I have to start with this. Several years ago I got divorced and hired an attorney (not Jason Porter). In the end I feel like the guy only wanted my money and really didn't push anything. In the past 6 months I have went to Jason Porter to assist me with some modifications. In my life I have only had need of an attorney on a few occasions. But, last year when I found myself faced with a DUI arrest, I knew a lawyer was going to be a necessity. After several meetings with other attorneys whose tactics seemed to be to scare or intimidate me into using them, I met with Mr. Porter and another attorney in his office, Gary Schumard. The two immediately set my wife and me and ease and we discussed the facts of the case. When the state refused to drop the case or reduce the charges, Mr. Schumard got down to work and crafted a defense that never departed from the truth and pointed out the reasons why I was not impaired as accused. Over the course of a nine-hour trial, Mr. Schumard methodically picked apart the state's one-note case and -- in a daring move -- even put me on the stand to explain myself. In the end, the strength of the truth prevailed and the jury returned a Not Guilty verdict in just 20 minutes. Mr. Shumard's opening, examination and closing were so compelling that my brother-in-law, who was visiting from out of state, asked for his card in case he ever needed a lawyer while in Florida. This is the first time in my life I have ever had the need for an attorney in my life when I got pulled over for DUI in March. I meet with Gary Shumard and he told me from the beginning I was facing an uphill battle because I did what they call a double refusal. He was calm confident that he could get me a good result and gave me his personal cell phone because of my inexperience with the criminal justice system so I could contact him with questions and concerns. Which I definitely did text and call him from time to time and always received a prompt and accurate response. When I got into an accident, I didn't think I needed a lawyer. However, everything was so confusing and the insurance company was being very pushy. I'm not big on reviewing with one star but this law firm is not who or what they advertise...the 'Pick Porter' is not true or reliable. It's sad to mislead people that need an attorney an I did get swept up by the advertisement. 'Pick' Morgan and Morgan or anyone else if you care about your well being.

I met with Porter for a consultation. He was very empathetic and took his time to consult w. me. Also, he didn't give the standard answer of--we can't tell you the cost. Instead, he was able to give me a figure of about what it would cost. He was an attorney with experience, and he is very personable.
