Fine latte art, however the taste did not reach my expectations in various aspects. For instance, the richness in flavour, aroma, and aftertaste. The service was not friendly when compared to other cafes (like Red Door Provisions, a local cafe with warmer service). The atmosphere (or environment) was the part they did best, as demonstrated in my rating. Given that the tables was spaced properly, it did not cram the customers together. Nonetheless, the loud music with fast tempo ruined my experience. Me and my friend had to talk really loud, in order to have a conversation there. The eating speed and mood always related to the music too. Faster tempo=eating faster, more exciting, and less relaxing. And those who prefer eat quickly in a cafe (as if eating in a fast food restaurant), it should be the best cafe. But for me, I prefer to eat slowly and relax when I go to a cafe. Other than that, when I see the replies to other people who left bad reviews, I see this shop often emphasize that they are local small business. The problem is, I believe it has nothing to do with any criticism they received. Excellent means excellent, terrible means terrible. I often go to local cafe, which also makes me understand quality does not equal the size of the business. Certainly the size does not justify the quality at the meantime. They should really listen to what the customers say, especially those who gave details. These are valuable information for a business to thrive, and they are supposed to treat them humbly rather than attacking the tiny details of a review. People would know if it is a nonsense comment or not, even without the shop's response. That being said, please be humble. After that, explore what you may do to retain the customers or improve the business model. Like supply chain, staff training, recruitment, equipments...... Finally, I would like to explain the motivation for me to type such a long "essay". I do not want this business with prime location to go down, and I do not have the power to do so. All I want is to list the problems I see. Also, to make sure this cafe to take people's opinion seriously, then make the significant improvements. Particularly their responses to bad reviews on Google. I know how does a good business look like or taste like. This one is not one of them currently. When this "local business" treat the criticisms humbly and improve the problems mentioned above, I would love to come back. Nevertheless, absolutely not at this moment. Last kind reminder: review what you replied on Google

Edit (19 Sep): Matcha latte is an item on your menu, that means your customer can order it no matter it’s a day the World Barista Champion was there or not. There’s no relation between the event and the quality of product you served. If you search “matcha latte” in the comment section, you’ll see I’m not the only one to complain. Just because there isn’t a photo to “prove” so I shouldn’t leave an honest review? Please don’t repeatedly claim yourself as a “small business” to prevent all the criticism. You’re embarrassing other small businesses in the world which constantly listen to opinions and work hard to improve the quality. I originally rated 3 stars but now it turned down to 1. Worst experience at a cafe. Not recommended. Edit (10 Sep): I came here on 31 August 2023 for joining the Boram Um bar takeover event. This was my 3rd visit and the 3rd cup of matcha latte from Little Victories Coffee Roasters. It tasted exactly the same, nothing has improved. The ratio (matcha powder : milk) was wrong as I mentioned in my previous comment. I was not satisfied with the quality that’s why no photos were taken on that day. I’m a cafe lover and have visited a lot of cafes around the world, from Asia to Europe and also in different cities in Canada. Being a small business doesn’t mean you should be more protected even you provide something that is low quality / below average. Many cafes in the world don’t even have other branches, they are also running small businesses but when they receive negative feedback they work hard to improve it. Not holding such an arrogant attitude like you do. I strongly suggest you should watch the tutorial videos on YouTube or wherever to learn how to make a proper matcha latte. Initial comment: Coffee is just average, not impressive at all. Their matcha latte is the worst I’ve had in my life, wrong ratio(matcha powder : milk) & temperature. Quality of pastries are below average and with very limited options.

Little Victories Coffee Roasters is an absolute gem! From the moment I stepped into their cozy café, I was greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans filled the air, instantly tempting my taste buds. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, taking the time to explain their various coffee blends and brewing methods. Their coffee is nothing short of exceptional. Each cup is a celebration of flavor and craftsmanship. Whether I opted for a simple black coffee or one of their specialty lattes, I was consistently impressed by the rich, smooth taste that lingered on my palate. Little Victories truly understands the art of coffee roasting and it shows in every sip. Not only is their coffee fantastic, but they also source their beans ethically, which aligns with my values as a conscious consumer. The commitment to sustainability and community involvement is commendable, and it's evident that they genuinely care about their impact on both the environment and the local coffee growers. The ambiance of the café is perfect for savoring a cup of coffee and getting some work done or simply unwinding with a good book. I also appreciated the attention to detail in the decor, making it a comfortable and Instagram-worthy spot. Overall, my experience at Little Victories Coffee Roasters was a true delight. It's a place where coffee lovers can rejoice in the art of coffee-making, knowing that every sip supports responsible practices and a passionate team. I can't wait to return and explore more of their coffee offerings! Arrive before 9:45am and you might catch the changing of the guard procession and the marching band.

I decided to try this café out and unfortunately I don’t think I will be returning. The coffee was certainly excellent but unfortunately there wasn’t that much of a selection in terms of the baked goods, and the croissant we had was stale despite arriving fairly early on in the morning. I was also disappointed that there was no wifi available. I can’t think of any coffee shop that doesn’t have wifi in 2023. My partner and I were hoping to do some remote work in a new environment but unfortunately that wasn’t possible. I also had such a difficult time locating the washroom. The signage took me through a hallway where I ended up in the neighbouring building to use that washroom. After quite a bit of confusion, I discovered that the washroom doors were locked. We decided to cut our visit short and instead went across the street to Equator located in the NAC where there was excellent service, coffee, baked goods, AND accessible washrooms.

Follow my food blog on Instagram for restaurant reviews: @mimi.munches! Ever since I've visited Littlevictories, first at their Glebe location, and then at their shipping container location, I've really enjoyed their coffee and vibe. So I was super excited when their new Elgin Street flagship café location opened up, and enjoyed spending some time working there! The location is amazing for people watching as you are in the heart of the action in downtown Ottawa, and the space itself is very spacious, with high ceilings and ample seating. My favourite part is how beautifully decorated the interiors are - there are some pink accents, which is my favourite colour! I felt incredibly comfy and at peace relaxing at this location. Swipe to see a photo of their menu! I tried a seasonal drink, their spiced cappuccino, and it was well made and strong, and also pretty to look at! Next time I want to try their other season drinks, such as their chocolate chai, steamed cider, and eggnog latte!

Wifi: No Gluten Free: 1 dessert bar was offered when we visited. Beverage: A great list of iced options that were not watered down, rather, full of flavour. Staff: you can tell it’s a warm environment to work in. They move quick, and know what they’re talking about when giving recommendations Space: There are many tables to choose from both indoors (largest table has 8 seats) and outdoors (bistro style). Price: If you’re looking to get a beverage and pastry, you can expect an 8$ tab. Con: It is in central Ottawa which means lots of sounds, people, and fast paced. Pro Tip: This is the largest of two locations that are popular in Ottawa. The second is located on Bank street with a smaller cozier atmosphere.

As a Montrealer I have been going to Ottawa 3-4 times a year for business and pleasure. I found there was always a shortage of good coffee places other than your traditional Starbucks and Bridgehead. I was happily surprised to find Little Victories during my last visit this week. What a great café. The staff was super nice, the coffee and the food were excellent! The atmosphere was perfect for a sit down and enjoy your coffee kind of moment. It is situated in the heart of downtown next to the National war memorial. Hopefully they will open more locations in the future. We will definitely go back.

We ordered coffee from this place online and we liked it so we were excited to go to the Cafe. The location is beautiful and steps from parliament hill. We ordered the slow drip (or pour over) which was amazing. The staff member who made it even came out afterward to give us tasting notes. This place also really cares about customer experience, the scale broke halfway through making our coffees and they ended up not turning out right. The staff refused to serve it to us and asked for us to wait while they remade it so that we got the best experience. I was really impressed with their commitment to delivering a quality cup of coffee. I highly recommend trying this place
Very hip place set in an old building where they've obviously deliberately retained the bones of its heritage which is great. Coffee was superb and service was excellent - definitely worth putting on your list if you're a coffee lover. It's just opposite the NAC and though that does have an Equator coffee I might consider crossing the road and giving this place a go if I were you (or do both). Sadly I'm unlikely to be back anytime soon so can't comment on the food atm.

More of an adult place I'd say.
the steamed (apple) cider is 10/10, amazing, home-y, warm, and delicious. highly recommend. it has both fall and xmas vibes written all over it. it gives me hope. nothing in the entire world is scary anymore. yum, go get ur steamed cider! trust me : ) -- in terms of the atmosphere, it's a beautiful space but it can get pretty loud so if you have noise sensitivities I recommend using noise cancelling earbuds! you also have to snag a seat when you can, as there are many others who are also passionate about caffeine and cider.

Oh my goodness I don’t know where to start. I went in kinda stressed because the place is gorgeous and everyone was dressed so nice. I was wearing my casual- kinda lazy clothes and was still treated with respect. (Plus not being the only queer in the room is awesome) I got ALL smiles, and some of the best coffee I have ever had. Also, I didn’t know how good a sprinkle cookie would be, but damn. It’s tasty. Staff made me feel welcome and I can’t wait to go back. It’s my new favourite people watching spot.

Such an awesome spot! The decor and atmosphere is great, the coffee (and baked goods) are exactly what we were looking for when we were searching up a coffee shop in Ottawa. To top it off I ended buying multiple bags of coffee and merch because their graphic design and look is super attractive and of great quality. It’s obvious these guys care about their coffee and about the consumer experience. Staff was super friendly and helpful, which just makes it all that much better! Top notch spot, truly. ✨

Little Victories is a staple roaster in Ottawa. Lots of great coffee shops, but Little Victories is one of the few small, independent roasters doing it immaculately. It was my first time there and the baristas were happy to give me detailed explanations before deciding. I decided on the coffee flight and wasn’t disappointed. Smooth coffee and espresso perfect for your daily drink, plus unique single-origins for when you feel adventurous. I know the first place I’ll go when I’m back in the city.

Nitro cold brew - (5/5) -less bitterness compared to most other nitro -delicious natural sweetness -very drinkable even for those who do not enjoy bitter coffee (without milk) Iced latte - (4.5/5) -low bitterness -pronounced coffee flavor came through the milk

5/5 for the atmosphere, service and interiors. Beautiful interior design, amazing staff that seem like they genuinely like working there and handle long lines smoothly. Very busy and atmospheric cafe in a central location of Ottawa. However it loses a star for the matcha latte/ iced matte- just straight milk- could not taste the matcha- so disappointing especially for $6. Also I did notice there was no wifi, so maybe not ideal for working? But lots of people were there working anyways.

Beautiful space, beautiful view, great staff and well priced drinks. Definitely worth checking out if your downtown! You get a good view of the war memorial, the nac and chateau Laurier. There is no wifi here so perhaps more concentrated working and less browsing. The staff are also very friendly and helpful and willing to answer any coffee related questions. The tea is also brewed very well here. They brew it to serve so it won't be under or over steeped.

Little Victories has exceptional coffee. The views of historic buildings through its huge windows and the imposing stone walls inside provide an inspiring place to chat with friends, work on a story, or sketch some fruit (as was the case this past Sunday). Unfortunately, the two pastries that I tried tasted a day old at best. But if I'm looking for a quality cup of coffee, this is now my go-to place in Ottawa.

My favourite cafe in Ottawa, the best service, people and coffee. Even when they are insanely busy, they're consistent in quality and so welcoming. I'm fully reliant on coffee, so this is my stop midday after a pot at home--which I make with their beans, Sunshine is my favourite, but the Roaster's Choice never disappoints when I want to try something new. You're the best, thank you for the amazing (life-sustaining) coffee!

I had a spotty experience initially here, however, Andrew, one of the owners, showed real class by discussing this with me in person recently. While the service side was a challenge for me, the coffee was adequate, and the actual environment is beautiful. All businesses are a constant work in progress. Thank you Andrew for stepping up and discussing this. That takes courage and character. It was greatly appreciated.

Always a lovely place to be, we sat as a group outside and went in to give our order. My latte was good, and the hot chocolate my friend and her kid shared was very appreciated. When the weather is good sitting outside and people watching is very enjoyable. As it is a very popular place sometimes it is hard to find a place to sit.

Friendly staff, professionally made drinks. The open design of the food display allows for MANY fruit flies (I quickly counted at least 6 sitting on the glass). There was one, big, house fly, walking on the plates and food. Maybe I am on the sensitive side, but kinda brings out the yuck factor for me.

Aesthetically pleasing coffee shop on the way to many touristic sites. We ordered 2 Americanos, an espresso and a cookie (oatmeal, golden raisin, rosemary), total $13.56. My husband said the espresso shot was good (fruity, not sour, however no tiger stripes and thin crema) I thought the Americanos were good and that the cookie was meh (rosemary was a nice touch though!)
Great location at the center of Ottawa. Busy, so it took some time to find a table. Coffee was good and the ginger cookie was yummy. They also have these almond cookies that were delicious. Setting was very nice with stone walls and wood accessories.

Little Victories wins the race! The industrial vibe was hospitable and the service left us wanting for nothing. I really enjoyed my iced latte and the latte art on my husband’s drink was gorgeous. The croissant I ate was delish. Avoid the chain coffee places and instead try this hot coffee spot in downtown Ottawa. You won’t be disappointed!
Solid upper end cafe fare with an amazing venue+location. You can get more interesting drinks and food elsewhere but everything they do is respectable. You are very much going there for the vibe, a greenhouse style outcropping of one of the large stone structures near parliament.

What a beautiful space and friendly staff! The coffee was delicious and the unique baked goods as well! I would easily spend a few hours there people watching! The attention to design and detail is gorgeous! We got mugs and coffee to use at home as well!
The Brownies are absolutely amazing. Hot chocolate isn't very sweet, but that is something you can speak to the Baristas about. There are a lot of options for pastries, and it opens reasonably early so you can pop in before the breakfast crowd. More

I always look forward to coming to Little Victories when in Ottawa. Cozy / airy atmosphere, stunning location, great outdoor seating, and exceptional coffee. I got a batch and then takeaway iced americano! The staff was so kind too.
Very nice cafe to have coffee and breakfast. Place is very clean, very modern with touch of old style. Staff are very friendly Cons: there is no skim milk option, while there is many alternative milk. Pros: coffee is usually fresh
Got a lovely cappuccino here! Food is honestly fairly priced and the interior has a great lively vibe to it. The location is great, just means it’s always pretty busy inside. Haven’t had the chance to try much but so far so good!
