April of 2022 I go to this school and this school is academically good but the staff is terrible. If you complain about a teacher they will get angry, especially the 7th grade teachers. The 7th grade teachers do not care about these students at all they only care about getting paid. Also the lunch aids, are so careless. They love hanging out with little 6th graders and show as much attitude as possible towards anyone older. The teachers always find a way to start arguments on minor problems. The lunch here is also terrible, if you saw it you’d mistake it for dog food. The people who make lunch don’t even check for the expiration date on the milk or chips before giving them out. This school shows no care for these students and only care about getting paid and go on to plan project after project thinking that that’ll help the students. I do recommend this school because it is in some way a good school but it would be nice for the staff to show more care for these students and hire some useful 7th grade teachers. Every minute you see a new 7th grade teacher because of how much complaints they get. Also Ms.Charlemenge is ruining this school. Ms.Charlemenge will yell in your face and send you to her office if you wear your coat or a hoodie when it is below 20 degrees. This school was in it’s prime before we went through the pandemic. Even the other day I witnessed a teacher lie about a student hitting them because the teacher didn’t like the student. The 7th grade teachers are also so unprepared. They put in your grades a day before you receive your report card so you have no time for feedback, or to make up any missing assignments if you have any. These 7th grade teachers here are so biased especially the ELA (most definitely) Math, Science, and Physical Education teacher. Also, the middle school sharing a building with an alternative high school is so weird and unprofessional.
This is a great school. My son had a little bit of a problem adjusting to a new school and neighborhood as we moved from the Upper East Side in Manhattan to Brooklyn and they have done everything they could to help him adjust and feel home. My son is now doing much better and everyone loves him. Students are respectful and bullying is not tolerated. If you walk into the cafeteria during lunch the kids are quiet, eating respectfully and interacting with one another with joy and in a respectful manner. The principal is in charge and takes charge of any issue brought to her. I’m truly thankful for this school management and cooperation on trying to help my son be the best student he can. Here he is safe, loved and cared for mentally and academically.
This school is not so great......I thought it would be just like the main building but MRS. Grant runs this school like a prison and it's sad. Plus Mrs.Edelstien is a lie she told mrs. Grant th hst a kid bruised her hand even though I was there and it wasnt true. The only things good here are the teachers.
