My first time in Laundry Valet was quite an eye opener. It is bright and clean and full of happy people all there to do something we hate, the wash. I live just down the alley from them on Jervis so it's like a one minute walk from my place. Mid-afternoon on a Tuesday and they were almost at capacity. I used a triple load and a double load machine to do what amounted to three very bulky loads of laundry. They run a complete cycle in under half an hour so you are not stuck there all day just to get clean socks. They have those huge gas dryers that can dry three loads at a time, and do it quite economically too considering the building I live in charges $2 just for one standard load. There are economies of scale at work here, if you bring in three loads at a time you will save money. They have given delightful names to all the machines. Washers have boy names, dryers girl names. I observed this to the owner and commented that life is nothing without whimsy. If you're the type to stick around while the machines work they have provided cozy sofas to lounge on. There is ample folding area too. One thing I wish they had was one of those tall poles with the clamp at the top that you operate with a foot pedal that aids in folding sheets. It is a drag trying to fold queen-sized sheets by yourself whilst trying to keep the ends off the floor. Because they are so great they are also very popular. As I was carting out my freshly laundered clothes back to my apartment I saw a guy towing a wheeled suitcase with one hand and soap/fabric softener in the other. I'm sure he had a short wait as the place was packed when I left. Since I hate doing laundry and have lots of clothes, I expect I'll be hauling in three or four loads down the alley at a time, and I will be back. Count on it. They're a class act. Check them out!
I had pretty horrible experience today. I asked for a full service laundry meaning that that it would be transferred to the dryer for me so that when I come back everything is clean and dry. After waiting an hour wandering around, I go back to find my cloths soaking wet still in the washer. The lady claimed she thought I wanted to dry it myself - maybe I wasn’t explicit enough when I asked for a full service. Ok fine, I can forgive that. So I put my cloths in the dryer for 30 min and when I’m back in 25 min to check on it I find my cloths soaking wet sitting in a basket right next to the dryer. Turns out the owner took my stuff out of the dryer 5 min after I left because she needed it for something else. I spent almost 2 hours there and ended up with wet cloths. And the most frustrating part is that the owner insisted that I pay full price for the washer and dryer. I just wish there was another laundromat in the neighbourhood to compete with this horrible establishment.
WARNING THEY LOSE YOUR ITEMS! I used their pick up/delivery service for a few months and at first everything was perfect. Then they lost my favourite dress. I should have cancelled them but I understand we are all human and make mistakes now and then so I continued using their service. The last load they did for my partner and I they lost 11 of our items! After reporting the loss to the staff the owner took 3 days to respond to us and made it seem like it was somehow our fault. She suggested we left the laundry outside our house etc. Clearly there is a problem with their management because if she had actually asked the staff she would have known that we live in an apartment and every time there was a pickup or delivery either my partner or myself would meet directly with the driver. They only ended up giving us 1/3 of what was lost after a very unpleasant ordeal. Honestly just a horrific experience.
I went at 11:30 AM on a Friday. All three ladies behind the counter were super polite and helpfull. There are about 15 washing machines and 8 big dryers. The washers cost $3.75 for the small ones and $7.50 for the large ones. The large ones are really quite big. I used the large one. It took 00:22 to wash. Liquid laundry detergent costs $ 1.00 and 1 sheet of Bounce etc costs $0.25. The dryer took just 00:21. It costs $.25 for 3 minutes. The clothes may seem to be wetter than normal when they come out of the washer but they really aren't. I think that it is because the rinse cycle uses such cold water that it gives the impression that the clothes are wetter than they really are. Anyway the dryer made quick work of it all. All in all a tip top place to do your laundry. 5 star rating
In need of a top-notch laundry facility? Look no further. Having investigated and used many laundromats, this place is without a doubt the best place I've come across. I've been doing all of my laundry here for more than a year for the following reasons. 1. The cost is very competitive to other facilities and is generally far lower than what is offered in apartment buildings (at least it is compared to mine and my friends places). 2. The space is always clean and tidy. 3. There is a good amount of machines with enough variety for small to very large amounts of laundry. 4. The staff have always been helpful, prompt and responsive. 5. You can feel comfortable leaving the laundromat while your machine is running.
Clean and confortable. Gave it a four star because, in comparison to others, their machines work, the place is relatively spacious, and the it’s confortable to wait for washing/drying to get done. They also have a good selection of normal and high capacity machines. Doff off service is available. Did not give it a five because of very limited parking at the rear. Street parking available on David but it’s not cheap. To the detriment of users, staff use many machines for the use of drop off clothes, greatly limiting the availability of machines, especially if they start reserving machines. This is somewhat frustrating since the place is well known and has numerous clients.
Was going here for a few weeks and it was good until today. We arrived at 7 pm and were told by a young lady that even though they are open until 8:30 we could not use the machines. Despite the fact we only wanted to use the 20 minute washing machine and had been coming there every Monday at 7pm for a few weeks she still denied us service claiming a new rule prevented use of any machines after 7pm. At this point there were multiple customers still in the store using said machines. I suspect she wanted to go home early as her attitude was extremely unfriendly and she had a friend waiting for her. It was very humiliating and extremely unprofessional. Do not recommend.
If you are looking for a good overall place to do laundry, look no further. I have been going there weekly for the last 7 or more years. It's upbeat decor, cutting edge stainless steel washers and dryers, not to mention their very reasonable pricing. It's a family business run by the owner operators Jim and Saba. They are both friendly, outgoing and more than willing to accommodate you. Don't have to concern yourself with having the right change, loosing it in the machine, soap, bleach or fabric softener as they sell it. Lets continue to support Our Vancouver Community Owner-Operators. Thanks Laundry Valet for being their for us.
My BF used to go to this Laundromat all the time before we got a washer. We would still go here for blankets or if there was just too much laundry and we wanted it done and out of the way. The owner is just SO nice and the staff are great. Everything is clean and the machines are new and efficient. We recently moved to Kits and of course with all the moving, hit a point where there was just too much laundry to do at home so we tried the Laundromat in Kits....NEVER AGAIN. I will be driving over the bridge into the West End again any time that I need to use a Laundromat. It'll totally be worth the drive and the bridge traffic!
After more than a year charging me the same amount for the dry cleaning of the same clothes items, someone so called 'the manager' told me they have been charging me wrong and needed to increase the price. The so called 'the manager' seems to be, she never heard the word "Loyalty" before. She tried to make make it look like I was trying to screw the system or something, and never took her time to look in her computer(not sure if she knows how) the record by phone # or name, and check that actually I have been charged over and over the same amount for the same service.
Gave specific instructions to not damage a $200 garment and even left a note inside of the bag for the company to follow up on. I received the garment and it was damaged beyond repair, highly disappointing as I made it very clear how to take care of the article of clothing. Although they e-transferred me the funds for the retail price of the garment, I felt they did not really consider how much that affects their consumer, who is entrusting their clothing with them as a service provider. Given the above and professionalism, I will never be using them again.
This place is by far the best coin laundry I have ever used. I needed to do laundry half way through my trip in Vancouver (thank you campfire s'mores) and trekked through downtown to Laundry Valet. I was greeted by friendly staff that was helpful through out my entire time there. They made change for me and proactively helped me with the machines (the machines aren't particularly confusing but I happened to pick the only washer with a wonky door.) The WiFi and comfy couches helped the time fly! Also, the dryers were super efficient! 10/10 would reccomend.
Excellent place where you can wash and dry those larger items that don't fit in your condo's washing machine. The place ha a clean seating area and all of the machines are well maintained and 'new' looking. The place is a bit on the pricier side, I've always been skeptical about using other older laundromats out of the fear of losing or damaging expensive duvets etc. They have limited but free parking as well, which is unheard of in downtown Vancouver. They definitely need to up their Wifi game. I was the only one here and could barely get 0.5 Mbps.
I just went to the laundry valet for the first time today. I'm so impressed. Really nice, bright, clean space with comfy sofas, great machines that do the job quickly, very reasonable prices, super-friendly and helpful staff. I was please that they took debit, and they were even willing to run a tab for me and charge me for the final amount of quarters at the end, so that I only needed to do one debit transaction. It was faster and cheaper than doing laundry in my building, and there's even free parking in the back. I'll definitely be returning. :)
Went on a cruise and in Vancouver fir a few days. Needed to get laundry done before leaving on rail thru the Rockys. SIMER was very helpful. Guided us thru how the machines work to how much time needed. She was in high demand while we were there. 2 machines broke out of over 10 dryers. All washers working. This place is very busy with drop off and self service coin operated. If there would be one improvement I would say add more machines. More dryers for sure. Even with being so busy, we completed our laundry under 2 hours. Very good.
Three times I took my clothes to this laundry the first two times when I put my clothes in the dryer I had to add more time and more money and my clothes were still wet but what seemed strange to me was to find clothes that were not mine the moon you see I found the misfortune that I found someone taking my clothes out of the washing machine and putting them almost on the floor when I only went out to buy a coffee when it was finished washing I was very disappointed with this laundry there are other laundries with better service
For a coin laundry its an awesome place. The staff is suuuuper nice and the prices are reasonable. For the same price as other coin laundries you get: + Newer Machines + WiFi + Parking Spot in front of the door (Attention its only the 2 most right places in front of the laundry) + Super Friendly staff + Cheaper Detergent/Softner - they are not selling sealed packages, wich are 2 or 3 dollars, like in other stores, they sell it from bulk + Comfy sitting area + At all the place is clean and bright Would def come again
They could keep clear records of who uses each dryer for instance the dryers all have names and they could keep a list of what name what phone number what washer or what dryer they use that way they should assign us dryers people apart from each other at the dryer so that since I can't watch my clothes they would be more secure cuz as it stood something went missing and I don't know where it went it was something that I opened fresh out of a bag it was hundred dollar pair of pillowcases and now there is only one
Not that I visit Laundromats very often but this is by far the best one I've ever been to, super clean, beautiful floorboards, leather couch to relax on, all the machines are new (or at least look that way) and even have their own names... very affordable and high quality. And Jim, the owner, very friendly guy, chatted to us and discovered we were tourists visiting on our honeymoon and recommended places to go to, places to eat, etc. even for our future destinations! Do yourself a favour and visit Laundry Valet!
Coin operated laundromat. And a rip off. A load of wash was $5. The machine left the clothes pretty wet, which the woman at the counter said was completely normal. It would be ok because their dryer were good. So does it make sense that the dryers being "good" was ok, since the washers left the clothes too wet? The dryers didn't work that well either, and cost 75 cents for 9 minutes. After about 20 minutes, I took my damp clothes back to the hotel to air dry. Nope. Avoid unless you have no choice.
This Lady is Awesome she Will not send anyone that shows up away even if they're only open another half hour she will stay and help you and will not take a tip cause she's so humble. Thank you for staying late and working overtime even when we said that we would hang dry them at home. She insisted that we got our clothes dried properly she wouldn't have us leave without finishing. She helped us load the machines and pack up. This lady needs a raise Thank you from My Girlfriend and I.
Terrible - damaged my girlfriend's jacket from the dry cleaning service (see photo). They should have known to remove the belt before cleaning. Did not even offer compensation and just left a note on the jacket. Will not be returning. June 10, 2019 Update #1 - still have not heard anything from management March 17 2020 Update #2 - there was no attempt whatsoever by management to contact me. Everyone PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THEY MAY DAMAGE YOUR PRODUCTS AND NOT TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY!
I really like the valet service but unfortunately we lost a lot of clothes through this service. We worked out a deal that was semi-fair as they thought we were making it up, but some of those clothes can't be replaced. I work from home and am a homebody, I haven't changed outside of my house in years so there's no way we could of lost the clothing that disappeared over the duration we were with them. Since stopping the service the clothing disappearances has also stopped.
Been to this Laundry twice between Cruises. Found it to be an excellent laundry. Clean, tidy, efficient new machines of various capacities and friendly helpful proprietors. Made catching up with the laundry a breeze. Would recommend it to travellers to Vancouver needing laundry service. It's in the Davie Street shopping precinct across the road from the Davie Street Independent Grocer between Bute and Jervis Streets. Look for the blue sign outside the arcade.
The reviews are correct, just a great place that I feel happy to support. I love how they are solution oriented with little ways to make their service stand out. I moved away from downtown, tried to drop a few things into a laundry place at the corner of my block and the customer service was appalling (very snobby and rude to name a few things) so I left again with my items and made the trek to Laundry Valet via bus. Totally worth it!
I just moved to the area and have been in 3 or 4 times now. Always a great, clean, friendly environment. The owner's take the time to say hi, introduce themselves and make sure you have anything and everything you need. I actaully forgot my bag in there when I left and they kept it behind the desk for me. I thought for sure it was gone. I highly recommend them, amazing staff and a great atmosphere. Thanks!
We needed some emergency laundry done while we were staying at a hotel downtown after our 9-month-old got sick and barfed on basically all of his clothes (and some of ours). We called when they opened and we had our laundry picked up at our hotel and returned by dinner time. Everything was perfectly clean and folded; they even used baby-safe non-scented detergent. Amazing service and fair prices.
March 1 2018. Friendly helpful staff. Clean, well laid out. Do it yourself or drop it off. Excellent washers and driers in two sizes that take medium or large loads. Washers take 2 dollar coins so you don't need so many quarters. Sell small cups of wide variety of liquid detergents. It is not facing Davie St., enter the 1238 David covered walkway and go to the end, about 50 metres.
Top of the line large washers and dryers. I bring my comforters here every two months. Cost is about $10 per comforter for wash and dry. If you leave it, double that cost. And just to request they transfer your comforter from washer to dryer after completion is an additional $4. Clean, staff pleasant and lots of machines.. Have never waited for a machine.
They were great, but... Their quality has going down every year since 2013. I always give my white shirts to them for press and wash. In the past 6 months, I am not happy with their service at all. I might use their dry cleaning ( almost 2x compare to press and wash ) to give them one final chance before taking my business to somewhere else.
Highly efficient and well run laundrette. Staff were waiting to help as we arrived, multiple sizes of machines, with soap and anti colour sheets available on a per wash basis. Happy to provide change as well. Only potential issue is you may have to wait for a machine as they were very busy when we arrived (we didn’t have to ourselves)
Good shop. Terrible attitude from the lady at the front. Constantly complaining about her job, slow to respond, never says thank you, chit chats about employer and customers, blasts her annoying music on the job really loudly. Really a hassle to deal with this person but otherwise the place is clean and convenient location wise.
Jim and Saba (as they introduced themselves) are exceptional business owners. I have a laundry room in my building and still choose to come to theirs. It's clean, the machines are new and efficient and the staff are always helpful and kind! It's like an oasis for us clean freaks lol! Thanks for always being great, Alisha
Love the people (owner) because they are friendly, and trusting. The atmosphere is different then any other laundry service in the area, it differently not your typical. It very clean, has wifi, gossip magazine and a relax environment where one can go to study or catch up with friends while doing their laundry
So glad I found this laundry gem. Very clean and comfortable place with new machines and driers. Everything worked perfectly and it’s all is very well maintained. The ladies who worked there were super helpful and friendly. Wi fi and a comfortable area to sit, makes this place well worthy of five stars.
Highly recommend Laundry Valet. We used Laundry Valet instead of the hotel service. It would have been over $300 to use the motel service but less than $10 here to do ourselves. Washed and dried in an hour. All for a 20 minute walk, great staff very clean, plenty of food and coffee nearby.
Spotlessly clean throughout. Extremely helpful staff both times we’ve been there. Lots of machines: double load and jumbo washers and dryers, requires coins but you can easily purchase them. Highly recommend this laundromat - a vast improvement from one we went to in the hospital district.
Great laundromat. Get there early because it can be busy. The staff was nice and helpful. Everything seemed clean. Washers clean really well. It takes a visit or two to understand which machines work best for your needs because there are multiple sizes. Good parking. Coffee shops nearby.
We went there yesterday after positive reviews. We could have gone to a closer Laundry but that had terrible reviews. We are glad we did, spotlessly clean and owners were lovely and helpful. Plenty of machines and good pricing. The supermarket across the road is a little gem too.
I have washed and dried my comforters here, a few times. Always clean and I like that they have different sizes of machines. It's also nice to have Melriches a few steps away. Unfortunately, it is hit and miss with employees. They do their job but are often not customer friendly.
Cleanest and nicest laundromat I have ever been to. Love that they are open late for those late night emergencies. Owner was very personable as well. Tough to find a parking spot on the street but they have a small parking area in the ally right in front of laundromat.
Laundry time before we end our 3 weeks long holiday trip. The shop was busy during the time we did our laundry and there was no waiting/sitting area for you to wait as we had two loads for washer. For the dryer, we did add more coins as it didn’t dry enough.
This is hands down the best Laundromat in the lower mainland. Extremely friendly staff, great machines, nice place to relax while you are waiting for your clothes to finish. In addition to that, they are very honest people who try to help out in any way!
A well organized laundry place in Vancouver downtown Vancouver. They also offer dry cleaning services. They also offer wash, dry and fold services. Amazing and wonderful customer service. They were really helpful. I highly recommend this laundry place.
The owner stayed late so I could do my laundry. She did not need to and should could have given me the boot but she was kind enough to let me finish my clothes. I truly appreciate it. The store was clean and all the machines were new and in good order.
This is the cleanest laundry mat I've ever been in. I have no fear using their machines and the dryers. So many of the people who work there are multi-lingual which is really helpful: English, Japanese, French, and other languages. The best place.
I was staying in Vancouver as part of a 3 week vacation. It cost about 4.25 for a load of Washing (paid in quarters- they have change) and about the same for drying. You can buy soap and conditioner for about 1$ each. The stag are very helpful!
Just perfect for a mid-vacation wash! Place was clean and tidy; attendants were incredibly helpful and friendly. Reasonably priced ($5.75 for a medium load, about a suitcase full) and 25c per 3 mins of drying. Lots of machines so no waiting.
Only one washer big enough to wash a queen size comforter. I've washed a heavy weight one and a lightweight one and they both come out WET. By the time you wash for seven bucks and dry the thing for ten you might as well go to a dry cleaner.
Excellent wifi, clean machines, and it looks brand-spankin' new. Also they have couches that are pretty comfortable, and they even have a bathroom available for customers. I'd definitely recommend going out of your way for this laundromat.
It's an OK place with free Wi-Fi large dirtng area TV and detergent for 1dollar. The washing machine look new and clean and a small load costs 2.75... Can't complain. Also has parking in front if u don't want to mix... With the pool in it.
My partner and I were visiting from out of town and needed to do some laundry and had the best experience here. Really nice facility, friendly and helpful staff, lots of detergent options for people on the road. Can’t recommend enough!
Absolutely pleased with this place. So clean & fresh. All machines take quarters. Attendant on site so change given. Lots of washers for varying loads & dryers. Tucked away up a clean side walk. Situated between Bute & Jervis.
Extremely helpful and friendly staff. We had 12 days of laundry to attend to after cruise ship and train travel, and these people made it so nice and easy, I can't recommend them highly enough!! Definitely "tourist friendly"!!
Very helpful, very friendly. It's been a looong time since I last used a laundromat. Owner was super helpful in explaining exactly what I needed to do. I had no local currency either, which was ably handled with zero fuss.
The service is like home. Safe space that is clean warm and comforting. The staff make customers feel welcome. I highly recommend using their services. Friendly, polite, clean building, and space. Come and see. Cleo P
Nice, tidy, coin operated laundry. Really friendly staff. They will sell you detergents and offer change. 2 or 3 coffee shops in the immediate vicinity as well as a few local shops selling everything you'll need.
Very lovely lady working there who was very helpful, its clean and well presented, easy to find and all nice people using it. They have a nice seating/waiting area with couches and drinks, very well thought out.
My first experience using dry cleaning. It was very pleasant. They cleaned my coat in a couple of days for only $21, removed almost all the stains that I had on it (it's light color so they had a lot of work).
The staff here are absolutely amazing!! Really helpful and very reasonable prices! Best Laundromat I have been to in Vancouver. Thanks for making this New Zealander's stay a memorable one! U Canadians rock!
I am not familiar with laundry and it shows! I found a very helpful staff and a clean place. Not expensive and conveniently close to a coffee shop where you can wait for your laundry a cup in the hand.
Jim and Saba are great to deal with. We have been using their service for over 3 months and our laundry are always clean, neatly folded and delivered on time. They are always friendly and helpful.
Warm, bright, cozy and friendly. Staff (and fellow customers) are super helpful and kind. Also, they have wifi which makes doing laundry during a freelance work day a breeze. Highly recommend.
Laundry returned-neatly folded and stacked. Picked up at our hotel promptly and returned before 5 o’clock. Very nice people to deal with and very good at what they do. Highly recommended!
Very friendly atmosphere, the staff there was great assisting you with every question that you had about how to operate a machines and how much soap need to be inside the machines.
A nice and patient lady is there to help and suppport any first timers without coins, plus the prices are inexpensive. I’ll definitely come back to wash my comforter there! :)
Very clean but absolutely nowhere to sit! I suggest they edit the comfy couches, as they are non existent! Staff are very nice, and very helpful.
We found the staff extremely helpful. We were visiting from Australia and it was our first time using a laundromat. Thank you for all your help!
A good experience! It was busy, but I got what I needed done! I was impressed that the dryers actually dried in time unlike other laundromats.
Clean facility and machines that work great. There is something relaxing about this laundromat. I feel peaceful being here
Took two bags of laundry here, cost $80. Took two bags of the same size and weight to Kits Coin Laundry, cost $42.
Excellent place to quickly to do your laundry instead of paying through your nose at the hotels. Friendly service.
Great spot to take care of some laundry while on holiday. Staff was very friendly and made things easy.
The woman working here was extremely helpful to us as first time users of the laundromat. Thank you :)
Very friendly and service orientated. The pricing is very good for the service they offer
The staff has always been polite, professional and kind, great place will go to everytime
Very clean Laundry and friendly helpful ladies, highly recommended AAAA+
Staff was super nice and facilities were super clean.
Friendly helpful staff. Clean and reasonably priced.
Staff were polite and it was clean.
