Post-COVID experience: we ordered food to-go from a food truck and planned on going here to get a drink with our food to support local businesses during quarantine (for one of us, Lefty's was regular go-to in the past). It looked like a safe place given the seating is completely open-air and outdoors. We arrived with food clearly in hand (the bar tender saw our large bag of food) and ordered two drinks. They were 9 dollars and served in tiny plastic cups, the size you would expect to get for a free drink on a flight. When we sat down, we saw the "no outside food or drinks" sign at the table. There was no sign at the bar or near the "entrance." We ate anyway because there was no one else there and the bartender was clearly aware of our food. After about five minutes, the bar tender stomped over and, with noticeable hostility, told us that no outside food is allowed, conveniently after we had already ordered two overpriced drinks and settled down to eat. Clearly, Lefty's is not concerned about getting business in a post-COVID world and accordingly won't be getting any from us ever again. *In case the owner is curious, this experience happened on 8/20/20 around 4:30.

I came to this bar with a friend just a couple days ago. I ordered one drink that was only $17. However, the bartender charged me for my drink and my friend’s drink but I didn’t notice till I saw the end receipt right after I signed. I brought it to the bartender’s attention, she looked very annoyed and said “well why did you sign it”. I don’t feel I need to explain myself for her mistake. She didn’t say anything to me about getting me the money back and then just pushed another receipt at me to sign. I figured it was the refund but when I checked my card, she had just charged me again for another drink that I did not have. Not only was I overcharged and then double charged but I was also met with very rude service. The bar had great atmosphere but I wouldn’t go back.

Cool spot. Beautiful patio. Bartender was friendly. Music was loud - perfect volume for a packed house, but we were the only folks there. Whoa overpriced. 4 wings for $12? Passed on that and looked to be impressed by the cheeseburger. 6oz portion is small for the price. But the beef was... deep fried? Had a crust all around so thick it was like a chewy rind. Had to really work through it. Toppings on burger were nice: shaved onion, good tomato and sauce was solid. Opted for the potato bun, which might be a Martin's or a really solid house replica. But man the beef was disheartening. Plenty of better options within a few blocks for a much more reasonable price. Not a bad spot for a beer, but would not return for dinner.

Underwhelming... I just drove in from Dallas looked for a nice spot with a cool vibe to grab dinner & a drink. The bartender wasn’t rude but he wasn’t super friendly or inviting either. The food wasn’t bad but it wasn’t great. I ordered the mango habanero wings only to realize they give no flats and it was more mango than habanero. And same for the drink not bad yet not good. And as I left I went to say “Bye” and i’m pretty sure he didn’t even look up. Maybe this is just the Austin vibe IDk but didn’t give me the warm fuzzy feeling not even after having a drink. Great set up they just need to work on their food and drinks and customer service in order to get 5 stars

I hear the drinks are normally better but I visited during their Haunted stint. Not going to lie - it was creepy. I’m not a Halloween person in general but the dolls, were a little overboard for me. Which for some - right on the money. Not gonna yuck your yum - I can appreciate it. My frozen strawberry margarita tasted overly sweetened- it tasted like too much sour mix in there too. Got a headache from the frozen-ness and the sweet tartness. Great spot though! I like that there is ‘overflow’ up at the hotel balcony. Looking at pictures when it’s in the normal set up - it looks like a nice happy hour place.

Lefty's is an open air bar with patio seating in the back. It has a cool and casual vibe. Also, valet and garage parking! Such a convenience in that area! The bartenders, Rob and Desabian, provide friendly, southern hospitality, while guiding you to the perfect frozen or custom cocktail. They use fresh squeezed juices which really enhances the quality of the drink. They also have several beers on tap and wine too! The curly fries and dips are definitely addictive! Go check this place out! I will be back soon! #LeftysBrickBar #TequilaPaysTheBills #FreshSqueezed #LimeJuice #MezcallionStallion #DrunkInDisneyland

Cool looking place with and indoor/outdoor concept. Super smokey... Even with an open roof above the fireplaces. We went because we saw pizza, sandwiches and wings on their menu. 3 of us total.. The couple I was with got wings and a slice of pizza. (Wings were $16 for 6 wings, and a whole pizza was $32 so expectations are high) -slice was $4.50 I got pizza fries and they truly sucked. I ate slices of pepperoni until I finished my beer so I could leave. Other couple said the wings were a super let down and they were very grey and small. ... Pizza was solid, but overall a waste of money. Bartender was friendly!

We visited Lefty's for Rudolph's Road House. This holiday pop-up features a ton of festive cocktails and amazing holiday decor. This East Austin bar does not disappoint. There's a second-story bar at the back and almost every drink is served in a holiday cup. Not only do the beverages taste delicious, but they are also strong. Will definitely be coming back after the holidays. Instagram: food_and_travel0

I love the staff here! They are friendly and accommodating (though don't expect anyone to kiss your rear end). If your a LA native don't expect the seasoning level to be the same in the food here as in traditionally made Lousiana recipes. This is definitely an Austin Spice/seasoning level as far as the creole/Cajun inspired foods. The drinks are always tasty and the happy hour is well worth a short trek off of the typical sticky, stinky 6th street fare.

This bar deserves more attention than it earns. The menu and drink list isn't extensive but it makes up for this in taste. The Drunk in Disneyland is a fantastic rum based smoothie booze cocktail and the best I've had of that kind. It's dangerous. The other drinks are good, but not great. The outdoor area is a lightly covered indoor and larger outdoor area. Parking is available on the street, but arrive early because this is a popular area!

Great chill environment and customer service. Pretty spacious, clean and open spaces allowing the place to be safe in terms of Covid (fkCovid). The fire pits were lit allowing a pleasant warming sensation and a nice smell. I can't describe it, but it wasn't regular wood burning smell. We will come back for the nice environment and the delicious beer. The food looks delicious, didn't try it this time, but looking forward to it.

I recently visited Lefty’s for drinks and food. I love the area and got a good reference from a friend. I was served by Benji, who was very friendly and attentive. He was frequently coming by the table to make sure we were ok. That’s good service! I will definitely go back and hope to see Benji working again. The food was excellent and a fair price. I liked the vibe of the space. I will probably may this a regular lunch spot.

I was discriminated against by Jamie in front of the entire crowd. As I was asked to leave and walking out- I had multiple people come out and ask if I was okay and say they couldn’t.believe that happened. We live in 2023 - this type of behavior is not acceptable and moving to Austin - I expected better. I am not one to normally comment but this is still beyond belief to me.

Totally underrated spot for a drink in east Austin! Laid back atmosphere and amazing drinks. I drove here specifically to have a Pablo Espresscobar after I had tried it months later and could not stop thinking about it. I ended up trying a couple of other drinks and they did not disappoint. Only ever tried the fries but the food always comes out hot and fresh. Start your Sunday funday here!

  • Alexandra Rodriguez

Definitely not worth the hype. Went Monday and service was awful. Their Halloween drinks are also not great. Food is overpriced for what it is, ordered cheese fries for $9 and it just tasted like frozen fries with a slab of sliced cheese melted on. Definitely won’t be coming back. The only thing cool about this bar are the decorations.

I was there for the Chinese New Year party. Overall it was fun but they didn’t think some things through. Everyone was able to get into the VIP area. If not for that the food choices would have been horrible. They were initially serving the drinks in paper cups that looked like Chinese takeout, they leaked. The place itself has a huge patio and the upstairs was nice.

  • Adam Hook

This place is great. The chef is awesome between the wings, burger, chicken sandwich, and fries I can be happy everyday. But I can’t say more about the people. Desabian “D”, Rob, and Noah just bring the place to life and make you feel like you are special. If your local make this your weekly weekday spot, if you are out of town come in for a few on your night out.

Lefty's is an absolute gem in East Austin! The Christmas decorations are a festive wonderland, providing endless photo ops. Their creative Christmas-themed drinks are a delight, and don't get me started on the delicious curly fries! A must-visit for a jolly good time! Oh and dog friendly!!

This bar had such an amazing vibe! This is where you go to take in the lively, friendly atmosphere of Austin. NO LIE- the bathrooms were cleaner than the 5star steak restaurant I was at earlier for dinner. BENJIE topped it all off with his cheery disposition and masterful drinks! So much warmth and charm- I will be back when I come through Austin again!

The Best Pizza in town hands down if you actually know what Real Pizza is East Coast style. Chef Carson kills it with his recipes. Great patio area, friendly bar tenders and such a fun time every time. Make sure to order the pizza well done and a little crispy (trust me I know real pizza) and you will keep coming back!!

  • Elissa Streater

Plenty of outdoor seating. The bar has a relaxed atmosphere that is perfect for getting together with friends for a quick drink and/or food. I was pleasantly surprised with their Hot Chicken Sandwich. Lefty’s has been the first place I have found in Austin that makes true Nashville hot chicken. Overall a great find!

  • Jon Bristol

best freakin time here on a Tuesday night. not only do they have really fun trivia, they got great drinks (frozen margs), amazing pizza ($5 a slice), and really awesome staff. Benjie specifically was really cool and contributed a lot to our already great night. great drinks, great food, great vibes. def recommend

Cool spot with friendly staff. Not sure why they're only open until midnight on a Friday. Tried to order food but was unable to. Just made it in time for last call at 11:30, one of the frozen drinks was sold out and the draft beer I got wasn't cold. Not a great experience but I'll still give it another shot 7/10

  • Robert Westwood

Garbage service. The hipster old man with the buddy Holly glasses will look through his nose at you for ordering a drink in a way he doesn't like and give attitude all evening. Beverages are over priced, stick to the bar across the street, which had an infinitely better atmosphere and experience overall.

  • Annette Shuler

Friday night was my third visit to Lefty's. Great chill vibe and hands down BEST frozen margarita on 6th ST. Chilli salt is on point!!! Gotta try the burger and wings by the pound-delish! Thanks Rob and Hernan for great service. Perfect spot all around to enjoy a beautiful October night on the East Side.

  • Oziel Villalobos

1st of all, service is great! Benj and Syde were great, made sure our drinks and food were on point. My wife and I had the Pep&Pep, and that pizza was delicious, the tomato sauce and dough had a delicious flavor and texture! Very NYC fell to it, pet friendly and great atmosphere! Highly recommend it!

Nice place, nice atmosphere, bartender was great. Margaritas were great except for the price. That's the only drawback about the place, it's a little pricey, at least for me. But we had to go there to pay tribute to our beloved Alaskan Malamute who had recently passed. His name was.... Lefty.

The staff is the best part of this bar. Dee makes the best mocktails I’ve ever had. Sid and Benji are always so friendly and Noah is super sweet and always talks to me. I come here for the atmosphere and friendliness. This place is extremely underrated to say the least!!!

  • Heather Soto

Benjie made this place the best!! He made the best drinks and made us drinks to match us best. The wings were amazing!!! And the spicy ranch with the fried pickles….. don’t get me started! Please come here and meet Benjie! He will truly make a difference in your life!!!

New bar on E. 6th with frozen drinks and cocktails. Open-air so bring sunscreen if it's sunny. They have plenty of fans to keep you relatively cool and a big water tank. Bartenders served us relatively quickly. Bar is right in the middle of all of the E. 6th St action.

  • Charlie Neal

Bartenders were great but there were 2 of them. 2. With no bar backs on the busiest night of the year. Internal layout is bad. Front of the house is doing great but management needs a total rethink.

Such a great time! We stopped in twice on our short trip to Austin visiting from Canada. Benji was an absolute pleasure and riot! He made our trip extra special, so much so we didn't want to leave and ended up staying for a few more rounds. Definitely coming back.

  • Francisco Cifuentes

The staff here is great, top notch; they know the venue, be cool and they'll help you out. Otherwise just LOVE the architecture here, perrfect during and post Covid. I'll come here even when covid is done, staff is great, architecture is great, product is good.

  • Andrellana Munn

Been to Lefty’s a handful of times. Rob is great, very attentive and makes great drink suggestions when someone, indecisive like me comes around. Customs cocktails are always delicious. Always a diverse crowd, just an all around great spot for a few drinks.

Benji the bartender is amazing. He makes the best cocktails and he makes you feel like your his best friend even if you just met him. I bartended in Vegas for 10 years and i can say that his cocktails and customer service are the best I've seen in years.

  • Joe R.

I was intrigued by their sign upfront claiming to have the best margaritas in town. I ordered a strawberry double while my wife ordered a spicy double. The drinks were mediocre at best. There are much better margaritas in Austin than these.

  • collin w

Drinks were great however its hot as hell in the summer even later in the evening. Will definitely frequent this place again once it get cooler. I do however like the seating and found the bar staff to be extremely friendly and helpful.

This place is so fun! Great open patio, food is bomb, and amazing service! We came here on a Monday and had a fabulous time! Benjie served us cocktails , beers, and fun shots! When in Austin make a stop for Monday fun day!

  • Andrea Fee

Pros: tasty, strong cocktails and nice patio. Wings and curly fries are good too. Nice spot for an outdoor sittin and sippin sesh. Cons: there's usually 1 person tending bar so the line gets super long and can take awhile

  • Crystal Sone

This place is AWESOME! The bartender, Rob, with his great customer service, friendly vibe, and the great drinks! And the atmosphere was perfect. All in all, this place is ON POINT! I’ll definitely be revisiting often.

Ordered 12 wings and a classic pepperoni pizza the pizza was good a lot of flavor and the sauce for the wings were great but when we got them they were black and raw not what I expected paying $60 for pizza and wings

  • Adrian Villa

Love visiting new bars in town. It’s a bummer that you can’t smoke on their back patio. They don’t have a roof. If you’re a smoker or your friends want to enjoy a cigar. Probably not the best place to hangout.

  • Bobby Baker

What a great spot!! Better than expected! Met the owner, and a lot of the neighborhood kids working part time there. Close our house, and the BEST pizza we’ve had in Austin!! My go to Pizza place!!!

  • Raquel

The frozen Margaritas are delicious and STRONG! They seem like a lot of money ($9) for the small amount you get for a single, but you'll forget by the time you finish your drink bc they are loaded.

  • 72 Jammer

Waited for 15 minutes at the front of the bar upstairs and bar tender let us know that the bar is closed. It’s 12:40. They also turned away a bride on her wedding night just coming up for a drink.

This is my new favorite bar with my absolute most favorite bartender Diana!! She’s got such a great/ welcoming personality and fixes museum quality drinks!!!! 10 out of 10 would do again!!!

Some of the best wings on the East Side! Creative sauces and cooked really well. And the bar staff- Rob, Desabian, and Noah especially— are here to bring a smile and make some tasty drinks!

Surprisingly wonderful Margaritas. I didn't know I was on a journey for the best margarita in Austin until I stumbled upon Lefty's!! Not sure you can find a better one in Austin.

  • William Arline

I dropped in this spot on a slower Sunday and got phenomenal service from Diana who was the best! Def a neighborhood bar! Be aware, the kitchen closes at 10! Otherwise great spot

$92 for 3 drinks and a pizza… Too bad because everything tasted great and the staff were nice. Has potential to be a solid regular local spot but nobody makes this mistake twice

Simple and friendly. Not fancy , nor anything I would recommend to out of towners with limited time. But I love grabbing a quick frozen cocktail and curly fries here.

  • Katie Shultz

Literally the best pizza I've had in Austin. I'm not joking. Lots of outdoor space. Get the double frozen beverage instead of the single - the price is worth it
