Receptionist very nice person and helpful. Room very small unable to sleep due to being very hot in room and bed being uncomfortable and noise outside. Have small fan blowing hot air around the room, did have window open due to the heat in room very noisy out still at 04.14 on a Monday morning we are UNABLE to get back to sleep now. Bathroom not very clean floor dirty fan in there full of dust and not working become very hot in there when having a shower as there is no windows and the room being small. You have to walk to the restaurant for your breakfast not good if raining which it as been. No parking outside to hotel, Would not of stay here but they already taken our money from our card two days before "not happy with that when we was told on arrival" for £110 a night for two people we have stayed in better for less. Would not stay again but the only good thing about it was the young man on reception. Not had breakfast when writing this so can't comment on it. We have now had breakfast at olive deli. You can have only one thing off menu eg full English or just toast, drink can be only tea/ coffee or juice not both... Food was hot and ok. Inside is like a deli place sitting on stalls at a bench. If they are sending you to outside place to eat it would have been nice to have a restaurant were you could chill out relax before you are off on your journey not were it's to commercialised

We stayed here for three nights. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They helped me scan and print documents and gave me an envelope for free. That's lovely. The rooms on the other hand wasn't the best, they were clean, but there was some malfunctions. It's the little things that reduces the overall impressions and the rating. The dripping shower, the one non-working lightbulb, the paint stains and the markings on the walls just makes it a little "ough". And the lighting in the roof is blue, cold and ugly, wish they had warmer lighting. The place has potential, but isn't really reaching it. The locations is nice and very central, just a short walk yo every major sight in the city. Loved it. Also, the view of a brick wall was disappointing, but what can you do? You can't really move the building behind you. But room 25 isn't the best if you're there for the views. Other small remarks: The free tea was a nice addition. The selection of telly channels is great if you're into that. Wish we were notified about the noise from the construction work on the other side of the hallway. Overall an ok+ experience.

The MAJORITY of the double rooms have a SMALL DOUBLE BED! (there was a floor plan on the room door..) By booking directly on the phone (their website wasn't working) I had no proof of what room i had reserved, so that's what we got (a 5'10 and 6'2" couple!). Fortunately the receptionist showed us the only 2 rooms still available one of which had a standard double bed, so we have been moved and was ok for the night. Definitely not worth the cheap wine that we got by booking directly (although the muffin was good). Breakfast is offered to a near deli and we had been told they did breakfast till 3pm... turned out it was till 11am (they shut at 2!) cause it was bank holiday monday and were doing normal midweek hours, not weekend hours. On the plus side the double windows were good enough for us to cut out the outside noise (we got a room at the back though) and the location was perfect for us... you don't want to walk on high heels more than necessary..! If you go for this hotel, book online, a twin, at the back and go for breakfast before 11!

Check in was super late, the hotel staff receptionist wasn’t very accommodating the whole place was LOUD you couldn’t sleep even with ear plugs in was given a room down stairs right by reception so expected it to be a bit loud but it felt like everyone in and out until all hours was actually passing thru your room. We ended up leaving at 4:30am as the situation was more than unbearable and with a drive back to Cardiff with no sleep what so ever as I had no extra cash to stay any where else I had no choice but to drive back home. I then get home have the much needed rest that I thought I could have while staying here (boy was I wrong) I made a complaint through booking.com who have said I cannot be refunded not even half the money but not even an apology for the inconvenience so I would stay as far away from this hotel and booking.con as you can. Extremely dissatisfied

This was a sleep deprived horror, blood included. Me and my friend were highly allergic to the bed sheets, with burning rashes, and running noses and puffy eyes. When we brought this up with the staff, they offered no help. And told us they had no other available bedding. When we removed the sheets, to see if we could sleep and found blood and urine on the sheets and mattress. We flipped the matress to find more of the same. The room was very neglected, because even sleeping on the floor releaved dust, and weird stains. The noise levels were awful, there was absolutely no sound proofing. So we could hear clubbing until early hours of the morning very loudly. And word for word conversations outside our window.

Stayed at Le Ville recently while working away in Manchester. I was a bit worried looking at the reviews but overall the room was better than what I thought it would be. It does the job considering it was one of the most affordable options in Manchester that week. The cons were the size of the room which were kept to the minimum necessary, slightly noisy from the outside, quite noisy from the inside, especially the corridor. Other than that, the hotel is located in the LGBT district along the canal which is very convenient lively and pretty. Service was quick and staff was friendly. Looking at the reviews it seems the experience depends on the room you get.

The hotel is pleasant enough shower nice, tv and wardrobe. The room pictured was not exactly representative of the room I got. The price of £54 was actually £59.50 BUT you will not be able to sleep here. The people above sound as if they are in your room, and you can hear every word spoken in all adjacent rooms. The other quite strange quirk, other than the women enjoying a very vocal enjoyable night at 02:56, is the industrial emergency lighting, which the camera does not give justice to, which has an LED light, which is like a mini spotlight in the room. I've stayed in a lot of hotels and this is a first for me. Quite disappointed as I can not believe more people commented on the noise unless it was empty when they visited.

  • Rachael Thompson

Stayed here and it was fantastic from the get go the staff were very accommodating I wanna give special thanks to Natalie, Rachael, Tom, Kieran,Greg and Marta that I met throughout my stay. This hotel is a little gem on canal street their is noise outside the hotel by drunk revellers but we did have a problem with noise and spoke to someone on reception who was more than happy to ask the loud guest to keep it down for us, I do see a lot of mixed reviews good and bad if your ever want to book here give it a chance don’t let the bad reviews way this hotel down if there’s a problem speak to the staff they are more than happy to sort it out for you!

This is a hotel located in the heart of Manchester's Gay Village so there is a lot going on, and it doesn't offer any food. The rooms are modern and clean. Reception staff were friendly. The rooms are small and the bathrooms tiny with the smallest shower cubicles I have ever seen (smaller than the one in my caravan). The TV didn't work,a very cheap generic brand. I stayed there 7th July temperatures were hot and humid with no air-conditioning so the windows had to be open with all the partying in Canal Street going on till 2 am so it was very hard to get any sleep. Of course the hotel is not cheap I paid over £124 for one night I wouldnt go again

Not a good hotel. Cons: 1. Hair in our bed with crumbs. 2. Shower head broken and the shower door would not close. 3. Hair dryer in the most inconvenient place. 4. Our king bed was not a true king bed it was two beds pushed together and therefore there was a lump in the middle. 5. No iron or ironing board in the room. 6. No built in heating, only portable radiator and stand up fan covered in dust. 7. Also on Gay pride street, so if you not down with that pick a different place, like straight pride street wherever that is. 8. Loud outside of the room with lots of drunk people. Pros: 1. Staff was friendly. 2. Location close to the train station. I would definitely choose a different place if looking.

  • Konstantina Angel

Unfortunately although the hotel is at a great central location and staff seamed really friendly and helpful, I would never stay at this hotel again, even if I was paid to do so. The owner should consider a refurbishment to the hotel as well as insulation installation because not only your can hear everything around the room but I was so discussed to even sleep in there. Full of mould, no A/C, dust everywhere, dirty pillows, cracked toilet and many more ... so disappointed to even spend a night there and so happy I did not spend my own coin as I was only up in Manchester for work you should either consider changing things or honestly just lower down the prices to £30 if u want to be fair ....

  • Typhon Fox

Me and my partner got charged £195 for a 1 night stay in a 3 person room in the basement of the hotel. It stank of damp and the bathroom smelled even worse, there was a dehumidifier on constantly to alleviate the moisture but did nothing to get rid of the smell and with it being a basement room, there was no window to open so we couldn't spray anything to help get rid of the smell. Even if I were charged half price I would not go back there when I could get a better deal at the Premier inn or Holiday inn just down the road from there. I feel completely ripped off and I do not recommend anyone stay in the basement rooms unless some serious improvements are made to the ventilation and the pricing.

  • Javier Planas

£189 for a room in the basement. No heating, wifi doesn't work, and the "free bottle of wine" is free because it is absolute trash. Not to mention, there's hair and crumbs in the bed, and the bed itself is extremely uncomfortable. I guess that's all somewhat tolerable but when there's people legit partying in the hallway ALL night long you really start to feel like you might as well have chucked your money down the toilet and slept in an abandoned building. When I say partying, I mean I'm pretty sure I heard two people (if you could even call them that) banging in my hallway. That or they were aggressively "wrestling". Either way, 0/10 would recommend this place to anyone with an ounce dignity.

  • tracey craig

awful no sleep what so ever, there was a night club next door very loud to 3.30 in the morning.then your get the party goes up and down the hall coming in. room was tiny .to watch telly you have to sit up on the bed but it slides across the floor if you lean on the wall.bright lights shine through the curtains ,its like the middle of the day.and worse than anything its says free breakfast but they havent served breakfast since january.next morning when i said at reception that it was very loud i was asked did i not shut the window(i shouldnt have too)but couldnt anyway as it was broken. i honestly wouldnt stay there again if i got a room as a gift.

  • Marcin Tomaszowski

The staff at the reception desk was kind and helpful, our bathroom modern and clean but It is a noisy hotel, you can hear other guests talking, door banging etc. Unfortunately we stayed during the weekend and the noise from the disco pubs next door was unbearable till 5 am. The hotel guests who stayed in the hotel were also noisy, shouting, arguing with the hotel staff running about all night I can imagine they were there for the party. I don't recommend the hotel for the people who want to get some sleep at night.

The hotel is conveniently situated in the neighborhood of the Gay village. It is readily accessible from both Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Oxford road stations. It’s also close to some parks as well as China town. I was situated in a room on the first floor and the downside of it is that the noise from street is heard so much inside my room. Also, the only thing that secured my privacy from the people along the street are some curtains which could be an issue. But I would still recommend staying in the hotel. It’s fairly neat, Connor and Greg were helpful receptionists, and it had good value for money.

Fantastic hotel in a great city centre location. Very clean rooms, this made me feel very safe especially now during covid. Room has everything you would want: coffee, tea, kettle, TV, comfortable bed. Staff is absolutly briliant. Happy to grapo with anything. We enjoyed our stay. This is a great little 3 star property. Some will love it, others won’t. We prefer a personalised experience a boutique hotels can offer rather then a robotic experience of a corporate giant. Highly recommend Ville Hotel

I booked a twin room I got a double bed and what can only be described as a mattress on the floor. The room was in the cellar. They obviously have damp problems and there’s was a dehumidifier on constant. There was no window… well a 6 inch window that didn’t open and don’t let any light in. The heat of the room was unbearable. However, the location was spot on and the girl on reception was very chatty and polite. I think for the money I paid, next time I would book a brand hotel.. you know what you’re getting!!!

The front desk staff here are great, we had a very friendly welcome from a man friday evening and then the next day the lady was really helpful with arranging for us to leave our bags with her while we went and did some shopping. The hotel has a fabulous location, close to Piccadilly on Canal Street, excellent sound proofing on the windows but do be aware it was a little noisy overnight with people returning from nights out. The room was a little on the small side and the shower cubicle really was too small for the average sized man. For those reasons I found it over priced!

  • Almendra Raineri

Not recommendable. The room for three people was too small, so for the second night they changed us to a slightly larger room. The bed was uncomfortable and the sofa bed too, without mattress. The shower didn‘t drain properly, which causes the bathroom to flood every time you take a bath. Very noisy at night, we heared everything from the bars below and from the other guests who returned very late at night. It didn‘t have much place to stay than the room and the reception, that is small. The wifi dind‘t work well in our room. They didn‘t habe any elevator.

  • Carles Romagosa

Just Horrible - Filthy sheets and pillows, small room, no place to sit and use the laptop (even in the reception!), bad heating, worst ventilation (only a small window with a wall in front of it!) and probably the worst: very thin walls (I could't sleep because of the wild sexual activity of my neighbours first, and the disco party they had in another room at 3:00 am). The gay neighbourhood (cAnal street) might be friendly but it's absolutely not recommended if you are travelling with family, business or couple. Will never come again to this Hell.

· Location is in the village. Very close to everything and at Manchester Picadilly Station. There are restaurants nearby which are 100 feet away. I would recommend you visit Samsi- an Authentic Japanese Restaurant and is only 2 minutes away. As it is in the village, maybe you can request a room opposite to the rooms near the street. Staff- very nice, helpful and friendly. Room- it is clean and toilet is clean as well. · You can hear people passing by outside your room.

Very pleasant guy on reception. The room was very small and the window overlooked an outside wall very close by on which there was a bright security light shining into our room. The curtains were thin and too small for the window. I hung towels up to keep the light out. A decent pair of thick curtains which properly fit would make a big improvement. The room was clean, as was the bathroom and the mattress was reasonably comfortable. This hotel is in the Gay Village, which was lively and fun but don't stay here if you prefer a very quiet location.

Wow one of the worst places ever. They don’t tell you that the noise from both clubs next to it vibrate through the entire building and you are left awake till 4am on a Sunday. Asked for refund and they said no, policy is refund within 10 mins which you don’t have time to get in the room and feel the music. They also take your money out twice and say first is for authorisation. Then take your card detail and take money out for damages that were already there when you check in. Avoid like you avoid the plague.

  • Paul Handzel

I'd have given it 3.5 if I could. There's nothing really wrong here, nice friendly staff and great location for the city, but... Our standard room was tiny! Tho perfectly adequate for a one night stay if you're not planning on doing jumping jacks or anything. It could use a bit of a detail clean, the shower while usable had a very annoying break meaning the rain head didn't work ...and being a below street level room we had a pump in the bathroom that would wake the dead anytime you used water.

It is the worst experience I had ever. They arrange us to the basement and smelly room without window without any nootification. We need to keep the fan open overnight to get fresh air. And it still smells bad. The hotel is very noise, sound from other clients and the passagers. We can not sleep for the whole night. The cover of the bed is dirty. And before I ask, they even do not provide the hairdryer for us.

Gave us a king and a cot when we reserved a quad. No A/C and the fans they gave us didn't help. Bar directly outside meant so our family was breathing second hand smoke the whole night. The Saturday night crowd didn't disperse until about 4:30 am. The shower was gross. The shower wand flew off the hose and landed on my son's head when he turned it on. Water then proceeded to spray around the bathroom while my son cried in fear. All in all would not recommend.

  • Q8 Iron Arms

The room was so tight, dusty and not really clean. I also saw a spiderweb above the bed. Lack of ventilation in the underground rooms and smells like floor cleaners and dust. The toilet tank water pump is so noisy, it turns on approximately each ten minutes. The property surrounded by bars and nightclubs so this is an additional noise. I think this apartment suits people who looks for a (one night stand). I couldn't stay more than a night there.

Whilst I cannot comment on the stay in the hotel (as I didn't end up staying here) The staff are excellent in their telephone manner. I had numerous difficulties in coordinating my stay in Manchester with several calls to Le Ville Hotel. The staff were more than accomodating and pleasant with me on the phone and can only expect this to continue if you stay in the hotel. Greg, the manager was a star. Thanks Greg,

  • Matthew Tunnicliffe

Small but very clean in a great location in the centre of Manchester. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and it's only 5 minutes walk from Piccadilly Station. It's quiet too considering it's situated amongst the busy Canal Street bars, and obviously ideal if you fancy a late drink and aren't much for staggering a long distance back to the hotel. We've stayed there twice now and would certainly stay again.

  • Tobias Ackroyd

One of my worst hotel stays. The windowless basement room was so hot (in December!) that we couldn't turn off the dehumidifier (yes, the room needed a dehumidifier) and extractor fan. Both were very very noisy. The ceiling was low enough for me to bang my head. The noise and heat made it unbearable.

The stay itself was fine, my problem is that 3 days after staff requested to take a copy of my card for room security, I experienced credit card fraud for the first time as someone tried to drain £300 on Sky betting. I have contacted the hotel about this and heard nothing. I can't imagine this was a coincidence, I'd think twice and maybe just get a Travelodge!

I'd give it 3.5 stars if poss. Location is what makes this place because, other than that it's a bit pokey and it was £99...which is a little steep for what it was. Despite being small, It's nice enough and generally clean but the cleaning staff need to pay a bit more attention as although the sheets were clean there was a few short curlies on the sheets that grossed us out.

  • Nicola Floris

Literally the worst place I have ever been in. They dare to offer people rooms in the basement with no windows and a constant noisy turbine to pump air in. Basement rooms are unliveable. Bed and bathroom full of hair, room dusty. Staff at reception is excellent however.

Nice room, however some of the décor is need of fixing. The rooms themselves are quite nice and have all that you need. The bed is surprisingly comfortable. I was also very happy with the complimentary muffin. The only issue would be the noise pollution. That being said it is on Canal St so that would be expected. Aside from that and the décor issues a nice hotel

  • RKVK

This hotel is absolutely atrocious. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The room was small, and had black marks all over the walls. The bathroom smelt funny and one of the towels had a brown stain on it. The bed sheet also had orange stains on it. It felt like a prison cell and I couldn't wait to get out. Thankfully I was only there for one night.

The room we stayed in was modern however it was claustrophobic as there were no windows to open as it was at the bottom of the stairs below reception. The was noise all night from the night reception patrolling and people coming and going slamming doors. It says nothing on the website that it would be in the basement and the bed was rock hard.

Excellent location for walking access to Piccadilly train station, Manchester University, Art Gallery, downtown, Northern quarter, etc. My bed was comfortable, the room was compact, but enough: very clean shower, neat and tidy decor, and too warm (which is odd in English hotels). The staff were very gracious. I would stay again.

We stayed there for one night in the weekend. It was very nice hotel. The rooms just for one guest or very cozy couples. quite clean rooms. I didn't like their beds! Because it's a small hotel and it's next to some bars so there was a lot of disturbance during the night. but it's a good option for a short stay.

They can compromise your bank card! Extremely rude hotel receptionist Roco scanned my bank card under the table. He said that if he decides that I broke a window or smoked in the room, he will take money from my account. In my case no fraud could happen because I immediately blocked my card. But be careful!

Don't stay here if you are suffering from even the slightest OCD. This place needs Gordon Ramsey with a black light. People that rate with 5* must've never slept in a real 3* hotel. Dirty duvet, mold on walls, smell from restaurant in the room, very well hearable noises from the small club next door(maybe cause you can't close the windows properly even if You try hard). Not well working water in sink (cold water pressure almost not fealable, but extremely hot goes all the way).

Needed a cheap place to crash after we were let down by trains back to westhoughton after a gig. This place was cheap and cheerful and close to both the gig and buses so we can get back tomorrow. Room is basic, inexpensive, nice and clean and pretty much does what it says on the tin. Good stuff.

  • Terry Watton

Basic, clean and tidy, comfortable accomodation. Friendly and helpful front of house staff. Located right in the busy night life centre of Canal Street. Double glazing does a good job of keeping noise levels acceptable. Stayed here a couple of times now and always been happy with everything.

This hotel isn’t good for a business trip. Got woken up at 2:30am with a few youngsters fighting in the street outside my room Weekends it’s just noise. You can hear everything from the other rooms as well. Room was clean and had a nice comfy bed. Only book if you are out for a good night.

  • Greig Hamilton

The hotel was lovely, and it being on Canal Street made life a lot easier as everything was on our door step. The rooms were good, however, our room was in the basement with no natural lighting. The drainage pump also made a lot of noise when using the toilet, the shower or the sink.

  • Janelle Hoxworth

Lovely staff and stay, close to city centre, bars and restaurants. Clean room and bathroom, complimentary vanity kit was a bonus. Only downside was the fact that it was a bit noisey on Saturday night. Due to the bars and club's opposite the hotel. Would recommend for couples …

I had a really nice stay and think the staff are lovely. I had to extend my trip and they accomadated no problem at all. Room was big enough and nice and warm. I think the staff should be proud of there great customer service and making guests feel welcome.

  • Rob Geraghty

Amazing location, friendly staff, late check out available no problem. Room was not very clean, small stains on bed. Hair in bathroom. Under the bed was filthy. A lot of noise from inside the hotel keeping me awake. Good soundproofing from noise outside.

  • Morgan Barnes

The staff were friendly. We received a complementary muffin and bottle of wine. The location and room were excellent. Our room only offered 2 plug sockets, however the desk clerk provided an extension socket on request. Overall, an excellent hotel.

  • Billy Black

Very overpriced, crumby room, described as 'superior'. One electric socket next to door. Kettle had to be plugged in it, on the floor! Extractor fan not working in bathroom. An odour like a pizza restaurant permeated the room most of the time...

  • Kerri Wood

Awful , room wasn't ready , sofa bed doesn't fit two people on tiny!!! , birthday package was embarrassing and poor £20 for 3 banners rip of !!! Never come again

Great location. Right on Canal Street. Really nice staff. Very clean and modern bathroom. Walls in the bedroom could've done with a bit of a wipe down and there wasn't a view and the rooms are very small but good for the price and location.

  • Daria Su

Not bad for the price and location, Monday night was not so bad, although I would advice to think twice if you are booking for weekend as located in lgbt village. Room nice although bed was not comfortable. Refreshment s, towels, tv, wifi

  • Akunna Kanu

Noisy room couldn't sleep a wink. Don't give them your credit card, mine was compromised after they swiped it under the table. Be careful with ur card!!!!

It is a nice place to stay for 1 night. Friendly staff. If you are interested in nightlife, there is several bars and nightclubs just outside the door. The location of the hotel is in Gay Village. Very nice bathrooms, and rooms.

  • Sasha Jolliffe

Great staff, very helpful and attentive. Very clean. Shower is towels ate great! Speedy internet. Fantastic location. A bit noisy but it's in canal street so it was expected.

Great location, good place to crash if your staying a night or 2 for canal Street. Sadly the furnish isn't the best and nearby hotels are far nicer for the same/not much more with much better facilities

  • Colin Mills

Clean and tidy. Helpful staff. Right in the heart of canal street which is very lively. So don't expect a quiet nights sleep. Would stay again as it's a convenient location for Manchester Piccadilly.

  • Nick Carmichael

Wonderful little hotel along the row of gay bars. Staff was quite please and despite checking in quite late they had muffins and wine for us. The convince to the bars makes for a very fun night!

  • The Sassyharley

The room was so warm even though the windows was open. Staff was lovely. The place is very run down but mostly clean.

Great hotel. Conscientious and helpful staff. Nice basic rooms all (I think) have a canal view. My room was over the nightclub entrance but I heard little to disturb me.

A very clean and tidy room in a prime location. Staff were informative and helpful. Would definitely stay again.

We’ve got a room in the basement. Nice, clean room but a bit too stuffy (because no window).

  • Martin Li

Don’t stay here if you want to rest. Next to a disco. You are not going to sleep at all.
