Terrible service, lazy employees with low intelligence have no idea how to work. Hour I was marinated at the post office (I should have received two parcels), in the end, a woman, who is 80 years old by dynamism, gives me one package with the words "the second is still on the way." I show her a confirmation in my email that TWO parcels arrived on March 26 (of course, I did not receive any notification from African mail). She, looking at me with pitiful eyes and a malicious smirk, said that I should pay the tax for the package, although it was already paid online. My advice, take care of your nerves and psyche and DO NOT ORDER anything and never in South Africa

Went in for Motor Vehicle License Renewal, the entire process including me completing the forms took under 15 minutes and the Lad who assisted me was kind enough to cut the Disc out for me. Great service and recommended branch for renewals 2023 Update: I went to the branch around 16:00 taking a shot at my license renewal, around 7 people in the queue and it took 20 minutes to get my vehicle license renewed, I don't know the name of the teller who assisted me but this gentleman really deserves praise, he is friendly, efficient and clearly takes pride in his job. Thank you SAPO Lonehill, you never disappoint.

The whole postal system is at 0 stars. Lonehill at least still exists and mostly does licence renewals. This makes for a long queue to pick up a package, as typically there is only one teller available. Cash only, which is ludicrous in this day and age, and without the ability to track a package that they physically have custody of. Instead, I have to spend half an hour on two different landlines to do it myself, and only when I can confirm that it is there, does the manager dare open the book to look for the entry. How this circus still operates is mind boggling.

I renewed my motor vehicle licence there last Saturday, 40 minute waiting time in the queue. I think this is because there is only one MVL terminal in this Post Office. But at least I got it done and the staff were professional. The helpful customers in the queue told me that I needed to ask for forms from the teller. The teller handed me the forms which had been printed on reused paper +1 for recycling :), luckily I had brought my own pen. I couldn't renew my wife's vehicle as I didn't have her ID and the form needs a proxy signature.

This is the worst Post Office in South Africa. I have been to this Post Office 4 times these past Saturdays and they just tell you they are offline especially from between hours of 10 to 12 because they want to knock off. I work Monday to Friday and I want to renew my License Disc but not according to they work schedule. Where I work I take a Customer even 1 minutes after my shift has ended. I don't recommend this Post office, horrible and Annoying to say the least.

I was pleasantly surprised with my license renewal experience. I visited on a Friday afternoon and there were only 4 people in the queue. I waited 10 minutes and then it was my turn. The lady at the counter was very kind and my disc was sorted out within 5 minutes! Oh and there are card facilities available, so you don’t need to carry cash. Just remember that if you fill out a form (which you can download online), also bring along proof of residence and your ID.

People queuing outside with camping chairs.....blows my mind, this is a basic service it doesnt have to be like this. Surely we can do better. The shop is so dirty :( Saddens me the people who work there dont care about their own environment. Its a matter of pride! Ita all gone. Not sure why i am even posting this, the government doesnt care to be better or do better. But it helped kill the time in the queue :)

10 people in line but it took 2 hours to get through 7 people. By the time I was the 3rd to be helped, Load shedding struck. It is a pathetic place to visit. Go to Northgate....1 of the best in the region. Lonehill has 2 people working and 4 others are just in the cubicle watching and cell phones. I think they should just shut it down. They also ran out of ink to print discs. What a joke!

Pathetic service. The staff makes the work place and soon they will find themselves without a job if they continue with the service they are giving. Post offices would be limited to one within a larger radius and the others would close down. Private entities would take over and offer better service. I hope the staff reads this and sorry that you didn't take you job seriously....

Motor vehicle licences. Last week the site was down. Phoned today and it is working but you can't renew between 12h00-13h00 as the person who assists with this is "on lunch" even though the office is open? Should there not be a backup assistant who can help? Also, can you please add the time the PO opens. Currently only closing time is listed. Thank you

I did call before reach there thy don't answering call. I thought maybe they busy. I start my way after 10km I was there and saw no power and she said even if we get power my network doesn't work . Now what I say in that condition. And I did call same time when I was in office the phon is ringing front of me but no body pick call.

I have to compliment the one female teller working today, the conditions she has to work under are not pleasant, one of the hottest days in jhb and the aircon doesn't work and despite not even taking a break and being subject to verbal abuse from another person in the queue, she did her best to work as fast as possible.

Pleasantly surprised at how efficient my experience was here. I had a package delivered from the US and it cleared customs and SAPO processing within a week or so. Despite not getting a shelf number, the Post Office employee found my package easily with my tracking number, and I was out in 10 minutes.

If I could give this place zero stars I would! Service is absolutely terrible. 1 person manning the entire place and to make matters worse, slow as hell! License renewals are a nightmare as well. Rather get your parcels routed to other places or just rather avoid the post office period!

Phoned the post office call center (20 mins wait and no answer) and every other number I could find to try track my lost parcel. Eventually I phoned Lonehill Post Office, Immediate answer and the guy phoned me back in 20 mins to tell me where my parcel was. THANKS SO MUCH!!!!!!

SA post office has always been one of those places one would dread to go to due to a long history of terrible service and they stay true to this everytime. Only one person was serving the sturdy influx of people. What could easily take 5minutes is essentially an hour's wait.

A place where even one star is a waste. Unfriendly, following irregular business hours, and not sharing the situation with the customer. I really don't know why this place exists. I think this should be accepted as an African situation.

Rude and arrogant staff. Waited 2 hours in line only to be turned away as we got to front of the line at exactly the closing time. One staff member slowly doing the licensing on a busy day with the long line. Poor service all around

On par with Eskom ..Most probably as insufficiently company to deal with. . .it should be privatised to make it efficient and a success thus get rid of half of the employees and get people who can do the job.

Closed during loadshedding! Very annoying since every other store is still able to operate during loadshedding. But at least the lady doing the car license renewals was very quick and efficient.

Agree with the review on the form "scam". Its pathetic really, but come to expect nothing less from public services. In addition, Fri closing hours should be 4.30pm since tellers close by then.

When load shedding hits, they cannot help you. Then when the power comes back, it takes them literally hours to reboot their system. One of the worst queueing experiences of my life.

No queues and quickest post office I have been to. Some staff are too relaxed though and only have two tellers opened when they could open more. However best experience by far!

Can they change their office hours on the website for Saturdays because one of the ladies that work there rudely said they were closed and this was before 1PM...it was 12:15PM

They never ever answered the telephone, plus there was no instruction about the length of time that you can proceed with your car registration check certificate.

Friendly staff. I like the fact that they go the extra mile to send sms notifications (in addition to the post box slip notification) when a parcel has arrived.

Their vehicle license renewal system has been down for weeks. And judging by their attitudes, they don't care that it's down. Seriously! Get your acts together.
