They took over a pension I had through great west life and invested in with Assumption life. They invested $15780.16 in 2013 in a fund that charged an MER of 3.8%. 7 years later my investment returned a 3% annualized return. In other words life inc and assumption life made more off my pension then I did. Unfortunately my wife has fared much worse with life inc. They invested her pension in a balanced fund that returned $66 after being invested in a fund that had a 3.61% MER for 7 years. If you're wondering why I kept my pension invested with these jokers for so long it's because the back end fees and withdrawal fees were exorbitant and would have decimated the value of the portfolio. Do yourself a favor and stay away from them if you can.

The rep called to leave a message to tell me she was leaving for the weekend. Ive been waiting for their call since Wednesday. No response then no support. I called back to ask a direct simple question. To get an answer, I would have had to make another appointment to talk to another rep......no thanks.
