I could not find a laundromat of the type you find in the US that is totally self service and takes quarters . Given that, this laundry service was a good option. They charge by weight I had what was a quivalent to 2 standard laundry loads in a typical washing machine. I just dropped it off and it was ready four hours later, folded and packed in plastic wrap. It cost me 142 reales Brazilian which is about equal to 70 US dollars. Quite expensive, but much much less than doing the laundry with the hotel that I'm staying at where I estimated that the charge would be 300 US dollars. So, I found this laundrymat convenient and the people were very nice. Of all the things I have spent money on while here in Brazil at the World Cup, this was one of the better ones (things are expensive here!).
