The place looks nice and all the paperwork to transfer my mom to another country was quick. I’m giving only one star because I was really disappointed when I saw my mom in her casket. I thought she was someone else, I know people look different went they pass away, but who ever did her makeup did a horrible job. I’m glad I had some makeup in my purse to fix her, otherwise knowing my mom she wouldn’t forgive me if I would have left her like that. They only drew a really thin lines on her eyebrows kind of red colored, and her lips had no shape at all they even had pictures I sent). I did my moms nails few days before she passed and she had a beautiful salmon color and they ruined it by putting a maroon over it, I’m not mad about the color they used, but I’m really upset the way they did it, they didn’t even cover it right, I think a 5 year old would have done it better. You could see both colors on her nails (the one she already had and the other one) it looked awful. And yes! I’m worried about these little details because I know my mom wouldn’t like it, but I’m glad I was able to fix it right away, except for the foundation they used, it was a different tone. I’m pretty sure my mom is so thankful that we made her eyebrows right like she used them. Not sure if it was a guy (male) who does the makeup, but you can tell right away whoever did it, he/she sure does NOT know how to or what they’re doing. Besides all that the guy that was in charge, he was real nice at the beginning of service, but then when we started with the mass he didn’t let in a few people in the room until the mass was over. And he was kind of rushing us cause they close at 7pm. These people don’t understand that most of won’t see my mom again, I know there’s a schedule to follow but y’all need more humanity, compassion and understanding. Another think, the tv they have was out of signal, I wasn’t able to connect my phone to it, I had a beautiful slideshow prepared and it failed. I’m just really disappointed for a few more details, but these are the most important to me.

EDIT: When my father in law picked up his death certificate a few days after the service, the people here did NOT apologize for anything that happened, instead asked him to ask ME TO TAKE DOWN MY REVIEW!! Are you kidding?! You don't act like this to a grieving family! Please do not give these compassion less monsters your money! They will not honor your loved ones!! Avoid this place!! I would give this place a zero stars if i could!! Not only was it dirty, floor were sticky, furniture was unkempt, chapel was too small, the staff was unprofessional especially the pastor. They did not do a good job on my brother in laws makeup, he did not look like himself at all. The priest basically yelled at us saying the reason my brother in law died was because he didn't have Jesus in his heart. (And also spouted off about propaganda, tv, music, and even ABORTION). His death was a suicide. This was TRAUMATIZING to our family and friends. I could not believe this was even happening. He did not honor our brother, and many people left as he screamed at us all. Lots of the tiles were broken, lamps were obviously broken, they played WEDDING music, couldn't figure out how to do the slide show and during the whole thing, we were unsure if they even had the plot signed off on by the original owner. We were unsure if we could even bury him until basically the last minute. Even the young man who lead the funeral (I believe he said he was 26?) tried to connect to all of the young people in the service and made this into a lecture about drugs and alcohol and also said that he "sees gays on tv and doesn't want his kids to see that" OUT OF NO WHERE. This funeral was a long night mare. If it wasn't for the cheap burial plot at a particular cemetery (where my other brother in law is buried) we would have NEVER had the service there!! Even then, they were unsure if we had the rights to bury him until literally less than 24 hours later. If you want to honor your loved one, do NOT go Leal Funeral home. Yes you will save some money but you will be traumatized.

PLEASE, OH PLEASE DO NOT USE LEAL IF YOU WANT TO HONOR YOUR DECEASED LOVED ONE!!! THEY ARE THE WORST!!! THEY WILL SCAR YOU FOR LIFE!!! It's so hard to discuss this place without getting intensely angry. When our 2 year old daughter passed away, we went to Leal because they promised they would provide a great service at a good price. The issue was the day of the funeral. We originally wanted to have the funeral right away after she passed but we decided on embalming seeing as how we had family coming in from out of town that wanted to see her and we wanted to accommodate them, we decided to go with the embalming. The day of the funeral, they (Leal Funeral Home) showed up more than 2 hours late, so basically we had to cancel the viewing. Instead of it being a day where we could honor my daughters life together as a family, I had to sit there and wait for her body to show up and explain to all my family why the viewing would have to be cancelled. After the funeral, I reached out to Leal to try and see if we could get a refund for some of the services seeing as how they were not provided in a way that would honor the deceased. They refused and instead said they would instead offer another memorial service for us. As we didn't want to relive the funeral again, we refused. I am not sure why Leal would not work with us, but I was extremely disappointed with ALL their services. One of our friends recently lost their daughter to the same disease that my daughter had and they went with a different funeral home. It was the best decision they made. PLEASE, OH PLEASE DO NOT USE LEAL IF YOU WANT TO HONOR YOUR DECEASED LOVED ONE. Update: it has been 2 years since my little girl passed away. I cannot help but feel so angry every time I think about her funeral. What Leal Funeral Home did scarred me to the core. I only hope that no one else goes through what my family and I went through. THEY ARE HORRIBLE!!!

Before we went here i had heard and read so many bad reviews, still we gave this place a chance and the benefit of the doubt bc some of our friends said it was cheap. (Actually not so cheap) Well turns out the reviews were right! We should have stayed away from this place. We didn’t go elsewhere because we wanted and needed to put our family member’s body to rest. They were to have ship his body to another country and it took them weeks, they never got the paper work on time to be able to have the viewing almost a month later we were able to. While at the viewing i had to keep asking for Kleenex boxes, we made a video to play with memories and theirs would not work and it was outdated. There was a lady that was supposed to be there during the whole time to assist us in anything we needed, she was no where to be found she left an hour after the viewing started. Also the floors were soo slippery in the kitchen area that i almost fell, thank god no one did. The body of my family member was starting to decompose because he had been there for so long. When he got to our country he was already in bad shape. So much to say that this place is quick to get your money but the service was horrible, very disorganized and not attentive at all. Save your self the hassle and make sure you enjoy the last moments with loved one without stress like we did. All we wanted was for him to finally RIP. Stay away!!

Went to a funeral here and the staff was completely unprofessional. Not dressed well, tried to rush people out the second the funeral ended (stating the doors were locked, etc). I understand you have a schedule and need things to go smoothly but it's the WAY they did it. Someone (in a polo) came out and explained who leaves first and who leaves last. No, "this now concludes the services of mrs so and so, on behalf of leal funeral home. I'd like to thank you for trusting us with the care of your loved one, etc, etc" and then give us directions. They basically said it's over and gtfo. -_- no tact, no class, no compassion. He rudely and loudly nearly shouting excuse me and pushed his way through to the front to tell us to gtfo. No patience. I gave 2 stars though because she did look good the quick few seconds I caught of her when we were rushed out. Edit: I dropped it to one star when I found out from the grandson of the deceased that they asked him quite a few times in the middle of the funeral for the rest of the money that was owed (cash only apparently) when he paid more than half of it a few days ago. He's not going to leave the funeral of the woman who raised him to get you cash. Have some damn respect and faith in your customers.

We planned on having our relative cremated but wanted to have a viewing we knew she would not look the same but there was such a drastic change in her appearance and felt the organizers at the funeral home could have been more forth coming before taking our money. After the fact we were given an explanation of why she appeared the way she did, again should have been explained in the beginning. Had we know she was going to look the way she did we would have never had a viewing and in the end decided on just having a closed casket. The makeup and hair was poorly done. The person in charge of organizing the video collogue and Zoom invite told us the service could be seen and heard with the funeral homes provided television and speakers, which did not happen and those in attendance could not hear the service. Further the service was delayed 45 minutes because the original dial in information did not work. We were told a song had to be cut out because the daughter requested it be removed, which was a lie. Just an all around bad experience to an already sad situation and would never recommend this place to anyone. Use at your own RISK!

J Leal Funeral Home did an EXCELLENT service with my father's cremation and funeral service. GM Eric Izquierdo attended my call 09/03/20 the day my father Fredy M. Gonzalez passed and immediately had a member of his team pick up my father from his Pasadena home. Felix Montoya did an EXCELLENT job going over my options and he felt my pain and offered to pray with me. Finally 09/09/20 Wednesday my father services was held and I had FDIC David L. Jones assist my fathers services and Mass held at St. Cyril Catholic Church. David was very attentive and caring, his a professional that dedicates his time to helping people when they have a loss. He is empathetic and answered all my questions. Today I picked up my fathers ashes and I received everything I asked for. I cannot express how thankful I am for being referred to this funeral home. I recommend this place, to the owner Joaquin, you have a great team! You should be very proud, everyone treated me with utmost respect. I highly HIGHLY do not recommend this funeral home, if you wish to transport your deseased family member to another country. As soon as we gave them the check, they were quick to deposit it to the bank the same day and did not answer our phone calls for the next 2 days. Everytime we called to get answers, the best response they could give was "we're professionals". They took my grandma from the morgue, just to keep her at an unsafe temperature and did not begin to prepare her body until 3 or 4 day after she had be removed from the hospital. My grandmother arrived, already decomposing when it had only been a week since her death (bodies can last so much longer if conserved correctly). They covered her body as much as they could, to avoid us from seeing her skin rotting etc. We are very upset with the outcome of all of this. We tried to take her to another funeral home but they suggested to leave her to them bc they didnt not want us seeing the damaged that had already been done. Please do not relay on this funeral home if you're in need of transportation.

Words cannot express how thankful I am for Leal Funeral Home. I visited and spoke with a few places and none had given me that feeling that I was looking for. The feeling that I was at the right place. Somewhere where my loved one was going to be taken care of. Immediately after meeting Lilly Leal, my family and I felt what we were hoping to feel. We knew we were at the right place and they proved us correct. I am so grateful for all that they did for my loved one. From the start, they walked us through the process in detailed, Didn't rush us, and helped us send our loved one home in the most precious way. We couldn't have asked for anything else. Thanks for the fast response service in coordinating ever aspect and angle of the funeral. Very well communicative, everything was done accordingly to plan and well timed, was kept well informed via text message and phone calls.He was picked up from hospital and they took care of all paperwork. We viewed him and then they shipped him to Mexico Veracruz via airplane. Everything was done according to plan. And executed accordingly, Definitely recommend. Paid a decent price for priceless service. definitely much better service for the money well spent. Others wanted 40 percent more. Leal funeral home is our go to in situation of hard times. Thanks!!!

I do not recommend this place, just because they promise the best when you go the first time, then they take advantage of the family's feelings. Then they do whatever they want. They will ask you how you want the body embalmed. But like I said they do whatever they want to do. They don't do what you ask for. Plus the protector doesn't work so you can not see any of the memory pictures. And one las thing that I want to say is that all they want is money they don't care how you feel is their job and they do it every day....I would definitely will not recommend anybody to go there. Please make sure you find a good place for your lovely one.

I would like to highly recommend Leal Funeral Home for everything that they did for our family and father. They made a very difficult situation less stressful. Our father passed away due to Covid complications, and they carefully and safely arranged all our needs. Our family had used them before, but it hit so much harder when it was my father. From the beautiful casket to cremation care, everything was done with the utmost respect. Our requests were all handled professionally and with care. Very professional!! The owner was a true blessing to me and my family!! They were there for us and helped us out when they didn’t need to! We lost a very important person in our family and the family made me responsible to plan a special funeral for my niece . I called several places but even from that 1st call to Leal Funeral Home I knew this was the place . I highly recommend Leal funeral home where I was treated like family. Best funeral home in covid time. My father passed in Houston due to El Paso Texas did not had ICU beds for Covid patients. Erick took our call on 11/23/2020 at about 2:00 a.m. and at that time he gave me my options and right away a quote and offer to send my Dad cremated remains to me as soon as death certificate was sign. Erick was very attentive and caring very professional all the time. I was very blessed to find Leal funeral home and from the bottom of my heart want to say thank you and God bless you.

My grandmother's passing was sudden, we are a family of over 60 people and Leal Funeral Homes was very helpful. Aside from being courteous to all our guest, the staff was very accommodating. My grandmother was dressed and done beautifully. Every detail was well done, from painting her nails, hair, dress, and accessories. Prayer cards were so elegant and well worded. Letters for work, school, and travel where available upon request. Prayer room is well fitted and beautiful. Kitchen area and resting rooms are big for children. I would refer them to just about everyone I know.

No one is ever prepared for losing a loved one, especially getting the service and everything required to send your loved one on their last journey. I was incredibly lucky my family found J. My mother passed away two years ago and we held the service here. They were nice at first and allowed my dad to pay what he could, and the rest in payments. However the day of the funeral they decided that they needed more money in order to bury my mom the next day. Because they changed their mind and we had no more money they cremated her. They ruined the funeral and caused so much stress for us who were suffering already. And they took forever to give us her ashes and death certificate!!

We lost my father suddenly last month, and we have never had to personally plan a funeral for anyone in the family. However, we were comforted by the attention and guidance we received from the staff at Leal. Specifically the help from Irvin Salmeron, who was attentive to our needs, explained everything with patience and detail, and made sure everything went smoothly. His help during the planning stages of the funeral, during the funeral, and even after the funeral were Godsent.

Well today we put to rest our 2 year old loved one. But they forgot to schedule someone to make the arrangements at the cemetery. We had been waiting since 10:30am. Just so they can point fingers to City of Cleveland and the City to the funeral. Finally at 5pm they showed up to start making the hole. Just sad that we had to go through all of this. Needless to say this will not stay this way. Because something needs to be done. Someone has to be held accountable for this.

The Leal family have been a huge blessing for me and my family. When my husband unexpectedly passed away, they welcomed us with open arms and made the process as painless as they could make it. Today i laid my mother to rest By Leal funeral home . and from start to finish it went flawlessly. funeral director Joe Garcia hit a home run with our family he took it upon himself to make very signal detail to go with out a hitch. when i read the reviews i did had doubts, but i learn that there haters out there that will write things that are not true. This is a real good funeral home. Well respected. We just layed my dad to rest and they took very good care of him. They even drove him back home which was 2 hours away. I contacted Mr. Kay of Leal funeral home for a burial quote before my husband Anthony passed away. Mr. Kay was extremely professional, knowledgeable and precise. He answered every question I had and even enlightened me on things I had not even thought of. He took care of my concerns of the memorial and social distancing even changing the venue for us. We unexpectedly loss our Father in February right before the freeze and Leal helped us with his cremation and service. The location is great. Lilly was very sweet and kind. The day of the funeral there were a couple things that were not in place as we asked but they quickly fixed it and made it right. The price is affordable compared to everything else around. These people are crooks. They take advantage of people who are grieving the loss of a loved one. They have a lot of people in the backrooms watching you on camera and others eavesdropping on you so they can gather information on you convince you to use them. Their business practices are similar to the mafia or organized crime practices. They should be investigated by law enforcement.

Leal Funeral Home and Mr. Leal were a blessing to my family and I during my brother's passing. They assisted us so much and Mr. Leal treated us as family. I heavily recommend Leal Funeral Home. Horrible place!!! Do not hire their services they only take you money and promise a "packaged deal" and they don't fully provide with what they agreed on. They cheated us with $500 dollars with a service that they didn't provide!!! They also said they couldn't refund us the money. So please any one don't hire these thieves. We received great professional but more than anything real help during the sudden loss of a love one. We like how professional and easy to reach they were we didnt feel like another transaction they treated us with respect and like family. on 6/16/2019 ~2:15pm Driver of your vehicle Cadillac need to be train to drive and be trained on driving safety. They change lanes without signal almost run another car off the road. drove on the lane line from about 1/4 mile, and cross double white line when getting on to the highway. On top of that it look like they where on their phone (texting)

Recently received several follows up regarding a policy on file. When attempting to get more details on what was needed and why, was handle with rude and aggressive manor. Stephanie made no effort to listen to my concern, and made it a point to state they had to right to refuse service. We will be looking at different location for arrangements.

Leal funeral home did an amazing job helping me with my fathers funeral. Irvin Salmeron was beyond helpful and kind. He answered all my questions quickly and was very patient with me. I recommend him 110%.
