So I am changing my review from five stars to one. I don't believe my situation is unique after reading some of the other one stars. I reviewed them initially after my first visit and have gone back quite a bit since with unsatisfying results and/or feeling like they are trying to take advantage of me. I started coming here about five years ago or so. My first experience was great, or I initially thought. However a few days after my car left the shop, it was broken into and my stereo went missing along with a few other minuscule items. At first I was like eh its Chicago it happens but then I saw that there were a few other reviews on here that claim their stereos were stolen as well. Plus, nothing was broken (no windows broken, nothing damaged, almost like my key was duplicated). It was definitely a 'set scene' and they knew what they were after. Things were scattered in a way to make it seem like it wasn't planned. It was pretty obvious but I didn't really put two and two together until later on down the road. A few years went by and I had no problems with my car so I didn't take it in. I then got in a wreck and took it back to them. They fixed my fender and it looks great; however, the headlight doesn't shape to fender properly and it doesn't fit flush. They rigged it to where you wouldn't notice it unless you knew exactly what was wrong. They cut a portion of the back of the light off so it would look okay to the naked eye but it is not latched like it should be. Talk about trying to cover up mistakes. Also, during this trip I had them flush my radiator for typical maintenance. A week later my car started to overheat. So, I took it back to them and they said that the coolant was low, which I thought was weird considering they just changed it a week before. They said some connectors needed replaced on top of that, which they didn't they just wanted more money. They continued to say that they admit to mistakes but this wasn't as a result of their previous work, which I never blamed them to begin with so that was a red flag. It is important to note that the system wasn't leaking at all or losing any coolant (they even admitted that). At that point I just said get it fixed. After picking my car back up, the belts and pulleys were squeaking and the gas was drained completely (I had like 3/4 a tank before taking it in). The next day, I was having cooling problems AGAIN. That was it for me. So i took my car to another shop and had them look at my cooling system. After doing some research beforehand, I knew what to expect. They informed me that my cooling system wasn't bled properly and that was causing the problems, which is what I expected after looking into it. Haven't had problems since and that was two months ago. Just goes to show that they don't really know what they are doing if they can't even bleed the air out of a cooling system properly. This is a simple task for those who don't know. I will note that they are very thorough and will tell you everything that is wrong with your car but if you look at it from the other end they are salesmen trying to get you to get things fixed that aren't necessarily needed. Generally, I have been satisfied with the customer service but to me it seems the problems lie within the people doing the work and taking shortcuts. Also, their work is expensive and they tend to completely overcharge. The way I see it is if I am paying for more, it should be right the first time. i have no problem paying more for good work but when it's not good work, it's not worth it.
I am a professional driver and was travelling from S. Dakota to Ohio in my personal vehicle when it decided to break down in Chicago in the middle of the night. I got a tow to Logan Square Auto and waited for them to open. Once they opened I explained my situation and what I had already done to troubleshoot the issue. The owner Rick, allowed me to leave my vehicle there for several weeks as I was going to be over the road and needed time to build up some funds for the repair work to be done. Once they were able to diagnose the problem, they called me to get my approval. It was going to be a little too expensive with them providing the parts (from the dealership), so they allowed me to order my own parts and ship them to the shop. Once the initial repair work was completed (high pressure oil pump), they found that my starter was failing and called to get my approval to replace it on Friday afternoon. Friday night we started driving from S. Dakota to Chicago and of course Mother Nature decided we needed to travel in snow. I called and let Rick know we would be there late on Saturday due to weather and he stated that he would wait on us if we were not able to arrive by the 4pm close time. We arrived at 330pm and my truck was ready for us. Anyone familiar with older diesels know they don't like to start in cold weather and it was about 18deg at that time. After the work had been done, she fired right up with no problems and purred like a kitten the entire drive home. In close I highly recommend Logan Square Auto for any of your auto repair needs!! They were extremely friendly, very competent and willing to answer any questions that I had and the office always knew what the status of my vehicle was when I called and didn't have to go check with the shop!!
Out over $2000.00 from Logan Square Auto! I called on Thursday schedule a fuel check valve replacement. Was told to come in Friday. Arrived Friday morning at 8:15 and Nick told me they wouldn’t get to it before Monday and to leave the truck. I explained I need it for work and could schedule Tuesday morning. I had jobs scheduled with it Monday & Wednesday. Dropped it off 8:00 Tuesday. 4:00 Tuesday I called to check on it Nick said they didn’t get to it. I went and picked it up ( needed it for a job the next day). Scheduled ANOTHER appointment for Thursday to have them replace the check valve. Dropped it off 8:00 Thursday. Called at noon. They hadn’t got to it. At 4:00 Nick called saying they ran tests and I needed a water pump and cooling line and there was an oil leak. I told him I needed the fuel line check valve, this is why it wasn’t starting. Not the oil or water, fuel. I asked Nick if he could order the check valve and install it. I had already wasted two weeks with them and need to fix the valve. He said he would order it and call when it came in to schedule the work. That was Thursday. I called on Wednesday to see if it came in Nick said it came back in on Saturday. I dropped everything and took it in. I called Thursday at noon and Nick said they couldn’t find the check valve but that if I replaced the fuel pump that would fix the problem. Check valve = $10.00, fuel pump = $600.00. Exasperated I said go ahead. Picked up the truck later the next day. Two days later the truck won’t start, it was exactly as it was before I dropped it off. I called and left a message for Nick. It’s four days later and still haven’t heard from him. Worst service anywhere.
I really wanted to support a local business and chose Logan square auto based on the favorable reviews especially from women. I called Tuesday and made an appointment for 10am Thursday, the person was very friendly and I was excited I made a good choice. Thursday comes, I drop off my car and I’m told to give them a couple hours and they would call me when it’s ready. At 1:30 I called to check on the status since it’s now been almost 4 hours. I’m told everyone is at lunch and my car is next, I think ok that’s a bit annoying since I had an appointment but whatever. The day goes by, shop closes at 6 and I don’t hear from them. The next morning still no word from them. I decided to go to the shop and take my car even if they haven’t done the job, at this point I just want my car back. When I get there there is no acknowledgement of the oil change taking 22 hours longer than the original quote, they just give me the bill. I refused to pay and explain everything that’s happened that has made me decide that. Now two men are talking at me like I’m the one in the wrong for refusing to pay. I explained that if they had as much called me to explain they got slammed and had to keep my car overnight I would have paid for the service. Though what’s the point of making an appointment if it’s a “we’ll get to it when we get to it” situation. They had all day to call me and tell me they were running late including at 1:30 when I called to check on it. It wasn’t till it was very clear I wouldn’t pay, did anyone offer me an apology. Beyond disappointing service and customer service. I will not be coming back.
I don't normally write reviews, but feel compelled to after my experience yesterday. I was genuinely kind of shocked at how honest the crew at LSAR are. I'd previously brought my car in for a broken windshield wiper pump and they got it squared away same day. This weekend, I (a young solo female) went in for an oil change and was fully bracing myself for the "your air filters are dirty and your headlight fluid is leaking" that typically comes from other places. The shop was pretty busy, which is a good sign, so I had to sit for a little while but not terribly long -- at the dealership it can take easily an hour plus. Once they called me up to check out, I was pleasantly surprised when the mechanic said everything looked fine with the car and the oil change was all set and that was it! No upsells, no "we put XYZ fluid in your car without asking first soooo too late." They even checked out my air pressure sensor light that was on and found nothing wrong, but didn't charge me for that -- felt good that they weren't trying to nickel and dime me! Definitely will be recommending this shop for anyone looking for car maintenance. Oil change pro tip: check their website, there's coupons!
I bought a preowned 2002 Nissan Pathfinder, no matter what you are always gonna run into some issues here and there with used cars. I first went to Logan square auto repair for a check engine light that came on. I had and oil change a thermostat replacement, and a coil replacement. The car has been running great since I brought it in! I recently had an issue where my car was not producing and heat and just blowing cold air out of it, by now I thought I had bought a lemon of a car, I brought it back to Logan square auto repair and they diagnosed the problem, I needed a new radiator, I had them replace it. When we all thought the problem has been fixed, the heat continued to blow cold air. I called Logan square auto repair and I brought it back in, they were awesome! Manny and Cruz both took extremely wonderful care of my car and my worries! They had found the issue which was a small one and fixed it for me! They also reassured me that I had bought a non lemon and this car will last me a long time with a little love and care! I will be making this my main shop for all my needs in the future! Thank you guys for taking great care of my car!
I found Logan square auto repair a few years ago because they are within walking distance to my apartment. Luckily they are a very fast and skilled auto repair shop! Whenever I've had car issues they've been very helpful in diagnosing and I haven't had anything take more than a day or two to fix. That said - the reason for the 4 stars and not 5 is because they can be overpriced. Example: the last time I was there I was getting an oil change and some brake work done. When they called to confirm services they also suggested an air filter change which I said No to (it takes $25 in parts and 15 minutes of my time to change my air filters...). When i go to pick up the car it turns out they replaced the air filters anyway. No biggy, they must not have heard me on the phone; the only problem is this air filter change was $119! Which is insane that cost them maybe $40 in parts and 15 minutes of work. Strangely while that was super expensive, oil changes are very reasonable and my brake work was also pretty reasonable cost. Bottom line: they do good work, just make sure you review all the charges up front.
Every car I've had, every problem I've encountered with my cars, these guys have been consistently awesome. Prices are reasonble and always match estimates, if anything may be different once they get the car lifted to look at the problem, they're quick to call and discuss options, prices, severity of the issue, other things likely to cause issues soon, and answer any questions (my last 2 cars were beater SUVs, and Rick was tremendously helpful in prioritizing repairs and explaining what to be aware of/when to worry). I've never had any issues with work they've done - and haven't ever had to drop my car back again and again for something that should be done in one shot, which doesn't necessarily seem to be the case with all shops - and to top it all off, Rick and his team are super friendly and accommodating. The waiting/lobby area is well kept, comfortable, and stocked with refreshments, and they have always been welcoming when I roll up with the dog in the backseat during bigger jobs, so he can accompany me for the walk home :) big plus for this girl! Keep up the great work, LSAR!!
I own a 95 Ford Taurus wagon. I’ve taken that vehicle to a few local shops in Chicago and everyone refused to tell me what’s wrong with my car. Had a visible check engine light with 5 codes and a loud squealing. I was told my car was “too old to scan” even when I provided them with the OBD1 scanner. I brought my car to Logan square auto repair, and they exceeded my expectations! Extremely professional service, timely manner, and they do not give you the run around! These guys diagnosed and repaired my car within a few days (special order parts due to cars age) and let me tell you, she drives like a 2021! These guys will tell you what is needed now and what can wait. Also, if you truly can’t afford the bill, they will definitely make sure they do everything possible to get you discounts from programs you may already be a part of to help you afford the bill (prices are not expensive, actually very competitive pricing). I will definitely be coming back here for all my car repair needs from auto body to repairs to a car wash! You guys rock! Thank you!
I found this place because it's right near the gym I go to and needed some electrical work done on my car after the infotainment system unexpectedly died. The dealer quoted the repair and replacement at over 10k. I called Nick at Logan Square auto and explained the situation, he told me to bring it in and they'd see what they could do. Not only did they end up getting the system fixed, but he was able to find salvage parts to do so, cutting the overall cost to a 3rd of what I had been quoted. While they were in there, they also found a coolant leak and were able to repair that as well. I will take every car I purchase to Logan Square Auto for repairs and maintenance as long as I live in the city of Chicago; their professionalism, honesty and capability is far beyond most other shops in the area and, really, they're just nice people. I'm always joking around with the folks there and they always compliment my car when I drop it off or pick it up. Can't recommend this shop enough!
My car "died" on me September 17th while I was out of town. Had to have it towed home. In between that date and the time I actually had my car fixed, it was looked at by three different repair shops. Different prices and findings but all basically the same. I was torn on what to do. I finally Googled to see who specializes in what I needed done to my car. I came across logan Square auto Repair and I decided to try them. I spoke to Nick and he explained what would happen after he took a look at my car. I had it towed to them. He checked it out and told me what he saw. It was a little more than I expected to pay but I went with it and I'm glad I did. He kept me informed on everything they were/would be doing - with my approval of course. I've been driving my car now for 3 weeks and it's running fine! Plus, the work is guaranteed for two years! Thank you Nick and your staff of experts! I would recommend Logan Square Auto Repair for all of your car needs!
I highly recommend Logan Square Auto Repair!! They provided exceptional customer service that stands by what it means to be a family-owned business. We had some repairs done to our Subaru Outback before moving to Texas. After the move, we needed some follow-ups to the initial repair but (being 14 hours away) could not take our car back to them. When I called to let them know, the kind folks at Logan Square Auto Repair immediately recognized this was an issue that should have gotten fixed the first time and offered to pay for the follow-up at our local mechanic. Even our local mechanic was shocked by how helpful and kind they were to us. This is the type of customer service and honesty that is hard to come by these days. I especially appreciated how helpful Rick was throughout the entire process. If we were still living in Chicago, I would take my car here every single time.
I dropped my car off at this place around 9:30am and was told I would receive a call by 12noon with an estimate. I waited till 3:30pm then called them to check on the car. I was then told they hadn’t even looked at the car and that they would look at it then. After that I explained that i really needed the car back today, so then i was told I could be on my way to pick the car up. I explained that I was 10mins away and really needed it back because I had my first day of school, then I was told it would be ready at 5:30pm…What sucked the most is they wasted my entire day, then told me the car was unsafe to drive so I ended up having to pick the car up and missed my first day of school They ARE TOTALLY DISRESPECTFUL WITH YOUR TIME. I was offered no apologies for my inconvenience and no one even seemed to care
Very disappointed with this shop. I felt uneasy the first time I took my car there and what they charged me, and now I know why. They replaced my radiator and didn't even bolt it back into place, so I could hear it rattling as I drove (pics to prove). Second time I went there, they told me my brake pads were dangerously low and that I also needed my calipers, rotors and brake hoses replaced - for a total of over $1000. Took it elsewhere for a second opinion where they actually took the wheel off to look...calipers, rotors and hoses were completely fine, and pads were at least 50% good (I saw everything with my own two eyes). Extremely disappointed in this AAA approved place, and hope AAA is aware of what this place is doing. Needless to say, I won't be trusting their opinions with my car anymore. Shameful.
While they only had two mechanics for the nine cars, Julio treated me very well, went on a test drive with me, identified noises, explained and showed me what needed to be replaced and, more importantly, why, as well as the priority of each itemized repair and maintenance job. He didn't try to oversell me, which was pleasant. He caught issues Firestone had missed, such as my reverse light, license plate light, and a brake light that were missing, and even told me what parts were good that Firestone had said were bad. While an alley mechanic is cheaper, I think they are way more trustworthy and thorough. They are probably priced higher than Car X, but below Firestone, but are a good value. I was very happy with my experience and trust what they say more than the other mechanics I have seen so far.
Read and decide for yourself. Went in for steering alignment. Mechanic on the phone would not quote me over the phone and came back citing needs for rear suspension and headlight load sensors. 1300 dollars in total. I said no thanks to the extra parts and it took a full day and a half to do the alignment. Get the car back and it has a flat tire and was not aligned. Exactly the same as when I brought it in. Had the car towed back, and then after another day in the shop, it comes back with a shaking steering wheel. Mechanic says not their fault, but if they want to take a look, I should bring it back. These guys agree to solve a problem take too long, creep into other areas to charge more, and don't do well enough on quality control. My opinion, but there have to be better shops in Chicago.
I had an exceptional experience at this auto shop, and I must give a special shout-out to Nick, who went above and beyond to assist me. From start to finish, the service I received was top-notch. Nick's expertise and dedication truly stood out, making me feel confident in the work being done on my vehicle. The entire team at this shop was friendly and professional, and they completed the repairs efficiently. What impressed me even more was their willingness to patiently explain each repair's purpose and help me prioritize based on my budget. This level of transparency and customer service is truly commendable. I highly recommend this auto shop, and I'll definitely be returning for any future automotive needs. Thanks again to Nick and the team for their outstanding service!
We were in a real fix. From out of town and the car broke down.. worst case scenario. From the moment we called Logan Square Auto Repair they made us feel so much better about our situation. The receptionist was very friendly and did exactly what she said she would.. keeping us informed and up to date on our repair. They got us in literally immediately and worked hard to get us up and running so we could get back home ( 3 1/2 hrs away). They even stayed late to help us. We could NOT have been happier with the people, service or price. If I lived in Chicago I would never take my car anywhere else. I highly recommend these folks. Thanks again Logan Square Auto Repair.. us Fort Wayne guys are forever in your debt!!
Professional and practical - I've been looking for a good repair shop for months and months, and tried going to several dealership/repair shops around town without success. But Logan Auto is amazing - unlike the dealerships, they don't try and upsell you on services you don't need or repairs that will have at BEST a marginal impact on your car's performance. Instead, they quickly and professionally inspected my car, performed the required services, and dismissed the items brought up by the dealerships as completely unnecessary - and took the time to explain everything to me in great detail. I will be using them for all my business from now on - they are so, so, so much more trustworthy then the dealers in town.
What can I say about the crew at Logan Square Auto? These people are wonderful! We live just up the road and have brought our vehicle to them over the last 2 years or so. Every time we’re in there we feel like family. They treat us super well, prices are very fair, and they always go the extra mile to make sure we feel taken care of. Most recently they’ve been helping us chase down a problem that has been really tricky to locate. We were out in CA and 3 different shops tried and failed to find the fix, and eventually sent us away without having fixed anything. LSA has gone above and beyond to help us out. We love this shop and will continue to bring our vehicles there anytime we need anything.
I had them run a diagnostics and it said that I needed a rear right wheel speed sensor. They quoted me $1300 to replace both rear wheel speed sensors and both rear wheel bearings even though my bearings are fine. I went somewhere else and replaced just the wheel speed sensor for $200 and it cleared my error message. I also had an oil leak, they quoted me $1800 without cleaning the motor to see where leak was coming from. I went somewhere else that did and discovered It was only 2 oil pressure switches, I got those changed out for $205 and it fixed the leak. Im appalled by the way Logan Square Auto Repair treated me and how they tried to take advantage of me. Dishonesty shows.
All I went in for was a simple oil change. I picked up the car went straight home, a 5 minute drive from the shop. Later that evening went to run errands, car is smoking. Stop on the side of the road, open the hood and see that they forgot to put the oil cap back on. Now I'm stranded and if I drive further my engine is going to get ruined. A simple oil change, now it's a weekend long ordeal, stranded and carless waiting for someone to call me back. I will never go back again! If they can't remember to put the cap back on, what else are they forgetting to do?!?!?!? Now I'm going to see how they fix this issue and expect complete reimbursement for all damages incurred!
If you can go somewhere else, do so as fast as possible. This shop is one of the worst shops around. Took my car in because it stopped accelerating. Car acted like it was in neutral. Towed it to Logan’s and had them diag the vehicle. They came back to me with “internal damage in the transmission” wanting to charge me $4500 for a used (33k miles supposedly) transmission. Told them what proof lead them to a faulty transmission and they couldn’t tell me why they decided the transmission bad. Took the vehicle to a different shop and they diagnosed it as faulty calipers. Do not go here or you will pay a large amount of money to have something irrelevant changed.
I don't know how someone could give Logan Square Auto Repair anything less than a five-star rating. I am a single woman, so it's hard to find an automotive repair shop that I feel I can trust. Well, I have been a customer here for over 8 years, so that should tell you something. I have always been very happy with the service I've received and never felt I was being pushed into having service done that I didn't really need. They are very friendly and accommodating when I wait for service. They even offer to drive me back home or to my office so I don't have to wait. Pricing has always been fair. I would recommend Sterling to anyone; and I do all the time!
The personalized care I received was beyond a wonderful experience. I use my car for personal and business purposes and how they understood the importance of my means of transportation is an understatement. Last min appointment but not only were they able to get the job done, the mechanical work needed was explained to where I understood. No confusion or hassle! They were able to get my parts delivered to get the job done so who ever they partner with for parts definitely have the same goal…True customer care!!. I highly recommend these guys and will definitely be a returning client for all my auto repairs! Thank you Logan Square Auto Repair.
I haven't had a car in over a decade, so when I got one again I needed a mechanic in my area. I was having an issue with an engine temp light going on and off and the first mechanic I went to gave me a very high estimate for major repairs he thought I needed done. I took it to Logan Square Auto for a second opinion and general check of the car. It was a bit of a mystery to find the issue, but they kept me updated and were very easy to communicate with. They eventually found the problem and it was not at all what the first mechanic thought it was (and not as major). It's been running great since. Thank you! I am happy I found my new mechanic.
So my headlight burnt out a couple days ago and I swear I couldnt find one person to help me fix it. I went to a couple auto part stores and bought about 3 different light bulbs but no one knew how to install it until I came to Logan Square Auto Repair - the best car mechanic out there. Not only they were super fast they knew everything they needed to fix my car. Just by looking they knew I bought all the wrong bulbs but they had the right one in stock (which NEVER happens at auto repair shops), fixed it in 5 minutes, and price was completely reasonable. GREAT AUTO REPAIR. Highly recommended
I have used Logan Sq Auto Repair for 8 years for all of my car maintenance and repair needs (I have an older Jeep Patriot and its had a lot of issues). Rick and the team are always great communicators, able to fit you in on short notice and perform quality work. They also offer various discounts if you have memberships to AAA or Costco and some other places. They have always come through for me and when I have had more expensive car repairs done they throw in things like free car washes, wheel alignment, etc. As long as I live in Chicago I will use them at my auto repair shop!
I love having neighborhood car "guy"! I've been taking my cars here for many years now. Yes, they are skilled in their craft and can fix and maintain cars, but so do a lot of other businesses. Logan Square Auto offers great service and trustworthiness that many other business just can't beat. I'm comfortable calling my neighborhood guy even when I do something silly like accidently hitting my remote start while grocery shopping only to return to my running car thinking something must be wrong! They never made me feel silly about it. I appreciate their expertise and kindness.
Nick and Logan Square Auto were nothing short of amazing. I was traveling from Pittsburgh to Chicago last weekend and had an issue with my vehicle. My daughter called ahead on a Friday to see if we could make an appointment for Saturday. Nick told her that he had no appointments available on Saturday, but if we brought the vehicle in early, he would do what he could to help us out. Needless to say, they fit us in to their very busy schedule. They completed the repair and we returned home safely to Pittsburgh the next day. These guys are awesome!!
My family has been bringing our cars to Logan Square Auto for almost a decade. They are the most trustworthy shop I have found in this area. The diagnostics cone with images and quotes are broken down to specifics. Logan Square Auto has underpromised and over delivered on everything from passing emissions, to new transmissions, to repairs that other name brand shops didn’t even attempt. If you want an honest shop that communicates clearly, come here. You’ll know when Nick picks up the phone, the large and knowledgeable team has got you covered.
My old mechanic was always trying to get me to pay for things I didn't need. I've taken my car in to Logan Square Auto Repair twice now, and both times they fixed the issue without trying to manufacture "new problems" for them to fix. Furthermore, on this last visit, they made absolutely sure that the issue I had with my car wasn't caused by them when I'd brought it in last (it wasn't). Courteous staff, great customer service, fair prices, won't try to get you to pay for things you don't need, and they stand by the quality of their work.
So I bought a used Audi, that had some pre-existing issues. Brought it here for repairs and I’m very satisfied with the results. New crankshaft sensor, fixed coolant leak, new intake manifold, software upgrade, and a number of other things. One issue after another, my check engine light wanted to stay on, but they took care of everything at a decent price and in a timely manner. One of my headlights had been flickering too. I don’t recall asking them to fix this but I think they did anyway. Excellent work, thank you!
I was not impressed with my visit and service by this repair shop. The employees were unfriendly and tried to get me to add on several unnecessary services with prices and labor/time that were inflated compared to other shops I received quotes from. They also claimed my battery needed to be replaced (replaced at the dealer one year ago) and that my tires were worn (also recent from Costco). I expected more from this location based on reviews and tie to the Costco auto program. I can't recommend this shop.
We've taken our car here a few times, for brake service and oil changes. Customer service is always good, prices are competitive, and they haven't tried to sell us things we don't need. We've gone to Joe's in the past, but switched because LSAR was closer, and they definitely seem better (last time we took our car for service at Joe's, it started making weird noises when you put it in reverse afterwards). If you're in the Logan Square area, I highly recommend Logan Square Auto Repair.
This place is always sneaky about the final charges. I remember the first time I went here in 2022 I had to double check and review the invoice as they tried to charge me for a service I did not receive. Recently I went back here for my car to get inspected. I qualified for a discount through my Costco membership and even though they said they applied the discount it was only for a partial amount of the total discount. Wouldn’t recommend going here if you want trustworthy service.
I reached out to 6 shops in Chicago for a handful of normal maintenance needs on my car. I prefer to use OEM parts, and provide them myself (it's cheaper and better quality). Out of the 6 contacted, this and one other were the only two that flat out refused to warranty their work if they used my OEM parts. I was happy to find that most of them do not have this greedy corporate policy. Not surprised that only logan square area mechanics had this ridiculous policy. Customers beware.
Good, honest and reliable experience on multiple occasions. Most recently, my daughter was informed that her engine was shot. I didn't know until over a week later after she gave birth to my first grandson. I contacted them about getting the vehicle towed. They could have easily charged me a storage fee as indicated by their policy, but they let me slide. They also recommended a tow service that was considerably lower priced than my daughter's. It all worked out.
10/10 for service, communication & turnaround time! Came for routine services & a water leak issue. Nick took his time to explain what the problem was, how they could have happened & what to do in the future to prevent it. He also clearly answered all of my questions related to the routine services. They cleaned & vacuumed my car each time as well. So thankful & relieved to have found Logan Square Auto Repair! Will keep recommending to those in the area!
I went in for an oil change and after I picked it up began hearing rattling noises. I took it back in and they told me my brake pads were worn down and that my U Joints also needed replacing. The sum was nearly $1,000 but I just replaced my brakes 2 weeks ago and checked them out and had my dad check them out (who knows cars and installed them in the first place) and said they were totally fine. I will never go back after they tried to scam me like that.
Looking for a local, trustworthy shop for my Maserati, I started reading reviews and reached out to the few shops available outside of the dealer network. Nick at Logan Square Automotive responded quickly, looked over my car and sent pictures with his estimate. These guys did top notch work, are fair, and explained everything. All while doing the work (front/rear Brembo brake job) in an acceptable amount of time and cost.
Logan Square Auto Repair has an excellent team and great customer service. I'll be coming here from now on without the fear of being scammed which is how we all feel until we find the right place. Overall impressed with timeliness, honesty, and a true commitment to serving the customer. I will definitely continue to bring my car here for all future needs! I look forward to continue having a great mechanic that can trust!
Ever since I moved to Logan Square I've brought my car here for any and all needs that arise. I never feel like services are being pushed on me and always receive patient and detailed explanations of the maintenance I require. In particular, employee Nik has always excellently addressed my concerns about parts and scheduling. All the work has been top notch and replacement parts have worked perfectly. Strong Recommend.
I have had way too many problems with my x5 in this city than i've ever had back home (thanks Chi) but i'm definitely thankful that my friend referred me to these guys! I have grown up with mechanics and know how to deal with the kind that will try to steal parts from your car. However, Logan Square Auto Repair is the real deal! They are honest , knowledgeable and will always give you the best price!I
I had a rusty screw that would not come off to get new plates onto my car. I called them up and they said bring it right in and we'll get it taken care of. This was a no value job for them, but they took me in and treated me really well. They have great customer service and I will be back to get some body damage fixed as well - they know what they're doing. Thank you, Logan Square Auto Repair!
Had a bit of a problem with this place after being charged for work that was never actually done on my car. Initially I left a pretty bad review but the manager called me to very apologetically explain what happened and refunded the cost of the work that was supposedly done. Not the best 1st impression with these guys but mistakes happen and I'd probably be willing to give them another shot.
I have never enjoyed taking my car into any auto service so was skeptical about Logan Square Auto. I was pleasantly surprised at how friendly and polite the service staff were as well as knowledgeable. Within 15 minutes they were able to locate the issue with car and had the parts in stock to make the repairs. I was on my way within an hour of arriving and the costs was very reasonable.
I put in an appointment for an alignment, only to be told that it would take 2 or 3 hours. I asked them to contact me if it would take that long so I could bring it in another day. I waited 3 hours in good faith only to be told it would take another 1.5 hours after waiting 3. I called them. When I told them that I needed my car they weren't apologetic or anything. Not worth your time.
I've been taking my vehicles here for over 15 years. Rick has always taken good care of me. More recently, Nick has done the same. Even if the repair didn't go right, they've always stood by thier work and getten me back on the road without a fight. I've tried several other mechanics closer to my house, and none of them come close to the experiences I've had with LSAR. Thanks guys!
They were referred to me by several co-workers for their own vehicle repairs. They were upfront, reasonably priced and quick. I expected the work to take longer but was suprised to get my car back in half the time. If you are a Costco member #Costco #costcoautoprogram and show them your card, they give you a 15% discount off parts, which can be beneficial on your bill total.
It doesn't get more efficient than this. My super expensive tires were no match for a small sharp screw. This team made me feels like a Formula 1 driver In and Out, good as new and for a great price. You will not be disappointed! Everyone should go here. I had absolutely OUTSTANDING service, fair and honest pricing. I'm only coming here from now on. Highly recommended.
I cannot speak highly enough of Rick and the staff at Logan Square Auto. We broke down on our way home from vacation on a Friday evening, and Logan Square not only had our vehicle repaired by end of business on Saturday, but handled all of the warranty paperwork for payment as well. We were able to get back on the road and back home on schedule. Thank you so much!!!
Everyone here is friendly, professional and customer focused. And they are very fair in their pricing and completely transparent with the process. We've taken our car her for everything from adding a trailer hitch, to regular maintenance care to emergency engine repairs and I have complete faith in the team and their ability to fix the problem and earn my business.
Great guys, no BS, and trustworthy. They like joking around, but when it comes to repair they're all business - get the car in and get it out. They're not going to find something wrong with your car unless you tell them to. Parking is a little tight, if you have to leave your car you'll need help getting it out since everything is double or triple parked.
The staff here is extremely rude and unpleasant. I understand you are trying to run a business but I had someone pounding on my window and yelling as myself and others waited in line for the car wash next door. If your shop has a problem with the traffic flow caused by the business next door take it up with them directly or speak to your local alderman.
I've been here a couple of times now, and it came highly recommended by a friend. First time they did a great job, no problems, great communication, and fair prices. Second time, I came in for an unrelated issue, and it was something they were able to fix for free. They didn't even charge me for the time/diagnosis. I will be coming back!
I had a great experience! I tried a different place and left multiple messages no one got back to me. Then I found Logan Auto repair, they answered on the first call and got me in that week and got the service done quickly. They have a great online system for payment that is very transparent and fast. Really great place and experience!
I've been taking my car here since 2013. As a young woman who knows nothing about cars, I can't overstate how great it is to have a shop that doesn't try to swindle me or talk down to me. Came for the AAA discount, stayed for the great service, reliable and trustworthy team, and fair prices. Recommend them 100 times over.
I have had multiple excellent customer service experiences with Logan Square Auto. They have gone above and beyond in being helpful, reliable, and timely. During my latest visit, Nick expedited my repair job just so I could make it out of town on a planned trip. I will continue coming back to them for all my auto needs.
Just wanted to extend my gratitude to the mechanics here at Logan Square auto repair. I was in a real bind and far from home, and they took super great care of me. Reasonable prices for the city and extremely friendly and communicative staff. Thank you so much for fixing my Jeeps break lines and getting me safely home!
I love this place. They're nice, always give good estimates and never try and pull a fast one on me. Their pricing is fair for all your usual stuff- filters, tires, oil, etc. They always check and see if something is under my warranty before doing it. PLUS they gave me a gift on Christmas. I'm a customer for life.
As a first time car owner in Chicago, I was nervous about being taken advantage of. I’ve heard many horror stories. Several friends recommended this shop and I couldn’t be more grateful. This team is professional, kind, speedy, and I will always come back, even if it’s just for an oil change. This team is great!
My wife's old Honda Accord needed an engine repair and the mechanics at Logan Square were every professional and honest with what needed to be done. They have a winter special going on right now and my repair was $50 dollars off. They did an excellent job and did not try to bs me with unecessary charges/repairs.
These guys have been really great with our old Subaru. Honest and efficient! You can tell that they smoke a lot though. Our car came back smelling of cigarettes, which was unpleasant since I'm allergic. The shop itself is great, just wish the staff wouldn't smoke in your car when they're test driving it.
Nick and the crew at Logan Square Auto Repair are awesome. We've been taking our cars to them for the last 10 years and they have always been skilled, trustworthy, and supportive technicians. Friendly, efficient, and fair, I recommend them to anyone looking for reliable car maintenance and repairs.
They were very accommodating with dealing with AAA towing being bad and addressed our issues ASAP. They also sent photos of everything they recommended and explained why they recommended it and whether it was urgent. They do offer Costco and AAA discounts here. Very friendly and communicative.
Took my Toyota to get the AC belts fixed. Right out of the box he gave me a price to fix the belts. I thought the price was for one belt repair only but when I asked him he said its for the whole thing. Was really amazed by the price and the mechanic really knows his stuff. Highly recommended.
I only take my vehicle to shops that are a part of the Costco Auto program and this is one of the best ones I have had the pleasure to work with. Their rates are fair, the employees are friendly and they work with you to find a solution. Overall great experience and will definitely be back!
First time here, I needed my 13 yr old truck to pass the emissions test, they gave me a fair price and guaranteed their work. My truck passed the emissions test and runs so smoothly now! And they got the work done in a matter of one day. I was impressed with their work and professionalism.
Logan Square Auto Repair is a reliable and trustworthy repair shop. They are thorough, explain issues and work hard to do the work in a timely manner. They are part of our neighborhood and I feel lucky to have them close by for both small and big jobs. I highly recommend their services.
These guys went out of their way to solve some timely issues on a car I was selling, to include meeting me in a nearby field with a jump pack when my battery died! Professional and courteous outfit who will literally go the extra mile to make things right. Recommended for sure.
This is the most honest mechanic in Chicago. I visited them twice and both times they went out of their way to find cost-effective solutions. They were friendly and quick and, best of all, did great work. This is now the only mechanic I will visit. Terrific shop.
I have a friend that has been going to this place for years. I'm pretty sure they've all but rebuilt her car by now lol. The staff is professional and friendly, the work is solid, and turnaround time is usually reasonable, but sometimes they can get busy.
More than satisfied with their effort to get repairs done to my 20 year old car. It was hard to find some parts, but they found workarounds, and went beyond to make sure my car passed the state emissions test. Would use them again for future repairs.
Great auto repair shop—I have been taking my cars to Logan Square Auto Repair for maintenance and repairs for several years now. The mechanics provide real and honest assessments, and the price seems fair. I trust them to take great care of my car.
I've been coming here for over a decade. They are fast, flexible, reasonably priced, professional and pleasant to deal with. Never had one single problem here, and occasionally they'll throw in a free car wash. Really good spot, glad I found it.
My auto repair shop, hands down! Always prompt, always informative- I've gotten updates as the work progresses. Nice to have a fairly priced, RELIABLE shop. They've worked nicely with my extended warranty provider!! Important!! Thx all at LSA!!
Had a number of issues that needed attention with my car. The estimate was pretty high, but they helped me find discounts I could apply, and the car was honestly better than I would have imagined when I picked it up. Great customer experience!
Second time coming to this place. Both times have been treated great. Honest mechanics and honest prices for good work and efficient time. Nick who has helped me out both times has been nothin but great. Will definitely continue to come here.
Thieves tried to steal my Prius' catalytic converter but failed. They were only able to cut the exhaust pipe leading to the catalytic converter. Brought my car to Logan Square Auto Repair shop. The rest is history. They know what happened.
I had some issues with my 2011 BMW X3. I took it to Perillo a couple of times and I was never really happy with the work that was done. These guys knocked it out of park with the repairs. I will continue to bring my BMW to them.
When my car had issues starting up, Logan Square took care of me and made everything painless and easy. I'm new to the city and very glad to have found professionals. I will be back whenever I have trouble in the future. Thanks!
I have been bringing my cars to Logan Square Auto since 2011. They have always performed excellent work for me. Their staff is friendly, knowledgeable and trustworthy. They stand behind their work because they do good work.
It is hard to find a reliable mechanic, but these guys are great. I needed an oil change and they got me in the same day I called. They were fast and efficient. I will definitely be returning here for my car repair needs.
Fast and efficient service, professional and easy to communicate with. I love that they gave me the ability to review my entire diagnostic, including pictures, and the ability to pay on my phone via secure transaction.
Michael was very helpful when I brought in my broken down Miata. Unfortunately, it was beyond fixing, but they were courteous and professional in explaining everything and working with me to get it junked. Great folks!
Nick really helped me out! I wasn’t aware that their online appointment system needed to be confirmed by the shop, but because my fix was so minor, they got me in and out really quickly. I am so appreciative of them!
Love Logan Square Auto Repair, the staff is very professional and trustworthy, and helped me tremendously! Thank you Nick, for coming to the rescue when I needed it the most! I recommend them to anyone ❤️
So glad we found Logan Square Auto Repair. We wouldn't go anywhere else now. They always do a great job and are so communicative and helpful along the way. They go the extra mile and it shows.
The guys at Logan square auto were great. Someone hit my door and they were able to bend it back as a temporary fix and are providing me with a quote. They were very helpful and professional
I went in for the first time today and I was checked in right away and given an accurate complete time of my repairs. Great customer service and clean facility. I would definitely recommend.
This was my second time using Logan Square: each time I was very pleased with the friendliness yet professionalism of the staff as well as the quality of the work. I highly recommend them
I'm very impressed! Customer service was excellent, and they repaired my vehicle quickly and even cleaned the car and made it look nice and shiny. They definitely over delivered!
Nick is very honest and helpful. He explains the problem and doesn't try and get you to pay for services you don't need. I appreciate his honesty and integrity. Highly recommend!
I’ve been going to them for years, first with my Prius and now with my Honda Odyssey. They are so honest, polite and professional. I recommend them to everyone who has a car!!
The service at Logan Square Auto Repair is REMARKABLE ! This auto repair place is worthy of 5 STAR RATINGS! I highly recommend Logan Square Auto Repair for your auto needs!
very responsive and trustworthy service, helped me identify issue with my squeaky breaks. Just moved to this area, so glad to know there’s a great mechanic shop nearby:)
Extremely good Auto shop. They work fast, have fair quotes, and are very professional. A true Gem, had a better service and work here than with the dealer.
My car was making a noise that didn’t sound good the day before leaving for a road trip. Nick was super clutch and helped me get my car fixed same day!
Took such good care of my car! Great customer service and helped me with questions & concerns. Made a stressful time so much easier & did great work!
