Cleanliness not maintained regularly.
Picnic area
Not enough space.

  • Kathy Paulin-Lougheed

Beautifully landscaped and well equipped Bbq/ Picnic shelters. Well kept washrooms. Playground is fun for parents and kids to play together. Bike/running paths. Rocky beach (no swimming) Amazing splash pad. Great spots for kite flying. Education about rainwater and environmental stewardship. Wildlife viewing: Beaver, snake, frog, Monarch butterflies.

  • Wendy Stebbing

This is a somewhat hidden gem in south Oakville. It is a water front park with a dog park, playground and splash pad, picnic tables and bbqs and the waterfront trail to walk, bike or rollerblade on. We went down to walk the dog and skip some stones into lake Ontario. Many people enjoying a quiet friday night by the lake. There is lots of parking too

  • Cory Sakai

Medium sized lakefront park with lots of variety. Children's play structures splash pad, overlook hill, dog park, cobblestone beach, naturalized marsh area with lots of birds, washrooms (not during COVID), paved path and multiple parking areas. Too bad it doesn't connect with other waterfront parks. TIP: It can be buggy, so be prepared and warned.

  • Jaime Aludos

I found out about this park at an Airbnb and it was beautiful. The air felt clear being further away from the city, water looked extremely blue, and I loved the rocks/stones on the beach. It has a nice path that you can walk or bike, a small splash for children, and barbecue pits. Great place to be at sunrise/sunset in the summer especially.

  • ashu gill

Great large place to rome and spend some quality time with family. Play areas are great for kids of all ages. I would recommend it. Such peaceful, mind relaxing and calm place .
Restrooms
Restrooms are neat and clean .
Picnic area
Such a good place for barbecue. You can bring your own raw food material and barbecue it here .

  • Prince Thomas

Very good park for children. It has splash pad, play zone with some great equipment. Equipment like music play, some math, some civil construction equipment, a sandbox. Accessibility to some equipment is available. Can further improve by having different flooring to give accessibility to children having mobility access issues.

  • Safvan

It's such a serene place to go for an evening stroll or a picnic. Good place to take your kids out.
Playground
There is a kids' playground with some slides and other stuff.
Restrooms

Dog-friendliness

  • Cathy Zhang

A wonderful place to go. Located besides Lake Ontario makes it a beautiful combination of sea and natural creatures. The lighthouse was extremely incredible around 7pm when we went to Lakeside Park. We didn’t get the chance to walk through the trail because it’s a little bit late, but we will try it out next time.

  • Shant Nagle

Taking off a star because of the polluted lake Tardue will not take actions on this matter Same thing with Niagara Falls, water is so poluted that the ugly foam is formed where it falls This is especially after experiencing the fresh water rivers in Switzerland
Dog-friendliness
Separate dog park

  • Mamillapalli Supriya

This place amazed me when I saw the red stones. I later came to know that those were the pipes ruins that are left over and formed into rocks later on. A big park with huge splash pad for kids and walking path along with beach vibes. However there is little dirt sediment which was the only concern for me.

  • nayonika

I loved this place! There was fun for the whole family! There were splash pads, ice cream trucks, 4 park sections, picnic spots, vast areas of grass, beautiful and a huge beach area. The weather was very beautiful and pleasant near the water. The beach wasn't as crowded either. Hope to visit here again!

  • Mariam Sutarwala

No parking. The city has to do something about parking near these parks. Splash pad is clean and lots of fun. Park is large enough to allow social distancing, beach area is tiny and way too rocky. The shore was dirty, full of sea debris and feathers, wish it was a bit cleaner to allow for some soaking.

  • Graeme Davidson

Lots of fun, but as a first time visitor, note that the whole park is not leash free! I let doggos out at the west entrance and was wo der why so many kids and no dogs...a d some pretty evil glances haha. All good! We made it to the LFP at the eastern entrance. Lots of friendly people and . …

  • M.U. S. (Mr)

Our preferred park for spring, summer, and fall. They have some good picnic spots that do not require booking and they have a splash pad and playground as well for kids. Lake view is pretty good to. And it’s a nice place for a long walk in a very hot day sonce it is right next to the water.

  • Mega Soft

Very clean and enjoyable. Nice for a good walk small playground for the children just keep in mind it’s not very big. The only bad thing about this is that it doesn’t have lights at night so keep that in mind!
Playground
It’s nice for children to have fun. it’s also safe and clean.

  • Tyrone Wheeler

The walking trail was good, however, there is a missing piece her at the park, which I personally think should be added, and that the waterfront. The only trails to the water are ones made by individuals beating it down by foot. It's a beautiful area, it's high time you develop it.

  • Manas Ronghe

Amazing place to stroll around, run, ride a bicycle or simply sit at the banks of the lake... choose what you want to do and the park has everything for you. Was a calming sit on the banks and an amazing stroll. Nothing more to say... watch the video and see for yourself …

  • Erum Zuberi

This is a nice place to bring kids and dogs - there's plenty of park amenities and a sprinkler area where kids can play, as well as a dog park for your furry pal. There's also a nice trail alongside Lakeshore and a red stone area by the lake that you can walk on as well.

  • Ryan Thomas

A nice natural space to enjoy a cool lake breeze or just stroll down the waterfront. There is an excellent splash pad and playground for the whole family. Also BBQ are available in the picnic area. Please keep COVID-19 precautions in mind as this park gets quite busy.

  • David Beckles

I liked it here. It's not a traditional beach but the views here were nice. This place is in Oakville by the Petro Canada plant. I wouldn't swim here but it a nice place to eat some lunch by the shore line. There are also nicely paved trails to walk, run or ride.

  • Nader Al-Dossary

The playground is organized. Seating areas come with tables, shaded and big enough for families. The beach is stony but nice to sit and watch the nice view (You need a thick mat if you wanna sit on the beach). I loved it. Recommended.

  • Amber Hasan

What a beautiful place. Lovely clean beach, real waves that remind one of oceans and seas. Beautiful playground and splash pad. Barbecue spots I picnic areas. Park staff was constantly on the go for trash pickup. Lots of parking

A nice and quiet park in the middle of the industrial area. Lots of picnic areas and restroom. Playground and dog park. Plenty of parking. Also interpretive signs explaining the history of the area.

  • Megi K

Love coming here, mostly at off hours and in the off season. It can get too crazy in the summer. If you’re lucky, you can get some nice waves here and see some ships docked by the refinery.

  • Stacy Jin

Great place to watch sunrise over lake Ontario . People can walk their dogs unleashed. Other than that, quite loud noise and a bit chemical odd come from the industrial facilities nearby.

  • Serge Bojinski

It's a good place to play with kids on the playground, to launch a kite from the shore or simply take a walk. There's access to water. Washrooms and lots of parking space available.

Unfortunately, the park is located in the industrial area and the air around is not pure, maybe polluted.. I wouldn't recommend it for visiting with children
