I recently made the decision to explore the services of Live True Salon Brixton, influenced by their appealing content on Instagram that suggested a reputable establishment. However, my experience turned out to be rather disappointing. Upon my arrival on Sunday 06/08/2023 at 11:35 AM, I was informed that the stylist assigned to perform my desired balayage was indisposed due to illness. I conveyed my situation, explaining that I had undertaken a considerable journey from Kent and was in need of an immediate resolution. Despite my understanding of unforeseen circumstances, I expected a more accommodating response considering the inconvenience I had endured. The alternative offered was a rescheduling at their Vauxhall branch at 1:30 PM. While an olaplex treatment was extended as a gesture of goodwill for the disruption, I found it insufficient to address the substantial time and effort I had invested in my visit. Further compounding my dissatisfaction was the revelation that a promotional offer for olaplex had already been dispatched to my email. This raised concerns about the authenticity of their efforts to rectify the situation. Upon arriving at the alternative location, I meticulously communicated my requirements and preferences, accompanied by reference images, emphasizing the avoidance of a yellow undertone while aiming for a naturally illuminated effect. Despite my detailed instructions, the stylist recommended an ashy tone, asserting that it wouldn't exhibit any yellow tint. Trusting their expertise, I assented based on a sample image showcasing a light brown ashy hue. However, my confidence was shattered when the final outcome did not align with expectations. Not only did the process consume an extended duration, encompassing my time until approximately 8 PM, but the resultant coloration was significantly removed from the intended outcome. The initial yellowish appearance was compounded by an inconsistency with the promised natural aesthetics. This deviation left me dissatisfied and discontent. To exacerbate my frustration, I encountered further delays during my visit, waiting for an extended period of around 20 minutes. Given the substantial investment of time and finances, this proved to be an additional source of disappointment. In my attempt to address the evident discrepancies, I was informed that corrective measures could be implemented to darken the tone, in response to my concerns regarding the yellowish hue. However, due to work commitments, I could not afford the luxury of sporting an unsatisfactory appearance. The subsequent modification did provide some solace, but my overall confidence in the outcome remained precarious. After my departure from the salon, my apprehensions materialized as the yellow undertone resurfaced post-hair wash. This was particularly disheartening, especially considering that the motive behind this transformation was to bolster my self-assurance, a goal that was regrettably not attained. In the aftermath of this disheartening experience, I've been inundated with promotional emails urging me to recommend the salon to others in exchange for supposed discounts. Regrettably, my experience falls far short of being conducive to such endorsements. In retrospect, this incident has led me to conclude that the salon's service quality is subpar, accompanied by exorbitant pricing. The apparent lack of customer-centric focus has eroded my confidence in their dedication to client satisfaction. Furthermore, an additional charge of £64 for toner and root shadow only contributes to my growing disappointment, as these adjustments remain indiscernible to my perception. In summary, my encounter with Live True Salon Brixton has been characterized by a distressing blend of underwhelming service, misrepresented outcomes, and a general disregard for the clientele's well-being. It is my candid assessment that, under the current circumstances, I cannot conscientiously recommend their services, even to the most unfavourable of acquaintances.

I decided to try Live True salon brixton a few weeks ago after seeing their great posts on Instagram and thought they should be good also they had a "50% off in colour offer" When I arrived, I showed exactly what I wanted with photos, which was a very natural balayage darkening my roots and lightening the ends just a bit, I already had a balayage before and it was only for retouching. To begin with, for the "discount" I had to add lots of extras that in the end made the bill increase by 2 in addition to raising the price even more for being attended by a senior hairdresser? After many hours sitting waiting for the high price to be worth it, the result of my hair was a complete disaster, it did not look anything like the photo and nothing natural as they assured me, my hair had an almost white tone all of my hair between gray and green colour because of the toner. So overprocessed my hair that everything ended up burnt and the hair cut for tips (one of the extras they requested to add) ended up cutting half of my length so destroyed my style as too much damage. I commented there that it was not what I wanted in the Salon and they told me to wait a few days and not touch it, I tried to calm down but when I got home I couldn't believe that after paying more than £200 my hair was terribly burned and having a horrible colour, the worst, next day when I combed my hair a whole piece of hair fell out from the roots and also many pieces were breaking and falling, I got scared and tried to contact customer care several times asking for my money back and treatment to repair the damage of my hair but they said they had passed my request to the proper department which after waiting and waiting never ever contacted me. I had to pay another more than other £200 in treatments from Olaplex to repair the damage the caused and just after insisted over and over to them, only once they got tired of my emails then just once I was asked to come in so they could see my hair?  I sent them the photos , call them, asked the hairdresser and they never cared about damaging my hair or my discontent, I would never go back to that place where they only care about scamming people with poor quality products that damage hair and get all the money they can without caring about the damage to their customers. To make matters worse, I receive emails with supposed discounts if I recommend the salon, I would not recommend it even to my worst enemy. Really terrible service, overpriced and they don't care about customers at all just of getting money from this thief, I lost £420 and still trying to recover mthe damage of my hair Here photos of my hair before, what I asked for and what they did to my hair

Really disappointed with this salon. I went in with blonde hair last week on Wednesday and asked it they could soften my root section as my hair grows quite quick and I didnt want to have to keep getting highlights so often. I referenced the pinterest images below. At no point said I wanted brown hair. The hairdresser really should have scattered some highlights through however he said he would put some colour through the roots. I trusted he was doing the right thing. While he was doing to color he was getting dye all over my face. When he washed it out water was splashing into my eyes. He then said to me dont panick it looks alot darker then it is and itll lighten up when I dry it. All of the sudden he was non stop talking. I think because he knew he stuffed up. There may have even been confusion with him and his assistant when mixing the colours as he just blurted a whole heap of numbers out to her and she really didn't look confident with remembering them. I've left the salon really unhappy with the result as my roots section is now worse and my blonde has been covered. Worse to this, their management team are uncontactable by phone only email and really dont seem to care that one of their hairdressers has stuffed up. I had to follow up 3 times before I got an email response from someone who remained anonymous. No apology. They said they have investigated but dont believe theyve done anything wrong!!! They investigated but did not speak to me? I had only included these reference images emailed to them. And it's very clear in the photos that this has gone wrong. Without accepting fault, they said they would do a colour lift and treatment which I have gone back to saying it's not good enough - they really need to get my hair back to blonde. I cant tie my hair back because it looks as though I left my hair grow out 2 inches! I've really struggled to leave the house after this colour. I'd be very, very cautious of this salon! One, you may not get what you asked for and two, if you dont, you'll have no support in fixing it. I'm still waiting for a response from my last email to get this fixed and I'm losing hope I've not seen a business behave like this in a long time. Really disappointing.

I absolutely love this salon, I am so pleased I found it, in particular Diogo! Diogo has coloured my hair a couple times now and all I can say is he's an artist. I get Balayage and it grows out beautifully. I get complimented on the colour and how it's growing out ALL the time, even 5 months after. I've got my hair cut with Federico too and really liked the modern bob he gave me - I am nearly 40 and so have had many haircuts and my least favourite thing is when hair stylist are conservative for age (eye roll!). Federico understood the assignment and I had a fresh, on trend hair cut. I also got hair extensions done with Annetta, my first time and TBH I would not go for tape extension next time, which is what Annetta does, just because they are SO hard to manage when growing out. Her work was excellent though. And she's a wonderful person! My only "watch out" comment is; ask beforehand how the promotions work and what the T&Cs are. That's not always made clear on the site or on the phone prior to booking so to avoid any awkward moment when paying up always triple check that the price you think you're paying/discount you are getting is what you expect it to be.

Federico did such a fantastic job with my hair last week! I have naturally very dark (almost black) hair and Federico gave me the most beautiful colour and amazing blend of honey tone highlights. I had a full head of highlights, toner, cut and blow dry and everything was done perfectly. Because I have such dark hair, in the past with previous hairdressers my hair has gone slightly reddish/ auburn looking which I discussed with Federico as I was worried about this but he ensured that did not happen. I loved his attention to detail and you can tell he really loves his job as he takes his time in order to get the perfect result. I have been looking for a new hairdresser in London for ages and Federico will now be my go to, due to me being really fussy and I can now say I totally trust him with my hair as I couldn't pick any faults! Can't wait to get my hair done again with him soon :)

The WORST salon experience I've ever had - twice. Back in May I arrived for my balayage (a 3 hour appointment) to be told they had double booked me due to a "new computer system" but if I waited 45 mins they would try to fit me in. The appointment was long enough without the extra wait, but I appreciated that they fit me in. Unbelievably, 3 months later and they have just done the same thing - they are somehow still dealing with a new computer system - although this time I am told they don't have any availability as they had double booked me again so my appointment will just be cancelled - so that's my Saturday morning wasted... When I asked when my refund would be processed they said they "wouldn't know". Cannot believe how useless these guys are.

I went to Brixton Live London today for a patch test that I organized ahead of time. They have a 48 hour waiting period. I’m leaving in 3 days on holiday so cutting it close. I was told they don’t have the color (dark black) I wanted there and I would have to go to their Vauxhall salon for my color. I decided not to go as Brixton salon is so close to home and going to Vauxhall defeats the purpose of my choosing this salon. I’m surprised they don’t have more colors available this isn't a mom and pop operation I dont think. Also, I wasn’t thrilled with the interior of the salon. I love to feel pampered when I get my hair done and I wasn’t feeling it at Live London Brixton. Such a shame since they’re so close to home.

I just had my appointment with Federico. He is truly a magician! I had previously visited Live True Brixton for a balayage but was not very happy with my results. I booked in again this time with Federico; he is so warm and friendly. He sat me down, and we had an in-depth conversation about what I wanted to achieve and what I didn't currently like about my hair. He went beyond my expectations. I absolutely love how my hair turned out. He is very attentive, and you can see he truly loves what he does and cares about you and what you want. I had an excellent experience getting my first balayage with Federico. I can honestly say it was the best experience I’ve ever had with a hair dresser! It was a pleasure to be treated by someone so passionate and knowledgable about their work. I felt very relaxed the whole time and learnt a lot about the whole process (no hairdresser has ever taken their time to explain the lightening process to me before)! I felt in extremely good hands and will 100% be going back to Federico and recommending him to all of my friends. He did exactly what I wanted (and even better)!

I had an awful experience at this Salon in October 2022, not to go in full detail but to summarise I paid £300 to not get the colour I asked for and to leave with damp hair and an uneven cut when I paid for a cut and blow dry. I was really let down as I was so excited to come due to the good reviews. Anyways, the main reason I am posting this review now is because I have asked to come off there email lists and text lists several times over the past year as I wont be returning and I am still constantly receiving messages, this is against GDPR guidelines.

I was a little nervous getting my first balayage done, Diogo eased my worries and did a seamless balayage, he listened to what I wanted and created something even better than I imagined- AND it suits my face and complexion! He is the balayage MASTER! All staff members were so welcoming and very accommodating, especially Lois! Salon is pristine clean and everyone gives honest advice for your hair care! Very grateful to everyone for my amazing balayage and I’ll definitely be coming back for more treatments!

I'm SO happy with the results of my treatment - half head of highlights & toner - with Alex at this salon. I wanted to get a more natural looking colour after getting highlights over a long period of time having led to my hair eventually looking too blonde, unhealthy & not the colour blonde I like. Alex took the time to understand what I wanted, showed me options and even adjusted the toner to correct the existing blonde to blend it better with the new lowlights she added. Never usually write reviews but had to give Diogo the praise he deserves!! My hair was so dry and limp, and he managed to blend the blonde so beautifully which I didn’t think was possible, and fully examined the condition of my hair to give me loads of recommendations (taking into account my budget) so I don’t need to keep coming back, this is the first time I’ve ever left the hairdressers truly chuffed with my hair!! Can’t recommend him enough, will be going back for the foreseeable ❤️❤️

I must give as much praise as I can to Federico Tommasi. He did an amazing job of transforming my dull, dry hair into a beautiful blond balayage. He is very professional and pays attention to recommending treatment, colouring and cut that you and your hair needs. Live True London, quite literally saved my hairs life! I went and saw Vicky in Brixton - when my hair was orange, damaged and broken (from another hairdresser). She made me feel comfortable and treated me with such kindness (I think she could tell how upset I was about the state of my hair). When I moved to London I spent just shy of 2 years on the hunt for a decent hairdresser (who could do balayage that actually looked like the photos I showed them) and had tried 3 other salons before Live True. I booked in with Kamil on the recommendation of a friend and will say, without hesitation, best hair cut and colour I've ever had. I recommend him to anyone and everyone - especially for fellow balayage-ers - a million percent worth the price in my opinion.

DIEGO (who you should book with!!!) is my hair colourist and stylist and I cannot go anywhere else except to him because he gives me the PERFECT hair colour each time and gives me exactly what it is that I ask for!! Even with cutting my hair when I asked for a trim he made sure to give me a lovely haircut without taking length off. I leave feeling like a new woman each time I leave the salon and he does my hair! Went to visit the lovely Federico over the weekend for a standard cut and blow dry. It had been ages since going to the hairdressers and I have quite long hair. I've had my hair done twice here in the past 6 months by Bea. I've had balayage, toner and a haircut done and couldn't be happier. Both times, the service was on time, friendly, professional and i'll definitely be returning. She really listened to what I was after and I've received multiple compliments on my hair after both visits.

Rude receptionist. Two hairdressers had called in sick but rather than apologise for not calling that the service not happening, implied it was my fault for rebooking despite there still being appointments available on treatwell website until 2pm. Not a review on the hair service but it is a review on the customer service.

Had blonde hair previously but coloured it very dark so wasn’t hoping for super light results. But Diogo was very attentive and explained everything so clearly making sure I was getting the results I wanted and ensured that I would be able to get lighter over time. I always go with Frederico for a haircut. He is extremely skilled (27 years of experience) and detailed. I tried to swap for other hairdressers in the past, but I have to admit that he is certainly one of the best ones I have met in south London so far (for slide back, men haircuts). Highly recommended.

Diogo is amazing, he did exactly what I had in mind and that is not an easy task with my hair. Previous hair stylists have managed to ruin my hair, but Diogo really paid attention and the result was amazing.

Excellent salon. The stylists advise styles that suit you and execute them so well. Diogo has converted me to curtain bangs and Kashell advised me on the perfect shade of blonde for me that I love.

Awful experience. The stylist was rude and burnt my face with the chemical products. Afterwards I complained multiple times to the salon and they ignored my emails.
