My entire family was extremely frustrated and disappointed by Level Chicago. We were in Chicago to move our son into a nearby apartment. Level was very close by and looked beautiful - so it seemed like a great pick. It was expensive, but we decided the amenities and proximity was worth it. I was frustrated before I even arrived. * I had called ahead about parking as we were traveling with 2 pick up trucks. There was clearly a miscommunication, as I thought parking was included. Once we were assigned a spot, it was too tight for the vehicle we described to the desk staff (as they asked for make, model, license plate before assigning it). We had to call from the lot to get it changed. They then assigned us a double spot (which we could have potentially parked both vehicles in, but they didn't tell us until after we paid to park the second vehicle in another, less expensive, lot (tip - at 1225 Old Town Apartments - BUT this was EXTREMELY tight for a pick up truck)). * We had 3 residents staying in the room but they would not provide 3 keys - you had to list the names of others and the staff would let them into the elevator area to come up. * Even on a weekday and mid-day, there are too few elevators for the residents and people staying in the hotel - so with COVID restrictions lifted - 8 people would cram into an elevator. * The thermostats in the apartment did not work accurately - we set both the bedroom and the main area to 70 degrees. In the morning, the main area was set to 48 degrees and the bedroom to 74 even though we had not touched the thermostats. * The TVs in each room used different HDMI inputs in each room and did not have instructions. Most of the remote buttons didn't actually do anything so we had to call for assistance just to watch television. The man who came to fix them said the batteries must be bad, but then did not replace them. * The bathtub/shower was extremely slippery while showering and has no hand rails. * We booked a two bedroom suite (with one king bed) and had only 2 towels. We asked for more, but they did not deliver them. * The floor tiles in the apartment were not completely in place and there were gaps in them. * The door to the apartment had a very loud creak when closing - which we fixed ourselves. * The staff were a bit cool - not necessarily impolite, but certainly not warm and accommodating. * The website neglected to mention that they charge you a $200 deposit when you check in for incidentals. The staff acted as if I was ignorant not to expect this, but most rentals and hotels just take a card as security if there is an issue - they do not actually charge the money and have you wait 5 business days for it to be refunded after your stay. * There are limits to how many people you can have in the apartment at one time (which was 8, if you were wondering).

Check-out is 11 am. Employees came to my room at 11:09 with a gun and security to tell me I had to leave. I was extending for another night and wanted help with my reservation but they wouldn’t hear any of it. They forced me out of the room in the 11 o’clock hour, forced me off of my professional Zoom call, and escorted me downstairs with a gun. Three employees (Erick, Security Hamilton, and Josh) kept telling me that escorting me down with security right after checkout is their policy and they do it for everyone. I asked them if they have late checkout. Erick said yes. Then I asked why not give me a late checkout while we figure out the reservation situation. Erick snickered and said it was because Security Hamilton wanted to come upstairs with them. I explained this was inappropriate and that their cavalier use of force is dangerous. They were unmoved and unwilling to talk reasonably. I will note, I was frightened and felt threatened so I asked for a manager and they had the most reasonable and empathetic assistant manager come to help me once I explained what the employees had done to me. This manager listened with compassion, agreed that the behavior was aggressive and sought to solve the problem by helping me make another reservation, and even offered $40 off of the reservation. I did and went back to the room that I was forced out of with a gun and didn’t have any problems after since the assistant manager offered to take care of me directly. I booked this place to be away from rif raf and have a quiet place to write and do work. Unfortunately, with so many aggressive employees, it overshadows the good employees and I couldn’t enjoy it. The aggression could be due to an active shooting that took place at the building the week before my arrival. It seems like there are lots of parties and and wild happenings at this place. But forcing business people off of meetings with a gun on-hand is not the way to attract a business clientele. Only the partiers and the people up to trouble would tolerate this behavior. I will not be returning and would not recommend to anyone I care about.

My 3 kids, my husband and I lived at Old Town Park in LEVEL Furnished Living for 7 months. We had an absolutely amazing experience!! The Old Town Park (OTP) building is beautiful with every amenity you could ever want. The highlight for the kids was the basketball court, the game room, and the Amazon Hub (novelty!). We were in a 2 bedroom and, although cozier than we are accustomed to, it was comfortable and LEVEL provided us with everything we needed as to not have to move a lot of stuff from our home, that was under construction. The people that work at LEVEL and OTP could not have been nicer or friendlier. And the service was TOP NOTCH! IF I ever needed anything and contacted any of the service people, be it LEVEL employees, concierge desk, etc., I would never have to wait more than a few minutes for a response. They were always on it and ready to help in any way. We moved out of our home for 7 months and had a lot of ups and downs along the way. Had it not been for the helpfulness and kindness of the people at LEVEL and the amazing facility at OTP, our experience would have been much different. I would recommend LEVEL Chicago to anyone in need of furnished living. It really is as good as it gets!

As a traveling consultant, I can't tell you how comforting it feels to have a "home" away from home. I've been living at LEVEL for a year now and everything is amazing; from the super accommodating staff, to the impressive amenities, this place beats hotel living by a long shot. The location is perfect - walk to EVERYTHING. Safe and quiet (as a quiet as you can get in downtown Chicago :). Easy access to the expressway (if you're traveling in/out of the city, like me). Apartment furnishings are on-trend and new. They're not the old, out dated, ten-million-people-have-sat-on-this-bed type of hotel furnishings that I saw at some other furnished rentals in the city. kitchen is very well equipped. The gym in this building is crazy nice! The rooftop pool, game room, sauna/steam room... Yeah, the list goes on, and it's all excellent. Consultants - give up your Marriott points for a week and try it; I promise you won't regret it.

I recently booked a reservation on the level chicago website. Upon arrival I was told I couldn’t check-inn due to them giving my reservation away. (without notice & still charge) I was told there’s nothing they can do about it, & I was left stranded in the cold & unable to book another room due to the fact that they charged my card & I recently flew in town that day for a family event. I’ve contacted Anthony & Jermaine Shelton & was told the best they can do is offer me (free parking) if I stayed with them again. This would’ve been my 3rd time staying at level but now it’s my last. I was charged the full amount when booked & charged again on 11/7 & I’m still in attempt for my refunds even after they admitted to the problem. / such POOR customer service, they will leave you stranded on the street with your child without a single care.

Literally, the most obnoxious check in process in the history of hotels. They want you to submit a copy of your drivers license...front AND back, BACK? WHY WOULD YOU NEED THE BACK OF SOMEONE'S DRIVERS LICENSE?! Also, a selfie of your face in addition to your license, AND you must submit to a background check. I don't know what insane control freak dreamed up this process but I was on the verge of just cancelling my reservation over this insanity. Would never stay here again on the basis of this crazy process. I've been in the hospitality industry for over 30 years and have stayed at hundreds of hotels across the world and have never seen nor heard of this. Someone in leadership over there has lost their mind.

I felt right at home. Eric and Traci were so welcoming, sweet, friendly and funny. They went above and beyond to make my stay a pleasant one. My room was beautiful, clean, the bed was comfortable, the room had everything I needed for my stay and more, my view was beautiful and the amenities were great. I had a lot of fun from the pool to the game room. Great location, parking garages are near, there's also meter parking. Plenty of restaurants and grocery stores. I didn't want to leave. I'll be returning soon :)

The space was perfect for a weekend away! It was clean and comfortable. Jermaine greeted us in the lobby at check in and he was so nice and fun. Everyone in our party was impressed by our welcome! The location to some of the main area in Old Town made access to restaurants and shopping easy and in walking distance! The old negatives we had were that the rooftop area closed at 10pm on Saturday so we were unable to enjoy the beautiful weather. We also did not realize there was a trash chute down the hall from us so at checkout went back up to take all our trash out. This would be easily fix if there were instructions for cleaning before check out were left in the room. Otherwise we will be coming back!

My family arrived at the hotel, and their credit card was denied because the total amount was above the max limit. They called me and I offered the hotel to pay with my Amex card. They refused THOUGH THEY JUST CHARGED THE DEPOSIT ON THE VERY SAME CARD. I offered to wire the money, to do a video call so I could prove my ID, pay via E-transfer, etc. The only answer was no, no, no. My niece who stood at the front desk heard other international travelers facing the same issue. The people at the front desk were unhelpful, disrespectful, and useless. Instead of trying to find a solution, they stood by their policy, and could not care less about the situation of their clients. If you travel internationally, avoid this hotel at all costs.

I LOVE Level in Old Town! This was my second stay here and the front desk was absolutely amazing! The Level was beautiful from the second you walk through the door. It truly is a Level up from your traditional hotels. It has clean and spacious accommodations. Thank you so much for making my stay in Chicago memorable. The only caveat to this is the confusion surrounding credit cards on arrivals for business travelers. When arriving they ask for a physical credit card on file for incidentals when there is already a business credit card on file from the company. This is unneeded and makes the person feel uncomfortable giving a personal credit card when there is already a cc on file.

The Level Old Towne was EXCELLENT!! Me and my wife stayed for our 1st anniversary our first time in Chicago and it was ABSOLUTELY what we were looking for! The front desk workers were VERY PROFESSIONAL and HELPFUL. They let us drop our bags while they prepared the room and even gave us tips on local eateries and bars. We had the executive suite w/ private balcony and city views and honestly I felt we had the BEST view of the whole city. The room was SPACIOUS and very modern. It was truly amazing! Everything was CLEAN and smelled nice and fresh. Thank you Level Old Towne for making our 1st anniversary one to remember!

Updating my review after being contacted by Director of Operations, Jermaine. I was surprised that LEVEL would reach out because our stay was not at all what we would have liked. Jermaine, took time out to go through the issues and I truly felt he understood why our review was so low. I feel valued as a guest. I hope our stay is used as a teaching experience for better service all around. Good luck to LEVEL while they venture into the hotel side of things. They are a luxury apartment hotel. A different experience but the potential to be great.

The location was excellent, being near restaurants and markets. The suite also suited us perfectly - it was spacious and allowed us to relax together (unlike having separate hotel rooms). Most important: the staff. They were always friendly and helpful, especially when a HVAC vent caused a variable and annoying noise the first night. When we complained the next morning, Josh pursued a fix with the maintenance crew while showing us room alternatives if the fix couldn't be done (fortunately, it was). We enjoyed a happy and carefree stay.

Great location, beautiful space. The only thing lacking was the logistical side of being a hotel. I stayed for 6 nights, and had no way to have trash removed during those six nights. There was no housekeeping, and though there was a trash shoot on my floor, I had no access to use it. Only one roll of toilet paper also meant that I had to go out and buy my own... for "Hotels + Furnished Suites" the hotel part doesn't seem very fitting. In unit washer and dryer, HUGE bathtub, two TV's, efficient kitchen with gas stove. All awesome perks.

The one bedroom apartment was clean and spacious for our family of four with the spill out couch.
Safety
Everything required card access which made us feel safe with our kids. Even the pool area had locks that our 7 year old could not operate.

All staff were very friendly and professional. The area is beautiful, and the property is well maintained. Our unit location was wonderful, looking over the fantastic pool area. Now the negatives: this is more of an airbnb type experience. It took hours to get extra towels and a roll of toilet paper for our room. Our bed was not comfortable at all, you could tell it had been "broken in" very well (wink). The sheets were stiff and did not smell fresh. All in all, i would give a 3.5.

STOP! Do not Recommend staying at Level Hotels. Management is a nightmare. Suites are not cleaned. The Level Hotel website doesn’t have any information for complaints. I contacted other Level Hotels across the country looking for someone to take a complaint and comment, Nonexisting. Run around. Basically, by being a boutique hotel, the hotel can do whatever they want and there’s no consequences. Don’t waste your money.

They need to tell Expedia, Orbitz, etc. that rooms are not ready until 4:00 (or maybe later?). Orbitz listed it as 3:00 check in so we arrived from a long flight at that time. Ok, not their fault. So we left and got some food and a drink after they said, oh yeah it will be done by 4:00. Came back at 4:00 and we were made to wait another half an hour for the room. Front desk seemed to not take any responsibility for our inconvenience. Dude had a bit of an attitude as well. Don’t stay here.

People smoke in these rooms. I requested to be moved because the first room smelled so bad. Got into the second room and it smelled like someone sprayed a cheap air freshener Everywhere… A few hours later after lunch I came back and that room smelled like smoke also because the air freshener smelled had finally died out. Stay away from this place.

My wife and I can give no better recommendation than to say that we would gladly return to LEVEL whenever we visit Chicago. Jermaine Shelton and his staff could not have been more cordial, friendly, and helpful. They were always quick to remedy any concerns and their efforts were unsurpassed. In this Covid era, irregular issues inevitably arise, but the LEVEL staff did their utmost to resolve and to satisfy..

Top class rental, more like an apartment than a hotel. Super clean, amazing amenities, and every person who worked there was kind and helpful. I love that the parking is attached and everything was secure and safe. The eighth floor was a surprise and included a dog park which we used daily. Great views of the city. I’ve already recommended it to a friend.

I called in to ask a question about booking and the receptionist “Morgan” was very rude and unhelpful. I couldn’t believe the customer service that I was receiving and the supervisor was kind of dismissive as well. I was really turned off by their treatment and lack of customer care. It’s really unfortunate because I was really excited to look into this hotel.

My family loved the 3 BD apartment, great staff and management. We love the amenities and the location. close to everything. With all the challenges to Covid19 restrictions, very nice accomodations and location. Jermaine and John are great managers and will address any issues you may have. We stayed six months and love it. I had a wonderful experience at Level. The staff is always very helpful and kind. The space was very modern and beautiful. The bed was comfortable and I enjoyed using the gym especially the eucalyptus towel after the workout was a nice touch! I would recommend this furnished apartment to anyone looking for temporarily housing.

Had an amazing stay at Level Old Town. Great amenities.. pool, hot tub, BBQ, gym, sauna and games room made it that much better. Close to the grocery store and red line train. Super nice to have room service available along with maid service once a week. The kitchen is fully stocked. Washer and dryer in unit!
